Passing file read location as a parameter or dynamica to FTP write adapter.

Hi All,
We have a requirement to FTP files to a location. We are planning to use FTP adapter in SOA 11g.
But our requirement is to pass the file read location as a parameter as in case of failure we are planning to read file from the archive location.
But FTP location to which file is written or ftped will always remain constant. Only the read location from which this file is picked needs to be dynamic.
Any pointers on this will be of great help.
Thanks,
Sowmya

Hi,
In 11g we can pass filename and directory name at runtime through properties on receive activity.
If you double click on the Receive activity (connecting to file Adapter), then on Properties tab, you will find three properties jca.file.Directory, jca.file.Filename and jca.file.Size. Select the property which ever you want and assign variable/expression to it.
Value assigned to Variable can be passed runtime as an input to the process.

  • Sync reading location pdf file on ipad and mac

    Is there anyway to keep the reading location sync'd between an ipad and a mac with a pdf file?
    I have the pdf file in the ibook library that is sync'd between my ipad and mac, however, my
    reading location doesn't seem to be updated.

    Not sure what a "Preview File" is ... but I will assume you mean a PDF file.
    First of all, Apple products are very good at reading PDF files.  In general, you don't need any special PDF viewer, as these are built in.
    The place I would store PDF documents is in the iBooks reader.  iBooks is a free app available in the App Store.  It is where you would keep books you purchase in the App Store.  Those books are stored in iTunes on your computer.  You can store your PDFs there too.
    To find PDFs, open iBooks, click on the "Books" button and then select PDFs.

  • Dreamweaver Template Error: Error reading file (Site Location/info) returned incomplete data

    Hello!
    I am working on new website we are creating for our company. I have never really had any Dreamweaver template file errors before...so this one has me really stumped! We purchased the site files from Template Monster and I have contacted their tech support, but I have not had much luck with them.
    I started out by creating the Dreamweaver template folder that includes the template files that I would like to use. I started creating some pages using the template. I placed all the html pages in the main folder of the website. When I go to update the template to those pages I get the following error: "Error reading file (Site Location\Folder name\Dreamweaver template name) returned incomplete data".
    I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!
    The site is a CSS based site with a Flash navigation menu. Since it is in the production phase, I do not yet have it placed on a server so you can take a look at it at this time (although if really needed and we cannot find an answer, I may be able to get the test site on line - if someone thinks they can help me answer this problem by viewing the site). Right now the site is housed in the same place we house all of the other sites we have produced and all of our other templates on our other websites work just fine. The main difference with this site is that we did purchase files from Template Monster to help speed us along during the construction of the page structures and also this site has a Flash Navigation Menu and a few other Flash elements (something our other sites do not really have).
    I am using Abobe Dreamweaver CS5 and Windows 7
    Thanks again for taking the time to help find and answer to this problem!

    I am curious as to why no one likes them around here.
    They have spammed these forums in the past.
    The code on their pages is rarely 'best-practice' code.
    There are much better choices available.
    My co-worker and I have to share the files, since we are editing the site together. The files are not local on our computers, but on the company's f drive that have Novell on it.
    This arrangement is a recipe for disaster.  The correct way to collaborate on a site with a colleague is with the following setup:
    Each of you must have a LOCAL site (local to your workstation)
    You would use a single remote location as a staging area, so each of you would have a site definition that specifies your own workstation for the local site, and the same network shared location as the Remote site
    You will both need to enable Check In/ Check Out
    You will both have to agree to PLAY BY THE RULES!
    One (or both) of you will also need to have a second site defined that has the staging server as the local root folder, and would have the PRODUCTION server as the remote site.  I'll explain how to use this site soon.
    When you use CI/CO, your 'gold-standard files' are on the staging server.  To begin working, you would connect to the staging server, and double click on a file, which will a) fetch the file from the staging server to your local site, and b) CHECK OUT the file to you.  As long as you have the file checked out, it cannot be edited by your colleague.  When you are done with your edit, you would CHECK IN the file (which uploads it to the staging server).  It can now be edited by your colleague.
    When you add templates to this scenario, things get even more complicated, although manageable.  If you ever need to make a change to a template you must use the following procedure:
    ALL FILES MUST BE CHECKED IN - this includes both you and your colleague.
    One of you would connect with the SECOND SITE, open and edit the template, and save it propagating the changes to all "LOCAL" files (i.e., on the staging server).
    Each of you would then need to return to the FIRST SITE, and again check out any files you want to work on.
    When changes are done, and files are ready to publish, connect to the SECOND SITE, and upload the files from STAGING to PRODUCTION.
    Does that make sense?  It's important that it does.
    I need to add in one more tab/link to the Flash nav bar.
    Using Flash for navigation is a VERY POOR CHOICE, unless you also have redundant, text-based navigation on the pages.  By using Flash to navigate, you guarantee: a) your pages will not be spiderable by search engines, b) your pages will not be navigable by iPlatforms, and c) your pages will be inaccessible to anyone browsing with screen assistive devices.  Someone is making bad decisions about this site, in my opinion.

  • Is there a way to pass files to a LV app in Mac OS X?

    There is an option in the Finder in Mac OS X to open files with the specified application. I tried it with my LV app, but unfortunately I haven't found any way to read out the filename passed to the app.
    (The Application/Command Line Arguments Property didn't work in this case.)
    Has anyone ever tried to pass files to a LV app in Mac OS X? I mean not in the command line but in the Finder.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    When I understand this right - and as I am not so much of a MAC Expert - you want to do the following:
    1. You are in a file finder, where you can click on files an select: "open with ProgrammXY"
    2. That ProgrammXY should  be a LabVIEW App you created that can open files for Analysis.
    3. The LabVIEW App catches from somewhere the path-string and name of the file that was selected to be opened with your LabVIEWApp, like from some
    kind of property node or function.
    4. How to do that?
    I do not think that is possible, at least I do not know a way to do that in Windows so I doubt there is a way to do that in MAC OS.
    <<Anyway, it could even be an empty App, the main question is if it is even possible to get the filename in a LV App if we open it in Finder.
    When you cannot configure the Finder in a way so that he writes the file name as a command line parameter in the opening call .- exuse me if that is not MAC vocabulary - I do not see a way how to do this.
    Regards
    René

  • Passing different tables as a input parameter

    HI,
    I've 5 tables TAB1, TAB2, TAB3, TAB4, TAB5
    and I created 5 store procedures to generate 5 file.txt with utl_file utility.
    Now I'd like to know if possible create just one stored procedure (or package) with just one cursor
    that passing different tables as a input parameter.
    Have you any idea?
    Thanks in advance!

    Here you go...
    SQL> create table tab1 as select 1 as x, 'A' as y from dual union
      2                       select 2, 'B' from dual union
      3                       select 3, 'C' from dual;

      3                       select 6, 'F' from dual;
    Table created.

      9      EXIT WHEN v_cur%NOTFOUND;
    10      -- Here you would output to your file, but for ease of
    11      -- demonstration I'll just dbms_output the data
    12      DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(x||' : '||y);
    13    END LOOP;
    14  END;
    15  /
    Procedure created.
    SQL> exec output_tbl('TAB1');
    1 : A

  • DAQ Buffer... What to pass to the "d as Any" parameter in DAQ_Start

    "While trying to run DAQ_Start(...), I am crashing due to memory access violation. The only thing I can provide so far for this parameter was a Long I declared that stored the reference returned from GlobalAlloc (WinAPI call) passed to DAQ_Start in place of the "d as Any" parameter. The documentation claims that it expects an array of integers though in the provided DLL for my hardware the function has a different parameter type. Am I passing the wrong thing and if so, what do I pass to this function for this parameter?"

    Well thats straight out of the documentation, which I already knew, but thanks anyway... I found the solution.
    Visual basic wants an address of the memory location. Since VB handles most things as ptrs without you knowing and thus to pass an array you would usaully pass byref. However, based on the type expected this would not work. I was trying other ways to simply pass the address of my array (reference) however they never worked. Finally I was racking my brain for other ways to pass something by reference and recalled that iun C/C++ I could pass the first element. I never imagined this would work VB, but it did. After further investigation, I realized that passing arrays to DLLs when using VB is special and you have to treat the function
    as though it were C.

    Where is file share located??

    Still no answer to this important question, nearly a year after it was posted? WHERE IS THE REMOTE BUTTON that we are supposed to pair Remote app on the iPhone with? Here's what the help file says in French :

    2. Touchez Ajouter une bibliothèque iTunes.Un code à 4 chiffres apparaît.

  • How to remove file path location listings from photos and objects in Acrobat Pro 9.0 PDF?

    After converting a windows-based Powerpoint 2007 presentation to an Acrobat Pro 9.0 PDF, the file path location of all photos and objects are shown in a dialogue box when the cursor is moved over the image as seen in this screenshot below. How can I stop this from happening and remove this feature on my pdf documents?

    I saw that referenced on a forum, but it does not seem to address the issue I am having.
    As per Adobe Acrobat X Standard * What’s new, the equivalent to the "Tools > Protection > Remove Hidden Information" utility found in Acrobat X Standard is the same as the "Document > Examine Document" feature in Acrobat Pro 9.0. Those tools seem to cover meta data, book marks, hidden text, and deleted or cropped content, but not the file path listings that appear on images and objects converted from Powerpoint presentations and other MS Office programs.
    I have reviewed the settings used while creating a pdf, and have also tried the “Advanced > Preflight tool”, but could not find anything to apply to the issue at hand.
    Thus, this issue has not been resolved, but seems like it should be an easy fix that anyone who publishes pdf documents would want to use to publish clean, professional documents without anyone seeing the file path location of every object and image shown in the document on their hard drive.

  • Save as/Save does not point to file open location for the file

    Hi,
    Working with large number of files it's imperative that I can rely on the software's ability to know where open files are located on disk, so that when needed I can save all open files to their original locations. Unfortunately CS6 wil save all open files to the location of the last saved file!
    Even after a power out, or CS6 crash, all the recovered files will point to the directory last document was saved to!!
    This means that if I have 10 open files from 10 different folders, they will all be saved to one folder, in which maximum one of the 10 files have been opened from and I will not know where they are if I follow their original file location (e.g from Lightroom import from camera).
    This generates a very time consuming manual workaround, in which I must file-by-file open the correct folder in Save as dialogue.
    Using "Save As to Original Foder" has no meaning selected or de-selected.
    I don't know of any other software that suppresses original file location in save/save as...
    How do I disable this unproductive and illogical malfunction?
    Morten

    Okay, doing what you outlined, I'm getting the same result.  It's acting like the file you open is a new file that hasn't been saved, and that always defaults to the last saved location.  I'm not saying it should be like this, but I think it is default behavior.  Only advice I can offer is to put in a feature request:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
    The squeeky wheel gets the oil, so let them know.

  • Counting number of files read by File adapter

    I have configured a file adapter in a BPEL prcs to read files from a location. The adapter is polling files with a specific file ext(say txt). Is it possible to know the number of files read by the BPEL prcs at the end of the day??? i,e.
    is it possible that a BPEL instance after reading a file updates the count in a variable and this variable value is seen by other BPEL instances and the other instances can also update the value....
    Any pointers will be helpful...
    Thanks

    You could make use of some logtable and log it inhere.
    In the bpel after a file is pickup up, read this value from the table, add 1 to it, and write it back.
    Or try this approach from Lucas :

  • Blob for binary file, read/write problems

    Hi,
    I am relatively new to this type of development so apologies if this question is a bit basic.
    I am trying to write a binary document (.doc) to a blob and read it back again, constructing the original word file. I have the following code for reading and writing the file:
    private void save_addagreement_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    // Save the agreement to the database
    int test_setting = 0;
    // create an OracleConnection object to connect to the
    // database and open the connection
    string constr;
    if (test_setting == 0)
    constr = "User Id=royalty;Password=royalty;data source=xe";
    else
    constr = "User ID=lob_user;Password=lob_password;data source=xe";
    OracleConnection myOracleConnection = new OracleConnection(constr);
    myOracleConnection.Open();
    // create an OracleCommand object to hold a SQL statement
    OracleCommand myOracleCommand = myOracleConnection.CreateCommand();
    myOracleCommand.CommandText = "insert into blob_content(id, blob_column) values 2, empty_blob())";
    OracleDataReader myOracleDataReader = myOracleCommand.ExecuteReader();
    // step 2: read the row
    OracleTransaction myOracleTransaction = myOracleConnection.BeginTransaction();
    myOracleCommand.CommandText =
    "SELECT id, blob_column FROM blob_content WHERE id = 2";
    myOracleDataReader = myOracleCommand.ExecuteReader();
    myOracleDataReader.Read();
    Console.WriteLine("myOracleDataReadre[\"id\"] = " + myOracleDataReader["id"]);
    OracleBlob myOracleBlob = myOracleDataReader.GetOracleBlobForUpdate(1);
    Console.WriteLine("OracleBlob = " + myOracleBlob.Length);
    myOracleBlob.Erase();
    FileStream fs = new FileStream(agreement_filename.Text, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read);
    Console.WriteLine("Opened " + agreement_filename.Text + " for reading");
    int numBytesRead;
    byte[] byteArray = new byte[fs.Length];
    numBytesRead = fs.Read(byteArray, 0, (Int32)fs.Length);
    Console.WriteLine(numBytesRead + " read from file");
    myOracleBlob.Write(byteArray, 0, byteArray.Length);
    Console.WriteLine(byteArray.Length + " written to blob object");
    Console.WriteLine("Blob Length = " + myOracleBlob.Length);
    fs.Close();
    myOracleDataReader.Close();
    myOracleConnection.Close();
    This gives the following console output:
    myOracleDataReadre["id"] = 2
    OracleBlob = 0
    Opened D:\sample_files\oly_in.doc for reading
    56832 read from file
    56832 written to blob object
    Blob Length = 56832
    My write to file code is:
    private void save_agreement_to_disk_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    string filename;
    SaveFileDialog savedoc = new SaveFileDialog();
    if (savedoc.ShowDialog() == DialogResult.OK)
    filename = savedoc.FileName;
    // create an OracleConnection object to connect to the
    // database and open the connection
    OracleConnection myOracleConnection = new OracleConnection("User ID=royalty;Password=royalty");
    myOracleConnection.Open();
    // create an OracleCommand object to hold a SQL statement
    OracleCommand myOracleCommand = myOracleConnection.CreateCommand();
    myOracleCommand.CommandText =
    "SELECT id, blob_column " +
    "FROM blob_content " +
    "WHERE id = 2";
    OracleDataReader myOracleDataReader = myOracleCommand.ExecuteReader();
    myOracleDataReader.Read();
    Console.WriteLine("myOracleDataReader[id] = " + myOracleDataReader["id"]);
    //Step 2: Get the LOB locator
    OracleBlob myOracleBlob = myOracleDataReader.GetOracleBlobForUpdate(1);
    Console.WriteLine("Blob size = " + myOracleBlob.Length);
    //Step 3: get the BLOB data using the read() method
    byte[] byteArray = new byte[500];
    int numBytesRead;
    int totalBytes = 0;
    FileStream fs = new FileStream(filename, FileMode.OpenOrCreate, FileAccess.Write);
    while ((numBytesRead = myOracleBlob.Read(byteArray, 0, 500)) > 0)
    totalBytes += numBytesRead;
    fs.Write(byteArray, 0, byteArray.Length);
    Console.WriteLine("numBytes = " + numBytesRead + " totalBytes = " + totalBytes);
    Console.WriteLine((int)fs.Length + " bytes written to file");
    fs.Close();
    myOracleDataReader.Close();
    myOracleConnection.Close();
    This gives the following console output:
    myOracleDataReader[id] = 2
    Blob size = 0
    0 bytes written to file
    If I manually add the blob file using the following:
    DECLARE
    my_blob BLOB;
    BEGIN
    -- load the BLOB
    my_bfile := BFILENAME('SAMPLE_FILES_DIR', 'binaryContent.doc');
    SELECT blob_column
    INTO my_blob
    FROM blob_content
    WHERE id = 1 FOR UPDATE;
    DBMS_LOB.FILEOPEN(my_bfile, dbms_lob.file_readonly);
    DBMS_LOB.LOADFROMFILE(my_blob, my_bfile, DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH(my_bfile), 1, 1);
    DBMS_LOB.FILECLOSEALL();
    COMMIT;
    END;
    COMMIT;
    The write to file works perfectly. This tells me that there must be something wrong with my code that is writing the blob to the database. I tried where possible to following the Oracle article using large objects in .NET but that (along with most things on the internet) focus on uploading text files.
    Thanks in advance.
    Chris.

    myOracleCommand.CommandText = "insert into blob_content(id, blob_column) values 2, empty_blob())";
    OracleDataReader myOracleDataReader = myOracleCommand.ExecuteReader();
    This looks wrong, you shouldn't be using ExecuteReader unless you expect to get a result back. Try using ExecuteNonQuery to do the insert.
