Partition not found- While deploying to managed server
We are using 11gR1. We have configured a soa managed server. While deploying Sales demo application in BPM Studio, we set up connection to the Admin Server and when we test the connection it is successful. During the last step of deployment, where the SOA managed server is prompted, SOA server is listed properly but we get a message saying that partition is not available.
We went to EM and found that there is a default partition, we also created a new partition and restarted both the servers. But still we face the same error. The Log gives the following information:
<Error> <RepositoryPartitionModel.class> <BEA- 000000> <Getting Partitions>
Is this a product bug or are we missing out on anything.

I am also having the same problem. Were you able to find out the solution for this issue. I currently manually deploy the GUI EAR from the admin console and the SAR file from the EM.

Hi Ram,
This error comes generally when your webdynpro project does not have an application. To create an application in your webdynpro project follow the underlying steps:
<Project>->WebDynpro->Applications ---> right click and create New Application.
Follow the steps to create the application.
Now if you create archive and deploy, it will not give you the error again.

Partition not found while installing
I have made a second partition with Boot Camp, I can see the HD icon named " BOOTCAMP" on my desktop. But when I want to install windows and I have to select the correct partition (Bootcamp), it isn't there. There's only one partition.

what Windows are you trying to install, XP or Vista ?
With XP make sure that the CD is a XP with at least SP 2 (Service Pack 2) incorporated !
This is a must with BootCamp.
XP CD with SP1 or prior usually don't work woth Macs and BootCamp.
You can slipstream the SP2 into a SP1 XP using this procedure http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxpsp2slipstream.asp

Error while starting the managed server

While starting the managed server i get ClassNotFoundException for the following files.
oracle.as.jmx.framework.wls.spi.StartupListener - jmxframework.jar
oracle.security.jps.wls.JpsWlsStartupClass - jps-wls.jar
oracle.security.audit.ajl.loader.JEEAuditLoader
oracle.dms.wls.DMSStartup - dms.jar
oracle.core.ojdl.weblogic.ODLConfiguration - odl2.jar
oracle.ias.cache.Startup -
oracle.mds.lcm.weblogic.WLLifecycleListener
oracle.dms.wls.DMSServletFilter
When checked I found jars related to above classes in BEAHOME/jdeveloper/modules folder.
are the jars also present some where in weblogic related folders.
Also "wsil-wls" and "dms" applications are not properly deployed in the ManagedServer.
When I am trying to deploy another application in managed server i get DMSServletFilter ClassNotFoundException.
I tried to add the above jars from jdeveloper folder to the POST_CLASSPATH in setDomainEnv.sh but i still get the same ClassNotFOundException while deploying.
Which config file should i update?

If the deployment failed, then there will very likely be some mention in the log.
You state that you checked the log, but you didn't mention whether you found an error, no error, a successful startup, etc. you are providing painfully few details to assist.
I would bet if you posted your .log and .out logs to Pastebin.com - #1 paste tool since 2002 and provided us links, We would be able to point out the error.
Lacking that information, my best advice would be to re-install and double-check you're completing all steps in the correct order.
Also, be sure to always search the product documentation first, the search this forum. For basic issues (e.g., standard installation), there is a high probability that someone else has asked that question.

I get an error when deploying the PM samples. I have set the PM repository pointing to AFDEMO database
I have used to Java of BO dir as well as the program files\Java (1.6.03)
I run the runPublishUtil.bat and get the below error

Error while starting the managed server using nodemanager
HI ,
I am getting the below error while starting the managed server from the Admin console. All the serverstart and the node manager proeprties looks fine.
Below is the error in the managed server log,
startWebLogic.sh: grep: not found
startWebLogic.sh: uname: not found
startWebLogic.sh: test: argument expected

Could not create SOA as a Managed server
Hi
I Installed Oracle SOA suite and then I created the Weblogic domain. But the SOA server is not installed as a separate Managed server. I could not find anywhere create as a Managed server option while creating domain or installation.
The strange thing is that when I install BAM or OSB they appear as a Manged servers on Weblogic console but not SOA as I following the same process.
Please help me to figure out this problem.

As shown by your screenshots, your soa managed server is not started, that's the main reason you cannot see the "SOA" folder on EM.
EM is just a administration console and is per default deployed on the admin server. So it's normal that EM can be up and running while the "soa_infra", that should be target to the managed server, is down (since the managed server is not launched).
And no, when you launch your weblogic server with "startWeblogic.cmd" for example, it will only start the admin server of the domain.
If you want to launch your soa managed server you need to :
- use the "startManaged*.cmd" (don't recall the exact name) for a manual launch. Don't forget to give the name of the managed server you want to start as an argument of the script.
- register it as a service for an automated launch.

it shows server running in the log files as well as on the command console .
but when i try to access console or any other application it gives me error page

So please help me in debugging the problem

I am trying to deploy portal application to managed server instance. When i am deploying it to an admin server, deployment is fine but when i am deploying to managed server instance, it fails with following error:

Can you note that the it was fine when deployment was done to admin server.
I am not sure whether i have set up the managed server instance in the proper way. This is what i did to set up managed server instance before deployment
(1) create weblogic domain
(2) create managed server listening at port 8001. (admin is at 7001)
(3) created machine and in the node manager added the managed server to the machine just created.
(4) started node manager through script, started admin server and started managed server by
startManagedWebLogic.cmd managedserver admin_url
=> No errors so far. but now when i try to deploy portal application to managed server instance, it fails.
Any pointers???
(ps : can a moderator help me to move this message to the portal forum instead of here..thanx)

out. But it also happended before the time-out too. I had it set as default
at 30 minutes.

"Recovery partition not found" when trying to creat recovery discs.
I received the following error message when trying to create recovery discs for the first time "recovery partition not found" HP G61 401SA Notebook and it is a couple of years old and has windows 7 as th OS.
I specifically purchased DVD-R discs for the disc creation, which was advised from HP site was the only disc suitable.
Am I doing something incorrect or is there an issue?

One more thing, could you advise on how much space the recovery might be approximately - I will need to make sure a USB has enough memory available. Take another look at the disk management window. The partition sizes are visible in the descriptions. My HP loaner has a large recovery partition at >20GB. That mean I had to use a 32GB usb flash drive Most others are smaller and a 16GB usb flash drive will suffice.

Import not found when deploying to Standalone OC4J

I'm developing a small application, consisting of a few classes and a few jsp pages. I'm using JDeveloper 9.0.3.1 with the sun j2sdk 1.4.2 for windows.
I test my application with the embedded OC4J in Jdeveloper, and it runs fine. But when I deploy it to the standalone OC4J, I get this error:

This error does not happen when using the embedded OC4J server, only when deploying to the standalone. Since leaving JDeveloper up all times to use de app is not an option :) I really would appreciate any help towards solving this matter. I suspect it has to do with deployment options and whatnot, but I can't find anything wrong. Of course, I'm fairly new to this (jsp/OC4J), so it can be an obvious mistake right under my nose.

JavierFixed. The problem was my Standalone OC4J was not properly installed, AND I was doin the deplyment wrong. Now it works by creating a war file, deploying to the war file and THEN deploying to the OC4J Standalone connection.
So, if you start seeing "import not found" when deploying to standalone and it works on the embedded, check you war files to see if they REALLY are packing the classes they are supposed to carry. -

refind_linux.conf should be in the same directory as vmlinuz-linux and the initrd so it should be in /boot/ since that is where your kernel is.
In your refind.conf stanza you have the line volume "EFI system partition" which tells rEFInd that the loader is in that partition whereas the kernel and initrd files seem to be in /boot/ which is not the EFI System Partition. Hence the volume line needs to specify the filesystem where /boot is which in your case appears to be /dev/sdb5 so the volume line in that case should be volume "root" since root is the filesystem label for sdb5? Note that if you update to rEFInd version 0.8.0 or later then you can use the partuuid value to specify the volume but in the version you are using that token for the volume was not yet implemented.
In the stanza you quoted there was no terminating } but maybe you just didn't copy it to your post.
Making these changes may let the system boot to the arch kernel.
