Pass html request to java class

Hi.
I'm building an sms based jukebox for my sophomore project in computer science.
Things have been going well till now.
The basic project is this:
I have an sms gateway on the server side (pc). I'm using kannel open source sms gateway on cygwin. The pc is linked to a gsm mobile via a RS232 data cable. There is a media player (mp3) on the server side as well.
BASIC FUNCTIONALITY
A request sent by a user (using a gsm mobile) is receied by server via the gateway. Request is basically a predefined code for a song.
The gateway sends a html request to the server.
PROBLEM POINT
I cannot get the html request from the mobile gateway to be passed to the mp3 player.

gateway?Assuming that the gateway translates web requests into SMS messages and vice-versa (there is no standard Java thing for doing this) then yes, it will be possible. How you do that's between you and the gateway vendor, though.
I'd like for the system to be able to reply
to user requests by sms.If your gateway supports it, you can do it. Probably you want to create an HttpConnection object to aid you in this. But I recommend writing the incoming controls before you worry about the outgoing controls.

I got a peculiar question
My web container contains the following
a JSP page[b] page1.jsp
second JSP page page2.jsp
A servlet PushPage
A java class ContactServlet
What I want to achieve is when browser is displaying page1.jsp. The ContactSevlet.java class calls the servlet PushPage which redirects to page2.jsp
I am able to successfully load the servlet from ContactServlet.java since I am able to print the response(the contents of page2.jsp) on to console.
But the page2.jsp does not display on the browser, it still displays page1.jsp after servlet completes its function.
Any idea how can I make the page2.jsp to display on the browser?
In other words i should make the Servlet feel like the request has come from page1.jsp for page2.jsp.

Your ContactServlet program does makes a request to the "PushPage" servlet independant of the browser. In fact you may as well have just opened up a new browser window - it is the same effect.
In most cases the only way you can put a new page in the browser is if the browser requests it. So if you want something to be loaded into the browser with page1.jsp displayed in it, then that browser needs to make a request to the server.
The standard way of doing this is to either use a meta-refresh tag on the page, or a javascript window.setTimeout.
If you want a "push" technology, you might take a look at [url http://www.pushlets.com] pushlets . I haven't actually used them, but they might be applicable in this case.

Passing data to a java class

I've recently been working on a page that displays a list of objects using the h:dataTable tag. In each row of this table I display the name and group properties of a bean called "ace", as well as a command button next to each of them.
What I want is when one of these buttons is clicked, a java class will be able to grab the name and group in the row containing that button.
My question is this: how do I pass the name and group for that row to a java class?

Are you sure that the HashMap object is available for GC at the end of your controller code?
If your JVM Heap is relatively small compared to the size of your HashMap, then you can hit this issue. Analyze, if you really require such a huge collection on objects to work on, if there is no other alternative, then go ahead and do a memory turning to find out the optimum memory requirement / user and tune your JVM accordingly.

Pass table rowtype between java class and PL/SQL package

I am a complete newbie when it comes to java itself but I've been asked to investigate the possibility of passing a rowtype datatype from a PL/SQL package to a java class and vice versa.
I have heard of oracle.sql.ArrayDescriptor as an option but this appears to address only SQL types that are defined outside of a package.
I'm talking about using, say, SCOTT.EMP%rowtype instead of a user-defined type. I'm thinking that a java array could be defined from the definition of a table in the database but I don't know what class would be appropriate.
Could someone provide a simple proof-of-concept example that shows how you could use a java array to pass data to a package that is expecting a table rowtype variable and conversely a java class that reads the rowtype returned into a java array?
Would oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDatabaseMetaData be a way of doing this?

Not at all. I didn't feel like you misled me at all. I'm grateful for your help. I think that maybe I failed to describe my problem adequately in the first place.
 
Perhaps I've also gotten stuck on the term ref cursor.
 At any rate, the people I'm gathering information for have further refined their requirement. We want to take a collection of data and send it to a procedure. It doesn't have to be a "ref cursor" or "%rowtype" per se, but something that is maintainable and workable from both ends.
 
For example, to use the old SCOTT/TIGER paradigm, let's suppose we have a website where you can indicate which employees work for a given department. The website allows us to fill in information for multiple employees at once. We want to use a servlet that gathers all the employees data and sends it on through to a PL/SQL package so that the data is validated and committed in the database. 
Perhaps the java servlet should handle the multiple employee records as an array? If so, how can a PL/SQL procedure be made to recognize that construct? 
I can accept that java cannot create a "ref cursor" type to send information to a package, but might this be possible via some other implementation?
 
Hopefully this is a little more clear. If not, please let me know and I'll try to inject more details as to what we are trying to accomplish.

Can u Please post the WSDL..here. I remember long back i resolved this kind of issue...when i was getting "*parameters is already defined in - - -*" while using ClientGen.
Once i will get the WSDL may be i can recall it...
If u have any problem in Posting the WSDL..in Forums .. then let me know I will send my E-Mail Address...
As far as i remember ..it usually happens when we Run ClientGen task of WLS81 ON the WebService/WSDL generated by WebLogic 9.x or Above. Please let me know if this is the Case with you as well... . I remember there is a Patch for it...for WLS8 ClientGen task...I dont remember the Patch Number Exactly.
Just For testing:
Just Use WLS9.x ClientGen task On the Same WSDL

How to use URL class to execute a java class/app on a remote machine?

I am a beginner in Java networking and have a question about URL programming.
How do I pass parameters to a java class/application over the web and then cause it to execute ? I then want to get the result back from the clas/app. The class/app resides on a remote machine and the protocol used is "http" protocol. OR all this is not possible through the URL and related classes ?

How do I pass parameters to a java class/application over the web and then cause it to execute ? Using the HTTP protocl you can either perform a GET where the parameters are in the URL or a POST where the data is sent to the server with the request.
The server must be setup as a web server to execute code based ojn a HTTP request. Using a web server with a JSP which contains the code to execute is the simplest way to do this.
I then want to get the result back from the clas/app. The output of the JSP becomes in the data returned by the HTTP request.
I would suggest looking for example on google.

Another option is to use RMI. The integration is tighter but it does not use the HTTP protocol.

How can I execute a java class with arguments from an air application built from mxml?

I have an mxml application. It has a button, and when that button select event occurs, I want my mxml air app to pass arguments to a java class I have built, which resides in a package path on my system. I need to be able to pass several arguments to my java method from my mxml call. How do I do this, and what config files are necessary? For the simple task I want to engineer, can you show me an example of a properly configured config file? My java class has been executed at the command line in the past as follows:

where %CP% is an env variable that tells my class the classpath it runs with, and XYZ, "my message text", the IP address, and the port are the arguments I must pass from mxml to my java class. How do I accomplish this?

Java Class Web Service

Which the best way to make a webservice based on a java class in JDeveloper 10.1.2?
I need to make a webservice that make some queries in views of BPEL's dehydration DB, but I would not like that this webservice was a BPEL process in the Process Manager, with gone off instances being to each query. Therefore I intend to make a java class that it executes the queries and it returns the results.
However it would like a structuralized payload, instead of returning a primitive and soap-serialized type, I would like to return a complex type.
Example of return message:

Well, JDeveloper 10.1.2 can't make this work easiest for me ... the wizard can't work with classes returning complex types.
I tried many ways to do this: top-down and bottom-up approach's, but without success.
Also tried made a wsdl and using schemac generate facades classes, write a deploy file and, and after some difficult made the deploy in my OC4J. But invoking the webservice the server returns this message:
"javax.servlet.ServletException: WSDL Generation exception: java.lang.Exception org.collaxa.thirdparty.dom4j.Namespace is not a java bean: must have a default constructor"
Well, sorry, but I'm a java newbie and I have no idea about what can I do in this case. But I think that the error isn't in my class. :-(
Ok, also tried to do this, for test, in JDeveloper 10.1.3, but without success too.
Following some examples and tutorials, I tried to use the wizard "Create J2EE webservice" using WSIF, but doesn't works for me.

As far as I can tell, the SOAPContext is not magically there in Oracle Web services so you have to revert to Oracle SOAP (which is where the OracleSOAPContext comes from and is pretty much Apache SOAP 2.3.1 with fixes and a couple things to make it work in our environment - e.g. like a slightly updated SOAPContext class).
We ship Oracle SOAP with our distribution in the soap.ear file located in the <oc4J_home>\soap\webapps directory. Just add this line (tailored to your config) to your server.xml:
<application name="soap" path="../../../soap/webapps/soap.ear" auto-start="true" />
and the line:
<web-app application="soap" name="soap" root="/soap" />
to your http-web-site.xml and your Oracle SOAP environment should be set up with an endpoint of:
http://127.0.0.1:8888/soap/servlet/soaprouter
Then build your Web service and in your method add the SOAPContext parameter. Here is a simple method that should print out the remote IP, after casting to the OracleSOAPContext:

I am deploying a java class as a web service via JDeveloper. I was wondering, if this class/web_service is residing on an Oracle AS, will it support concurrent calls from multiple consumers?
I guess what I am asking is will every consumers who calls the web service instantiate their own web service object and have their own stack frame etc... or will they all be sharing the same memory hence all hell breaking lose?

My requirement is c++ dll will invoke my java. C++ will pass struct to my java class, I have to take the struct values after i have to process the values and I will get bulk data, this bulk data i have to fill in c++ struct.

You shouldn't have to do that - the application server (Tomcat, Weblogic, etc) should be the only thing that has to worry about creating that kind of object and passing it to you.
