Passing json object to a ReST service - Biztalk 2010

Hi,
I need to call a ReST service, passing a json object to a ReST service from BizTalk 2010. ( PUT operation)
I am able to call a ReST service with 'http://xxx.com/xx/geterporders/param1/' from BizTalk 2010.

Sharmishtha

Nice idea shared by Leonid Ganeline. Refer: Biztalk
2010 Json and REST
In support, you can refer this link Xml
to Json pipeline component (DotNetTypesToJsonConverter.cs)
You can send out a Json Message to an external endpoint, one of the solution for this is to create a new pipeline component and use the Newtonsoft
Json libraries JsonConvert.SerializeObject method to convert the xml stream into an object
and generate a json string.

  • How to pass JSON object for a PUT operation of restful

    Hi,
    I am trying to proxy restful call through an OSB proxy and I would like to know how I can pass json object via OSB proxy to an external rest service for a PUT operation? I am using Oracle 11g.
    I have created a business service, that point to the external rest service and created a proxy service that route to the business service. I thought it automatically takes the JSON, which is the data need to be send to the rest service, but didn't work, I get 405 error in the osb access log. is that how it works, or there is something else I need to do? if so, can you please help and tell me how?
    appreciate any kind of help.
    thanks
    Marwa.

    Hi Anju,
    Most of the example I see is dealing with data being pass either as query-string or html form. We are passing JSON object from the UI and rest services are configured to take JSON. therefore, in the PUT and POST data are passed either as an attachment or part of the request object. Do you know or have an example how to do it? I don't need to any kind of transformation of data because I need JSON on both end and I am trying to use the OSB proxy in between my UI and rest services to take advantage of monitoring capability of the OSB.
    appreciate any help, my deadline is getting close and I kind stuck.
    Thanks
    M.

  • Problem in passing/returning objects over dynamic web service call

    Hi Friends,
    I am beginner in java web service.
    Here is the problem I am facing when I pass/return user defined objects to remote web service method using dynamic we service call.
    The client can call the remote web service method in 2 ways.
    1. By generating client stubs using WSDL file
    - In this case, I am able to pass/return the user defined objects to remote method without any issue only when the server side web services are deployed in any server(jboss)
    - But in java 1.6 & above, the web services can be deployed without server using endpoint. In this case, I am not able to pass/return objects over web service calls.
    2. Without generating client stubs (dynamic web service call)
    - This will establish a connection at run time using the given WSDL file (I have attached the document). I have to form an XML(This will contain API name, arguments) string as input at run time
    - In this case, it allows only string as argument while passing & returning.
    Please let me know if you can help me on this.
    Regards,
    pani

  • How pass collection of POJO to RESTful Service

    Hi all
    I have to pass a lot of data to APEX service. This data contains some common data and unlimited list of plain objects of same type. How can I process this data with PL/SQL? I didn't find any examples to parse POST request.
    One solution is to separate request into series of requests and use GET request to report each item but may be you know more elegant way
    Thanks,
    Denis

    The OCI (Oracle Call Interface) supports collections as objects aka ADTs (Advance Data Types).
    The details are in the OCI manual.
    However, you are likely (like most Oracle developers) not dealing directly with the OCI, but using some kind of class or wrapper of sorts in the client language that in turns does the OCI calls for you.
    What client language are you using?
    A client can make a PL/SQL or SQL that dynamically constructs a collection. E.g. the client constructs the following dynamic and anonymous PL/SQL block:
    begin
      AddRows(
         TTable( TRow(1,2), TRow(1,3), TRow(2,1), TRow(3,2) )
    end;
    The problem with this approach is that each time the client constructs such a block it will not be a sharable PL/SQL & SQL block. This approach can thus severely fragment the Oracle shared pool and cause a huge performance knock.
    An alternate approach can be used if OCI object calls are not supported or too complex on the client side. Create a PL/SQL package with a static session collection variable.
    The client calls the AddRow() procedure in the package. This procedure extends the static collection variable and adds the row to it. No INSERT yet.
    When the client has made n number of AddRow() calls, the procedure "flushes" the contents of the static collection to disk using a bulk FORALL INSERT statement, after which it resets the static collection variable to zero/null.
    The potential problem with approach is PGA - making sure that the size of the static collection variable in PL/SQL does not get out of hand.
    The prime consideration is however to write sharable SQL.

    Ok just as I expected. So I guess I am left with the following two options
    1) either I switched to using JAXB in my apps instaed of xmlbeans....
    2) or if I still wanna use the old JAX-RPC web services to deploy on the Weblogic 10gR3 server i will have to create my own ant task jwsc directly......as shown below in your docs
    Programming Web Services for WebLogic Server (ant tasks)
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs92/webserv/anttasks.html
    Getting Started With WebLogic Web Services Using JAX-RPC
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/webserv_rpc/index.html
    Will OEPE be supporting the old JAX-RPC anytime in the near future release? or have to create own build ant task to call jwsc ant task directly to compile JAX-RPC web services??

  • Passing HTTP Headers from BPEL to a RESTFul service in SOA 11g PS2.

    Hi All,
    We have the following requirement.
    We need to pass the following headers to RESTFul service.
    x_invensys_wss_username = "Some UserName"
    x_invensys_wss_password = "Some Password".
    I tried to first pass username and password properties by following below post.
    Attach Http headers in BPEL Process
    Specifically below steps..
    Hi,
    If you are talking about how to invoke a secured webservice...please follow this...
    After creating the reference for your secured webservice in your composite, right click on the composite and say configure web service policies...
    Add the security policy named "oracle/wss_http_token_client_policy"
    And also, for the reference, create two binding properties
    1. oracle.webservices.auth.username
    2. oracle.webservices.auth.password
    For the above two properties, provide the appropriate values.....
    Please test the same after making this changes and let me know....
    Thanks,
    Narsing Pumandla
    ======================================================
    Somehow i don't see the headers getting added to the call.
    The service i am calling don't really need these headers.But the URL we will be calling shortly for the real application need them.
    Can someone let me know whether this SOA version supports this or not.?
    If yes , Then what is the best way to solve this issue.[i.e Able to send hardcoded values and also user specified values.]
    Thanks,
    Sid.

    I am using this URL : api.geonames.org/postalCodeSearch?postalcode=90110&username=siddhardha
    I see below message in audit trail.Not sure why the headers are not visible.
    Am i missing something which is very fundamental.?

  • Call rest services and populate ViewObject

    Hi All,
       I have scenario where i need to populate the view object data from rest services and while loading the task flow i need to call the rest service and load data into view object.
      So i marked java bean method as default activity in task flow where i am calling my rest service. Now i want to call a view object method in side my java bean method which is marked as default acity in task flow.
      So could any body tell me how can i call a view object method in java bean method which is added as method activity in task flow?
    Note: I am using jdeveloper version 11.1.1.6

  • Calling REST Services that accept JSON objects from BPEL Process

    Hi,
    I do have a requirement of calling RESTful service from the BPEL process (SOA Suite 11.1.1.5). The RESTful service accepts the payload as JSON object.
    I have gone through the documentation of HTTP binding through which we can call RESTful services from BPEL. But the payload option is coming as only XML.
    So just wondering whether BPEL has out-of-the box support for JSON object payloads when calling REST service? Please let me know if you have any pointers on this.
    Thanks & Regards
    S

    Hi Vijay,
    Thanks for the links Vijay.
    Went through the links and the documentation. From that i could see the only way is coming up with Java based proxy which takes care of XML to JSON conversion and calling the REST based service. This would actually need a java developer now :)
    Regards
    Siva

    I am trying to set this map data using java code ,
         HashMap procADMap1 = new HashMap(5);
                   PropertyTypeWS pType = new PropertyTypeWS();
                   pType.setTypeIndex(2);
              AppdataDefImplWS appData1 = new AppdataDefImplWS();
              appData1.setName("Project");
              appData1.setType(pType);
              appData1.setMaxSize(400);
              appData1.setLOB(false);
         appData1.setDefaultValue("Project Default value");
              procADMap1.put(appData1.getName(), appData1);
              setVariableData("request","createNs","/createNs/namespaceData/appdataDef",procADMap1);
    Then I am passing request object to the method which I want to invoke from bpel process.
    I am able to deploy the application but when I do post message I am getting following exception,
    NamespaceWithMap (createNamespace) (faulted)

    Is there any other way to handle Map type in bpel process?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sanjay

    Thanks for the quick reply.Actually the web service is already deployed on the server.What I want to do is use existing wsdl file of the deployed web service and invoke the method of the same using oracle PM.
    If I remove element which uses apachesoap:Map type it just works fine also I am getting the complex object returned by the web service method.But when I try to set appDataDef which is of type apachesoap:Map(Axis conversion for java.util.Map and it uses namespace xmlns:apachesoap="http://xml.apache.org/xml-soap") I am getting the error.
    Can you give me some direction to use this exising wsdl file to set map object or it is not possible.

  • Do SMP3.0 supports JSON based RESTful services exposed via JBOSS server??

    Hi All,
    We are working on a PoC for a customer to consume JSON based RESTful (exposed via JBOSS Server) service from SMP 3.0. We were not able to get the DataSet. the below are the steps which we performed and the respective result.
    1) Created a SMP Application - Able to ping the application with the base URL
    2) Tested the connections - Able to create a Registration using Firefox POSTMAN client
    3) Data Consumption from the service - We are not able to get the response for the service when we try the same via SMP,but we are able to get the data when we try the REST service URL directly from the browser.
    How do we achieve this? Do SMP3.0 support JSON based RESTful service? Can Integration Gateway Help?
    Thanks, Prem

    hi Jitendra,
    attached are the screen shots of both SMP service from postman we tried and the original service from the browser.
    1- postman ping for SMP URL and header says success.
    2- Response body with entity set structure and empty data there is no data inside the collection named "Connection" as well and if i call this i fails with 501, that not implemented, so i guess SMP3 is unable to create the entity set out the JSON REST services while converting it into Odata service internally.
    3- i can view data if run directly the REST service from browser.

  • Pass json result of rest webservice into page items

    Hello,
    I have created a webservice reference, and a from with report on that webservice. I fill in a zipcode and click submit and the results will put in a collection.
    The response is a json object and is stored in the CLOB001 column of the collection. Example. : {"success":true,"resource":{"street":"Amsterdamseweg","postcode":"1181BP","town":"Amstelveen","municipality":"Amstelveen","province":"Noord-Holland","latitude":52.3163363636,"longitude":4.856420303}}.
    But I want that if you fill in a zipcode that only the values of street and town from the json object will passed in two seperated page items. What is the best way to achieve this?

  • The Proper way to go - Passing Serialized Java Objects vs. Web Services?

    The team which I am apart of in our little "community" is trying to convince some "others" (management) that we should not use web services to communicate (move large data) within the same application (allbeit a huge application spanning across many servers).
    Furthermore these "others" are trying to tell us that in this same application when two small apps. inside of this large app. are both java we should not communicate via serialized java objects but instead we should use Web Services and XML. We are trying to convince them that the simplest way is best.
    They have asked us to provide them with proof that passing serialized java objects back and forth between two smaller java applications inside of a larger one is an Industry Standard. Can anyone help either straighten my fellow workers and I out or help us convince the "others" of the proper way to go?

    When I was a consultant we always gave the client what they wanted. Even if it was the wrong choice. Suck it up.
    I'm glad I wasn't one of those customers. Although I agree that a customer is the one who decides what to do, when I pay someone for consultancy, I expect them to consult me. If they know I'm trying to do something that I shouldn't be doing, I expect a good consultant to be able to show me that there's a better way (not just tell me I'm not doing it right, mind you).
    We pass a lot of data using XML and we don't have any transmission or processing speed issues.
    Then you either have a much better network than our customer did, or we're not talking about the same amounts of data here.
    I used the JAX-RPC RI ...
    That's cool... our customer was, unfortunately, infected with Borland products, so we had to use BES. The web services on BES were run by Axis.
    How large were these messages?
    Huge... each element had about 15 attributes, so 1,200 elements would require 19,200 XML nodes (envelope not included). By comparison, the serialized messages weren't even a quarter that size. It's not just about what you send across the network; it's also the effort of parsing XML compared to desrializing Java objects. Our web service wasn't exactly the only process running at the server.
    Anyone who understand the fundamental difference between ASCII (XML) and binary (serialized) formats realizes that no web service can possibly achieve the performance of binary Java services. Why do you think that work is being put into binary web services? I'm not saying XML is never a good thing; just that it's not The Holy Grail that a lot of people are making it look like.
    http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS-688
    Ouch.

    For now you can write a Java class to communicate with your JSON service, and expose it as a data control.
