Passing values from column formula to other report
Hi Experts,
we have created a report with table view as
Month Asia_Sales Europe_Sales Total
2012-12 1234 4566
2012-11 4546 7897
Asia_sales = filter(sales where region='Asia')
Europe_Sales = filter(sales where region='Europe')
now i have created a child report,with action link on asia_sales and europe_sales
month customer sales
2012-12 abc 111
this report shall have filter based on column clicked (i.e when user click on asia_sales report shall show data related to asia only)
please enlighten any approach to achieve this
Other work around is to keep the Region column as Dimension in the pivot table (in column section) and use common measure.
it will be piovite table having
...............Asia..............Europe..........xyz
month.....measure........measure....measure
2012-01......220.............300...........955
2012-02.....3434...........5485.........656
here the measure will be common.
I this case if you click on measure, region column will also be prompted. You can use Is Prompted for month,region in sub report.
In your old case region wont be prompted.

I am trying to pass filter value from the column LY Spend YTD columns where we have a filter option and passing the year filter 2013 as below.
FILTER("Fact - Purchasing - Invoice"."LY Spend YTD" USING (Time."Year" = '2013'))
My goal behind doing this is, we have a filter already present for the whole criteria on the year which is 2012.
But specifically for this column i dont want to pass the year 2012 to it, Instead I want to pass 2013 to it. But I am not succeding the result is blank.

I cannot do that way because some measures are satisfying with year 2012 and displaying the data and other measure are satisfying with 2013.
I am working on LY Spend YTD, LY spend YTD - 1, Spend YTD and Year ago spend.
So thats the reason I have thought that way of passing the filter in column formula irrespective of criteria filter.
Please suggest. -
Loading components 1 by 1 [passing value from 1st component to other]

can anyone tell that how to load component one after one.
In my application I have created components and placed in
another component. when i load the page each component is loading
the data Asyncronesly. But i want to load 1st component 1st and
then set value to other components from 1st component.
In 1st component i am filling dropdown and setting property
in that component after setting the property i want to pass that
value to other components and based on that property i set the
corresponding data should be populated in ohter component. how can
i achieve this.
like in second component i am filling tje datagrid items
based on selected value from the dropdown in 1st component..
I just want to pass the property which i set in 1st component
to other components and load the other components after the 1st
component is loaded completely with data..

I have a page where i accept a starting date and ending date as a parameter
its source i set it as preference or application item
Now in the other page I calls a jasper report..
so it refers the first page.. I am not able to access the start_date which is in other page
start_date and end_date
Start_date shows as null
Am confused over what is preference and application item
Where will we use preference as a source type.

A buttons calls other page
The other page
when i call jasper report I Pass the parameter value as :p103_start_issue and :p103_end_issue
But the actual value is null for those fields..
How can i acess the actual value..

Where will we use preference as a source type.A Page item is the most short-lived way to store variables in session state. Page items are routinely (although not always) cleared when entering or leaving a page. They are generally used to store a value that changes most times that you enter a page. Page items are also generally intended for use primarily by code on that page. This is not to say that other pages can not or will not use them, but access from other pages has to be controlled so that they are not trying to reference a page item from a different pages after the cache for that page has been cleared.
Application items are for data that is longer-lived and/or is intended to be accessed by multiple pages. Application Items are not cleared unless a session end or a specific call to clear them is made.
Preferences are for data that is intended to be stored and retrieved for specific users across multiple sessions. Log out of an app and back in and the data is still available.
That said, from your description of the problem, I would guess that the cache on page 103 was cleared and the page item values erased. I suspect that you should be using an application item from what you have posted. -

i am using badi 'ME_REQ_POSTED ' for some requirement but i need to capture the doc no posted in this badi and store it in a variable and use it for further processing in a bdc , can anybody help me out for this , i am new to abap objects .

How to pass values from one stage to other
I have two stage (say primary and secondary).The primary stage creates the secondary stage. When the secondary is opened i can access all the members(say bitNo) of 1st stage and try to set some value. But in the 1st stage i find the value not being set. I think it's because 1st is executed before the 2nd. I used showAndWait() in 1st then show() on 2nd then it is throwing exception.
So i want to use the values set by the 2nd stage in the 1st stage.
How do i synchronize them ?

I have one entry jsp+htmlb iView and two other BW iViews( URL based). The entries made in one iView serves as the input for the other two iViews to generate BW reports.
I know we should use EPCM event API but how do I dynamically change the URL (with application parameters) in the other two iViews?

I am new to ABAP dynpro, I am working on one sample program. I have created 2 views, in 1st view I have 2 input fields and go button. In second view, 1 input field and 'back button'. I want to enter 2 numbers in 1st view and multiply it and display it in 2nd view.

You can use the same method to pass values from main report to a subreport.
1) Create a formula @mainFormula in the main report, as given in item 1 of link.
2) Place this formulla in a suppressed report footer section above the target subreport.
3) In the subreport, create a formula @subFormula that declares the same variable name, as given in item 3 of link.
4) Place @subFormula column in the subreport where you want to display it. -
Passing Value from Crystal Report (special function) to Business View parameter

Í have a scenario where i need to pass value from Crystal Report to a Business view's parameter.
Eg : CurrentCEUsername (func in crystal report)-- gives login user which i should pass to parameter in a Business view (used in the same report).

In Data Foundation, below query is used..
select Acc_Number, Account_Group,User_id from Accounts where user_id={?User_id}
where in {?User_id} is the BV parameter...
The Filter was a solution. But it takes long time to Query all the data from DB and then filter at BV level.
How do i pass the CurrentCEUsername to {?User_id}
Value should ve CurrentCEusername always. so that query will be

It will restrict the data pulled from DB to BV .. right? -

I am Automating STATSPACK reporting by modifying the sprepins.sql script.
Using DBMS_JOB I take the snap of the database and at the end of the day the cron job creates the statspack report and emails it to me.
I am storing the snapshot ids in the database and when running the report picking up the recent ids(begin snap and end snap).
From the sprepins.sql script

You set a :global_your_name_here to a value and that value is available in your entire application. See the help file section on the global namespace for more information.
Forms parameters are parameters that you form picks up from the outside when it starts. The calling entity must supply them in the URL or they will be set to null. You set them up in the object navigator in the Parameters node. -

I am trying to pass values from a pop up window to the main window that popped this child window , with the idea to have the parent window refresh itself with value from pop up window.But the values are not going through.I do a request on the hidden variable but when the parent
jsp refreshes , the variable is still null...
