Pass system ack of JDBC adapter to ERP in IDoc - XI - JDBC scenario

Dear all,
i have an IDoc -> XI -> JDBC scenario (without using ccBPM). In the standard way the ERP system, sending the IDoc waits for an application acknowledgement. However the JDBC adapter is only capeable to send system acknowledgements.
Is there a way to pass these acknowledgements to the IDoc status record?
In help.sap.com (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/ab/bdb13b00ae793be10000000a11402f/frameset.htm) under "IDoc Processing with the IDoc Adapter " there is a table that maps XI system/applic acknowledgement to IDoc status. So in my opinion the status record of my IDoc should at least chenge to the corresponding status for the system ack.
Can anyone tell, if this is really working? What if I deactivate the acknowledgement request in the NOALE programm?
In any case, can I achieve to transfer the system ack to the IDoc status without using a ccBPM?
Many thanks and best regards
Florian

Is there a way to pass these acknowledgements to the IDoc status record?
Without BPM, No.
So in my opinion the status record of my IDoc should at least chenge to the corresponding status for the system ack.
The ack referred here is related to idoc status whether it is properly reached till XI or not and not related to the JDBC ack.
What if I deactivate the acknowledgement request in the NOALE programm?
Then u won't have any ALEAUD message at sender R3.
In any case, can I achieve to transfer the system ack to the IDoc status without using a ccBPM?
No

  • Jdbc adapter:unable to locate a suitable JDBC driver

    Hi,gurus:
My scenario is jdbc to file.
Ater I activated the scenario, there was an error occured in RWB: " Unable to locate a suitable JDBC driver".But we have deployed relavant driver in SDM,so why did it happen?Any help will be appreciated!

    Hello xinjiang,
What database are you connecting to? Assuming that you have deployed the driver properly in SDM. Please check the parameters in your Sender JDBC Communication channel, particularly "JDBC Driver" and "Connection".
For example, if your are connecting to a SQLServer database,
    JDBC Driver should contain "com.microsoft.jdbc.SQLServerDriver"
    and Connection should contain jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://<db-hostname>;databaseName=<db-name>
    Hope that helps you out!

  • JDBC adapter access to iSeries DB files in libraries

    Hello,
We try to connect to an AS400 iSeries system via JDBC adapter!!! (not a typical scenario I think!)
The files (so called by IBM but we identify them as tables in our understanding ) are stored in libraries.
The question is how to add this library (like a path?) into JDBC adapter and interface description.
    Adapter:
    JDBC Driver: <driver name>
Conenction: <physical address of iSeries DB>
    LogIn data: xxx
    Interface description:
    MESSAGE
        STATEMENT   = []
        TABLENAME
                ACTION    = select
                TABLE      =  DBNAME.TABLENAME
The interface description is from another successful implementation on an ORACLE DB.
I think the table definition should contaion the library like
      <DBNAME>.<LIBRARY>.<TABLENAME>
    separated by dots!
I am not sure. So can anyone correct or agree?
Currently we are not ready for a first try because the driver installation is next week.
But it would help to know what we have to do instead of spending possibly a lot of time for trial and error.
    Kind Regards
    Dirk
Of course, helpful answers are valued by points!

I don't know this mechanism of high availability with 2 IP, but if you really have 2 hostname you should think to a method to switch from a node to the other in easy way, deactivating one and activating the other (for instance with the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/45/0c86aab4d14dece10000000a11466f/frameset.htm">Controlling a Communication Channel Externally</a>)
I suggest you to verify how it will be in production instance: real cluster ? switch over ? virtual IP ?

  • File adapter/JDBC adapter processing

    Hi,
    I have scenarion as below
    > XI gets an IDOC message from R/3
    > Based on that message XI uses a fileadapter to call a UNIX shell script in the other system (system B - non SAP)for pre-processing.
    > The script call returns no errors.. So, XI/BPM now uses the JDBC adapter to convert the IDOC into a JDBC insert.
    > On successful inserts, the process again uses a file adapter to perform a post-processing script call
Is the above scnarion possible using JDBC/File adapters in XI/BPM ?
    Thanks
    mad

    Hi Maddux,
Is it a pre-codintion to execute the unix shell script before inserting the data using JDBC adapter?
FYI, If there is no pre-condition and you want to send the data to two different systems, you can configure multiple receivers(both file and JDBC) in your Receiver Determination object without BPM.

    Hi,
I have few question and I am requesting you to answer my questions.
    1. What is the purpose of Program ID to specify when we configure the Sender RFC communication Channel?
    2. How to get the JDBC Driver name , connection parameters, Host and Port for the JDBC Communication channel configuration. My Basis consultant said, he has not aware this JDBC Adapter?
I need to use JDBC Adapter for my JDBCXIFile Scenario. Please explain me the step by step procedure. Please explain me from where we need to get the above parameters and JDBC Driver already configued in XI. I need the Driver name with syntax and connection parameters, host and port.
    3. Where we need to write the SQL Query for SELECT, INSERT, DELETE, and UPDATE in configuring the Receiver JDBC Communication channel?
I am very thankful to you in advance.

    Hi,
I have few question and I am requesting you to answer my questions.
    1. What is the purpose of Program ID to specify when we configure the Sender RFC communication Channel?
Program ID : Program ID of the registered server program. The selected program ID must uniquely describe the RFC sender channel in the configured gateway (Application Server (Gateway) and Application Server Service (Gateway) parameters). Also this program where you execute your RFC function with specified RFC destination.
    2. How to get the JDBC Driver name , connection parameters, Host and Port for the JDBC Communication channel configuration. My Basis consultant said, he has not aware this JDBC Adapter?

  • Error in JDBC Adapter Configuration....

    Hi,
My scenario is like this FTP->XI->Oracle Database.
The problem is that the files are not getting posted to the database though it is running well.
In XI receiver comm channel in JDBC adapter, I have provided the Connection path as   jdbc:oracle:thin:@esealmw275.al.sw.ericsson.se:1521:S14. Whereas in channel monitoring it is taking jdbc:oracle:THIN:@esealmw275.al.sw.ericsson.se:1521:S14. Please note it is taking THIN as in caps.
Can anybody suggest me is this the proposed error for that, if it is so, then pls provide me the suitable solution for that.

  • JDBC Adapter:- How does it work??

    Dear Friends,
I would like to know the nuts and bolts of JDBC adapter.
1.)How does it work internally?Internally what does sap use?
2.)In my scenario i just need to access a sap table so Can i write my Java JDBC program to access it.?
3.)Is there any other way to sent data from Idocs to map to a external database with out using XI.?
    thx,
    jeevan

    Hi Jeevan,
As far as the JDBC adapter goes, internally it uses, obviously JDBC (Java DataBase Connectivity). Thus all the calls from this adapter are internally SQL Queries (Either Select, Insert, Update, Delete, Execute Stored Procedure) that are sent using Java JDBC API.
In Sender Configuration, it needs a Select and an Update query to be configured into it. It polls the External Database at specific intervals (Polling Interval in the Channel Configuration),i.e., it connects to the Database via a JDBC Connection and runs the select query. The data from the query is sent to XI as an XML Document. The update query is used to update the DB such that the same data is not picked again in the next poll. This is generally done through a status field. The select query's Where clause should pick records with one status and the update should change all those statuses so that the select does not pick them again. Click [Here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/22/b4d13b633f7748b4d34f3191529946/frameset.htm|SAP Help on JDBC Sender Adapter] for more details, including the format of the XML file sent.
In receiver configuration, the channels creates SQL statements from the XML Document it receives. This can be either Select, Insert, Update, Delete or Stored Procedure Call Statements. This requires you to give the receiver channel an XML Document in a pre-defined Schema. Click [Here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/22/b4d13b633f7748b4d34f3191529946/frameset.htm|SAP Help on JDBC Receiver Adapter] for more details including correct XML Schemas. Note that the kind of SQL Statement generated (Select, Update, etc) is dependent on the schema provided.
    Hope this was helpful!!!
    Thanks,
    Guru

  • Error in configuring JDBC Adapter

    Hi All,
I have configured a sender JDBC Adapter with the following parameters.
    JDBC Drivers: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Connection: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://MIS-SERVER\MIS_DEV_SVR;DatabaseName=SEPG_NEWDB
But in Runtime, I am getting error as follows...
Error during database connection to the database URL 'jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://MIS-SERVER\MIS_DEV_SVR;DatabaseName=SEPG_NEWDB' using the JDBC driver 'com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver': 'com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagerException: Cannot establish connection to URL 'jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://MIS-SERVER\MIS_DEV_SVR;DatabaseName=SEPG_NEWDB': SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC]The requested instance is either invalid or not running.'
It has been confirmed that JDBC Drivers are properly deployed.
Any suggestions to resolve this issue?
    Regards
    Pavan

    Hi Pavan,
I think Port is missing and also it should be look like this. (microsoft not required for SQL SERVER 2000).
Make sure msbase.jar, msutil.jar, mssqlserver.jar are the driver files and deployment.
    Connection: jdbc:sqlserver://MIS-SERVER\MIS_DEV_SVR<b>:PORT</b>;DatabaseName=SEPG_NEWDB

  • Testing the JDBC adapter communication channel

    Hi
I've created an interface which gets the sender payload using a JDBC adapter.
Basis have installed the JDBC driver for the database where the data resides
I've configured the communication channel to poll every 10 minutes
So far nothing appears to be happening
Can I test the communication channel independantly?
Is there a procedure to make the communication channel active?
Is there an admin area where I can see if there is an issue with the communication channel.
I've checked SMQ1, SMQ2 and SXMB_MONI and there are no messages
I've also checked runtime workbench => adapter monitoring => communication channels but I get an empty list
all help will be very much appreciated

    Hi Geoff,
It is not possible to check only the communication channel but we can check the complete scenario confogured in Integration Directory.
    1. Open ID.
    2. Goto Tools.
    3. Provide the sender and the receiver parameters.
    4. Also provide the payload in the Payload section.
    5. Now, goto Test Configuration
    6. Select Run.
This shows you, if there are any issues in the configuration.
    Thanks,

  • XI JDBC Adapter

    Hi Experts,
I am coming from background of production support of the current XI environment. Do anyone of you have a good site on step-by-step guide to create an interface in JDBC adapter?
Currently I have an interface whereby SAP will do direct update to a third-party Database. I can only get the login information like IP address, Login ID and Password in the Communication Channel of the interface, but I cannot find the 'Table name' and also the SQL statement to do the insertion of data to the third-party Database.
    Any enlightenment?
    thanks.
    Cheers,

  • JDBC Adapter message order

    Hello experts,
I want to ask one question.
If I use JDBC adapter for processing outgoing message (receiver JDBC adapter) - Is processing of message guaranteed in order how I received it on sender side or processing order can change and I will insert messages in changed order.
    Example:
I have messages 1 and 2 which comes at sender side in this order.
Is it guaranteed, that on receiver side, they will be inserted in DB in order 1, 2 or is it possible that I will find them in DB in order 2, 1.
I hope that I wrote it clear.
    Thank you
    VB

    Hi Vladimir
if you use EO quality of service then you will get messages in any order.
if you use EOIO, then you will get ordered messages at receiver side. To use EOIO QoS set "Maintain Order at Runtime" checkbox in interface determination object of your scenario.

  • How to get rid of system acknowledgements in JDBC adapter

    Hi,
I've set up a receiver JDBC adapter.
It works good, but sends back acknowledgements which i dont want
On help.sap.com i found:  "....If you want to prevent a synchronous system acknowledgement from being sent back, even if the sender requests it, set XI.AckFinal=false....."
In the channel configuration i'm on tab "parameters" >> tab "advanced" and i checked the box "advanced".
    I get "additional parameters" screen
There is a box where i can fill name and value for parameters.
    If i put:
    name = XI.AckFinal
    value = false,
i still get the acknowledgements from the database.
What must i do to get rid of the acknowledgements?
    Thx.
    Robert

    Hi Srinivas,
I think you are referring to the tab "module"
What i am referring to is the tab "parameters" , etc etc.
I dont think i would need an additional module to get rid of the system acknowledgements.
    Thx.
