Patch Management - Vulnerability Analysis Report

In BOE, under the Public folder, there's a predefined report for Patch Management called Vulnerability Analsysis. This report has several fields: Vulnerability, Criticality, Devices......etc. I'm looking for something that will explain this report. For example, what is the Devices field telling us? It looks to be some sort of status count, but none of the values in my report exceed the value of 3. Another example.....for the "MS 936929 Windows XP Service Pack 3" vulnerability, my report shows 3 for Devices, 938 patched, 46 not patched, 3 not applicable, 0 error, 46 detecting, and 76% patched. Again....I have no idea what the value 3 for Devices means?

  • Need a Vulnerability Severity Report for Patch Management

In the standalone version of patch management (v6.4) there was a dashboard feature on the server home page called Vulnerability Severity. It was a graphic chart that displayed the percentage of un-remediated applicable vulnerabilities vs applicable vulnerabilities grouped by vulnerability severity. This feature is not available in the BusinessObject Enterprise InfoView. It looks like the only way I have of getting this feature is to create a report, but I am not an expert at using InfoView. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on creating such a report?
The only predefined report that even comes close is the Vulnerability Analysis report, but it's hundreds of pages long. I need something on a single page, like a chart, showing the percentages grouped by vulnerability severity (critical, recommended, optional).

  • Patch Management - Reporting

Hello - I'm tasked with now managing our SCCM 2012 SP 1 environment.   I use SCOM primarily but I'm finding my way around SCCM.  My task is patch management and I have built-out ADR's (test group, local group, remote group) that I need to
after evaluation/deployment provide management reports on success failure in easy to read format.  Unfortunately, I'm not finding exactly what I need and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
I would like a report that gives me graphically for 1,2,3 and listing for #4.  I would like to capture all components whereas some of the reports I've been looking at request input of say critical or only MSFT patches etc...
    1) Number of computers in deployment (Say 50)
    2)  Number of computers compliant (Say 45)
    3)  Number of computers non-compliant (say 5)
    4)  Of those that are not compliant what are their machine names (ie machine XYZ)
I'm not a programmer so I'm hoping a built-in report will have this capability but just have found it.

    Hi,

  • Vulnerability/security patch management

I'm looking for the best way to manage SAP security patches and vulnerabilities. We have to do a monthly assessment of the newly released vulnerabilities from SAP and determine if they relate to our systems. I'm having a hard time finding a good place to get a list of recently released notes.
I found https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/security - click on Security Notes, but the list doesn't appear to list everything, and doesn't show what is new or updated from month to month. This creates a lot of manual work looking at each note every month.
Does anyone know of any tools that can help with this. I'm looking for something like what Microsoft does with it's monthly security updates, and ideally a tool like WSUS that can analyze the systems to determine if they require the patch or not.

    Hello Jeff,
Very good question! I have very often thought about this, and how I would like to have the information communicated to me without it being communicated to anyone else...
Specifically regarding the security notes page, I have observed that the notes are added to the list at the top. However, the release date of the note, an update to the version of the note, nor a related note does not bump it to the top again nor influence the specific order.
Certainly, the notes which are listed there are important ones (as indicated by Keerti)... or the principle is... some components are worth keeping an eye on, particularly if you use them or they are new.
Alone the fact that they are published for all OSS users and additionally on that (security) page, should be reason enough to think seriously about implementing it or considering it in your own developments... If you look at some of them, you might also see they are corrections which enable security controls, so regarding your patch management I can also recommend that you differentiate between your "program error patching cycle", and your "correction and activation instruction cycle". Of course, some notes are not intrusive on customers who do not require the correction or are oblivious to it.... so you can patch until the cows come home... it will not help you until you activate the new security feature or change your technique... User types are an example of this.
In some special cases, you need to have found the problem, before you are able to activate a solution for it. Sometimes you have to use the potentially problematic feature (setting up customizing or settings for it, and assigning authorizations to use it...) at which point the system will point things out to you. In other cases, the system will hassle you to change it for many reasons, not only the security reason.
It makes sense to restrict authorizations and settings to only that which you use. That helps a lot. See various threads here on transaction SU24 for some examples from the authorizations aspect of security.
Another tricky aspect is, once someone has a patch installed in their system or a security researcher has found a bug... should they make statements about it in the internet (followed by Smiley's :-)...? Often, a 90 day grace-period for admins is observed.
If you stick around here at SDN and read some of the posts here carefully, then you can also learn a lot in a relatively short space of time, on an ongoing sort of distributed space of time....
Reading the security wiki's and guides are also very helpfull of course.
Risk rating can also be tricky. You might find that if your security analysts are all security or authorization admins, then they might prefer to go for program corrections rather than role changes... or concept changes... Management might even resist changes, for fear of them, their costs, etc.
Regarding analyzing your systems, you might want to consider a "Security Optimization Service" session. You can also download this and maintain your own additional checks. That requires a small additional effort and cost. You can find more information on it by searching "OSS" and service.sap.com/security. In a 1 day or more detailed session if you want, you can cover many risks with a relatively low effort.
I have participated in two of these (we requested them) and it was helpfull. I also provided some feedback to SAP suggesting checks and some risks. My take on it is: If we contribute to improving standard solutions (and reporting bugs), then we all benefit from it "for free" in the standard products.
Last but not least, there is monitoring. You can learn a lot from the various monitoring possibilities (check your legal requirements for security there as well).
Some thoughts from me for your interesting question,
    Julius

  • Solaris Patch Manager gets status:302 behind Proxy

    Hi Colleagues,
I am trying to get Solaris Patch Manager on my Solaris 8 up and running.
But if I say "smpatch analyze", the smpatch just reports a "Response code was 302" I think this means something like: "temporary moved".
I think my problem is, that the proxy doesn't follow the moved object.
Can anybody tell me where I can manualy download the detectors.jar and patchdb.zip?

Any news on this posting? I'm trying to do the same thing, as I dont want to use a caching proxy to download patches, I just want to use
a local source to perform analysis, downloads, and updates.
    Cheers.

  • Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro updates for 11.0.10 being pushed out through SolarWinds Patch Manager are not being recognized as applicable.

I am trying to update our Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro to 11.0.10 using the default MSP packages with SolarWinds Patch Manager.  All of the systems keep reporting as 'NOT APPLICABLE'.  All of the workstations have Reader11.0.09, with about 10% still on 11.0.08 (due to the fact that the reader 11.0.09 package only patched about 2/3 of the systems).  All systems that have Acrobat Pro are 11.0.09.
In SolarWinds I am using the "Adobe Systems, Inc. Packages" node.
    Adobe Systems Acrobat 11 Catalog
    Adobe Systems Reader 11 Catalog
and the SW Patch Manager downloads the msp's straight from Adobe.
I have checked the msp's manually and they will update at least back to 11.0.07 in Reader, and 11.0.0 in Acrobat Pro. (I had an old stand alone system that still had Reader 11.0.07, and I did a new install of Pro and went straight to update 11.0.10)
The SolarWinds Tech said, "Okay. That content is produced by Adobe. Any questions concerning applicability logic or diagnosing why a package reports as NotApplicable when that's not expected would need to be directed to Adobe, as they are solely responsible for that content and its behavior".
I am new to SolarWinds Patch Manager, and any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you are attempting to use the SCUP catalogs outside of the MS solution.  I can almost guarantee you that Adobe didn't test it if it's not referenced in the ETK:  11   SCCM-SCUP — Enterprise Administration Guide
That being said there "should" be logging available in any deployment solution.   Since I am not familiar with Solar-Winds particular solution I can't say if it logs errors and how verbose those logs might be.    If you have logs then post the output and the forum members "might" be able to assist you.

  • SBO 2005 A PL 31 Annual Purchase analysis report missing result

My client runs on SBO2005A ( 6.80.319) SP 01 PL31. When running standard Annual Purchase Analysis report, all data is missing, any ideas which patch could resolve this. Can successfully run Annual Sales Analysis report

    Hi,
Welcome you post on the forum.
2005 version had out of support for such a long time. They need to upgrade to new version to fight the problem. Even 2007 version will be out of main stream support soon. Better ask them to 8.8 directly.
    Thanks,

as Application status,Problem distribution analysis, etc) for the same application(ABC). PFB snapshot for your reference.

    Hi,
Is there any error message when you run Application Failure Analysis report for the specific application?
Does this application have any failure alerts?
You may also look into operation manager even logs to check is there any errors or warnings.

    Thanks in Advance......!

    Hi Shankarappa,
The Analysis -> Reports shows a list of views. Hence, once you create a report you need to complete two mandatory steps.
    1. Create a View
    2. Assign Report

  • Sales analysis report- showing & totaling both Invoices & Credit memos on o

I have written a Several sales analysis reports based on INV1 tables and RIN1 tables, (Invoice lines and Credit memo lines) for SAP B1 using crystal. I would like the data from both the invoices & the credit memo to list & total on the same report. But have had no luck doing this.
    Is it possible?
How would I go about doing it?

Solved my problem, I used the "Show SQL Query" window on my existing reports copied and pasted them to SQL Management Studio as a View, used keyword Union All to join the two queries (Invoices and Credit memos)  and used the view as the data link to create a new report in Crystal Report writer.
This got me both of the data files into the report detail line and allow for summing.
    Problem solved.
    Thanks for the input.

  • FR and Web Analysis reports will not run in workspace

I have configured both FR and Web Analysis and then re-configured workspace to pick them up. 'Reporting and Analysis shows up in my foundation metadata under workspace. All my related ports are enabled.
Database connection manager, import financial reporting reports, preferences financial reporting, tools/link to web analysis, do not appear in workspace.
get 'required application context analyzer is missing. please contact your adminstrator.' error when try to run a web analysis or financial reporting report from workspace.
Web analysis as a client with reports is working fine.
Financial reporting allows me to create a database connection, create a report, pdf preview from the client but web preview breaks with generic page not found error.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Hi,
You can use panel while creating reports and put all the graphs on it .
    Panels color can be changed.

  • Interesting SCOM Reports and "Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 R2 Reports" MP Issue , Some reports appear others don't

Our test environment is quite simple one Operations Server 2012 R2; with the database and SSRS instance on another server; Service Manager 2012 is on it’s own virtual machine; and the Service Manager Data Warehouse on it’s own. I’ve been trying to demo chargeback
with scvmm and I’m having issues with the chargeback reporting.
I’ve followed this process to install chargeback reports:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj614406.aspx which
completed successfully. All of the cubes seem to process correctly in Service Manager and I can create a chargeback analysis excel sheet with no issues in service manager. I still do not get any chargeback reports in the Operations console though. I get some
reports under the “Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 R2 Reports” heading like Capacity, Host Group Forecasting, Host Utilization, etc but no chargeback report.
I can see the chargeback report in the SSRS website but cannot get it to appear in the Operations console. If anyone has any tips or troubleshooting they can point me at I would appreciate it.

  • Customer analysis report

    Hi guru,
Thanks for all the effort in answering my question on customer analysis, after doing the required config as given by victor it worked, pls the only thing left is that the management wants the report for the period before the config was done, mc+e is not getting this, it give error "no data generated" how can i pull out this data?
    Thanks
    Maureen

    Hi Maureen,
The infotable behind MC+E is infostructure S001.
You should recalculate its content using standard programs from LIS customizing.
Check OSS notes beforehand, the trick is to calculate first the sales orders, then the deliveries and only afterwards the billing documents. Also check the update groups is correctly updated in the old sales documents, on the contrary, the statistical setup of the infotable will not work correctly.

    Franck
