Partial redeploy of an application ear fails intermittently

Hi,
I am trying to redeploy my application ear using deployment API provided by weblogic. The list of files which i try to redeploy are couple of jars and couple of wars one at a time. The problem is most of the times the deployment paritally goes through informing me that weblogic has transitioned application status from activated at last. But in some cases i see "<b>javax.management.InstanceAlreadyExistsException"</b> though the application is already present. Why does this happen where in the handle to ApplicationMBean tries to register the application as though it was new which is not the case. Check the exception below.

  • Partial redeployment problem for J2EE module update

    hi, all
    I have one application file (.ear) composed of three EJB modules. I tried to paritally redeploy one of them, but it didn't work.
    Here is the command-line for partial redeployment: java weblogic.Deployer -adminurl t3://XX.XX.XX.XX:XXXX -username XXXX -password XXXX -name XA_MOrderEAR -source XAMOrderEAR -targets MOrderBM.jar@SquadA_N1 -redeploy, where XAMOrderEAR is the name of the exploded archive, MOrderBM.jar is the EJB module to be partially redeployed, SquadA_N1 is a cluster.
    Here is the result:

    Please tell me how to solve the problem. I tried to set enable-bean-class-redeploy to true in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml. It didn't work too.

    Hiya
    You can debug this quite easily yourself.
    Enable the SQL Trace for that session and see the Last SQL in the raw trace file.
    You can also run the trace with the option to view bind variables.
    This way you can find out why the SQL is returning no_data_found

  • Partial redeployment of a static jar file with weblogic.Deployer

    Hello,
    We are working on an application serving jar files to customers, via Java Web Start, hence that are considered from our point of view as static files, like our HTML and Javascript pages.
    Moreover, we have one jar that changes regularly, so every time it's loaded on the server we need to do a partial redeployment of this jar file, as documented here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs103/deployment/redeploy.html#wp1025739
    However, it does not work, as I believe WebLogic doesn't consider my jar file as a static file.
    C:\>java -cp weblogic.jar weblogic.Deployer -adminurl http://mymachine:7001 -user weblogic -password mystrongpassword -name myapp -redeploy launcher/downloadme.jar
    weblogic.Deployer invoked with options: -adminurl http://mymachine:7001 -user weblogic -name myapp -redeploy launcher/downloadme.jar
    <Mar 8, 2013 7:09:36 PM CET> <Info> <J2EE Deployment SPI> <BEA-260121> <Initiating redeploy operation for application, myapp [archive: null], to configured targets.>

    Task 24 failed: [Deployer:149026]redeploy application myapp [Version=7] on WebServer.
    Target state: redeploy failed on Server WebServer
    weblogic.management.DeploymentException:
    The application myapp#7 cannot have the resource launcher/downloadme.jar updated dynamically. Either:
    1.) The resource does not exist.
    or
    2) The resource cannot be changed dynamically.
    Please ensure the resource uri is correct, and redeploy the entire application for this change to take effect.
    As a side note, if I rename downloadme.jar to downloadme.jar.*html*, then WebLogic agrees to redeploy it!
    Is there any way to force the static redeployment of my jar file?
    Thanks and regards,
    Julien

    Hi,
    The feature you are trying to use works only when web application is deployed in exploded format. Is your app deployed in exploded format?
    Also jars are never considered static, so I doubt this will work here.
    As an alternative you can go for Oracle Weblogic Production redployment feature. Refer to - http://middlewaresupport.wordpress.com/2013/03/21/production-redeployment-feature-in-weblogic/

  • Partial Redeployment

    I'm using wls 8.1. I'm deploying an exploded EAR containing EJB modules and web
    apps. Can I redeploy only the classes loaded by the EJB classloader, or does
    the entire application have to be reloaded? If so, how? What partial redeployment
    options are available when the deployed module is an EAR? Thanks...

    You'll need to add the <enable-bean-class-redeploy> tag to your
    weblogic.ejb-jar.xml
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ejb/reference.html#1431359
    Then you redeploy by specifying the class that was updated. Something
    like this:
    java weblogic.Deployer -username system -password gumby1234 -redeploy
    -name beanimpl ejb/com/acme/ejb/HelloWorldEJB.class
    This updates the application beanimpl with a new version of my
    HelloWorldEJB class. You just specify the path relative to the topof
    the EAR.

    Thanks Rob. You've been a great help. One more question; If I use
    manifest
    classpath to cause a utility JAR to be loaded by the EJB classloader,
    will I need
    to reload the entire application to refresh it?
    Also, the EJB jar file has to be exploded in order to update the implementation
    class, right? I can't seem to update or replace an unexploded EJB JAR.

  • Please Help! ERROR: Application Server failed. when Refreshing

    Please help on this below issue. Thanks.
    We have a requirement that using ASP.NET (C#), we need to open saved .rpt file (saved with data and the rpt file is assigned to the web page as query string) and let the users refresh themselves with latest data by clicking at refresh icon of the CrystalReportViewer. But it throws 'The Report Application Server failed' error message. What could cause this message. below is the piece of code we are using to configure the report.
    private void ConfigureCrystalReports()
    string reportPath = Server.MapPath("Reports
    SEMS0001_UBS.rpt");
    this.CrystalReportSource2.ReportDocument.Load(reportPath);
    CrystalReportViewer1.Visible = false;
    SetDBLogonForReport(this.CrystalReportSource2.ReportDocument);
    int i = 0;
    foreach (ParameterField field in this.CrystalReportSource2.ReportDocument.ParameterFields)
    field.HasCurrentValue = true;
    //this.CrystalReportSource2.ReportDocument.Refresh();
    CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo = this.CrystalReportSource2.ReportDocument.ParameterFields;
    CrystalReportViewer1.Visible = true;
    public void SetDBLogonForReport(ReportDocument reportDocument)
    Tables tables = reportDocument.Database.Tables;
    connectionInfo.ServerName = "server"; //ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DBServer"];
    connectionInfo.UserID = "user"; //ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DBUser"];
    connectionInfo.Password = "passwd"; //XsiteWinRpt.ConnUtil.GetOnlyPasswordOfConnString(); //ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DBPassword"];
    //foreach (CrystalDecisions.Shared.IConnectionInfo connection in reportDocument.DataSourceConnections)
    // connection.SetConnection(ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DBServer"], "", ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DBUser"], ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DBPassword"]);
    // connection.SetLogon(ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DBUser"], ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DBPassword"]);
    foreach (CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table table in tables)
    TableLogOnInfo tableLogonInfo = table.LogOnInfo;
    tableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo = connectionInfo;
    table.ApplyLogOnInfo(tableLogonInfo);
    //reportDocument.Database.Tables[0].ApplyLogOnInfo(tableLogonInfo);

    Attaching full code ... Our case is the RPT files are stored wih default parameters and saved data. We need to let users just refresh the rpt files with latest db data and overwrite with the same rpt files. But this code keep showing The application server failed mesg. when the refresh icon of viewer is clicked.
    Attaching the code as it is not properly attached in my previous reply ...

    d3d8thk.dll
    That one is a DirectX 8 module and might not be included in the most recent DirectX 9 redistributable available from Microsoft. If it's been installed as part of a partial DirectX 8 install (as part of a game for example), that can cause the issue. Can you track down a full DirectX 8 redistributable? If so, if you install that, does that clear up the iTunes error?

    @EJB(name="ejb/Hello1",
         beanInterface=Hello1Local.class,
         beanName="Hello1Bean")
    public class Hello2Bean implements Hello2Remote {
        @EJB private Hello1Local hello1bean;
        public String getHello2() {
            return hello1bean.getHello1();
    There is no problem looking up Hello2 Bean using an Application Client such as the following:
    public class LocalHelloApplicationClient {
        @EJB(name="Hello2")
        private static Hello2Remote hello2Bean;
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            System.out.println("hello2Bean.getHello2(): " + hello2Bean.getHello2());
    }There is also no problem doing JNDI lookup (from a Stand-Alone Client the same bean if both Hello1 and Hello2 were created by themselves. ie not part of an Enterprise Application (EAR) build. However, I am wondering whether it is possible to do JNDI lookup of the same bean (Hello2) that is part of an Enterprise Application (EAR) built. Below are the type of JNDI lookup entries that I have tried without success:
    public class StandalonePojoCallHelloWorld {
        public static void main(String [] args)
            try
                InitialContext jndiContext = new InitialContext();
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("ejb.Hello2Remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.Hello2.remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.ejb.Hello2Remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.Hello2Remote");
                                                                     or
                Hello2Remote hello2Bean =  (Hello2Remote) jndiContext.lookup("LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication-ejb.Hello2Remote");
                System.out.println("hello2Bean.getHello2(): " + hello2Bean.getHello2());
            catch (javax.naming.NamingException ne)
             ne.printStackTrace();
    They all came up with the same error message:
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication.LocalHelloEnterpriseApplication-ejb.Hello2Remote not found

    Hello
    I've somme problems to get access to ejb interface from remote stand-alone client.
    Here is my EJB code :
    package stateless;
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    @Stateless(name = "TestSB", mappedName = "ejb/stateless/TestSB")
    public class TestEJBBean implements TestEJBRemote {
        public String getMessage() {
           return "Hello EJB World";
    }And the remote interface :
    package stateless;
    import javax.ejb.Remote;
    @Remote
    public interface TestEJBRemote {
        String getMessage();
    } In client side, i just edit main.java like this :
    package testclient;
    import java.io.FileInputStream;
    import java.util.Properties;
    import javax.naming.InitialContext;
    import stateless.TestEJBRemote;
    public class Main {
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
            Properties props = new Properties();
            props.load(new FileInputStream("jndi.properties"));
            InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(props);
            TestEJBRemote testEJB = (TestEJBRemote) ctx.lookup("ejb/stateless/TestSB");
            System.out.println(testEJB.getMessage());
    }here is my jndi.properties file (my glassfish server IP is 192.168.0.10) :
    java.naming.factory.initial = com.sun.enterprise.naming.SerialInitContextFactory
    java.naming.factory.url.pkgs = com.sun.enterprise.naming
    java.naming.factory.state = com.sun.corba.ee.impl.presentation.rmi.JNDIStateFactoryImpl
    org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialHost = 192.168.0.10
    org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialPort = 3918when i run client on the same machine than the glassfish app server, it works fine.
    But i run it on the different machine than the glassfish app server (on the same LAN without firewall), it fails with this error message :

  • Partial redeployment of archived app

    Hello.
    So, as in subj:
    What I have: deployed war on weblogic, with a single jsp inside
    What I want: to redeploy only that jsp without redeploying entire war.
    When I try to use partial redeployment task with deltaFiles specified, I get DeploymentException: A partial update of an archived application is not allowed.
    It is fully described here
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11035_01/wls100/messages/DeployerRuntime.html
    But
    I wonder if there is some walkaround of this situation, maybe somebody has done smth similar.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Frf,
    You can partially deploy some part of your applications on the Server like following: http://jaysensharma.wordpress.com/2010/02/08/redeploying-a-single-jsp/
    In your ANT Task you can write then following to update new resources (Classes) in your WAR ...:
    <target name=”reBuildWAR”>
    <font color=maroon>
    <war destfile=”YourWarArchieve.war” update=”true”>
    <classes dir="dest/"/>
    </war>
    </font>
    </target>
    To Change the Library of your App:

    2-----> OIM is in to Running Mode but when we tried to access it we are getting the following error.
    Error 404--Not Found

    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.

The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
    Thank you

    Hi even I am getting the same error now. I had done some branding changes in iam-consoles-faces war file and then replaced the original one and restarted the server. But then the server started throwing this error and OIM application is not deployed at all so unable to access the oim console. Did you find a solution for this?? Can anyone please help me. Its rather urgent. Also before these errors stated above are thrown I get the following two lines on the server logs :

  • XCreateIC fails intermittently on Solaris utf-8 locale

    Hi,
    I'm using motif 2.1 and Xlib of Solaris 8 (i.e. /usr/openwin/lib/libX11.so). In my application I'm using Drawing Area widget for text editing. I'm trying to create a input context for Root-Window input style. The following XCreateIC() call fails intermittently on utf-8 locale, while the same problem is not happening on non-utf-8 locale e.g. ja_JP.eucJP.
    ic = XCreateIC (im, XNInputStyle, XIMPreeditNothing | XIMStatusNothing, XNClientWindow, xim_win, NULL)) == NULL)
    printf("\nXCreateIC failed.\n");
    return (0);
    I'm not able to identify what is going wrong. Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Issue resolved. I reinstalled XManager.
    Now it works fine.
    Kind regards,
    Daniel

  • GetThumbnailAsync failing intermittently

    Hi,
    As I can't get the associated application for a filetype, see:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/225d7822-a429-4816-b4d5-408daf3db5ac/get-icon-of-associated-application?forum=winappswithnativecode
    I'm using getThumbnailAsync(ThumbnailMode::SingleItem, 100) but this fails intermittently on different files with a HRESULT of E_PENDING.  Is there any way I can avoid this? If not what are my options, reissuing the call etc.
    Thanks for the help

    Hi,
    What's meaning about fails intermittently on different files with a HRESULT of E_PENDING? Do you meand when you use getThumbnailAsync(ThumbnailMode::SingleItem, 100) on the same type of files, the thumbnails are different. If so, there is no wany to handle
    that.  For music file, if the file has album art, the thumbnail is the album art and uses the original aspect ratio of the file. Otherwise, the thumbnail is just an icon. You can see the link to get more information:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh465350.aspx

  • I was updating Firefox from version 6 to version 7, after updating I tried to open Firefox and the message I got is this: This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found. How can I fix this?

    I was updating Firefox to the newest version 7.0.1 from version 6.0.2 I think it was, I clicked the restart Firefox button that always comes up after updating. It started updating and then Firefox never restarted like it was supposed to after it was done updating. I then tried to open Firefox and it told me "This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found." I did have Firefox crash on maybe about 30 minutes or so earlier which bothered me because I have been using Firefox for years and never had it crash on me before but I didn't think much of it at the time it happened because I was able to go back onto Firefox and finish what I had been working on. A while later I checked for updates and updated. The first time I tried to update it didn't work though so I had to shutdown Firefox and reopen Firefox and start the update a second time. It was after the second time that when I tried to open Firefox I got that message about failing to start because xul.dll can't be found. I filed a crash report when my Firefox crashed. This would have been around 1am-2am in the morning that Firefox first crashed and then wouldn't allow me to open it after updating. I have a DELL laptop running the Windows XP operating system but the laptop is probably at least 6 or 7 years old. The laptop will no longer charge so I always have to have it plugged into an outlet. Both my laptop hard drive and my external hard drive give me messages that I am running out of disk space on my hard drive. I bought this laptop 6 or 7 years ago second hand so it could be even older. In short it's a piece of crap and it gives me all kinds of issues but I currently can't afford a new one, but I have never had any problems with Firefox and I use Firefox more than any other aspect of my laptop so it's really really bothering me. May you please help me fix it?

    Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. No matter what I do I can not get Firefox working again. No matter how many times I try to redownload it. Any other suggestions?

    i just tried to install the 11.4 update (or whichever one is the most recent update as of 1/26/2014) and when it failed i tried to install manually and now whenever i try to use it, i get the following error: "The application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Right after i click ok i then get this error: "Itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall Itunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)." I tried to uninstall Itunes and then reinstall the 11.03 version but that didnt work either. I want to know if i copy all of the music in my itunes folder to an external without consolidating can i still transfer all my itunes music from my current windows xp pc to a brand new one and have my current itunes library in my new pc? Basically i just want to know 3 things: What exactly does consolidating the itunes library do? Can i copy, paste, and transfer my itunes library to an external and from there to a new pc? Will i be able to transfer my itunes library without consolidating the files?

    I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed.  It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4).  Please see and follow the procedure in the following article:http://smallbusiness.chron.com/reverting-previous-version-itunes-32590.html   The previous version works beautifully.
