  • URL based Iview creation problem

    Hello,
    We use EP6 SP9.
    I am trying to build a url based iview with "capture" option.
    When I enter the url address and hit "capture" I get the following error:
    Unable to fetch site http://portal.Error # 401
    Thanks for any help

    Hi Tuval,
    Yes I remember you from the Toptier days, hope life is treating you well.
    Actually the Proxy settings could still be a problem for internal urls if infact you still have a proxy on your network. You would need to specify the bypass proxy domain settings in the http service just like you do in your browser.  Except you use | as a delimeter eg.  .sap.com|.sap.corp.
    As I suggested you should still check that server side urls are working either internally or externally by typing a url into the 'server side connection test' in the Theme integrity tests page.
    If this test passes and you cannot capture then its a capture problem either domain related or something else eg a timeout.
    If this test fails then the capture will not work until server side requests can succeed.
    Also, the capture service has some parameters as well but I have never changed the defaults.

  • Passing Dynamic Parameter to URL

    Hi All,
    I have a Webdynpro Application, where I am calling a separate iView through a URL (Quick link to that iView) using a LinkToAction UI element.
    Now, we need to pass a parameter (say Part Number) to the external iView through our webdynpro application.
    The external iView when called should be filled with a value by default. This value has to be retreived on some parameter from the main application.
    Can anybody suggest how to achieve this? We are presently using a common URL, so when the external window opens the iView will be blank. But now we need that when the user navigates to the external window, it should appear with the corresponding value.
    How can we make the URL to pass dynamic parameters?
    Any suggestions on this will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Becky.

    Hi Becky,
    A Web Dynpro application can get URL parameters passed to the iView with the following code:
    WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter().getRequestObject().getParameter();
    You can send URL parameters to a Web Dynpro page in the following ways:
    ●      Add to the URL a parameter called DynamicParameter, whose value is a set of key-value pairs to send to the page.
    The following is the format for the DynamicParameter parameter:
    DynamicParameter="param1=value1&param2=value2&"&
    The value ("param1=value1&param2=value2&") must be URL encoded.
    ●      Add to the URL parameters that start with sap-.
    ●      Add parameters to the businessParameters parameter of the navigateAbsolute() or navigateRelative() method, as described in Absolute Navigation and Relative Navigation.
    iView Parameters
    The following are the URL parameters that get passed to each iView on the page, and then to the underlying Web Dynpro application:
    ·        The static parameters defined in the Application Parameters property for each iView. The property value is a set of key-value pairs in the following format:
    param1=value1&param2=value2&
    ·        The parameters passed to the page (those defined in the DynamicParameterparameter as well as all parameters starting with sap-).
    For isolated iViews in a Web Dynpro page, only the parameters specified in the Parameters to Pass from Page Request property for each iView are passed to that iView.
    The property value is a list of parameter names, separated by commas, as follows:
    param1,param2,param3
    To specify all parameters, enter an asterisk (*).
    We did same for one of the requirement in our project let us know if you have any issues.

  • How to pass date parameter in URL in system date format

    Hi All,
    I am working on a requirement where I need to pass the date parameter in URL. Where date format needs to be system default date format. How can we format date without providing specific date format.
    Also, I got some post which had below example. Can you let me know what this format does.
    '/analysis/report?queryGroupName=Custom-ProjectInfo&TimePeriodBeginning=', <%+%> FCI_CHARFMT(TIME_PERIOD_START_DATE),' <%+%>
    '&TimePeriodBeginning_format=17&link_crumb=true'
    Waiting for response.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    If you're running this in SQL*Plus, you can use substitution variables.
    If you have a file called my_query.sql, like this
    select    A.agent_no,
              (a.first_name || A.agent_name)     as agent_Name,
              P.Policy_No,
              D.Driver_No,
              D.mvr_predict_score,
           D.mvr_received
    from        policy  P,
           agent   A,
           Driver  D
    where       D.request_mvr_hit   = 'M'
    AND       D.mvr_predict_Score > 540
    And       D.request_mvr          = 'D'
    AND        p.fullkey           = d.fullkey
    AND       p.agent_no          = a.agent_no
    AND       d.mvr_received     >= TO_DATE ('&1', 'DD-Mon-YYYY')          -- New
    AND       d.mvr_received     <  TO_DATE ('&2', 'DD-Mon-YYYY') + 1     -- New
    order by  a.agent_no,
                 CASE  a.producer_type
               when  'S'  then 1
               when  'C'  then 2
               when  'R'  then 3
           end
    ;Then you can run it from SQL*Plus by saying something like:
    @my_query  1-Jan-2009  31-Dec-2009&1 in the script will be replace by the 1st argument (1-Jan-2009) and &2 will be replaced by the 2nd argument (31-Dec-2009).
    Notice that the last condition adds 1 to the argument
    AND       d.mvr_received     <  TO_DATE ('&2', 'DD-Mon-YYYY') + 1     -- Newbut uses the < operator (not <=). The result is that if mvr_received is any time on the last day (e.g. 31-Dec-2009 11:59 pm) will be included.

  • Pass data parameter from URL to Forms

    Hi
    Is it possible to pass a data parameter from asp to Forms?.
    In my asp I have a url to call a form (eg. http://servername:port/forms90/f90servlet/form=testform.fmx). In my testform.fmx I accept 'account no' as a parameter for querying the records. Since I am calling this form from asp, I already have the account no in my asp. I would like to pass this account no to the form automatically.
    Is it possible to pass this data parameter from url to forms?.
    If possible, what changes to be made in the form. Please help.
    sreekumar

    Create a parameter in your form, there's a node for it in the Navigator window. Imagine it is called myParam.
    Pass it on the URL like this:
    http://host/forms90/f90servlet?config=myApp&otherParams=myParam=somevalue

  • Passing a parameter to a transaction iview

    Hi all,
    I have a C# web app that is accessible via a url iview. I redirect the user to a transaction iview.
    But, I want the transaction iview to display data, which is retrieved from SAP R/3, to be relevant to that particular user. I want to use the user's business partner id, as a parameter to pass. Maybe through a query string?
    Does anyone know how I could go about doing this?
    Many thanks.
    I swear I'll reward many, many points for help that gets me through this.

    Eric, you’re the man. Trust me, you were pivotal in helping me solve this challenge. I'm sorry I hadn't mentioned you in the previous post.
    As for the solution, yes indeed, we're assigning the application parameter dynamically. The difference now is that instead of a session object, we're using a drop down list.
    So from the iView, the user makes a selection from a drop down list (which is dynamically populated), which contains their id numbers (value) and the associated names (text). Upon the user pressing a button, the selected value (id number) is fed into the query string. At that point, the application redirects to the url and we get our transaction iView.
    Below are portions of the actual code:
    sBaseURL = ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings
    ["WebAccountsBalance"].ToString();
    sQueryString = "?System=<system alias>&
    TCode=<transaction code>&
    GuiType=WebGui&OkCode=true&
    OkCodeField=&~okcode=true&
    ApplicationParameter=FKKL1-GPART=" + ddlAccounts.SelectedValue.ToString();
    Response.Redirect(sBaseURL + sQueryString);
    Thanks again Eric. :o)

  • Passing Parameters with a URL to an Oracle Report, on an Oracle Reports App. Server

    I have built an Oracle report which resides on a Windows 4.0 / IIS application server with Oracle Reports installed.
    (8i Database / 6i Developer 2000 suite). This works flawlessly when called from an Oracle Form.
    My question is, how do I call the same report from portals and pass it the required parameters. Thanks!

    Hi,
    You will have to encode your parameter value. The problem is because of the spaces in the value. Whenever there any special
    characters in the value it should be encoded.
    example
    select '<area shape="rect" coords="335,66,528,83" href="http://townland:7778/pls/portal30/PORTAL30.RPT_SUMKWH.show_parms?meter='||
    <portal_schema>.wwutl_htf.url_encode('PMS 11BBA01')||'">pams</a>' url
    from meters
    The above is just an example. Please change the names to suit your requirements.
    Thanks,

  • Dynamically passing text and url-based images as an input parameter to cf8 report builder

    I'm unsuccessfully trying to dynamically pass text and url-based images to a group footer or the detail section via an input parameter or even hardcoded. The field has the attribute 'XHTML Text Formating' set to True. The following are failed samples of a simplified value:
    "<img height=’300’ alt=’Document’ width=’300’ src=’http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/logo.gif’ />"
    or
    "<img src=’http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/logo.gif’ />"
    This just results in the above text being output. The end result would have various text and images from a database as input by a user, thus the reason I cannot just use the hyperlink information attribute as I could if it were a single known image. I tried rtf and pdf report types. Ideas?

    HTH,
    Thanks. I'll keep that in mind, although I don't know how many images my user might need or what sizes so that might be tricky.
    Since my target output is rtf so that MS Word can be used to edit the result, I added a pagebreak to a MS Word doc and used the resulting html source to replace the rich text editor source code for the page break, but that did not help either. The page break was so a user could add an image later. Something is wrong with the Report Builder related to intepreting XHTML, especially anything that has an attribute, including URL-based image links. I hope they try to provide another update before CF9. I doubt my client will be going to CF9 for some time, since they are just completing the migration to CF8.

  • How do I pass a parameter to a portlet on the URL?

    I have a portlet on one tab that searches for parts. (This portlet is written and maintained by someone else.) When a user clicks on a part number in the result set on this portlet they need to be taken to another tab (different portlet on the same page) with that part number as a parameter. The second portlet then dynamically writes an
    <iframe src="http://someurl?partnumber=xyz" />
    to call an external application passing the part number as a URL parameter to the external application.
    Writing the <iframe /> dynamically is no problem. The problem is passing the part number from one portlet to another. We planned to do this by using hrefs in the part search portal using URLs like
    http://hostname:port/pls/portal/url/page/test1/portlet2?partnumber=xyz
    for each part number. The problem is that the URL parameter doesn't get passed to the second portlet. Here is the code in the second portlet:
    <%
    PortletRenderRequest portletRenderRequest =
    (PortletRenderRequest)request.getAttribute("oracle.portal.PortletRenderRequest");
    String partnumber = portletRenderRequest.getQualifiedParameter("partnumber");
    %>
    It always sees null for the partnumber parameter.
    I also have <passAllUrlParams>true</passAllUrlParams> in provider.xml.
    I've tried checking this by calling the URL of the second portlet directly from a browser. The portlet sees the partnumber parameter as null, but the URL window in the browser returns the modified URL from the portal with the partnumber parameter set properly. Portal is seeing the parameter but not passing it to the portlet.
    I haven't tried actually setting the in the first portlet and seeing if it all works when called from inside the portal, but I don't see why it shouldn't work by calling the second portlet URL directly with a parameter.
    Am I missing some step in order to pass a parameter from one portlet to another? The parameters I have to pass are dynamic, based on the result set returned by a search in the first portlet.

    My second to last paragraph should have been:
    "I haven't tried actually setting the hrefs in the first portlet and seeing if it all works when called from inside the portal, but I don't see why it shouldn't work by calling the second portlet URL directly with a parameter."

  • Pass parameter to WD abap iview via Portal link

    Hello all,
    I have created one WD ABAP application and I am accessing the same with the help of URL parameters. I am retrieving these URL parameters in 'HANDLEDEFAULT' event handler of the application window.
    Now client wants to access the same with the help of NavigationParameter so I created relevant iView in portal and I am accessing application using link which is composed of portal link and NavigationTarget parameter.
    My question, If I want to pass application parameters via URL, How do I access the same in my window. Do I need some sort of separate mechanism to take the URL parameters to my application window when application is running on portal?
    Please share your thoughts on this.
    (Same problem explained in link /thread/672163 [original link is broken])
    Thanks in Advance,
    Prashant Jagdale

    Hi Kiran Kumar,
    Thanks for your document but still my problem is not solved. I will try to explain my problem in detail.
    I have developed one WD application and I was accessing the same using link suppose
    http://newdomain.abc.com:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zwda_url_parameters?pernr=12345&name=test1&sap-client=200&sap-language=EN
    I was retrieving the values of of pernr and name in 'HANDLEDEFAULT' event handler by adding two parameters as PERNER and NAME. and it is working fine.
    Now this application is running on portal. and I am accessing the same using URL
    http://<server>:<Port>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content//myFolder/myRole/myWS/myPage
    but as i want to pass above mentioned parameter (pernr and name) via link, After an investigation, I am thinking to use of Dynamic parameter. So my link will become like
    http://<server>:<Port>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content//myFolder/myRole/myWS/myPage&DynamicParameter="pernr=12345&name=test1"
    So, my question is , how I can access these values specified in DynamicParameter in my WD abap iView. Whether they are available in 'HANDLEDEFAULT' event handler using method wdevent->get_data?
    I don't want to pass my parameters using iView property "Application Parameter."
    Please give some inputs on this. Also Please guide me whether I can use some other way to achieve this. but the thing is, i must want to pass the values via URL only.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Prashant Jagdale

  • Passing Search Parameter to SRM-MDM Through the URL

    Greeting all,
    I would like to know how I can pass a search parameter to SRM-MDM using the URL in the web browser. This is needed to display the result directly instead of listing the whole catalog contents.
    I am trying to pass a search parameter (Text string) to the catalog through an R/3 SAP system. As a result, it should give only the material that I am looking for.
    I tried the "Background Search" as described in the OCI-specification paper but still couldn't get it!
    By using the parameters mentioned in chapter 3.2.4 of OCI-specification paper, I did the recommended configuration and use the following URL but still failed to pass the parameter:  http://....&FUNCTION=BACKGROUND_SEARCH&SEARCHSTRING=searchterm
    Can anyone help me on that?!
    Regards,
    Yousif

    Hi Yousif,
    Why dont u save the search as a named search in MDM and then pass it onto the SRM MDM.
    Save the records  as Named search in MDM Data Manager
    For eg:
    Named Search name -->> search1
    Now while passing the parameters to the SRM MDM Catalog specify the Named Search in its url.
    http://J2EESERVER:PORTNO/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM?sap-locale=EN&HOOK_URL=&mask=&namedSearch=search1&username=Admin&password=PASSWORD&catalog=REPOSITORYNAME&server=MDMSERVERIPADDRESS&datalanguage=EN
    After passing the named search in the hook url the you will be able to see only the search which was saved in Data Manager.
    Hope dis helps u
