Partial retirement in fixed assets

Hi,
we are having one strange fixed asset problem.. today we have processed all the fixed assets transactions from january to may
2000.. we did a partial retirement of an asset in dec 2001.. like we had 4 units of it and we retired 1 becaz it was stolen..
the transaction worked in december everywhere (like in fixed assets, general ledger)..now in 2002 this transaction is there
in fixed assets but not showing in General ledger so our fixed asset is not matching with general ledger.. so can someone
suggest that where we did the mistake??? any help will be highly appreciated..please let me know if i'm not clear enough
becaz i'm new to oracle finance...
Thanks.

  • Partial Retirement for Asset

I have an Asset with Asset number 1000, and this asset has inventory number of 31000, which has to items in this inventory number, ie: 31001 and 31002.
I want to have partial retirement for this asset, ie: I want to sell item 31001 only.
What are Tcode or ways that I can use?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello
Choose Posting ® Retirement ® Retirement with revenue ® No customer
    Enter the asset.
Check the date specifications, and make any necessary entries on the Transaction data tab page. If you do not enter an asset value date, the system automatically determines this date when you save.
Enter the revenue in the Specifications for revenue group box. Enter the:
    Revenue amount
Depreciation area, from which the net book value should be used as the revenue amount
Enter additional posting information (such as document type) and the transaction type on the Additional details tab page.
In addition, you can also enter costs here that arose from the retirement. However, these costs are posted only as asset line items. However, there is no integration of this posting with cost accounting or the general ledger.
If you do not enter a transaction type, the system automatically determines one when you save.
To post a partial transfer, enter a posting amount, a percentage or a quantity on the Partial transfer tab page. Specify whether the retirement applies to prior-year acquisitions or to current-year acquisitions.
The system determines the appropriate transaction type automatically.
If you do not make any entries on this tab page, the system carries out a complete transfer.
Enter a text for the posting document on the Note tab page.
    Save.
Using this transaction, it is not possible to:
Manually enter different amounts for different depreciation areas
Have the system propose depreciation areas for certain transaction types
If you need to use one of these functions, then use transaction ABAO.

  • Group Asset Partial Retirement

    Dear All,
I am using Group Assets and I would like to partially retire an asset attached to the group asset. The issue is that SAP is making a positive adjustment on the current year depreciation, and only this year's depreciation is incorrect. All the following years depreciate correctly, according to the newly calculated NBV. Does anyone know if there's something in Customizing that I can adjust or will my users have to manually re-adjust this?
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    E.

    Hi Sharif,
I think system is correctly posting to loss/gain account to the externt sales value and net book value difference. It should not go to asset logically, don't you think so? Why do you think it should go to asset?
I hope this clarifies your doubts.
    Thanks!!!

  • Depreciation On Retired Fixed Assets

Need assistance in troubleshooting an error reported during depreciation process. Error occurs when starting the process "GAINS/LOSS" section of the run. It reports error in CCID for a particular asset which has been retired due to sales. We've checked already checked all set-up relating to depreciation & retirement, which looks ok. Process goes through without error when we "unretire" the asset.
Any suggestions on what else to look out for?
    WY Yap (m'sia)

    Hi
Th reason for this is that retirement (scrapping) is calculated
as netbook value - less planned depreciation from the start fiscal year
until date of retirement) disregarding depreciation runs for the
    period
Note 1162647 it does not explain this particular scenario
but in general refers that retirement is based on calculation on
    planned annual values
    Example:
    Fixed asset values
start fiscal year 2008 (start 01/01/2008) is 1200
the useful life is 24 months = 50 to be depreciated per month
last depreciation run was for period 01/2008 , meaning the
    netbook value was after that 1150 =(1200 - 50)
Then  post retirement (total scrap) on 01/06/2008
The system will do retirement for the values calculated for the year
    950  = (1200- 250 ) being 250 = 50 * 5 months (from start fiscal year
    until date of retirement)
The depreciations will also being calculated and executed from
start fiscal year until date of retirement)
If this is not the case, I am afraid that you have to log a message on Sap portal for the assistance.

  • Partial fixed asset transfers

    Hi Experts,
In partial fixed asset transfers, why do we need to indicate whether it is a prior-year acquisition or current year acquisition? Why cannot the system pick this information?
Really appreciate your insight in this regard.
    Thanks in advance,
    Em Jay

    Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply. But I need more clarification, here the assets need to have new cost centers updated in their master data.
Will ABUMN help in this case? I mean this is master data change in assets so how can we change it by transfer?
    Thanks

  • Partial retirement by quantity in assets

    Hi
I would like to know how the system calculates the values if we retire assets partially by quantity. the asset has current and prior year acquisitions
please let me knwo the calculation procedure
    Thanks in advance
    Anand

    Hi,
    Acquire Quantity = 10 (2010) X 100 = 1000
    Partial Retire =  4 (2011)
    Dep for 2010 = 10% X 12 = 120
    Current 10 Quantity Value =  880
Now you Retaire Q u201C4u201D here system calculate Total Amount / Total Quantity X Retired Q  (800/10X4= 320)

  • Question on fixed asset reports

    Hello all,
I work in the real estate accounting department of a large retailer. At quarter/year end we are required to prepare a set of workpapers to support the fixed asset ledger and related P&L accounts. Currently, we are using the following reports:
    To support asset account activity:
S_ALR_87011967 – Asset balances by site
    S_ALR_87012050 – Asset acquisitions
    S_ALR_87012052 – Asset retirements
    S_ALR_87012054 – Intracompany asset transfers
    To support P&L account activity:
    FBL3N – G/L account line items
The problem we are running into is that, for example, impairment losses are processed by retiring all the assets of the company and reacquiring them at the new fair market value. The net difference is the loss on impairment. Unfortunately, it shows up in our reports as a very large retirement followed by a very large acquisition. These need to be netted together on our schedules for the auditors. The problem right now is that we don’t have a good detail report to find impairment retirements/acquisitions, for when we select “list assets” in the retirements or acquisitions report it gives a hierarchical style report, which is almost impossible to export and process in Excel.
So, my question is really twofold. Firstly, is it possible to turn off the hierarchical setting of a retirements or acquisition report when “list assets” is selected? Ideally, I'd like to see all the same data on a single row.
Secondly, my real dream report would be more of a standard general ledger with a beginning balance, activity, and ending balance for the period that I could use for all my balance sheet and P&L accounts. I’ve tried using the FBL3N report for the balance sheet accounts and it works okay, but I haven’t been able to figure out how to get it to show the transaction types from the fixed asset ledger. I read something in another post that talked about using the BWASL field to show the transaction types, but I wasn’t able to locate it in the available fields list. Do I need to do something special when I run the report?
    Thank you so much!

    Hi Andreas,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!
I thought a custom query would probably be best. I'll need to request access to the transaction before I can try it out, but I'm sure I'll have a bunch more questions to bug you with when I do!
    Thanks again,
    William

  • Fixed asset error: 21151: error while posting asset document: '100000039'

    Hello Experts,
How are you? We have a client who have encountered an error during fixed asset retirement thru scrappingu2026.In one retirement document, SAP did not assign an account in the account column but still the document was saved but with erroru2026On her next retirement document, she could no longer save her document and the error points to the last retirement document she has saved with error.  We have tried to cancel the document and its journal entry but still she could no longer retire assets  using scrapping.  All other retirement transaction using scrapping could not be saved.
The client is using SAP B1 8.81 patch 5.
    Thanks and best regards,

  • Automatic VAT code during fixed asset PO creation

    Hi all,
We have a classic AUC acquisition process : through MM with IO allocation.
My question is = is it possible to automatically affect one VAT code relating to fixed asset acquisition during purchase order creation? (and not VAT relating to goods and services acquisition, we have to distinguish both with french rules).
The person in charge of PO creation don't have to choice between VAT codes, this is the reason why VAT code has to be affected automatically.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
    Best Regards

    Hi Ocean,
if you use as91 you have to enter as followed:
    ***.acquis.val.     120.242,00 <- enter
    ***.down paymts
    ***.reval.of RV
    ***.invst.grant
    Accm.ord.deprec     70.809,18 <- enter
    ***.Spec.dep.
    ***.unplnd.dep.
    ***.reserves
    ***.reval.O.dep
Net book value     49.432,82 <- calculated automatically
    ***. interest
    Reval. posted
    Ord.dep.posted     3.340,06 <- enter
    Pstd.spec.dep.
    Pstd.unpl.dep.     0,00
    Res.posted
Of course SAP reverses the amount because it is entered as ord dep. posted (this means current fiscal year!!!) insted of accm. ord. depr. (depr. up to 31.12.2007)
The ***. depreciation up to 31.12.2007 has to be enterend in ACCM. ord. deprec.
The *** and posted depreciation from the current year has to entered in ORD.DEP.Posted, pls. have a look at my calculation.
How to correct the fields Ord.-dep. posted and Accm ord. dep? This depends on many parameters:
Have you carried out the datantransfer already in the P-System????
Any other postings for SAP AM already carried out
How many assets have to be changed.
You can reset the Companycode in AM (only recommendable if deprun is not posted and no other postings - retirements, aquisitions transfers have been entered). Then start a new upload
Even lsmw and a BI-recording as92 with the last screen could be a solution.
At least if you have only a few assets - correct them manually - it's not worth the effort to create a BIR and a LSMW - the user is faster.
    Best regards

  • How to clear all fixed assets in SAP Business One

Client wants to clear all fixed assets and create new ones. What is the best way to do it.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
My assumption is that your customer is using 9.0, is it?
I assume that the reason is because there was a mistake during the implementation, meaning that assets created using the application or using import fixed assets master data from excel are not what the user wanted.
The existing rule is that only assets in status 'new' can be removed, and this is a consistency requirement, both technical and from accountancy point of view.
So if the asset is not in status 'new' , it cannot be removed.
What you can do is cancel all transactions generated for the asset, acquisitions, retirements, etc, starting from the last, transaction, until you cancel the first.
Then you execute again depreciation run, to ensure any automatic posted depreciation is reverted.
This way the asset will remain in the system, but with no value. And you can eneter the new assets that will substitute them.

  • GL balances are not matching with Fixed assets ledger

    Hi,
    Please suggest me regarding this...
The issues is:when the legacy balances are uploaded in to sap there was the mistake.3 assets were entered twice(once in asset class 1250 & once in asset class 1300).It causes the GL balances are not matching with Fixed Asset balances(GL is less than FA).so now the client is asking to make manual entry by removing the recconcilation account settings and post manual entry then keep the reconcilation account as usual. They wanted to reverse the accumulated depreciation for the above 3 duplicated asssets for year 2007 & 2008.
How can i achieve the below:
1.GL balance was not equal (i.e lower) to FA ledger even at the time of go live(FI is lesser than FA)
2.For this i need to post one manual entry in FI-GL with the GO-LIVE date.is it possible? suggest me how to post?
3.After that i need to reverse the accumulated depreciation for the above 3 duplicated assets.how can i do this?
4.After that i need to remove the above 3 duplicated assets, how can i?
Please help me by giving your thoughts regarding this
    Thanks
    Sap Guru

    Hi,
It is possible to post the adjustment entry from go live date provided you open the posting periods for the pervious year. (However this approach is not recommended for the following reasons - you have closed the books and must have published the results to local authorities. Adjustment now in the past year can cause some trouble from auditors etc. Secondly you are adjusting the GL balance for the last year, so you will have to complete the period end and year end closing for GL balances. So avoid kindly it)
For your problem - Go to transaction code OASV and post adjustment entry for the current period. Also check if your field status of assets contain field for shutdown of assets. If not change your field status accordingly. Once adjustment is done you shutdown the asset so that it does not post depreciation in future depreciation runs. (this will cater to your need of eliminating the assets. If you retire the asset then you will have to deal with gain or loss on retirement of an asset. If you can accommodate this entry, then you can use this figure in the final adjustment entry.)
Or Go to transaction code OAMK and set the recon account to post the adjustment entry.
Reversal of depreciation is not possible in SAP. So the only way to reverse the accumulated depreciation is by changing the recon account or using OASV, and passing adjustment entry.
    regards
    Thomas
