Passing parameters to an included xsql file (using xsql:include-xsql)

Hi,
because I want to use different stylesheets for my transformations I use the setup with including the actual query xsql file from a sort of wrapper xsql files around it with a different stylesheet instruction.
All is fine but request parameters given to the wrapper xsql file are not visible in the actual query xsql file.
I pass values to the included file as follows:
<xsql:include href="url_off_file_to_include?p_par1={@p_par1}" reparse="yes" />
The wrapper file has received the p_par1 parameter first.
The value of the parameter does not end up in the included file.
Any ideas ??

The include directive <%@ include %> adds the included file inline into including JSP.
You probably would want to use the include action: <jsp:include page="includedPage.jsp" />. This will add the response of the included page at that location.
However, keep in mind that the var in <c:forEach> would be scoped to within the tag, so it won't be accessible to the included page. What you can do, is use <c:set var="anotherVar" value="${vf}" scope="request" />. This will allow the contents of vf to be accessible in the included page via "anotherVar".

  • How to dynamically include jsp files using jsf el in include tag ?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to get the jsp file name from my backing bean to use it in an include tag but I can't make it work
    When using this piece of code I can get the generated path
             <h:outputText value="/_partial/#{myBean.jspName}.jsp"/>whereas in this code the jsf el is not replaced by this value.
            <%@ include file="/_partial/#{myBean.jspName}.jsp" %> Have you any idea of how to solve this ? I'm currently developing for J2EE 1.4 platform.
    Thanks for your help,
    Regards.

    If you're using JSF 1.2 and JSTL 1.2 at a JSP 2.1 environment, then you can just use <jsp:include> with unified EL.
    If you're using JSF 1.1, then you may find this article useful [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/01/dynamic-jsf-subviews.html]

  • Passing parameters to included JSP files using JSF

    I have one included page in one jsp page(mother page). I have included it by jsp:include tag. The included page consists of two inputText. I need to pass the parameters of the mother page together with the parameters in the included page in the backingBean of the mother page. Hope this one is clearer.
    The code snippet in the mother page looks like this
    <jsp:include page="/pages/ps/sample_rep2.jsp"/>.
    In the sample_rep2.jsp, I have two inputText. How can I pass this in the backingBean of the motherpage.
    The sample_rep2.jsp is the included page here. The sample_rep2.jsp looks like this:

  • Passing parameters to table valued functions and using parameters as column name on select

    I am creating a function where I want to pass it parameters and then use those parameters in a select statement. When I do that it selects the variable name as a literal not a column. How do I switch that context.
    Query:
    ALTER FUNCTION [dbo].[ufn_Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison_parser_v2]
    @BANNER_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX),
    @ORION_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX)
    RETURNS @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison TABLE
    LAST_NAME nvarchar(max),
    EMPNO int,
    BannerColumnName nvarchar(max),
    BANNER nvarchar(max),
    ORION nvarchar(max)
    AS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison
    (LAST_NAME, BANNER, ORION)
    SELECT
    a.LAST_NAME, @BANNER_COLUMN, @ORION_COLUMN
    FROM OPENQUERY(ORCLPROD_APDORACLE, 'select LAST_NAME, BANNER_RANK, BADGE, EMP_STATUS from XTRACT_VIEW') AS a
    inner join IWM_Stage.dbo.ViewPersonnel AS b
    on a.BADGE = b.badge
    WHERE a.EMP_STATUS = 'A'
    and a.BANNER_RANK <> b.[rank]
    RETURN;
    END;
    GO
    Output
    I execute this:
    select * from ufn_Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison_parser_v2 ('a.BANNER_RANK' , 'b.[rank]')
    and get:
    Cerecerez NULL
    NULL a.BANNER_RANK
    b.[rank]

    George,
    You could go for using a CASE statement as earlier mentioned by Erland. This would look like below: (Downside is that you need to be mentioning all possible values in the CASE)
    ALTER FUNCTION [dbo].[ufn_Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison_parser_v2]
    @BANNER_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX),
    @ORION_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX)
    RETURNS @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison TABLE
    LAST_NAME nvarchar(max),
    EMPNO int,
    BannerColumnName nvarchar(max),
    BANNER nvarchar(max),
    ORION nvarchar(max)
    AS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison(LAST_NAME, BANNER, ORION)
    SELECT
    a.LAST_NAME
    , CASE @BANNER_COLUMN WHEN 'a.BANNER_RANK' THEN a.BANNER_RANK WHEN 'a.BADGE' THEN a.BADGE END --put values as required
    , CASE @ORION_COLUMN WHEN 'b.[rank]' THEN b.[rank] END --put values as required
    FROM OPENQUERY(ORCLPROD_APDORACLE, 'select LAST_NAME, BANNER_RANK, BADGE, EMP_STATUS from XTRACT_VIEW') AS a
    inner join IWM_Stage.dbo.ViewPersonnel AS b
    on a.BADGE = b.badge
    WHERE a.EMP_STATUS = 'A'
    and a.BANNER_RANK <> b.[rank]
    RETURN;
    END;
    GO
    Another method that I would suggest is to get all values from the function, then build a dynamic query to obtain results from it .. Something like:
    ALTER FUNCTION [dbo].[ufn_Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison_parser_v2]()
    RETURNS @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison TABLE
    LAST_NAME nvarchar(max),
    EMPNO int,
    BannerColumnName nvarchar(max),
    BANNER nvarchar(max),
    ORION nvarchar(max)
    AS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison(LAST_NAME, BANNER, ORION)
    SELECT
    * --Returns all the columns
    FROM OPENQUERY(ORCLPROD_APDORACLE, 'select LAST_NAME, BANNER_RANK, BADGE, EMP_STATUS from XTRACT_VIEW') AS a
    inner join IWM_Stage.dbo.ViewPersonnel AS b
    on a.BADGE = b.badge
    WHERE a.EMP_STATUS = 'A'
    and a.BANNER_RANK <> b.[rank]
    RETURN;
    END;
    GO
    --Execution
    DECLARE @BANNER_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX), @ORION_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX),@SQL NVARCHAR(MAX)
    SET @BANNER_COLUMN='BANNER_RANK'
    SET @ORION_COLUMN='[rank]'
    SET @SQL='
    select LAST_NAME,'+@BANNER_COLUMN+','+@ORION_COLUMN+' from ufn_Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison_parser_v2 ()'
    PRINT @SQL
    EXEC @SQL
    You just need to make sure that the column names returned by the function are UNIQUE (Using proper alias names) so that you don't have a problem referring to them from the outside..
    Thanks,
    Jay

  • Pass Passord Variable to a Batch File using Execute Process Task

    I have an FTP batch file that I want to execute using Execute Process Task. The content of the ftp (ftpscript.cmd) is as below:
    open ftpsite
    UserName
    Password
    ASCII
    get file  c:\temp\test.txt
    bye
    Using SSIS Execute process task, I was able to download data. I configured the Execute Process task as follows:
    Executable: ftp.exe
    Arguments: -s:"c:\temp\ftpscript.cmd"
    The above works fine. But the problem is that I don't want to store the password value in the batch file for security/policy reasons. Please, is there a way I can pass the password value to the ftp executable or the batch file at run time?
    I know how to get and store variables in SSIS but I don't know how to pass this kind of variable to the batch file just before execution.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

    you can dynamically generate the source (CMD) for the FTP and delete after the execution. The password can be stored in a secure database for example, not 100 % secure, but the best you can do.
    Another option I did was an encrypted VBScript (also quite easy to open in plain text to some people).
    Finally it can be a binary e.g. an EXE with the FTP called as process in it.

  • Passing parameters to a report via URL : using 'like' and '%' ?

    Hi,
    I have created a report by sql query, and I'm calling it by the means of a URL with a '.show' extension, and then I can specify as many parameters as I wish.
    In my case I use a string as a bind variable ans I would like to pass it as a condition to render the report.
    Thus I tried to use that :
    "[call_url].show?p_arg_names=_[...]_cond&p_arg_values=like&p_arg_names=_[...]_[bind_variable]&p_arg_values=[xxx]"
    To be able to use it I have to add a '%' at the end of it, so that I get all the rows beginning with the letters I specified, ie 'xxx' could be 'A%', so that I get all the rows beginning with an A.
    The problem is that this character is not effective. I succeeded with the '_' character, but it brings a limitation to the length of the field, and it's not what I want. I also tried this : "...p_arg_values=A'&'%'", but I didn't manage to make it work !
    Any idea appreciated !
    Regards,
    gael.

    Hi Gael,
    your URL is made up of :
    [ProcedureName]?[parameter1]=[value1]&[parameter2]=[value2]
    creating URLs like this can have problems especially with spaces and punctuation.
    the answer is a FORM
    the following will create a hidden form :
    FORM ACTION="[ProcedureName]" METHOD="POST" name="F1"
    INPUT type="HIDDEN" name="[parameter1]" value="[value1]"
    INPUT type="HIDDEN" name="[parameter2]" value="[value2]"
    /FORM
    you can set the values in the form using:
    document.F1.[parameter1].value="abc123%%&&$$!";
    document.F1.submit();
    will submit the form and the PL/SQL procedure should receive the text as it was contained in the form.
    the only characters that can now cause problems are :
    " as it delimits the field.
    ' as it may cause problems in PL/SQL.
    \ as it is a special character.

  • ADF: Passing parameters from one page to another using setPropertyListener

    Hi,
    I'm trying to find a simple way to pass a parameter from one page to another.
    On the first page I have a table, the second page is a history page, showing the change history of rows from the table on the first page.
    In the table on the first page there's a unique column (an order number), the value of which is never changed for a given row.
    What I would like is to be able to pass the order number from the currently selected row of the first page on to the history page, making the history page show only the history for the given order number.
    Using the task-flow for the history page, I've defined an input parameter (an order number), defined a criteria and so on. I've tested the functionality of this in the Application Module, and it seems to work.
    My problem is passing the order number from the first page to the second.
    I've created a Managed Bean, with a variable for the current order number, including accessors. On the table on the first page, I've created a contextMenu, and added an Item called "Show history" with an action that navigated from the first to the second page (a control flow I've defined in adfc-config). I've included a setPropertyListener in the "Show history" item. I've set the "From" property of the setPropertyListener to "#{row.ordernumber.attributeValue}" and the "To" property to point at the order variable in the Managed Bean. Finally, I created a new page for the history, dragged the history task flow onto this page as a region, using the Managed Bean order variable as input parameter.
    The result is this: When I bring up the context menu from a row in the table on the first page and select "Show history", I get this error: "The class 'java.lang.String' does not have the property 'attributeValue'."
    That's a bit puzzling to me, seeing as I used the Expression Builder to fill out the "From" property. I've tried using "inputValue" instead of "attributeValue", but that simply changes the error message to: "The class 'java.lang.String' does not have the property 'inputValue'."
    What am I doing wrong?
    Regards,
    Andreas

    Hi Timo and Puthanampatti,
    I actually tried something similar to what you have suggested before starting this thread, but still got an error. What I hadn't spent a lot of time investigating initially was that it gave a DIFFERENT error. But after reading Timo's suggestion, I went back to this other error and found out that it was connected to my Managed Bean. For some reason, I had made the mistake of giving the bean the same name (in adfc-config) as the actual java class. And this leads to a circular reference error (that I would only get to see when I didn't get the java.lang.String error first).
    Having fixed this, I can successfully pass my parameter from one page to another (with the "From" property of the setPropertyListener set to "#{row.ordernumber}").
    Thanks for your time,
    Andreas

  • Passing parameters from JSP to Batch file

    hi,
    i had a small problem regarding passing parameter from JSP to a batch file.
    My program is like this..........
    I wrote a batch file which opens and pings a remote system. Code looks like this......
    ping %1 -t
    which takes one argument and named this as "a.bat"
    The corresponding JSP page has lot of links which contains IP Addressess. From JSP page, i am calling "a.bat" so that it will open and start pinging corresponding IP Address. So i want to know how can i pass the corresponding IP from a JSP to batch file so that it start pinging remote machine........... can any body help me in this regard??
    Thanks in Advance.
    cheers,
    Sudhakar.

    it might be a permissions problem for the process itself. i once fought for some time with a java app that would mysteriously exit (no exceptions or any VM vomit) i finally discovered that the application was killed when the screen saver came on. just a regular screen saver mind you.
    at any rate i did see this issue and other strange ones like it reported here and there, i think i once say a bug report here on it but I can't seem to find it now. i believe this is fixed in 1.4.
    this of course may not be of much help to you.
    the two workarounds i found were 1) to turn off my screen-saver, 2) set up the program as an NT service. for the NT service i used this stuff http://www.kcmultimedia.com/
    so my suggestion for weird process permission problems on NT would be to try and make it into a service.

  • Passing parameters in jsp

    Hi friends,
    I am very new to oracle pdk. But unfortunately i was assigned to a small pdk development using jsp.
    How can i send parameters in the Oracle jpdk multipage sample portlet .
    The first.jsp says ,
    <%
    PortletRenderRequest prr = (PortletRenderRequest) request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
    NameValuePair[] linkParams = new NameValuePair[1];
    linkParams[0] = new NameValuePair(HttpPortletRendererUtil.portletParameter(request, "next_page"), "/htdocs/multipage/second.jsp");
    %>
    <center>
    Hello, this is the first page<p>
    <%=UrlUtils.constructHTMLLink(prr, UrlUtils.PAGE_LINK, "second page", "", linkParams, true, true)%>
    </center>
    Now where should i add the parameter which i have to send to the second page named second.jsp.
    In the same way how to receive the parameter values in the second.jsp file, the second.jsp is listed here as below.
    <%
    PortletRenderRequest prr = (PortletRenderRequest) request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
    NameValuePair[] linkParams = new NameValuePair[1];
    linkParams[0] = new NameValuePair(HttpPortletRendererUtil.portletParameter(request, "next_page"), "/htdocs/multipage/first.jsp");
    linkParams[1] ="a=hello";
    %>
    <center>
    Hello, this is the second page<p>
    <%=UrlUtils.constructHTMLLink(prr, UrlUtils.PAGE_LINK,
    "first page", "", linkParams, true, true)%>
    </center>
    Please write to me an example in detail.
    Matter is very urgent.

    I just recently put a set of helper classes on my knowledge exchange site specifically to help with passing parameters via the url.
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/servlet/page?_pageid=2106&_dad=ops&_schema=OPSTUDIO&_type=site&_fsiteid=233&_fid=433232&_fnavbarid=180376&_fnavbarsiteid=233&_fedit=0&_fmode=2&_fdisplaymode=1&_fcalledfrom=1&_fdisplayurl=
    I called it Portal Tools. It includes usage documentation.
    but, to stick with the code example you provided,
    Technically, you can pass parameters at least three different ways:
    -Using portal's parameter-event processing (portlets interact with portal for parameters)
    -Using qualified parameter names (portlets only see "their" parameters)
    -Using unqualified parameter names (portlets are responsible for unique names, name collisions, etc)
    I would generally shy away from the unqualified parameter method; it was put in to support older versions of portal.
    The example you provided currently uses qualified parameters, so I will answer with that method.
    To add a parameter "a" with a value of "hello",
    change the setup of the link parameters in first.jsp to this:
    NameValuePair[] linkParams = new NameValuePair[2];
    linkParams[0] = new NameValuePair(HttpPortletRendererUtil.portletParameter(request, "next_page"), "/htdocs/multipage/second.jsp");
    linkParams[1] = new NameValuePair(HttpPortletRendererUtil.portletParameter(request, "a"), "hello");
    note that in the definition line, you must allocate space for EXACTLY how many parameters you are using (2 now, rather than 1). Then in the assignment lines, it is using java standard ZERO based indexing, so the new second parameter is at index 1.
    to get (and display) the parameter in the second.jsp page, you would include something such as this:
    Parameter "A" contains a value of <%= prr.getParameter("a") %>.
    note how you just ask the PRR for the parameter with the unqualified name.
    The "next_page" parameter is defined (in the provider.xml) to be used by portal to manage page flow and display. That is why you only have to set the "next_page" parameter.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to pass parameters to reports

    Hi,
    I am a new user to dev2000, i am struck at passing parameters to the reports, i have used lexical referrences, to the where clause, in the query that i have written in reports builder. It created a user_parameter of that where_clause. now i am trying to pass this parameter, from the form to generate a report btw'n dates. please sugest me if there is any other way, or correct me if i am on the right path, here is the code that i am calling from the form.

    Run_Product(REPORTS, 'REPORT34', ASYNCHRONOUS, BATCH,
    FILESYSTEM, pl_id,NULL);
    END ;
    I am gettting an error saying FRM-41211: Integration error:ssl failure running another product.
    this error is comming when i try to access for the first time, and
    Starting report REPORT34 [Tue Jul 24 16:35:14 2001] ...
    REP-0110: Unable to open file 'REPORT34'.
    REP-1070: Error while opening or saving a document.
    REP-0110: Unable to open file 'REPORT34'.
    End report REPORT34 [Tue Jul 24 16:35:20 2001].
    this for the next time, with out closing runtime env.
    If i have to use RUN_REPORT_OBJECT how can i pass parameters to reports.
    Another thing i encountered is when i am using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT which is working it shows me the parameter form of the reports and when i click on run report, it is just creating a file under forms directory and asking each time when i run report wether to replace it or not and from where it is calling the printer object and actually nothing is being printed, and every thing is fine with the printer and it is not showing the report out put and it shows end of report in the log file of the background report product.

    For your 1st problem it seems to be a bug in Forms 6i - you can visit this site:
    http://pipetalk.revealnet.com/~plsql/
    and find there 41211.

  • Is it possible to pass parameters through eventlisteners?

    Hello everyone!
    Inside a .fla file I have some buttons and each button will tween a different image to the stage. All the images are outside the stage in the same x and y position and I just need to tween the x coordinate.
    Now I'm working with an external document class where I'm trying to hold all my functions and I'm stucked with the Tweens. I'm willing to stay away from the flash tween engine and I'm trying to work with tweenLite.
    My question is: Is it possible to pass parameters through eventListeners so I can use something like this inside my docClass?
         public function animeThis (e:MouseEvent, mc:MovieClip, ep:int):void { //ep stands for endPoint.
         TweenLite.to(mc, 2, {x:ep});
    If this is possible, how am I supposed to write the listeners so it will pass the event to be listened for AND those parameters? And how to build the function so it will receive those parameters and the event?
    If this is not possible, what's the best approach to do this?
    Thanks again!

    So, I understand you need to match buttons with corresponding visuals.
    Here is a suggested approach.
    Since SimpleButton is not a dynamic class, I suggest you have an enhanced base class for these buttons that extends SimpleButton. What is enhanced is that button has reference to the target.
    I wrote code off the top of my head and it may be buggy. But concept is clear:
    This is base class for all the buttons:
    package
         import flash.display.DisplayObject;
         import flash.display.SimpleButton;
         public class NavButton extends SimpleButton
              public var targetObject:DisplayObject
              public function NavButton()
    Now, this is your doc class that utilizes this new buttons:
    package
         import flash.display.DisplayObject;
         import flash.display.MovieClip;
         import flash.display.Sprite;
         import flash.events.Event;
         import flash.events.MouseEvent;
         public class DocClass extends Sprite
              private var btnArray:Array;
              private var visuals:Array;
              // references to objects being swapped
              private var visualIn:MovieClip;
              private var visualOut:MovieClip;
              public function DocClass()
                   if (stage) init();
                   else addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init);
              private function init(e:Event = null):void
                   removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init);
                   // buttons and MCs shouldn't be in the same array - otherwise it is counterintuitive
                   // assuming all the objects are on stage
                   btnArray = [price_btn, pack_btn, brand_btn, position_btn];
                   visuals = [g19_mc, g16_mc, g09_mc, g04_mc];
                   configObjects();
              private function configObjects():void
                   var currentVisual:MovieClip;
                   var currentButton:NavButton;
                   for (var i:int = 0; i < btnArray.length; i++)
                        currentVisual = visuals[i];
                        // hold original positioin
                        currentVisual.hiddenPosition = currentVisual.x;
                        currentButton = btnArray[i];
                        // set target MC
                        currentButton.targetObject = currentVisual;
                        currentVisual.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, placeObject);
                        currentButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, placeObject);
              private function placeObject(e:MouseEvent):void
                   // if NavButton is clicked - make new visual targeted for moving in and currently visible object subject for moving out
                   if (e.currentTarget is NavButton) {
                        visualOut = visualIn;
                        visualIn = NavButton(e.currentTarget).targetObject;
                   else {
                        // otherwise - move visual out
                        visualOut = visualIn;
                   swapVisuals();
               * Accompishes visuals swapping
              private function swapVisuals():void {
                   if (visualIn) TweenLite.to(visualIn, .3, { x:0 } );
                   if (visualOut) TweenLite.to(visualOut, .3, { x:visualOut.hiddenPosition } );

  • Viewing xsql files through browser

    Hi all,
    a basic question regarding creating xsql files using jDeveloper...
    Once created if I hit run, a Netscape browser pops up, accessing ...myhtml/WebAppRunner.html
    this in turn pops up a new Internet explorer browser with the results of the database query as a temp xml file.
    My question is that if I access the <file>.xsql through either browser directly (not using run in jdev) then I just get the textual contents of the file, I thought the database query would be automatically run and only the results shown?
    I want to do simple queries, and be able to enter the filename (and ?paramters) in to the location bar within the browser but currently this doesnt seem to work. Do I have to change any properties or plug-ins for the browser?
    All info gratefully received, regards from an Oracle developer having his first look at this funky xml-world!
    Julian

    The query executes when you "run" the XSQL page through a Web server (JDeveloper includes a simple one-person Web server for development and testing) that invokes the underlying Java code. When you access the same XSQL page through the file system, the code doesn't execute, and, as you have seen, the browser displays the contents of the file.
    To do the kind of testing you describe, you need a Web server, for example, the Web-to-Go server that comes with the XSQL Servlet, or Apache (it's free). OTN has some sample apps that show how to do this. See
    [list][*]WebStore B2B Exchange
    [*]XML Flight Finder[list]
    for more information.
