Patch 5726010 adcrtbsp.sql script during up-grade to R12

Dear All,
Oracle EBS 11.5.9 with Windows 2003
as a R-12 upgrade process i have downloaded patch 5726010 and executed @adgncons.sql apps apps scripts.
its created adcrtbsp.sql for creation of consolidated tablespace model and increases tablespaces which are below in minimum size.
adcrtbsp.sql script is like
CREATE TABLESPACE
APPS_TS_TX_DATA
DATAFILE '?/dbf/transaction_table.dbf'
SIZE 1000 M REUSE
EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL UNIFORM SIZE 128 K
SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT AUTO ;
ALTER TABLESPACE
APPS_TS_TX_DATA
add DATAFILE
*'?/dbf/transaction_table_2.dbf'*
SIZE 1000 M;
My current table spaces paths are.
e:\oracle\proddata\datafile_name
My question is how i pass paths in above script adcrtbsp.sql for
DATAFILE '?/dbf/transaction_table.dbf'
Please advise, i have confusion.
Regards,

You need to manually edit the SQL file with the path of your datafiles.
**Added**
Okay, something like this
DATAFILE 'e:\oracle\proddata\transaction_table.dbf'Edited by: Bobcatalog on Jan 28, 2009 3:13 PM

  • Running a SQL Script during task sequence

    We are about to roll out new workstations to our entire enterprise.  With that rollout comes updated software.  The primary application that our end users work with on a daily basis uses SQL Express 2008 R2.  A challenge that we've come across
    is with a SQL script that we need to run, after the workstation has joined our domain.  I have created a batch file, and copied it to the same directory as the AddADGroup.sql script.  I have created an application in SCCM to run the batch file and
    SQL script.  The following is the batch file:
    @echo off
    Set Path=%path%;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn
    echo.
    SQLCMD -S .\SQLEXPRESS -U sausername -P xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -i AddADGroup.sql
    echo.
    What I need to know is how to get this batch file to run, and be successful (about 4000 times).  Is running this batch file the best practice?  If not, what is the alternative?
    Thanks! Nate

  • Getting windows error during running the sql scripts from form 6i

    I made a little form application. The purpose of this application is to generate explain plan for a particular SQL. Some sql scripts run internally in order to populate the result on form’s screen after pressing the form’s button but I am getting windows error during running the sql scripts from form 6i.
    I am using forms 6i with patch 17 with Oracle 10G database on windows 2000 professional on same computer.
    This application runs fine with 8i.
    Please inform me where the problem is and how to overcome it.

  • SQL Script in XE Cancels during Execution without returning any error(s)

    Hi all;
    I'm running a SQL script with a drop table and create table statement along with several hundred insert statements to load data into this table in a Oracle 10g XE database. There's a total of 213 SQL command lines in the script. (1 Drop Tbl/1 Create Tbl/211 Insert(s)).
    I run the script within the Script Editor in the Oracle XE web interface and it processes 45 of 213 of the SQL commands in the script successfully(1 Drop Tbl/1 Create Tbl/43 Insert(s)). Then the Manage Script Results screen shows a status of "Canceled". It doesn't even attempt to insert the other rows and spit back any error messages. I tried debugging by checking the consistency of the insert statements at the break point and couldn't find any discrepancy. The script just stops executing and shows this cancelled status? Can anyone help me figure out why all the lines of this script aren't being executed? I'd appreciate it a lot!
    Thanks.

    I've spooled output to a file which I've pasted below in italic pre-tags. I abbreviated some of output to save space in this thread. I didn't want to include 600 rows showing "1 row created" 211 times with 3 spaces between each of them. So here is my abbreviated output:

    The last select statement above results in continuous spitting out of column headings with no data. I've truncated it here to save space. When I go through the Oracle Database XE web front end I see that the table was created; however it says "This table has no data". So still no luck. Hope you can help. Thanks.

  • SQL exception during creation of a physical standby database with EM

    Version: EM Oracle 10.2.5 (agents running, repository running, primary db running, all targets visible and reachable with EM)
    I try to create a physical standby database with the enterprise manager and each time the process is aborted with a SQL exception during the preparation of the job by the EM. I have added a part of the OMs log containing the error at the end of the excerpt.

    Has anyone an idea why the job cannot be prepared? Thanks in advance for investigation :-)

  • Clearing sequences, running sql script

    Hi,
    I'm using OWB 10.1.0.4.0 and I use a sequence to create a surrogate key in my tables. For the tabels that are deleted during the proces I want these sequences set to 1 again.
    Is there a possibility to run a sql script in a mapping or in the proces flow (with a drop, create, grant statement for the sequence) ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Arjan

    Thx, I'll try that on monday. If I'm correct I can import a .sql in a custom procedure?
    I'll update the thread on monday.

  • How to accept user inputs from  sql script

    I want to create Tablespace useing sql script , but the location of the data file I need accept from user . (to get the location of the data file ) .
    How can I accept user input from pl/sql .
    Example :
      CREATE TABLESPACE  TSPACE_INDIA LOGGING
         DATAFILE 'H:\ORACLE_DATA\FRSDB\TSPACE_INDI_D1_01.dbf'
         SIZE 500M  AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT  1280K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
         EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL;here I need to accept location of the datafile from user ie : 'H:\ORACLE_DATA\FRSDB\TSPACE_INDI_D1_01.dbf'

    Hi,
    Whenenever you write dynamic SQL, put the SQL text into a variable. During development, display the variable instead of executing it. If it looks okay, then you can try executing it in addition to displaying it. When you're finished testing, then you can comment out or delete the display.
    For example:
    SET     SERVEROUTPUT     ON
    DECLARE
        flocation     VARCHAR2 (300);
        sql_txt     VARCHAR2 (1000);
    BEGIN
        SELECT  '&Enter_The_Path'
        INTO    flocation
        FROM    dual;
        sql_txt :=  'CREATE TABLESPACE SRC_TSPACE_INDIA LOGGING
         DATAFILE' || flocation || ' "\SRC_TSPACE_INDI_D1_01.dbf" ' || '
         SIZE 500M  AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT  1280K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
         EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL ';
        dbms_output.put_line (sql_txt || ' = sql_txt');
    --  EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_txt;
    END;
    /When you run it, you'll see something like this:
    Enter value for enter_the_path: c:\d\fubar
    old   5:     SELECT  '&Enter_The_Path'
    new   5:     SELECT  'c:\d\fubar'
    CREATE TABLESPACE SRC_TSPACE_INDIA LOGGING
         DATAFILEc:\d\fubar
    "\SRC_TSPACE_INDI_D1_01.dbf"
         SIZE 500M  AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT  1280K MAXSIZE
    UNLIMITED
         EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL  = sql_txt
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.This makes it easy to see that you're missing a space after the keyword DATAFILE. There are other errrors, too. For example, the path name has to be inside the quotes with the file name, without a line-feed between them, and the quotes should be single-quotes, not double-quotes.
    Is there some reason why you're using PL/SQL? In SQL, you can just say:
    CREATE TABLESPACE SRC_TSPACE_INDIA LOGGING
    DATAFILE  '&Enter_The_Path\SRC_TSPACE_INDI_D1_01.dbf'
    SIZE 500M  AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT  1280K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
    EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL;though I would use an ACCEPT command to given a better prompt.
    Given that you want to use PL/SQL, you could assign the value above to sql_txt. If you need a separate PL/SQL variable for flocation, then you can assign it without using dual, for example:
    DECLARE
        flocation     VARCHAR2 (300)     := '&Enter_The_Path';The dual table isn't needed very much in PL/SQL.

  • Inserting sql scripts in Oracle Warehouse Builder 10g

    Dear all,
    Can anyone please tell me if we can use a process flow to insert scripts in OWB 10g..
    If so, how can i do it??
    I am having a problem to insert sql scripts in OWB 10g r2.
    Infact, i have to write a script and insert it in OWB to populate data from a souce table to a target table.
    I have checked the script in sqlplus and it's working correctly (update being done).
    The problem is that how do i insert the script in OWB?? Can i use a process flow other than OMB PLUS??
    Please help me!!!
    Regards,
    Amrish

    Dear all,
    I have inserted the following script in the sqlplus activity in my process flow.
    INSERT INTO BMADW.TARGET_SALGRADE (GRADE, LOSAL, HISAL) SELECT GRADE, LOSAL, HISAL FROM SCOTT.SALGRADE;
    COMMIT;
    EXIT
    When i run the script in sql*plus, it does the insert and the commit part successfully. I have to press 'ENTER' for SQL*PLUS to exit.
    If i have to end the script, is the word 'EXIT' the right command to use??
    My process flow is deploying successfully but when starting it, still no 'INSERT' has been done. It's taking too much time to run (without giving any error).
    Please help me !!!
    Regards,
    Amrish

  • Execute SQL scripts in Oracle DB

    Hi ,
    Can someone give stepbystep flow to execute sql scripts(patches) in oracle db on unix server.

    SQL scripts and patches are generally two completely different things.
    Assuming you are referring to patches that you download from My Oracle Support (MOS), each patch and patchset comes with a README. That README has specific instructions for installing that particular patch in whatever version of Oracle you have running on whatever operating system you have with whatever database options you have in use. It wouldn't make sense to try to summarize that document here-- we would undoubtedly leave something out that may be important to you and there may be patch-specific instructions.

  • Standard Sql scripting Vs CE built-in functions ? Which one should I need to choose?

    Hello,
    My source is csv files and I need to load these source files into HANA after doing some Transformations based on multiple validations (for example , based on grade, some new column has to be populated with some relevant hikes i.e. need to use if/else logic, case logic, either insert or update in target table …etc. This validation should be done for each and every row).
    Assume some of the validations not possible through BODS and I need to implement this logic in HANA scripting (through procedures).
    I know HANA supports two kinds of writing scripts i.e. HANA standard sql statements and CE_functions and I’ve heard from HANA documentation that CE functions gives more performance than standard sql statements and we should not mix together in a single block of code.
    Please let me know which scenario should I go for?  (I doubt if we can do all the functionalities using CE functions?
    I am looking forward to your reply.
    Thanks,
    Sree

    Much awaited reply.
    Thanks a lot Jain !
    But just one more point to bring out, if some of requirements can be done through both CE functions and Scripting,  and some are possible through only scripting then we need to go for sql scripting only ..as we are not supposed to bring both the coding standards together, results in performance issues. ( Even your diagram shows either CE functions or Use SQL)
    am i right?
    Thanks,
    Sree

  • AWM 11.1.0.7B question running global_11g_create_cubes.sql script

    Hi everybody,
    I installed AWM 11.1.0.7B and Oracle Database 11g software, version 11.1.0.6.0.
    I am trying to install Sample Schemas & Code.
    I got an error running global_11g_create_cubes.sql script that I downloaded from the http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/olap/olap_downloads.html#software
    Here is an error:

    The following line in the script gives an error:

    Any help will be greatly appretiated.
    Thank you.

    I suspect the problem is that you are using an 11.1.0.7 client to access an 11.1.0.6 server. This configuration should work, but there was a bug at some point with new clients and old servers. In any case you would be advised to upgrade your server to either 11.1.0.7 or, at least, the latest 11.1.0.6 OLAP patch.

  • Problem saving SQL Scripts

    Has anyone has this problem:
    1) I log onto my database (Oracle XE 10.2.0).
    2) I open a SQL Script that I previously created and saved. The script is about 1700 bytes.
    3) I edit the script. I run the script. I click "Edit Script" button on results screen.
    4) Everything is fine.
    5) I repeat these steps (1-4) 10 or 20 times and then all of a sudden all edits to my script stop saving.
    A) When I run the script without explicitly saving the script, it runs the unedited version of the script.
    B) When I explicitly save the script, the edits do not save.
    C) If I log off the database and back on again, the effects are the same (beginning here with "5)" from the get-go).
    D) I I log off the database, shut down IE 7.0, reboot IE, log back on to the database I begin here at "5)" again.
    E) I mark all my script and copy it to clipboard. I replace script with 3 bytes: "aaa". I click "Save". The three bytes save.
    F) I replace the 3 bytes with my original 1700 bytes of code. The 1700 bytes do not save; only the three bytes remain.
    6) In summary, I would ask, "Is there a size limit to the amount of SQL script you can save using this application?". However, the problem with this question is that everything worked fine for me for one and one-half hours of using the app.
    I will go now to reboot my machine to see if that resolves it.
    I will report back here with the results of that experiment.
    Anybody has any insight, I would be grateful 'cause this is frustrating!!
    Thank you,
    Mike Kemp
    St. Petersburg, FL

    OK problem started right off the bat today.
    But then again the computer had been up and running overnight, multiple users during that time, etc.
    So I rebooted.
    Script is up to 2120 bytes now.
    Problem was not resoved by reboot.
    No matter what I do I can't edit my script and have it save (I edit it, copy and paste to Notepad and move back and forth as needed ... however problem is that when I click "Run" it never recognizes the new script; it always runs the old one).
    Let me take my 2120-byte script and paste it into a brand-new Script Editor window and see if it will run from there (thinking that maybe this Apex thing just can't run long scripts at all)....
    OK that works!!
    Hmmmm...so looks to me like Apex Script Editor can't edit long scripts (I started running into problems when my script exceeded 1700 bytes).
    I'll keep posting back here in case somebody big in Oracle Apex World (I just heard Tom Kyte talking about the guy who created Apex ... can't remember his name now) cares.
    I know, I know they'll probably tell me it's user error :-)

  • How to move SQL scripts using HANA ALM ?

    I see  clear documentation of moving the content easily from Dev to test and to production using DU which exports only content. Similarly can we use the transport management/ALM for moving sql scripts, for example table creation scripts or table structures that needs to be moved from Dev to QA ?
    Thanks
    Suresh

    Sutirtha,
    Thank you very much. I really appreciate all of your responses.
    I have one more question ( Sorry for flooding you with lot of questions :) )
    How to capture the errors which occured inside the SQL Scripts.
    My scenario is like this. I have two sql scripts Script_1.sql and Script2.sql namely. I would like to put dependency on the execution of the scripts.
    If Script_1.sql executes succesfully without any errors, then EXECUTE Script_2.sql
    else if Script_1.sql execution contains errors then DON'T EXECUTE Script_2.sql
    As of now, i observed that the Process flow shows Success State even if there is an error in the sql script execution. Because of which i was not able to put dependency on the execution of the scripts.
    I think i can do it by tweaking(changing) the code inside the SQL Scripts, like logging the errors in some log table and reading it before the next script execution.
    But the restriction is, I Should not touch/change the existing SQL Scripts.
    Do we have any mechanism in the ProcessFlows to identify the SQL Errors that occurred during execution of SQL Scripts ?
    Please suggest any idea on this. It will be great if you can help in this.
    Thanks in advance,
    SriGP.
