Pasted Artwork Won't Remain

I'm pasting artwork into a track in iTunes 10.2.1, it shows up fine in the artwork window, but when I close the window and reopen it, the artwork is no longer installed. I have thousands of tracks in iTunes, and have only occasionally run into this problem - very frustrating.
What can I do to get the artwork to stay pasted into the track?

First you need to open song info copy from or paste to the artwork box. It won't work with right click, you need to use the short cuts "cmd C" for copy and "cmd V' for paste.

Can't Paste Artwork in iTunes

Ever since I upgraded a month-and-a-half ago (both iTunes and Mavericks), I cannot paste artwork into iTunes files (movies/TV/Music). Everything else works fine, but once I copy a picture into the file it simply doesn't "take". If you reopen the file (Get Info) the artwork tab is blank. Any thoughts?

It is a bug in the new iTunes release.
Paste has problems, but either of the following will work.
(1) Drag-n-drop (rather than copy/paste) the artwork into the box.
Or (2) save the artwork as a file. On the artwork tab, use the Add button and point it to the saved file.

Some album artwork won't display on iPod Classic

I've had a strange problem recently with my new iPod Classic(and, come to think of it, my 2nd gen. iPod Nano): certain album artwork won't properly display, but will instead show up as a black square(like the 5th Metallica album, or the Spinal Tap album...). Sometimes, this happens only with certain songs on an album. For instance, I purchased 2 songs from the album "Employment" by Kaiser Chiefs last year. Recently, I purchased the CD, and I imported it to my computer. I chose "get album artwork" so the album cover would display for the newly imported songs, as well as the 2 I already bought. Now, the 2 songs I bought last year display their artwork normally, but the newly imported tracks just display the black square.
What's going on, and how can I fix it?

in iTunes, choose to not *display Album Artwork on your iPod*, then sync your iPod, then change it back to display album artwork and sync again. I believe that will fix it.

Some album artwork won't display on iPad

Hi guys,
Some of the song's album artwork won't display on my iPad or iPhone but shows up against each song in the album on iTunes on my Mac. There are entire albums' artwork not showing, yet when I open and play the same song in iTunes on my mac, it's there.
Any ideas?

in iTunes, choose to not *display Album Artwork on your iPod*, then sync your iPod, then change it back to display album artwork and sync again. I believe that will fix it.

ITunes Artwork - can no longer copy and paste artwork

ITUNES COPY AND PASTE ARTWORK PROBLEM

Ive had a problem ever since I downloaded the newest itunes update and want to see if anyone else is having this issue. I hope I can explain this accurately.
When you have the album artwork displayed on the bottom left hand of the itunes screen. I used to be able to double click on the artwork and copy that album cover art and paste it onto another track. Ever since Ive updated itunes a couple weeks ago, the double clicking is no longer working. When I doubleclick, it just doesnt work and doesnt give me the option to cut or copy anymore. So now I have no ability to cut/copy and paste artwork from one album to another. I used to always do t his routinely without a problem. Is anyone else having this issue or have an idea what is going on? Did a setting accidentally change?
Im talking about the album artwork on the bottom left of the screen. Double clicking it no longer works- doesnt give me any options. (The music is not purchased from itunes so I often manually update the artwork)

Copy from the artwork panel (and image selection between multiple artwork) is broken on this build. You can still copy art from the artwork tab in Get Info.

Album artwork won't display on iPod?

I have been struggling with this problem for awhile now -- any help would be appreciated!
When I have my iPod plugged into my computer, I can see all of the album artwork that is set for my music on my iPod through iTunes. However, when my iPod is playing on its own, none of the album artwork will display. I have "display album artwork" set in the options. I have tried unchecking this option, ejecting the iPod from the computer, reconnecting the iPod, then rechecking the option, but this hasn't worked. Any ideas how I can fix this?

I believe this may have to do with how you are assigning the artwork to the albums. It seems like you have to assign the album art to every song in the album in order for it to show correctly on your ipod. For example, if you have a song playing in iTunes and you paste the artwork in the "paste artwork here" in the lower left corner; that is only updating the current song (even if you select multiple).
I have found the easiest thing to do is as follows (windows):
Highlight all the songs in an album. Right click-->Get Album Artwork. Pray that works. If iTunes can't find the artwork then plan B:
1) go to Amazon.com or or google images and find an image and the copy (just right click-->copy).
2) select all songs for an album-->right-click-->Get Info-->Check "Artwork", right-click-->paste

Thanks for the reply. I used to copy the image from FireFox "Copy Image" or copy the image from Photoshop and just paste into the "Artwork" box in "Multiple Item Information". It always OK but now it just appear the tick only and blank in the box.
One time I tried copy image from ACDSee, it worked!!! It can paste from ACDSee!!!
I'll try "drag & drop" the image into the artwork box when I get home tonight, where I work is using MAC, can't test here.

I just want to copy and paste artwork in my music files that I have modified. The Shift, right click on the file, and Get Info doesn't work with iTunes 12.
Does anyone know a work around for this?

I always advise my Contribute clients to "scrub" any Microsoft text before pasting it. You might be able to do this by changing the doc to .txt? Hopefully that would get rid of the layout code embedded in a doc or docx document.
However, since I don't trust anything Microsoft seems to have excess code attached, I first put it into Text Edit on my Mac and save it. Not sure what the equivalent program is on Windows. I think an email program could work just as well, Twigman. You might ask your tech how to save the MS doc so it has no code, like pure ascii text. That way, they will not have to leave Word to scrub the old code out.

Embedded Art Shows Fine - "Get Album Artwork" Won't Transfer

I have a MacBook Pro with OS 10.4.11, and iPod Classic v1.1.1, and I'm having a problem:
Any artwork that I retrieved using iTunes' "Get Album Artwork" option DOES NOT show up on my iPod. All the artwork I manually retrieved from Google (copy & pasted) shows fine.
I'm told that copying and pasting artwork embeds the image file right into the mp3 file itself. The artwork that iTunes retrieves is NOT stored in each mp3 file, but rather in its own separate database. Somehow that database doesn't seem to be transferring to the iPod.
Anyone else having this problem? Any way to let Apple know directly?

To find all the tracks without embedded artwork so that you can update them you can try http://www.stum.de/itunes-find-tracks-without-artwork/ for Windows or http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/scripts13.php for Macs. Use Google, Amazon, Discogs etc. to locate relevant jpeg images. Ideally these should be square, 320x320 pixels or above and borderless to give the best results in the various menus. If you have artwork for some tracks of an album, but not others, select a track with artwork, right-click (Option-Click for Macs) on the art & click copy, then select all the tracks of the abum, use CTRL-I or Option-I to *Get Info* and then paste the image into the artwork box. This should also let you embed iTMS downloaded artwork.
I don't know how well these tools work with a manually-managed iPod since I maintain my full library on an external drive & sync from that.

Artwork won't paste

I am having trouble posting artwork for cd's I have downloaded from my collection. It has been working fine and I know how to post artwork. Suddenly it is not working. The only change I have made is that I added an external hard drive and moved all files there then deleted off my main C drive. Everything is working perfectly from this transition except artwork. They are probably not related, but could the nwe hard drive have anything to do with this? What can I do to fix this?

Ah, OK. That sounds like the classic Windows permissions problem . It's much easier to fix in Vista and Win 7. On XP home, it often takes restarting into safe mode to set the permissions correctly.
The quickest thing to try (before safe mode boot) is simply right-clicking on the exHD top-level music folder, and making sure the read-only box is NOT checked. Another thing would be to cilck the file sharing box for that folder and allow everyone.
After changing permissions, relaunch itunes so it will read the new settings and see if you can edit.

Getting rid of copied and pasted artwork

Yesterday my copy of the new Pearl Jam album arrived and included in the package was 2 free concerts to download, which I have done. All installed OK and I have managed to get them showing in my iTunes library.
Now, not being proper releases there was no iTunes artwork for the albums however PJ did release both shows as official bootlegs a few years ago so there is artwork out there which I found using Google images. I promptly copied and pasted the artwork into iTunes.
Only on one of them I mistakenly pasted the wrong artwork and now I can't get rid of it. "Clear downloaded album artwork" doesn't work. Now I have made this mistake many times with CD's I have copied and solved the problem by deleting the songs from the library and deleting the files altogether and re-copying but in this case I can't delete the files as I won't get them back again (being one-time free downloads). I have deleted the tracks from the iTunes library and re-added the files but the artwork re-appears again as if it has somehow welded itself to the files. Does anyone know how I can get rid of it so I can get the correct artwork on there?

Artwork won't show

My nano won't show artwork like it's suppossed to. I tried the whole, "check and uncheck display album artwork on your iPod" under preferences. Then I get an error message as follows: The iPod cannot be updated. An unknown error occured (-50).
What should I do?

I'm having the same problem with album artwork not dragging.
-tried dragging with all tracks selected.
-tried dragging individually.
-tried going to GET INFO and drag to the mini picture placeholder, for all tracks and individual tracks.
-tried dragging to the Artwork tab within GET INFO.
I've made sure that SELECTED SONG is showing, and not NOW PLAYING.
The songs I'm trying to update are not playing while I try updating.
Can anyone think of anything else?

I can no longer copy/paste artwork after v10.5.1

The bulk of my library are teaching cd's from the same author. For most iTunes cannot find any info so I have been able to copy/paste the album artwork. Suddenly in v 10.5.1 I can no longer copy artwork.

I have discovered a work around.
Select an album that does have artwork you want to copy.
Drill down to the track level and select a track.
File > Get Info and select the 'Artwork' tab.
Select the artwork and Command-c to copy.
Now back to the iTunes grid display and select an album and right-click in the artwork viewer and paste.
