Partition Exchange Swapping the data instead of Increment

can somebody help me with the below scenerio:
I have two tables stg_dim and final_dim table.
It is working for first time loading but when i load second time into same partition swapping the data between two tables.
For example :
first time i loaded data from staging to main table on April 5th with 100 rows .Data got inserted into Main table for Apr-Partition .When i try on 6th Apr(2nd time) to load the data(say 99 rows) into Apr-Partition data is swapping like 99 rows loading into main table and 100 rows going to staging table.

Not sure I gogt you right and I am not sure you got your explanation or problem right.
How do you manage to swap the data into two tables if you that is not what you specify inyour control files?. Can you post your control file? Or explain better

  • How to Swap the Data between 2 characteristics using FOX Code

    Dear All,
    We have a requirement to swap the data between 2 characteristics. I tried to get the data from one characteristics using BPS variable VARV() and another characteristic need to get from craters data. But using OBJV() function it is not working for that.
    If i try to swap the data between characteristics directly, they are not allowing. It says Type is not same, though it is same type as per properties wise.
    Could anybody let me know is it possible to change the characteristics data between characteristics by moving between each other in FOX Formulas. General case it is possible to change the data between same chars.
    Thanking you in advance.

  • How to store the data instead of memoryengine to database when use XML file

    Hi Experts,
    I have doubt which is into XML to database data transfer.
    While transferring the data from XML to database the tables will be store in memory for the xml files, my aim is instead of storing this in memory engine
    is there any way to store the data in to the data base itself..
    I am assuming when the data size increases say for example huge amount data, storing this much of data is big issue here right, so to avoid this is there any way to store
    this data directly in the database level.
    Please understand my requirement or else I have the good explanation about my requirement and please assist me how do this job....
    Thx,

    Hi Experts,
    For this job I have applied the

    my schema name is wrk_admin
    xml file name is mydata
    jdbc driver: localhost:1521:xe
    Encoded password: I have encoded the pwd from cmd:c:oracle\oracle_odi1\oracledi\agent\bin\encode wrk_admin
    The above are the details I have applied to my ODI studio for creating the dataserver.
    After applying this I got the following error.

  • How do I swap the data (completely) between two Macbooks?

    I am trying to swap my computer with my mums as hers is newer and has more memory; and I have run out! Is it possible to do this without losing everything?

    If the issue is that your internal hard drive space is used up, swapping to your mothers computer will involve writing her computers data to an external hard drive, erasing her computer hard drive, then copy your data to it, erase your hard drive, then copy her data to it. That can be done without losing anything.
    Why not get an external hard drive to move some of your data off your internal drive?  It's just a guess, but you don't have a backup external drive today? If you get an external hard drive, get it larger than your hard drive so you can put two partitions on it, one for backup and one for data you want to store. Then move audio/visual/whatever files to the external hard drive and delete them on your internal drive.
    Another option would be just to get a larger hard drive installed in your system. This can be done without losing data, too.

  • Partition exchange loading for specific subpartitions

    Hi All,
    Looking at an archive strategy - where we have to archive a specific dataset.
    Rather than a insert/delete routine - I was thinking of using partition exchange.
    The to-be archived table is interval range partitioned on date, with a list subpartition on country.
    It is for specific countries that I want to partition exchange.
        create table
        test_table
        (tbl_id number,
        country varchar2(2),
        sales_dt date,
        volume number)
        partition by range (sales_dt) interval (NUMTOYMINTERVAL(1,'Month'))
        subpartition by list (country)
        Subpartition template
        (subpartition p_ireland values ('IR'),
        subpartition p_france values ('FR'),
        subpartition p_other values (DEFAULT))
        (partition before_2008 values less than (to_date('01-JAN-2008','DD-MON-YYYY'))); The data loaded falls into the partitions and subpartitions correctly. All the partitions names are system generated.
    When I come to partition exchange for all the 'FR' subpartitions- I can't determine the logic.
    Using
        Alter table test_table
        exchange subpartition system_generated_name
        with table TEST_TABLE_ARCH;I can swap out a specific 'known' subpartition.
    I know you can use the 'for' logic with Oracle 11g but can't get the syntax to work.
    Any ideas?

    The error means you are trying to swap a partition that still contains data in a configuration where OWB expects an empty partition. How did you set the "Replace existing data in Target Partition" configuration parameter?
    Also, for more details on PEL, review the 10.19 to 10.27 pages of the user manual.

  • Partition Exchange

    We are in the process of moving data from regular tables to partition tables. The scheme is to make the partition tables first and then insert the data from its parent original table to these new partition tables. My understanding is that, partition exchange only occurs between a table and a selected partition and vice versa. Since the original table has data which would move to separate partitions, how it could be accomplished by exchange.
    Here is an example. The original TABLE is Called X and it has data on column(Y), 1, 2, 3, 4, ...... We built a partition table PARTX on column Y with Partition_1, partition_2, partition_3 etc. Now can we use the partition exchange for it ? If not what would be a good startegy to transfer the data.
    Thanks.

We built a partition table PARTX on column Y with Partition_1, partition_2, partition_3 etc.The basic requirements for a partition exchange is that the table and partitioned table must have the same structure and same indexes. (i.e. the table's indexes must match the local partitioned indexes).
    Also, it is not a transfer of data. The table owns the data and indexes of X. The partitioned table owns the data and indexes of partition PARTX. The partition exchange simply changes ownership. The partition now owns the table's data and indexes and vice versa.
    As this in an exchange of ownership, it is a very effective method of swapping GBs (or even TBs) of data in and out of a partitioned table within milliseconds. In other words, a very effective data management tool.
    Now can we use the partition exchange for it ? If not what would be a good startegy to transfer the data.That depends on what problem you are trying to solve and what requirement you are trying to address... The requirement dictates which tool to use.
    I suggest you read chapter 18 of the [Oracle® Database Concepts|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14220/partconc.htm] guide that deals with partitioned tables and indexes.

  • The data of my materialized view....in the while

    Hello
    We have problems with materialized views
    We have one wich re-build each a short period of time
    ¿Can i avoid the data to dissapear in the time process of refresh?
    Is so annoing to our clients to see that "from time to time" the data just dissapear for one period of time -the time while the materialized view is refreshing-

    > Is so annoing to our clients to see that "from time to time" the data just dissapear for

    Have a similar problem. And dealing with large data volumes that makes the DELETE of the MV a very undesirable feature. Not as much a the resource footprint required, but the time it takes to do this - and the very tight processing windows that exist.
    The solution is a self-rolled and very likely not ideal for most - but it works well enough for us in production.
    No MV. Create a partition table. Create a staging table. Do a manual "full refresh" of the staging table (TRUNCATE and direct path INSERT). Follow this by a partition exchange with the partition table (no validation and including indexes). The result is that the data is replaced in the partitioned table within a second - no long running and expensive DELETE. End-users not effected by having a truncate pulling the data from beneath their reports.

    Hi All,

    insert into mytable values(11,2,'20110901');

    insert into mytable values(15,2,'20110905');
    insert into mytable values(16,2,'20110906');
    Col3 data have the date value in the form of yyyymmdd format.
    I want to create a 30 partitions on the basis of day on col3.
    how can i achive this. i tried range partition but how can i get day of col3?
    any help appriciated.
    Edited by: P:) on Sep 28, 2011 5:56 PM

    Hi,
    the first point would be to use the correct data type for col3 and make it a date. Then I can see no reason why you couldn't range partition based on the date.

  • Notification Center should have the date too

    I have an iPod touch last generation and i have the  calendar app in the bottom deck so every time I have to check the date I just press the home button (if I am writing a email or something like that) but I think it could be a lot better if the notification center had the date too! Either in a place designated by apple or by the user. In fact I don't even use the weather app. I will really use the date instead of the weather. Right now I disable the weather.
    Also I don't get all the Facebook notifications (I get some) do I have to leave the app running to get all the notifications or can I close the app (closing app by tapping home button holding and taping red dot)?
    Does anyone else feels the same about the calendar app?
    (yes I am running ios5)

    Spot on. We need the date easily accessible from all apps. Notification center is the right place. Maybe a redesigned calendar widget with the date and the next appt will do.
    Little tweaks like this keep bringing us back to the JB year after year!
    Thanks.

    Hey Ravi,
    As you said it is urgent to deliver the report, i will suggest you temporary solution while i debug the program.
    In the FM "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY", use layout to generate your sorted report for now as shown following:
    <b>DATA:   G_VARIANT LIKE DISVARIANT.</b>
    CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
      EXPORTING
         I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM = SY-REPID
         IS_LAYOUT = I_LAYOUT
         IT_FIELDCAT = RT_FIELDCAT
         IT_EVENTS = I_EVENT
         IT_SORT = L_SORT
         <b>is_variant = g_variant</b>
      TABLES
         T_OUTTAB = ITAB.
      IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
      ENDIF.
    Where g_variant is your custom layout which you will make as default for output.
    Hope this helps and let me know if you need more details.
    In the mean time, i will look in to the program.
    Regards,
    Vicky

  • Why is the date picker icon is not showing on the PDF file?

    Hi,
    I added a date field on a form.
    I can see the date picker icon when viewing the form online but when I download and open the PDF to my computer and open it on Adobe Reader that icon doesn't show up.
    It's important since my users then need to manually enter the date instead of choosing it on the graphic interface (some of my users are older so need all the help they can get)
    Is there an option or something I missing to make the date picker icon show up on the actual PDF file as well?
    Thanks

  • Section of the data collected with PCI 1422 card connected to a CCD camera looks step-like

    I am using the PCI 1422 card with a DALSA CA-D1-0128T camera to acquire and save fluorescence data from a heart stained with a potentiometric dye. The camera is set to work at 490 frames per second. My acquisition program (made using a producer consumer loop in Labview 2009) works fine most of the times, but sometimes a small section of the collected data looks step-like (not continuous). I have attached herewith a word document containing a snap of the data. Could you please give me some suggestions as to why this happens and how can I rectify it?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Anuj,
    First, this sounds like a very cool application.  What are you measuring? Is it in vivo?
    I believe that I see what you are referring to--is it where your cursor is that you are seeing the "step" problem?  Also, could you give us a little more information aboutwhat type of data we are looking at?  Is this some sort of image analysis data?
    In terms of code structure, due to the way that LabVIEW handles image data types (it is essentially a pointer to the data instead of the data itself), I wouldn't recommend passing an image via a queue.
    So, please let me know a bit more about what type of data we are looking at, and what your code looks like, and I'll be happy to help.
