Password protected picture

I recently came across some pictures that i had password protected & backed up years ago in os 9.2.2
unfortunately, i no longer have access to a computer that is running os 9.
does anyone know of a way in 10.4.8 that i can get somewhere that will allow me to unlock them again?
(i remember the password, but i just don't know where i can put it in)
thanks in advance.

Hi, Martin. Welcome to the Discussions.
One or more of these apps may help.
When looking for new applications, I recommend searching MacUpdate or Version Tracker. The user-submitted reviews accompanying the listings can be helpful in sorting the wheat from the chaff.
Good luck!

  • My suggestions:: 001 - Password Protected Pictures Folder

since the iPhone is a device that everybody seems to want to touch... it follows that it would be nice to be able to have a secured folder within the Pictures folder that is passowrd protected so I can move pictures there that I dont want just anyone looking at... (i.e. (for the sickos out there... pictures of things I may be planning on getting for christmas for wife and kids... etc.)
right now it is wide-open, for anyone that doesn't understand that a phone is something personal, to see... gosh!!!

  • How can I password protect a picture file?

Is ther anyway to password protect picture files?

Not in PSE itself, sorry. The closest (not very close) you can get is to use a hidden tag on it to make it less visible in the organizer, but there are not photo security features in PSE.

  • Is there a way to create a password protected folder for pictures or lock the photos app? For Ipad Air and Iphone 5s.

Is there a way to create a password protected folder for pictures or lock the photos app? I want to do this for Ipad air and Iphone 5s. I have other family members that use my Ipad and Iphone and do not want some pictures to be able to be viewed.
    Thanks

Use 3rd party apps like Photo Manager Pro.

  • Password Protect Folders/Pictures

I have a motorola xoom and a razr maxx and have not been able to find any information or how to's on the following:
Can you password protect certain folders or apps?  I have a five year old son and he frequently plays games and apps on my phone and tab, but I don't want him to access certain apps or files.  So I moved them into a folder on the home screen, but can't find a way to lock the folder.  Does anyone know how to lock the folders (password protect) or apps?
I also have pictures that I would like to move from the camera/gallery and hide the pictures, but can't seem to do this to photos that are already in the gallery?

As demmo86rt stated, a third party app from the Play Store will accomplish this - ES File Explorer allows you to "hide" folders, and move things to and from an SD Card more easily than the built in file system; other file manager apps may allow passwording and other options.  Explore the Play Store, read reviews, try the apps to see what works for you.

  • Password protection/ disabling picture downloading

I am constructing a website fro my photography business and I would like to offer my clients online proofs in the form of password protected album pages. I understand from a previous post that I can create an external password protected site on iweb and link it to my overall website. As far as password protection goes, can I assign specific passwords to specific people or would I have to create multiple external websites to have multiple client passwords?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What I think would work would be to create a site for each customer and then password protect that site with the customer's name and some password. The individual sites can be linked to from your primary site with text links and/or a photo that is linked to the customers page/site.
As far as using multiple sites and keeping them manageable I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites which I use as "pages" in my primary site. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

  • How can I set up SMB file sharing to share my PC external hard drive on my Mac with no password protection?

I am having the worst trouble with two things. I am very aware how to get the server to show up via SMB, but every time I log off the Macbook, the server's disappear. OK, so I went into "System Preferences" and hit "Users and Accounts" and added the server as a log in item. Worked well, except how do I stop that password prompt from coming up? I am using a Guest account with no password but I continue to get the password prompt. There is nowhere to hit remember password or anything. I have the option to remember the password in the keychain but I have no way of preventing the pop up.
Another issue I'm having is I have a Canon Pixma MP620 printer connected to my PC through USB. Three other PC's can connect wirelessly to print through the home network. My Mac does not find the printer, and when I manually add it, it recognizes it but WILL NOT print. It comes up with error messages like Authentican Required and connection issues between printers.
I have no password protection on my PC and have enabled sharing of all devices and folders through the Homegroup on the PC. I just can't figure it out. I am new to Mac and would love to get these two things figured out.
    Thanks in advance for reading!

Hi Bengt, Thanks for your input, much appreciated.
I have a WD 1TIG hard drive and are using usb connection, is it possible to use fire wire with these? I have had trouble with a lot of the videos I Imported, once they downloaded the file in the viewer window showed up blank and when I mouse over them it places a picture of another file in the window and wont drag and drop into the movie window, like their corrupted or something? Had to delete just about all of them and start again. Also is it possible to select a bunch of videos in the viewer window as to change the dates to the correct dates? All I have been able to do is "select all" which is no help.

  • How can I password protect specific files?

I have teens using my Mac and sending inappropriate photos, etc., over the internet. I'm trying to save some of the things they've mistakenly left behind on my computer to use as proof of what they're doing. Right now all I get are denials. I don't want them to have access to what I've saved, especially since I have one boy, one girl and I don't want them to see one anothers pictures. Can I set up a file, either in documents or on my desktop that I can password protect?

That would a question for a Mac support forum.

  • Password protected files do not preview.

    Can someone help me?
When I upload a password protected file with restrictions on printing and editing it does not preview the file. I have not set any password for viewing or opening the file. I want to share the document but not allow for people to download it i.e. just for online viewing.
I do understand that download of the document is inevitable for a person that has some basic level of computer literacy but still want to get that done.
Is what I am trying to accomplish possible?
    Regards.
Edit: I am referring to Acrobat.com document management and sharing.

    Hi
I am having the same problem, the image does not appear in the main preview box, it is shown in the sidebar window but you cannot drag it into the main window, I have tried tiff and jpg but to not avail, the only way I can import into main window is converting the picture into eps (but it then automatically converts to a PDF format before importing), I am running 10.6.2, any ideas

  • Password protect some pages in an iweb site

Just wondering if it is possible to password protect certain pages in an iweb site....
I have a phtography site that i use for more professional pictures, however I wanted to upload personal pictures and only have certain people be able to access the pictures on certain pages?
does anyone know if this can be done?
for example and person who visits my site may see all my work on photo page 1 and 2, however only restricted persons can access pages 3?
if anyone has any insight, it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

You can only password protect a site. So you can add another site, move the pages you want to it and password protect it. Then add a text based link to the second site.
An alternative could be to create an iPhoto Web gallery that's password protected and link to it from your site and have it open in an new window so it's easy to get back to your original site.

  • Password Protecting Personal File Sharing

    Hi,
I can't find an option to password-protect the Personal File Sharing in System Preferences - and if I click Network in Finder, I can see my Mac (local server) and am able to access any folder, app or whatever. Can people on other macs who joined my network do this? The firewall for PFS is turned on.
    Thanks guys.

You're not really turning PFS off. Didn't mean to give you that impression, sorry.
Sharepoints lets you specify which folders you ARE sharing, and password-protects them.
Just download it and see. A picture/demo is worth 1,000 words.
    This is donationware software.
Like it? pay the guy something.
Don't like it? Don't use it.
Don't want to donate a few shekels? Then don't. (cheapskate that's a wink, since I'm just joking with you there.
I am not affiliated with Sharepoints in any way.

I have no idea what I plugged in for the password and now can't view this protected stuff. I feel pretty dumb. I've tried a reboot, reinstalled the firmware but nothing's worked. Am I doomed to a reformat?

  • IPod Touch Frozen and password protected

I charged it just last night on a wall outlet extension, unplugged it and it is stuck on the iTunes connection with the USB cord picture. I tried restarting it, that doesn't do a thing, and I can not restore it or connect it to iTunes because of the password protection.

Okay...have you tried a reset of the iPod?
You may need to reset. Note: Only reset your iPhone or iPod touch if it is no longer responding.
    To reset
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Password protect photos

Is there a way to protect selected photo files with a password?

TD - You seem to have an extraordinary hostility in your Discussions with repeated efforts to insult others; maybe some counciling would be of benefit. I'm here to Discuss problems, kinks, bugs, issues and to seek SOLUTIONS.
But, to reply anyhow: Re: Was I  suggesting that iPhoto Buddy is unaware of the numbering of iPhoto versions?
No. I was responding to the superfluous,
issue you brought up suggesting that the product was not compatible with the current version of IPhoto and/or OS 10.7.3.
I don't know where you got that idea -- not from anything I posted.
And I, oibviously (D'uh!) was going to use it, had started to use it.
But you raised that issue and you were wrong in that needless suggestion, taking the topic unnecessarily
down a dead-end street of your own imagination; not reality.
Think about that. It would be, is easy enough to have downloaded the free product and see
if it works or not -- but you start with disparagement and ill-will.
Thus, to responding to that false, uncalled for, useless and worthless tangent --- I was suggesting that maybe YOU were unaware of the numbering of iPhoto versions.
Or you picked up wrong info -- or you hadn't had hands on experience with the free program which would show it obviously worked.
After responding to that unnecessary dispersion we get to the actual feature of Password protection. You noticed it works.
You then notice there was a way around it. Hilarious!
Hard to believe you left your 'secret' pictures folder in the Pictures folder.
My 'secret photo library' (of my old, previous Fat Pics) is hidden deep away in the bowels of the Finder with a deceptive name (i.e., not called "Embaressing Fat Pics). This has to be done when first setting up the Library.
And I'll be sure not to tell you where it is.
And try to keep a civil tongue in your mouth.
If you want to engange in pre-teen forum hostility, maybe get into gaming. But if you want to help others solve problems, maybe adjust your attitude.

  • Password protect photo's on Mac Air

Can i password protect all my photo's on my Air so that in order to view iphoto, a password has to be entered?
    Thank you,

Not directly. Remember, your computer's account itself is passworded and you can use System Preferences > Security to set a password on sleep and screen saver which will require a password to wake up the computer or stop the screen saver. If that doesn't suffice then your other option is to place your picture library in an encrypted disk image using Disk Utility. After doing this you'll have to delete the original iPhoto library and then always remember to mount the disk image before starting iPhoto. (Which is something of a pain.) The first option should suffice.
