Path problem in windows os

Dear friends,
some time I meet a strange class path problem under windows enviroment. that is, the class path uses "/" to splite directory while not "\". so java will report error message like "NoClassFoundError: com/boland/...". I think there should be a way to adjust this environment problem. but I don't know how to set this. I will greatly appreciate if you happen to know this and let me know.
Best wishes,
Sam

You reported an error in a package statement or reference. This is nothing to do with the OS folder structure per se, altho that is how it is implemented on a given platform like windows. Classpath statements are NOT platform independent, due to path separator issues. You should not use a system-wide classpath variable anyway, as this is really quite bad practice. Instead, create a run script for you program, and put the -cp switch in there. In any case, you should be referencing packages (separated by dots) in there anyway, not actual paths.

    Hi
I'm having a problem with a Flash based slideshow based on

I've added a timed nextSlide function but basically left the

The problem is that the file works fine in a html file on any
Mac browser I care to test in, Firfox,Netscape,Safari and even
IE5.2 but when I try it in Windows IE6 or firefox, no picture s or

I also tried the original tutorial file and it doesn't seem
    to work either.
Can anyone cast any light on this problem?
I thought it was the different way paths are defined on Mac
& Windows ie / vs \ so I put everything at the same level and
redefined the paths in the xml to be at the same level , but still
    no go on Windows.
    Help! please!

    Hello!
Does anyone have any idea what the problem is with this?
The example is from the support section of this site and it
doesn't work. Surely an Adobe support person has a comment.

  • Installation problem on windows server 2008 r2 datacenter edition 64bit

    hi
today, i tried to install the current maxdb 7.8 release on my virtual server with a windows server 2008 r2 datacenter 64bit edition os. at the first installation, i got an error message something with "rte runtime error". at this point, the installation stopped.
because of this error, i tried to uninstall the failed installation. this was not possible, in the uninstaller, i didn't see any components, so i can't uninstall.
so i tried to delete the files manually: the entries in the start menu, and the application's path under "program files"... first, i need to kill a process named "serv.exe", that creates a tcp daemon under port 7200... after killing it, the deletion of the dir in program files was successful.
this is very very weird, now my server is "contaminated" with an uncomplete uninstallation of maxdb...
why maxdb 7.8 has problems on windows server 2008 r2 datacenter 64bit edition???
    thanks for feedbacks!
    regards, jan

    > no, because i canceled this virtual server - another method to solve this problem. (i have really no time for things like that..!)
If you take the time to give exact error messages then someone will be certainly able to help
    > on windows server 2003, there are NO problems.
Windows 2003 != Windows 2008 - they use a different kernel, a different security system (UAC) and other features that may prevent a succesfull installation in the first place.
I installed a MaxDB 7.8 just today on Windows 2008 R2 and it worked fine.

  • Path problem when moving from Mac to PC

    Adobenoob wrote:
    Hi,
I'm trying to move our Adobe InDesign installation from Mac to PC, but I ran into a path problem. A lot of our publications/documents in Adobe InDesign have linked to pictures in the filesystem (Windows 2008 R2 server). It goes like this:
    DTP:Produktbilleder:0893ny:0893_467+468_05_Agrp frit_.tif
And is linked like this directly from InDesign.
    The actual path is:
    /Volumes/DTP/Produktbilleder/0893ny/0893_467+468_05_Agrp frit_.tif
On the PC I cannot use that path notation and have to go like this:
    F:\DTP\Produktbilleder\0893ny\0893_467+468_05_Agrp frit_.tif
When the publication/document in InDesign have the Mac link "hardcoded" the PC path will not work.
Is there a relatively easy way to get the InDesign on PC to use the Mac link or does one have to change all the "hardcoded" links in the publications/documents?
I hope you understand my question - don't hesitate to ask for more info.
    Best Regards
    Brian

    Hi,
I have just tested the function - and it seems that the files have to be in the same folder. It is not recursive as I see it. And since we have tens of thousand of pictures in thousands of different folders it does not seem to work.
    Any other suggestions?

  • Path problem during  Change of Original

    Hello,
I am facing path problem while changing the Original file in a DIR.
let say i created a DIR x and attached file a.txt from c:\ and  saved the DIR.
Now if i use cv02 and select a original for change the popup window comes with data carrier and original file path  the path is shown as c:\a.txt which is actual original path.
if i click on continue it is opening the c:\a.txt files and  changes are done on the original file on my pc.
This way my original file is changed on pc and in DIR also.
I want to know how to avoid this?.
    Regards
    Shiv

That is why they call it document "Management".  The Original File is in the "Vault" where it can be managed, not on the desktop.  If you want to protect/save the file on your desktop, set the flag in the config of the workstation application to not allow "rename" of the temporary file.  You are just attempting to circumvent the intended design of the system. What you should really do is set the flag to "delete" the file after check-in.

  • How to set the path variable on Windows ME?

I want to get a friend of mine to start using java the only problem is that we both dont know how to set the path variable in Windows ME. I cant seem to find any instructions on it for ME. So if someone could please tell me how or give me a llnk to directions for Windows ME. Thanks.

Refer to the Installation Instructions for the package that you installed - I believe #5 if the instructions has the information. A link to the instructions is at the page you installed from.

  • Temp Profile Problem. Windows 7, Domain

I have about 50 machines on domain with Windows 7 32bit OS.  We are having a problem with windows not grabbing our default profile for three of our users and instead giving them a Temp Profile every time they log into the domain.  One is a normal
user account and two are admin.  All other users can log onto any computer at anytime and they do not get the temp profile.  The three accounts get the temp profile no matter which computer on the domain they choose to log in to.  Any ideas?

Creating a default local profile for Windows 7
Create a new standard local user account (named STDPROFILE), add this account to the local Administrators group on the PC.
Reboot, then log onto the PC using the local user account from previous Step.
Set up profile settings as desired; desktop icons, mapped printers, FRVIS physical/logical, IE home page, etc..
Reboot when finished, log back onto PC with the local “Administrator” account.
Double-click “Computer”, then click organize, folder and search options. On the view tab, make sure “show hidden files, folders and drives” is selected; also uncheck “Hide protected Operating System Files”. Click OK
Under C:/Users, rename the hidden “Default” user folder (NOT “Default User”)
Make copy of the profile (STDPROFILE) customized in Step 2, rename the folder “Default”.
Right click the folder—under properties, then security tab—add “Everyone” permissions with Full Control (include all folders and subfolders).
    Run regedit.exe
Click on HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE. Under File, select “Load Hive”
Browse to the “C:/Users/Default” folder, click on ntuser.dat (make sure hidden and system files are displayed). Name the key TEMPLATE_ACCOUNT.
Right click on the TEMPLATE_ACCOUNT key, select Export, save the .reg file to the desktop.
Open the .reg file with Notepad, and under “Edit—replace..” put the user name STDPROFILE in the “Find what” field, to be replace with the string %USERNAME% -- choose “Replace All” then save the .reg file. Double click it to re import the changes.
    Re-open regedit.exe
Under TEMPLATE_ACCOUNT – Control Panel – desktop, change “Wallpaper” path to the wallpaper of your choice (a local OR network path will work here). Check other settings and modify any other keys.
If RealPlayer is installed to the image—click on TEMPLATE_ACCOUNT—SOFTWARE—Realnetworks. Delete the entire RealNetworks Key. This key will recreate.
When done, click on TEMPLATE_ACCOUNT. Then click File, select “unload hive”. This will save the changes you made.

  • Oracle 8i EE Install problems on Windows 2000

Problem 1 - LENGTH OF INSTALL FILES PATH.
The Oracle Universal Installer was coming up fine, but the "Next" button wouldn't do anything. After much trial and error, I discovered this to be related to the path of the install files. Rather than burning to CD, I had copied the install files into a directory C:\ORA816 - when I renamed this directory to just C:\O, the "Next" magically began working. This problem only occurs on Windows 2000, not NT4.
Problem 2 - CREDENTIAL RETRIEVAL FAILED.
I got this error (ORA-12638) from the Database Configuration Assistant. This just happened, so I haven't had a chance to figure it out. Has anyone encountered/fixed this problem in Windows 2000? I am running the install as Administrator.

Re: Problem 2. Just found out that this problem is resolved by removing the line SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES from
    %ORACLE_HOME%\network\admin\sqlnet.ora

  • Reader X on Win7 64-bit: Path Problems cause error

    Hi,
    Environment
    Problem Description
    Workaround and Further Issues
    Environment
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and just downloaded Reader X from the FTP - both exe and msi files.
It doesn't make a difference which installer I use.
    Problem Description
When I try to run Acrobat using the created shortcut on the desktop or by double-clicking on a .pdf file, I get this error, with the logo behind it:
    and then:
    and finally:
If I debug, it actually works (with Visual Studio running).
    Workaround and Further Issues
Deleting anything Adobe on the PC (AppData), installing, repairing doesn't help.
If you run Reader from the installed folder directly, it works.
If you modify the main shortcut (which doesn't include the working directory) it then works from the shortcut.
Double clicking on any PDF file still brings up the error.
Running the AcroRd32.exe file without path from the windows Run dialog works.
The AppPaths registry setting kick in when running the bare AcroRd32.exe, which allow working directory specification.
HKCR\.extension file associations have no way of specifying the working directory.
Related HKCR\Applications settings also don't have a working directory specification.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee872121%28VS.85%29.aspx
If I remove the path from the executable file in the various areas of the registry to try to emulate that behaviour (of setting working directory through the AppPaths entry), it doesn't help.
I hope this contribution is helpful in solving the issue. In the meantime, I will have to revert to v9.

If anyone else is running Win-7 64-bit and is *not* experiencing this problem, please reply and say so.
Might be a problem with my system instead...

  • Mirrored volumes pathing problems

    mirrored volumes pathing problems
I am running Windows 2008 Server Datacenter.
I created some mirrored volumes with disk administrator.
These disk are in a fibre channel fabric.
All paths go down so disk administrator losses the disks.
All paths come up and disk administrator recovers the disks.
The mirrors all show as failed.
There are disks that show as failed, and disks that show as foreign.
When I import the foreign disks.
One of the mirrored volume starts resyncing, and the other mirrored volume comes up as 2 simple volumes.
Both mirrored volumes were in sync when the paths went down.
So I expected them to come back up as mirrored volumes when the paths come back up.
There is no I/O running at the time of the path failures.

So let me see if I understand correctly.
2 volumes presented to 2008 Datacenter via fibre channel
Volumes are then mirrored via windows
Disks drop off line and then the second mirror is 2 simple volumes but the first is rebuilding.
So question 1 - Is it for read performance that the disks are mirrored?
Question 2 - what disk errors appear in the event log when this happens
Question 3 - whats the HBA used in the server
Question 4 - Whats the backend staorage
Question 5 - Is MPIO being used?
Do we know the reason that the paths became unavailable? That would be probably my biggest concern.
Also when the simple volumes came back up was the data available?

  • Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit)

First of all my windows is not genuine, but on my friend's desktop oracle download and installation  worked fine, he chose "create and configure database" options, and it works very well on his desktop, though his windows is also illegitimate. In my case, when I select "Create and configure database" option and pressed 'next",
(Go to my blog to see it with snapshots: Computer Science: Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit))
it asks to select class, I select "Desktop class" and pressed "next". The moment I pressed "next", the whole setup thing disappeared like it was never started. I searched for all possible reasons for why its not getting installed on my laptop, I used registry cleaner s/w,  deleted 25 GB of data to create free space if it were the problem, increased the virtual memory to increase the space for RAM, I did almost everything to get this setup working, but I found no success with the "Create and Configure database" option
    and
    then
I chose a "database software only" option and chose to store in a folder w/o spaces. This way, I got database s/w only and then later I found "Database configuration Assistant (DBCA)"  from windows START button and clicked to create and configure database manually. The steps are pretty much interactive and doesn't involve much brainstorming.
    The values I filled for
    1) Global Database Name :  orcl
    2) System Identifier : orcl
    3) I chose common password for both SYS and SYSTEM
    4) while on Enterprise Manager Configuration step, It asked me to create and configure listener in oracle home, so for that too, I typed "netca" in windows START menu and clicked it. There I added a listener.
    5) I chose a Storage area which was the Oracle-home itself i.e. where our installation files goes , in my case it is : C:\oracle_base\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oradata
    6) Then after few more nitty-gritty clicks, we are set to go !
Finally to write SQL code and to create your first TABLE , type "sqlplus" in windows "START" menu and click it when it appears. A command-prompt like window appears , which will ask you for username and password, so here they are :
    Username : sys/ as sysdba
Password : (its the one you created in step 3 stated above )
After this you are ready to write your first SQL command.

Is this your solution to your original post at Oracle database 11g release 2 installation on windows 7 (64-bit) ?
Pl be aware that you should not create any custom objects in SYS or SYSTEM schema - you should create any such objects in a separate custom schema.

Lightroom 3.2 Installation Problem on Windows 7 64-bit
I can't install Lightroom 3.2 (German) on my computer (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit).
While copying the extracted program files the following error message appears:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {6435B7C0-E0C8-3EA2-91AE-7640034EAFCE}. HRESULT: 0x80070002.
I found out that other users had the same problem, and couldn't find a solution.
Perhaps it is a Microsoft .NET Framework related problem. But after installing .NET Framework 4 nothing changed.
Thanks for ideas to solve the problem.

Thanks for your advice, Mr. McLion.
I downloaded the 3.4.1 version and started the installation as administrator. Unfortunately the same error message occured again.
Then I tried to install the 32-bit version (although I prefer a 64-bit program on a 64-bit operating system). A similar error message appeared at the same point of installation progress, but with another combination of numbers and letters in brackets.

    Hi,
According to your description, it seems like VS itself problem, you can try to repair this program through Control Panel for test. If no use, it would be better to post your question at VS forum for further assistance.

  • TS3918 I am experiencing this problem on Windows 7 64 bit.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am experiencing aniTunes reinstall problem on Windows 7 64 bit.    I have uninstalled the iTunes product and reinstalled 11.02 for windows 7 64 bit but can't get iTunes going again.  The first error message I get is: "The file "iTunes Libirary.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes".  The next error message I get is:  "There is a problem sending the command to the program."  Any suggestions on what to do next would be appreciated. ( I would have posted this in Windows area had I been given a choice.)

I believe that message can sometimes be a sign of a corrupt library file, unless of course you've tried to downgrade to an older build of iTunes. Restore it as described in this post.
