Passing Parameters to Webservice model context--Exception in execution

Hi
I have a problem while passing the values to the webservice model context.I have 9 input fields in my view 5 of them binded to directly to the model context after mapping. 4 input fields i have binded to seperate node of cardinality 1:1.
My structure is like this
Req_Identity_In(model root node)
Req_Ide_SYNC (Input node of model)
Identity( node )
UserAccount(node)
PersonalAddress(node)
PersonName(Node)
|
givenname,middlename,familyname etc (Attributes)
This structure is similar to bapi user create ECC Function module after exposing as a webservice.
I am using the following code for bindings
==================
String givenName = wdContext.currentPersonNamesDataElement().getGivenName();
String middleName = wdContext.currentPersonNamesDataElement().getMiddleName();
String familyName = wdContext.currentPersonNamesDataElement().getFamilyName();
String additionalFamName = wdContext.currentPersonNamesDataElement().getAdditionalFamilyName();
//getting the data from user for personNames
//passing the data
UserAccountCreateModel userAccountCreateModel = new UserAccountCreateModel();
Request_IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In request_IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In = new Request_IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In(userAccountCreateModel);
IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestMessage_Sync identityUserAccountCreateRequest_Sync = new IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestMessage_Sync(userAccountCreateModel);
request_IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In.setIdentityUserAccountCreateRequest_Sync(identityUserAccountCreateRequest_Sync);
IdtUsrAcctCrteReq_SyncIdt identity = new IdtUsrAcctCrteReq_SyncIdt(userAccountCreateModel);
identityUserAccountCreateRequest_Sync.setIdentity(identity);
IdtUsrAcctCrteReq_SyncUsrAcct userAccount = new IdtUsrAcctCrteReq_SyncUsrAcct(userAccountCreateModel);
identity.setUserAccount(userAccount);
IdtUsrAcctCrteReq_SyncDfltSettings defaultSettings = new IdtUsrAcctCrteReq_SyncDfltSettings(userAccountCreateModel);
userAccount.setDefaultSettings(defaultSettings);
java.util.List<NOSC_PersonalAddress> personalAddress = new ArrayList<NOSC_PersonalAddress>();
userAccount.setPersonalAddress(personalAddress);
NOSC_PersonName personName = new NOSC_PersonName(userAccountCreateModel);
//kalyan
//create the personalAddress model
NOSC_PersonalAddress personalAddrModel = new NOSC_PersonalAddress(userAccountCreateModel);
//create a element for PersonalAddress Node and node element.
IPersonalAddressNode paNodeRef = wdContext.nodePersonalAddress();
IPersonalAddressElement paNodeEle = wdContext.createPersonalAddressElement(personalAddrModel);
//creating an element in Personname subnode and pass the data
IPersonNameNode personNameNodeRef = paNodeRef.nodePersonName();
IPersonNameElement personNameEle = personNameNodeRef.createPersonNameElement(personName);
personNameEle.setGivenName(givenName);
personNameEle.setMiddleName(middleName);
personNameEle.setMiddleName(familyName);
personNameEle.setAdditionalFamilyName(additionalFamName);
//personNameNodeRef.addElement(personNameEle);
//add the PA element to the PA node
paNodeRef.addElement(paNodeEle);
//add to the list
personalAddrModel.setPersonName(personName);
personalAddress.add(0, personalAddrModel);
//kalyan
NOSC_BasicBusinessDocumentMessageHeader messageHeader = new NOSC_BasicBusinessDocumentMessageHeader(userAccountCreateModel);
identityUserAccountCreateRequest_Sync.setMessageHeader(messageHeader);
Response_IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In response = new Response_IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In(userAccountCreateModel);
request_IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In.setResponse(response);
IdentityUserAccountCreateConfirmationMessage_Sync identityUserAccountCreateConfirmation_Sync = new IdentityUserAccountCreateConfirmationMessage_Sync(userAccountCreateModel);
response.setIdentityUserAccountCreateConfirmation_Sync(identityUserAccountCreateConfirmation_Sync);
NOSC_Log log = new NOSC_Log(userAccountCreateModel);
identityUserAccountCreateConfirmation_Sync.setLog(log);
java.util.List<NOSC_LogItem> item = new ArrayList<NOSC_LogItem>();
log.setItem(item);
wdContext.nodeRequest_IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In().bind(request_IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In);
//passing the data
wdThis.wdGetUserCreateCompController().executeIdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In();
//success
//wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportSuccess("The user created successfully");

After executing i am getting the error like this
Exception on execution of web service with WSDL URL 'http://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_DDB660678B8DB6F1934200142220669B/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?sap-client=XXX&sap-user=XXXXX&sap-password=XXXX' with operation 'IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In' in interface 'IdentityUserAccountCreateRequestConfirmation_In'
Is there any wrong in the code while passing the values to the model.
What are the possible causes for this exception.

Kalyan

I am no more working on this.

• Webservice Model

Hi,
I have a webservice mapped to a model, that performs read/ write operation on an excel sheet.
Problem Statement :
1) I have binded the model to a particular component in my webdynpro application
2) I have a view that takes value in the input field - and this is mapped to a model function insert.
The problem lies here : The input field is not accessible - I am not able to insert any value, it's deactive.
Regards
Vinodh

hi Vinodh,
Please keep the two context separate ie bind a context to the input field and at the time of enter or submit set this context to the webservice model context by writing code.I think this will work

• Validation of context attributes with adaptive webservice model

Hi, I am creating a Web Dynpro Java application (on top of Netweaver AS 7.0) using an adaptive webservice model to invoke a webservice.
The webservice has some request attributes of type string with limited length (for example limited to 1 character). I bound the model to component controller context and created a mapping between the component controller context and view context. In the view, I created a form which is bound to the context attributes.
When user enters string values, which are longer than the maximum length specified in webservice WSDL, and submits the form, an exception is thrown when Web Dynpro runtime is trying to assign entered values into context attributes:
com.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdCheckException: Length of character string "abcdef" must be smaller than or same as MaxLength 1;
at com.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdTypeString.checkValid(DdTypeString.java:195)

... 32 more
This exception is thrown before my non-validating action is executed, so I am not able to prevent it or handle it.
Is there any way how to catch this exception or prevent it?
Does anyone know where these model restrictions are stored? I searched the XML files generated for the model, but I haven't found anything. Does the Web Dynpro runtime access WSDL everytime it needs to validate request parameters?
Thanks,
Tomas

No ,This is the preferred and safer way to separate the Model Node and and Input Node and relationship between them by using mapping.
You create your context structure for input and then on action set user input to model data.
Safer it means : Sometimes it happen that model data not populated properly due to network or wrong user input etc ,this time our presentation will be safe and display the proper error message rather the screen went away with null pointer exception.
Regarding your - it require a lot of work. It too much convince for us that rather than writing 50 lines of code
for only input length validation WebDynpro provides us a better model driven solution.

Hi Anumit,
To copy data from master node to target node
try
IPrivateDialogView.ITargetNode TargetNode = wdContext.nodeTarget();
IPrivateDialogView. IMasterNode masterNode = wdContext.nodeMaster();
int size = masterNode.size();
for (int i = 0; i < size; i++)

WDCopyService.copyCorresponding(masterElement, element);
node.addElement(element);
catch(Exception e)
e.printStackTrace();
or you can use this code also
try{

• Pass parameters to iView (VC Model) from Portal

Hello All,
In VC, we have a model that has a start point as input with few input parameters.
As per the WIKI note https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/vc/passing%2bvalues%2bvia%2burl
We were able to make the VC model read the parameters from the URL. Once we got this working, we created a new page in Portal and we added the VC model as an iview to the page.
Is there a way i could add the parameters as a part of configuration of the page or the iview in the portal?
I would like to know if it's possible to pass the value of InputParameter to iView from portal ?
We tried setting the isolation of the iview to URL, to utilize the parameters property. But we are not able to figure out how to pass parameters from here
Any help would be highly appreciated!
THanks,
Naveen

I am using a scenario where a VC form on the front page of our portal sends values to a separate page where the search results are displayed. The url is made up of the PCD id and the neccessary parameters. The target page is displayed as a popup. This works fine. The url looks like this:
http://server:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prteventname/Navigate/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fint.agra.f0000!2fint.agra.f0060!2fd0001!2fframeworkPages!2fint.agra.p0100!2fcom.sap.portal.innerpage!2fcom.sap.portal.contentarea?NavigationTarget=navurl%3A%2F%2F9c506d0cfa29ad6f8d27790117c4c622&_paramsXmlStr_=<Params><Row%20FSTNAME_M='henning'%20LASTNAME_M='strand'></Params>;
Does this describe a similar scenario as you want?

• Deleting a WebService model

Hello all,
The Webservice model I have used has changed, so I need to delete the model and create a new one so that the model recognizes the new methods/parameters in the webservice. I tried the following steps
1) Deleted the Model from the usedModels
2) Deleted the Model itself from within the Models folder
3) Added the changed model.
4) Bound the model to the component controller(using apply template on the Component controller).
5) Mapped the context of the component controller to the view controller.
For #3: The first error I found was that I could not use the same package name as with the prior model. It gave a package not empty error. The execute method from the prior model was not excepted since WD for some reason thinks that the method still exists.
For#4) The component controller still has the execute method from the deleted model and the new execute method is not showing up in the component controller public class.
Also there are a lot of errors specially pertaining to the IPrivate method of the component controller.
Is the sequence of steps to delete the model correct or am I missing something? I am using NWDS 2.0.9 build id 200411030238
Thanks,
Asheesh

Ok its been a while since I last "re-imported" a Web Service... so to avoide confusion, heres the actualy proceure that I did.
1) **** Backup your project .... very important
2) Delete the webservice model from the model list in Web Dynpro Explorer.
3) WD Explorer -> src -> packages -> wsdls and delete the appropriate property file (pls see previous posting on how to determine while file to be deleted).
4) WD Explorer - src -> packages -> (drill down to where you stored your webservice model and delete it)
5) @ this stage, you will get alot of errors in the Task window. Termintae NWDS and re-start it again.
6) Import your new web service model (using the same name as before).
7) After importing, do a Repair -> Project Structure and Classpath followed by a Rebuild.

• Issue with passing parameters from JSP to Backing bean

hi ,
I have an issue in passing parameters from my JSP to backing bean. I want to fetch the parameter from my URL in backing bean .This is how i am coding it right now. But the parameter companyID returns me null.

Thanks

Thanks very much for your input. I made changes to my bean accordingly. Actually the method getAdminType() is a not a getter of a property. It's just a method which iam calling in AdminController bean constructor to verify whether the person is System Admin or Client admin. So now the issue is inspite of making changes still the link "Copy Users" shows up for Client admin too which is incorrect.

• Passing parameters to Update page

Hi,
I created the search/create/update page going by the instructions in the tutorial exercise. My primary key is a combination of employee number AND sequence number.
When I query the employee in the search page and if the employee has more than one record it displays all the records for that employee.
When I click on the "update" button on one of the record, It is not displaying me the record on which I clicked the "update" button. Instead it is displaying me the other record for the same employee. I believe I need to pass the sequence value as the parameter, but do not know how to pass it. Can anyone one help me accomplish this?
Thanks in advance,
Al

Hi,
I created a new method(initQueryUpdate) in the VOImpl(here I am also setting the where clause).
Also created a method(initDetailsUpdate) in the AMImpl and I am calling the vo.initQueryUpdate in AM code.
I am also passing the parameters to method via a call in the ReviewupdateCO(am.invokeMethod("initDetailsUpdate", params);).
It is compiling the entire jpr without any errors.
When I Search an employee and clisk on the update button then I am geting the following error.
I tried to pass parameters by putting them on the update button property with the action type of "fireAction.
I also tried by making the actiontype "none" and putting the forwarding apge with parameters in the "Destination URL" property and still I get the error message when I run it. Any one has any clues.
Thanks in Advance,
Ali

• JCo destination error while executing the webservice model

Hi,
I have explained what I have done so far and whats my issue right now.
My requirement is calling a PI interface (exposed as webservice) from webdynpro for java and setting some parameter value to the PI interface based on which our functional flow will continue.
Done so Far :
1. Created a webdynpro for java application using NWDI.
2. received the WSDL file of the PI interface and imported as "Adaptive webservice model" into webdynpro.
3. used the model and set the parameters to PI interface and executed the model.
4. I have created JCO destinations in the source system (where the application runs) to communicate to the PI system. A special user has been created and assigned in the connection for communicating.
5. Also I have created the "Dynamic Webseviceproxies" in visual admin with the same name as the JCO destinations. It had a property "URL" for which I have tested with providing both the PI server URL (Http://<Hostname>:<Port no>) and also the complete webservice URL (Which calls the WSDL file directly)
when I run the application, I get the following error.
1. Exception on creation of service metadata for WS metadata destination 'WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST' and WS interface '{<Interface Name>'. One possible reason is that the metadata destination 'WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST' has not been properly configured; check configuration.
after some exception the next error follows
2. Invalid Response Code 403 while accessing URL: <The URL which I have provided in the webservice proxy in Visual admin tool> Response Message: Forbidden.
after some lines of exception from PI server the next error follows.
3. Error: You are not authorized to view the requested resource
My Question :
1. Do I miss anything in Configuration?
2. Is my way of approach wrong?
3. Any additional authorization needed?
Kindly provide some ideas and inputs.
Regards,
Mahendran B.

Dear Mahendran
JCO destination will not used for the Web Service Model. While creating the webservice model, you need to use the logical destination which you have created in the Visual Admin.
Please refer to the Secured WebServices II and verify currently used webservice logical destination How To Reimport Web Service Models in Web Dynpro for Java

• Passing Parameters via OpenDocument URL to OLAP Analysis .amw

Hello together,
did anyone ever manage to successfully create an OpenDocument URL which passes parameters to an existing analysis workspace .amw?
We already linked to other .crp and BEx reports, but maybe .amw needs some special syntax..
I appreciate every hint
Thanks
CR Enterprise 4.0 SP2 in usage

Hi,
I can confirm: The situation for A-OLAP is the same as it was for Voyager.
Analysis, like voyager, supports outbound opendoc params (ie pass context to WebI/CR) but not inbound params. The only exception is that you can specify which Voyager workspace to open.
Voyager/analysis supports SAP connection parameters on opendoc, but this is a manual selection in prompts. You cannot programmatically set connection variables.
Today we also support "Jumplinks"... a feature in both Voyager and A-OLAP that allows contextual information to be passed to a pre-defined Crystal Report.
For BI4.1 (end 2012) SAP plans to make A-OLAP more open. This includes supporting SAP's Report-Report-Interface (RRI) and extending the OpenDocument parameters beyond just the workspace name that is supported today.

• Usage of Adaptive webservice Model

Hi ,
I am using a webservice which is created from my CAF Project. When i am using the deprecated Webservice Model then i am getting the required output. But when i am using Adaptive Webdynpro Model then we are getting a Null pointer exception or my input fields are getting diasbled. I am using service contriller to map the model elemnts to my context.
Can u please help me out...

HI,
there are few settings need to be setup before you start using Adaptive webservice model just check the doc, might be heplfull.

• Posting parameters with Webservice class

HI,
I'm trying to use the mx.services.webservice class to
interrogate and use my .net services. Everything seems to work as
documented with the exception of passing parameters. There is
little documentation on how to pass parameters, but a few examples
seem to indicate passing an ordered list as parameters to the
method name. So my web service - GetTableOfContents expects a
string parameter - SectionName. I assumed
WS.GetTableOfContents("TheSectionName") would
accomplish this, but on inspection of the request xml
TheSectionName is not included in the xml. Below I've attached the
webservices debug/info output so you can see what I mean. Note at
the end the trace of the xml the webservice class builds for the
request and note the request bit -
<request><SectionName
/></request> with a blank parameter tag.
The parameter is being interpreted in some way by the
webservices class as you can see at 2/4 10:34:7 SOAP : parameter -
value - MySectionName, but it's not being in cluded in the xml
immediately after. Anyone seen this behaviour and know what might
be going wrong?

Thankyou very much for your reply, Eric (both here and in the web services forum).
The way I generate the web service is just to right click on the java file and say 'generate web service'. I can't seem to get at the code that is generated, but it appears that there is nothing in there that I can change to rename the classes.
I may just live with it and refactor the existing client code to match the class names that are given.

• Error while creating a webservice model

Hi All,
I am doing the EMail WebService exercise. While creating the webservice model I select the UDDI or URL Radio button and in the wsdl field I paste the following url : http://www.abysal.com/soap/AbysalEmail.wsdl .
When I click next in the proxy definition screen, I get the message Invalid WSDL or WSDL not found and the Finish button is not highlighted.
I checked the webservice mentioned above it is fine and working. I cannot understand why this is not accepted in NWDS
Pls Reply ASAP

Hi,
I am using the Proxy to connect to the internet so i used the proxy connection to send the mail.
For me the web service is just working fine.
I do not know where the problem is occuring for you.
There is already ready-made tutorial for this application...
Ready Made Application
you download it and give the proxy parameters and try to execute the application. Now this should work fine for you.
Hope it helps.

• Passing parameters to PL/SQL table types

Hi Everybody,
I have one question about passing PL/SQL tables types and tabs as IN parameter in procedure.I am working in 11.2.0.2.0 environment. I am stuck on how to pass those values to procedure.Please find below more details:
Table 1:
CREATE TABLE ITEMS
ITEM_ID VARCHAR2(40 BYTE) NOT NULL,
ITEM_NAME VARCHAR2(40 BYTE),
SERIAL NUMBER(2),
ADDED_ON DATE);
Table 2:
CREATE TABLE ITEM_ACTIVITY_INFO
ITEM_ID VARCHAR2(40 BYTE) NOT NULL,
ACCOUNT_TYPE VARCHAR2(1 BYTE),
ID_NUMBER NUMBER(3),
ACTIVATION_DATE DATE);
Table 3:
CREATE TABLE ITEM_GROUP
GROUP_ID NUMBER(2) NOT NULL,
ITEM_ID VARCHAR2(40 BYTE),
GROUP_TYPE VARCHAR2(20 BYTE),
GROUP_DATE DATE);
Table 4:
CREATE TABLE ITEM_ADDRESS
GROUP_ID NUMBER(2) NOT NULL,
NAME VARCHAR2(60 BYTE),
ADDRESS VARCHAR2(100));
Following types are created:
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE ITEMS_TYPE AS OBJECT
ITEM_ID VARCHAR2(40 BYTE),
ITEM_NAME VARCHAR2(40 BYTE),
SERIAL NUMBER(2),
ADDED_ON DATE);
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE ITEM_ACTIVITY_TYPE AS OBJECT
ITEM_ID VARCHAR2(40 BYTE),
ACCOUNT_TYPE VARCHAR2(1 BYTE),
ID_NUMBER NUMBER(3),
ACTIVATION_DATE DATE);
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE ITEM_GROUP_COMP_TYPE AS OBJECT
GROUP_ID NUMBER(2) NOT NULL,
ITEM_ID VARCHAR2(40 BYTE),
GROUP_TYPE VARCHAR2(20 BYTE),
GROUP_DATE DATE
ITEM_ADDRESS_IN ITEM_ADDRESS_TYPE);
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE ITEM_ADDRESS_TYPE AS OBJECT
GROUP_ID NUMBER(2),
NAME VARCHAR2(60 BYTE),
ADDRESS VARCHAR2(100));
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE ITEM_GROUP_COMP_TAB AS TABLE OF ITEM_GROUP_COMP_TYPE;
Create or replace procedure ITEM_ADD_CHANGE(
ITEM_IN IN ITEMS_TYPE,
ITEM_ACTIVITY_IN IN ITEM_ACTIVITY_TYPE,
ITEM_GROUP_IN IN ITEM_GROUP_COMP_TAB,
ITEM_OUT IN OUT ITEMS.ITEM_ID%TYPE);
Above are the paramteres we are passing to procedure.
I need help in how to pass parameters to above procedure. All comments and responses will be highly appreciated. Thanks everyone for going through the post. Please let me know if more more information is required on this problem.

Types used in this fashion, only make sense if the table is based on the type. It makes very little sense to have a table structure and then to duplicate the structure using a type.
The 2 structures may be defined the same. But they are NOT interchangeable and requires one to be converted to the other to use. This is not sensible in my view. It is far easier in that case to simply use the PL/SQL macro +%RowType+ to create a duplicate structure definition - one that can natively be used for touching that table, without conversions required.
If you do want to use types, define the type, then define the table of that type, adding the required constraints (pk, fk, not null, check) to the table's definition.Billy:
Just curious, why do you say it makes very little sense to have a type modeled on a table? I do that a lot. In my case, I am getting the values from an external program, not building them manually, but it makes a lot of sense to me.
One application where I do this a lot has a java front-end that parses HL7 messages. Each message contains at least minimal information about a variable number of entities (and often several rows for an entity) in the database, and must be processed as a single atomic trasnaction. So, rather than have potentially hundreds of parameters to the "main" driver procedures for different message types I created a set of types more or less identical to the tables representing the entities. The java program parses the mesasge and populates the type, then calls the appropriate stored procedure for the message type passing in the populated types. My stored procedure then does inserts/updates or deletes as appropriate over potentially dozens of tables.
