Partner Pulling a Fast One?

Hi, have recentley moved to a new company, who have an existing telecomms services company managing their Phone system. As part of a series of network upgrades, I am proposing to install CCM as a secondary swtichboard to serve one of our new sites, and eventually migrate the existing system over. However, after obtaining quotes from a few partners, our existing provider (who is a gold partner) came back with the cheapest quote by far... however, they list the following in there quote:
1 x Call Manager Publisher Software
1 x Call Manager Subscriber Software
20 x Cisco 7911 IP Handsets
1 x ISDN30 Gateway
20 x Cisco Voicemail Licences
1 x Qsig Connectivity
and thats it... the quote was a little to good to believe, so I asked for a few details, e.g. part numbers, version numbers etc.. nothing that any other partner hadn't provided up front. They have so far point blank refused to provide any of those, claiming they sell 'solutions' as a whole!?!? Are they allowed to do this? Does this sound dodgy to anyone else?
Anyone got any advice?

Hi Will,
This is not completely unheard of from "Solutions" providers. Don't forget that as the customer here you get to make the ultimate purchasing decision! If you don't like the way they have presented their quote, let them know what you want and why. If they can't provide the details that you (and many others here) require, then go with another Partner/Provider. Don't forget the old saying;
"If it sounds too good to be true it probably is"
The other thing you can do is to come up with a detailed "Scope of Work" document that is part of the quote/bidding process. That way everyone is on the same page;
This type of document allows you to manage expectations on your part and of course from the suppliers perpective :) By working through the scope of the project in detail you will be able to mitigate potential problems that arise from not being on the "same page" as the prospective supplier.
Here are some excerpts from a great doc (written in the Providers perspective, but equally important from yours as well!);
"The Scope of Work sets expectations so that all parties understand what is included and excluded, the phases of the project or service, and the entry and exit criteria for each phase. By creating a well-defined Scope of Work that is based on a blueprinted service, you can minimize scope creep and design your service to proactively meet your customers needs.When designing a service, the Scope of Work should use the results from the service design process to produce a document that specifically spells out what is included and excluded in the service, as well as the team member responsibilities.
Service Scope: It is important to look at the service design and provide the high level detail of all that is included in the service. This would include technology areas covered, functionality included, and the ultimate deliverables. It's equally important to detail the service assumptions and exclusions. Additionally, list in detail what is not included in this service. This is a key area to think through in detail to prevent scope creep and delays. Identify potential points of delay or service failure, and if they're not in your control, specify that your service performance will be affected by any errors or omissions within these customer dependent systems.
Phase Responsibilities: For each phase, detail the responsibilities of both the customer and your organization. It's then easy to review the entire service prior to launch and spell out which actions are required by the customer. By stating the customer requirements in the Scope of Work, you can reference them in the assumptions section by indicating that if the customer responsibilities are not met in their appropriate phases, the timeline will not be met and the service objectives will be at risk.
Phase Deliverables: For each phase, describe and define the deliverables or outcomes of the specific phase. This will help all stakeholders understand the relevancy and importance of each phase relative to the service objective.
Phase Completion Criteria: Completion criteria, or boundary conditions, are critical for each phase. They act as toll gates or checkpoints to make sure that all responsible parties are contributing to reach the goal. In project management terms, they act as milestones to the service where critical actions need to be completed. Think of this in terms of a decision to move forward, or an acceptance of a phase deliverable.
The Finished Product
The completed Scope of Work can take on a variety of forms, but remember that this is ultimately a legal document binding you to perform the services as described."

    Only account group is differs to the onetime customer,remaining steps are same as normal customer so,
    -->First you need to maintain the nuber range to the one time customer account group as per your requirement.
    -->You need to assign the SP,BP,PY and SH partner functions to the One time customer account group in the partner determination -->Account group-Function assignment.

    i tried using crmd_order_maintain, but it only adds new partner in the transactino tab but not deleting the old one.
    if the execution partner field is blank then only it updates the execution partner with new one, otherwise it only adds the new execution partner in the transaction tab. leaving fast entry tab's execution partner unchanged...

    All these BP informations are stored in table CRMD_PARTER. So one way one is to Modify the table directly using MODIFY command. For that you need to understand table relationship between CRMD_ORDERADM_H CRMD_LINK and CRMD_PARTNER.

    We can add/update items without any problem.
    We can also add businesspartners without any problem.
    But when we try to update a businesspartner.

    Hi Bart,
    I think the problem is because you are using the BPService twice without initializing it one more time in the middle.
    You call first GetByParams and then Update.
    The following code works for me:

    6) rsa1 > infosources > search for 8cube1 > create infopackage and load data.

    Does SAP recommend multiple SAP-BW systems to pull data from the same R/3 system?
    If so then how does delta get get handled in such a scenario?

    I have a similar question.We currently have one R3 system connected to one BW system.
    Now, we have to connect another BW system and start extracting data for 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_BX.
    The delta loads are already happening for the existing BW system for these 2 datasources.
    I intend to follow the following steps :
    1) Lock all Material postings
    2) Transfer data from existing Extraction queue and then the Delta Queue for the 2 Datasources
    3) Delete SetUp tables
    4) Fill SetUp tables (MCNB and OLI1BW)
    5) Initialize Delta in new BW source system
    6) Unlock Material postings
    a) If I don't run the job for emptying the extraction queue, will ther be duplicate entries in the new BW system whenI run delta after Init? Which leads me to my second question, when data is transferred from extraction queue to delta queue, is it done for each target system?
    b) Can this whole process disturb the existing delta flow in the existing BW system.

    Instead of looping in to a work area and then chekcing the condition , you can directly specify the condition in the loop by which the loop will only execute on those which satisfy the condition thereby making it much faster

    It seems as though many people believe that having a lot of files or space being taken up on their hard drive will effect their speed. This is usually not the case. Usually a Mac with 2GB of free space will work just as well as a Mac with 50GB of free disk space depending on the amount of RAM one has. You have a fairly large amount of RAM, so you should feel free to use up plenty of disk space. OS X only needs about 1.5-2.0GB of free space to run efficiently.
    When was the last time you rebooted your Mac? Sometimes RAM becomes fully used, and the hard drive begins being paged which can significantly effect performance since hard drives are much slower than physical memory. Restarting your Mac will clear this RAM again.

    Hi,
    To copy files from one site collection to another site collection, the simplest way is to open document library in windows explorer view.
    Go to document library, click library tab, click open with explorer.
    You can open the document library1 in explorer then copy the files which you want to paste to another site collection
    document library2, then open the document library2 in explorer to paste the documents.

  • Pull more than one field into the same field in a report.

    I am attempting to put together a report in Visual Studio 2008. It seemed a simple report at first, but as I am creating the SQL, I am having a little trouble conceptualizing how to get it to work exactly as needed. Here is the issue...
    In this case, the report should show two rows for each department. One is the count of who within an audience (that will be set up as a parameter) completed a certain course (the course may also be a parameter). The next row should be
    a count, within that same department, of all users within the audience. Both counts should be within the same field on the report, but on different rows.
    My thought was to create two CTE's. One would contain the counts, by department, of everybody in the audience. The other would contain the counts, by department, of those within the audience who completed the given course.
    The problem is, though, I need to then have these two counts by department on two separate lines, and they should be within the same field. Basically, the idea is they are the numerator and denominator. There would also be a field before the count that would
    need to identify which one it is. For the sake of the example, call it "Measure_ID" and it would say "CourseCert" for the count of who completed the course and "CourseAvail" for the count of those who are part of the audience.
    Let me know if that makes sense, or if I can provide any further clarification to help you better understand what I am trying to achieve. Does anybody have thoughts on how to do this?

    Unfortunately, the counts need to be in separate rows. If they could be in the same row, it would have probably been a lot easier. I think I could have just done a couple "Case When" type formulas within the list of things under "Select."
    As it is, I need the two counts to show up under the same heading in separate rows. Unfortunately, the table structure of this database is very complicated. I think it would likely just further confuse things if I tried to share all of that detail here.
    That is why I was trying to be generic.
    Unless there is another easier way I am missing, I was thinking the easiest way to achieve what I needed was to use two CTE's. One would list all users by department who belong to a specific audience (the audiences are what we use to then assign them
    to certain courses, so the audience would be the people who are required to complete a certain course). The other would list all user by department who are in that audience and have completed a particular course. I think I am fine to complete that part.
    It is just getting them to then display as in my example that I am not sure how to do.
    The desired result, as you see in my example, has two lines per department, the first being a count of those who completed the course ("Certified"). The second line being a count of those who are required to complete it ("Available").
    Does that help? I was basically hoping somebody had an example they could use, just with fake table names so I could adapt it to my data. If it helps, though, let's pretend the two CTE's are like this:
    Table Name: Certified
    Table's purpose: This table would list all people who had completed the course.
    Fields:
    CourseName
    CourseCode
    AudienceName
    AudienceCode
    CompletionResult
    EmpCode
    DepartmentCode
    Table Name: Available
    Table's purpose: This table would list all people who are assigned to the audience.
    Fields:
    AudienceName
    AudienceCode
    EmpCode
    DepartmentCode
    The desired result would then count the EmpCodes, by department, from each table in that Measure_Amount field so it could display as I showed above. Does that make sense? I apologize if that does not help to clarify. I was trying to be as simple
    as possible so you could just use it as a generic example.
