Passing information from external asp file and getting it in the portal

Hi,
I think that the answer for my question is simple but I'm not sure how it is done.
I would like to pass information from asp page(microsoft server pages) to the portal and extract the information in the portal
I know how to how to pass the the information as POST or GET method
but how do I extract the infomation within an iView ?
and what is the portal URL I need to call from the asp page ? a page URL or an iView URL ?

Hi,
In order to use an ASP application in the portal u have to first create a system. In the System Definition Properties, give the url of your ASP page in the Name of server field and the name of the ASP page in the URI field.

There are so many things wrong with this VI, I'm not even sure where to start.
Hard-coding paths that point to your user folder on the block diagram. What if somebody else tries to run it? They'll get an error. What if somebody tries to run this on Windows 7? They'll get an error. What if somebody tries to run this on a Mac or Linux? They'll get an error.
Not using Read From Spreadsheet File.
Use of local variables to populate an array.
Cannot insert values into an empty array.
What if there's a line missing from the text file? Now your data will not line up. Your case structure does handle this.

I`m a beginner, so please help..
My program should output an voltage value that is read from an xl-file with one collum. The most important is that each values in the xl graph should be read per iteration. So that the file is read over time. I want to use this xl file to controll the output signal over time.
Can anyone show me how this VI would look like, and what would the xl file look like??

The easiest way to do this is to save your Excel file as a comma or tab separated text file and not the native Excel format. Then you can use Read From Spreadsheet File (on the File I/O palette). Using this, you can read the file all at once and then just have a 1D array that you can wire to a while or for loop so that with each iteration of the loop, you get one element in the array. A for loop automatically indexes an input array. Reading the file all at once will be more effecient that reading the file line by line.

Created a pdf from a word-file and inserted formfields. The fields works in other pdf-readers(nitro,reader etc), but not in adobe reader and acrobat. Please help.

I have created a pdf from a word-file and inserted formfields for a work related file. I've used nitro pro to create the formfield. They works in nitro, reader, foxit etc. but not adobe reader. From page 3 and out, the font wont show when writing in a formfield. Some formfield doesnt even show.
Please help me fix this (hopefully before the presentation at work friday) :-)

Agreed. Adobe makes no claims that their Reader will work properly with forms made from third party software.

I do not know about the Application.application.whateverFieldIWantToReference and it does work on my computer, but only when the external .as file is in the same folder as the main .mxml application... But in my case, the .as file is in another folder (ie. package)...
Also i want to know When I use the standard Application.application way, it does not spit out any error, but it just doesn't work either.
Alternatively, I guess I could pass the field (in this case, a TextArea) as an argument, but how do I do that? How to pass a TextArea(or any other element, for that matter) as an argument? What type is it?
Does anybody know how to circumvent this? Any help is appreciated,

Footer.htm, nav.htm, header.htm Disappearing from local webpage files and GET or Revert won't bring them back!

This is driving me crazy! When I pull up a webpage to work on in DW CS4, it comes up with an asterick and no nav, header or footer. Sometimes I can right click the file tab and click Revert to bring everything back up. Then I save that page and work on it, make changes and save and upload it.
Right now, on the page I want to work on, Revert isn't available, so I tried GET. It reloaded without the nav, footer and header -- which are on the live site page. Also, after GET, the nav file gets an asterick again, both on the nav.htm file tab and on the source file for the page I tried to download.
Repeatedly I open nav, footer and header to check them, they all come up with astericks even though I have not changed them since my last save. I save them again, upload them, then try again to open a webpage to work on and it comes up with an asterick and no nav, footer or header, and the same process starts all over again.
I changed my website from HTML 4.0 to XHTML 1.0 the way my html instructer said: Modify>PageProperties>Title/Encoding>Apply
Could this be creating the problem. Please help me. I am afraid of really messing up my whole website. Thanks!

The HTML probably uses a relative path to the image files as the images are uploaded to the server in the same folder as the HTML file.
You would need to find the absolute path to these files.
Relative path example - images/file-name.jpg
Absolute path example - http://www.domain-name.com/folder-name/images/file-name.jpg

Transfereing new music from external to PC and getting it into Library

I just added music to my itunes file from my old external hard drive. It went from 4.5GB to 17.8GB. But, when I go into Itunes it doesnt show any of the new music I put in there. Is there any way other than going each song one by one and playing them on Itunes to get them in my library?

You can get the parameter value directly. You can do the following to get the parameter name.
Directly take the request's input stream and parse the header and findout the value for text field.
Or you can use apache's file upload utilities and do the following

               List fileItems = upload.parseRequest(request);
               Iterator iter = fileItems.iterator();

Depends. If the page numbers can be located by their location on the page then a script can be written to redact that area, and then add new page numbers in their place (or somewhere else).

Passing info from a XML file to URLloader

I am new to Flex (And programming alltogether), so please
excuse my ignorance when asking this question; but I have to start

I have an application using HTTPService that pulls
information from a XML file and displays an image and text within
the window depending on the selected item. The image and text
appears as needed from {data.image} or {data.text} calls to their
appropriate field. On that same window, I want to add a link button
that will direct the browser to a new page depending on the
selected item. I have the link for each item embedded in the XML
file, but I cannot figure out how to pass the link to the button.
I have tried to create a function, but the URL isnot passed
to the broswer. The application tells the browser to go to
"{data.link}" at the local server, not the actual URL.
my function looks like this:

I had the same problem after I gave my old iPad to my parents and tried to install Netflix. This is what you have to do: Open iTunes on your computer, the one you sync your iPad to. Then go to iTunes Store and search for and download Netflix app. After you download it, if your iPad is set to download new purchases it may start downloading on your iPad. If so, tap and hold to delete the app (because it is trying to install the new version on the iPad) Next step, go to the App Store on your iPad and find Netflix and it should say install since you already purchased it on the computer. Tap to install, and it will say the version is not compatible, tap to download a previous version. Click that and it will install the older version! One more thing, if and when you sync to your computer again it will say something like " Unable to install Netflix on your iPad" Just click the box to never remind you again, because it's trying to sync the newer Netflix app to your iPad, but it doesn't work so it displays the message. The old app will remain on the ipad. Hope this helps, good luck
