I want to send http post parameters to a url from a WebDynpro (Java) component. I need to do this to send OCI catalog data back to SAP SRM.

Calling Portal application from current webdynpro java application

Hi Experts,
We are having Portal 7.4 SP6 framework.
Application-A -> Web-dynpro java program pushing data into R/3 using BAPI.
Application-B -> Std. WD-ABAP iView template.
Currently, I am working in web-dynpro java program, where I am pushing some data into R/3 using BAPI in Application-A. And this BAPI data is getting displayed in another z-Tcode and displayed in portal using web-dynpro Abap iView template, which is Application-B
Now I want to align this application, so that Application- A should call Application-B from within the WD-Java framework. And here Application-A should get closed and open application-B.
Is there any standard process using Web-dynpro Java to handle such scenario.

Well, I think you can go for Portal Navigation concept.
Please check the required source code in WDR_TEST_PORTAL_NAV Web Dynpro component. That will illustrate both Page based Navigation and Object based Navigation.

Dear Ajay,
Assuming that both your applications WDA & WDJ are in the portal & you don't have to pass any parameters to the WDJ application.
Write the following code on the action where you would call the WDJ application.
DATA:
        lr_compcontroller TYPE REF TO ig_componentcontroller,
        l_component TYPE REF TO if_wd_component ,
        lr_port_manager TYPE REF TO if_wd_portal_integration ,
        wa_navigation TYPE navigation.
lr_compcontroller =   wd_this->get_componentcontroller_ctr( ).
l_component = lr_compcontroller->wd_get_api( ).
lr_port_manager = l_component->get_portal_manager( ) .
* The value inserted into the navigation-target field can be found in the Portal
* content administration tab of your portal. It is the ID or PCD Location field
wa_navigation-target = pcd. " Please provide the PCD Location of the WDJ Application here.
wa_navigation-mode   = '0'. "0 = INTERNAL(same page) and 1 = EXTERNAL(new page).
CALL METHOD lr_port_manager->navigate_absolute
    EXPORTING
      navigation_target = wa_navigation-target
      navigation_mode   = wa_navigation-mode.
You can get the PCD from the Page properties of the WDJ application page in the Portal.

Lauching webdynpro java application

hi gurus
our scenario is like this..
when employee fills the educational assistance form (customized webdynpro java application) and clicks on the submit button , it should go for approval..while manager opens the workitem it should lauch the same WD form in display mode with approve and reject button. and when he approves ..it should update the data base & it should sends a intimation mail to the employee that his application has been approved...
MY QUESTIONS :
1) how to trigger a event from WD java application to start this workflow ...
2) how the values can be passed from WD application container to workflow container .i got some ideas by reading some forums for this i want to use SAP_WAPI_READ_CONTAINER , where i want to use this function module
3) it is better to use the user decision step for the approval process ? . if i am using this then i want to send the form as a attachment in user decision step, how it can be achieved ?
4)what all r the other settings i want to maintain .

I would definitely prefer to open a form with "Approve" and "Reject" buttons instead of having it as an attachment in a user decision step. Especially if it is a application where a user never approves without opening the attachment. For example i may not prefer to approve a leave requisition without viewing it! In that case it will just be an overhead for the user to open the form manually everytime before approving. So make a decision on this based on the use of your application.
Moreover it is not that tough either (atleast from a workflow perspective) to launch the webdynpro from UWL. Create a custom task and create appropriate entries in transaction SWFVISU (hope you are on or above ECC 5.0) to link your task and WD application. Thats it your application should be ready and shud be launched from UWL.
But definitely in a custom application your webdynpro developers need to do a lot of work (as we did one in our previous projects) irrespective of whether it is launched directly as a task or as an attachment.
Performacewise providing "Approve" and "Reject" will just increase one RFC call from your application (to complete your workitem).

But Iogin to sdm tool ( remote gui .sh) with same password, which password i am using for deploy the webdynpro java application.here in sdm tool i am able to login. and i restart the sdm , and again trying to deploy the same problem it showing.

For deploying Web Dynpro for Java application, J2EE_admin correct password must be stored in the scured area of config tool.
Your error show that J2EE_admin information is not correct.
So, Please ask your basis team to update new J2EE_ADMIN password or you can do it in scured area of config tool.

How to get the session reference of any Webdynpro Java Application . My purpose is that thr is one WD application is getting launched , now if suppose user didn't perform any action on it and session for that application got expired . After the session got expired i have to update the table with the status . So to track that i need the session reference of WD application which i m looking for .
How could i get the same . Kindly help me on this .

Hi Venkat,
You have 2 Value Nodes one for Table1 and second for Table2.
Table1 node having one more Value Attribute i.e check Box data type is Boolean. Now you are requirement are select records from Table1 Node and click on One Method that records will moves to Second Table2 Node.
Create One Method for getting the Records from 1-Table to 2-Table
CopytoTable2 ()
In this method you have to write code like this
If (wdContext.nodeTable1.Checkbox(true))
If(1. Check the Table1 Value Node Size()>0)
Get the Table1 records and set to table2 Value node.
Else
Please select check box// Error message

First of all you should create outbound plug in the window you are trying to exit with plufg type "Exit"
Then create method handler in the view with this code

              l_parameter type wdr_event_parameter,

        ASSIGN l_val_url->* to <fs_url>.
        <fs> = 'X'.
        <fs_url> = 'http://your-link.com'.
        l_parameter-name = 'URL'.
        l_parameter-value = l_val_url.
        INSERT l_parameter INTO TABLE l_parameter_list.
        lo_win_cntr->if_wd_view_controller~fire_plug( EXPORTING plug_name = 'EXIT_PLUG'
                                                                parameters = l_parameter_list ).
      You can easily change this logic to exit application instead of redirecting to the site
       just changing to
       l_parameter-name = 'CLOSE_WINDOW'.

MSS ECM - how to retrieve custom OADP column in Webdynpro java application

Great day to all,
We have created custom OADP column for MSS ECM planning in SPRO.
In Portal, ECM Plan Table, the column is visible. User enters values into that and toggles the tabstrip.
Before submitting, i need to capture that value in Webdynpro java.
My Question is,
How can i make use of that column in my ECM Application using webdynpro java??
or how can i retrieve the custom OADP columns in webdynpro java with out using RFC??

In OADP ,there are two types of columns , functional column which cannot be edited in web dynpro java application and another type is application column which can be edited in application and the value of this column is handled in application using rfc enabled function module. MSS ECM comes with certain application column whose values are handled in MSS-ECM application . If you are trying to add custom application column you will have to handle that column value in your Z function module and also at OADP level you should not configure supply function for that column.
In order to call custom Z function module to handle custom application column I would suggest to create a seperate Software component and development component and in that handle the logic for calling Z Function module. Also you will have to define the usage of custom Development component in the MES-ECM standard component.

Reading Excel sheet data in WebDynpro Java Application

I need to read an excel file which is stored locally in my computer. How to use upload UI element (in WebDynpro Java) ?
After reading the excel file the data is displayed in table structure in WD Java application. After doing some calculations on click of generate excel button the table data is translated into excel sheet. How to achieve this?
