Pattern tool background fill

Is there a way that the background fill of a pattern can fill the whole pattern so that there aren't gaps like the above picture? So that it woudn't matter if you expanded the border there would always be a solid fill background?

You are welcome, newbie.
I was wondering if there were possibly any other way to do it.
Maybe a more specific description/showing of the (basic) artwork will lead to alternative answers.

  • How to !not make a cropped pattern element in the whole background fill

    So with alot of reading and help i did manage to bild a background filled with pattern emelent ,but whhen i resize it ,it is croped.What i mean is
    the pattern element is this and its a simple bitmap with the name of "Box"
    and when i fill the background with this element test the FLA file and drag the corner of the SWF window (i am making it bigger ), it crops the  last pattern element in in every Row and Column.Just like in this picture
    so how do i not crop it ? and make it as the 2nd resized image (the one with the red tick,the one with the "YES").
    the problem is that i re- scale the stage so somethimes its 400-500 and other its 1000 to 400 and that is why i use the
    matrix.scale(1.1, 1.1);
    (those numbers will be a variable that will change as the stage size changes)
    i have this code in the MainClass_Test class (the document class)
            import flash.display.Sprite;
              import flash.display.Bitmap;
              import flash.display.BitmapData;
              public class MainClass_Test extends Sprite {
                        private var bg1:CreateRow_Col = new CreateRow_Col();
                        public function MainClass_Test() {
                                  bg1.x = 0;
                                  addChild(bg1);
                                  trace(numChildren)
    and this in the CreateRow_Col class
            import flash.display.Sprite;
              import flash.events.Event;
              import flash.geom.Matrix;
              public class CreateRow_Col extends Sprite {
                        public function CreateRow_Col() {
                                  addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, zzz);
                        private function zzz(e:Event):void {
                                  removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, zzz);
                                  var  matrix:Matrix = new Matrix()
                                  matrix.scale(1.1, 1.1);
                                  graphics.beginBitmapFill(new Box(), matrix, true, false);
                                  graphics.drawRect(0, 0, stage.stageWidth, stage.stageHeight);
                                  graphics.endFill();
    i did try it with adding the new Box().width and new Box().height but that only expands the area that the background will spread.
    I did something like this with a wlile loop > and adding the pattern element to the stage and moving it until the patternElement.x < stage.stageWidth + patternElement.width,
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5649061#5649061
    but this creates to many objects on the stage and i dont want that.

    ok i found i way to do what i want but when i scale the image backgroud to fit exactly the screen it doesnt consider the scale of the object I am applying before that .
    What i mean > when i do this  and comment the _mesh.ScaleX and Y
    var ScaleX:Number = 1
    var ScaleY:Number = 3
    /*_mesh.scaleX = stageW / background_W;
                                  _mesh.scaleY = stageH / background_H;*/
    i have 2 rows like it must do ,cause ill have different scaleX and Y
    but when i uncomment the _mesh.ScaleX and Y i dont get the 2 rows fit in the entire scree like i want , I get 5 rows (they are purfectly sized to fit the stage.stageWidth or Height - what i want but not allways five).And even worse when i change the scale to any number like .5 or 51 or 501 it just doesnt care >> i always get 5 rows.
    i have this in the CreateRow_Col class as code
    private var _mesh:Shape = new Shape();
                        private var _box:BitmapData = new Box();
                        public function CreateRow_Col() {
                                  addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, zzz);
                        private function zzz(e:Event):void {
                                  removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, zzz);
                                  var stageW:Number = stage.stageWidth
                                  var stageH:Number = stage.stageHeight
                                  var elementW = _box.width
                                  var elementH = _box.height
                                  var numberElements_W = Math.ceil(stageW / elementW)
                                  var numberElements_H = Math.ceil(stageH / elementH)
                                  var ScaleX:Number = 1
                                  var ScaleY:Number = 51
                                  var background_W = numberElements_W * elementW * ScaleX
                                  var background_H = numberElements_H * elementH * ScaleY
                                  //trace(background_W + " = "+ numberElements_W + " * " + elementW)
                                  var  matrix:Matrix = new Matrix()
                                  matrix.scale(ScaleX,ScaleY);
                                  _mesh.graphics.beginBitmapFill(_box, matrix, true, true);
                                  _mesh.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, background_W, background_H);
                                  _mesh.graphics.endFill();
                                  _mesh.x = _mesh.y = 0;
                                  _mesh.scaleX = stageW / background_W;
                                  _mesh.scaleY = stageH / background_H;
                                  trace(stageH / background_H)
                                  addChild(_mesh);

  • Paint Bucket Pattern Tool has stopped working!

    It seem I can't fill anything with a pattern, the tool just refuses to work. The best I get with it is being able to fill the document with the background colour!
    I can fill with the forground colour but as soon as I switch it over to the pattern tool it will not work.
    Does anyone have any suggestion?
    It is Photoshop CS6 running on a MacBook Pro with MacOS 10.8.2
    I have disabled all extensions, restarted my machine but nothing helps.
    Agghh this is really annoying...

  • After I chose a color with the eye dropper tool, the filler fills in a grayer version of the color, for some reason.

    I have CS3 and after I chose a color with the eye dropper tool, the filler fills in a grayer version of the color for some reason. Everything was fine till I accidentally picked the color sampler tool instead of the eye dropper tool. I undid that, but then after that everything with the regular eye dropper tool and the fill tool got messed up. How can I fix it?

    Sorry, I am new to the forum, and a novice with not much knowledge about computers. Sorry if some terms that I use here may not be entirely correct, as I am ignorant of terms of the trade. My Operating system is Mac 10.6.8. I am using Photoshop 10.0.1. I am doing a many layered color RGB setting artwork from scanned and photo images, 8 bits/channel. I have been working on this project for a month without any problems. I was using the eye dropper tool. I selected a color in my artwork and it showed up in the background color box, in the tools window, as a match from the sample that I had taken. Then I selected an area, with the lasso tool, and I accidentally picked the tool called "color sample tool", that puts a little target on the sample area and then a box pops up with numbers that move when the tool moves. That wasn't what I wanted, so I got out of there and chose the eye dropper, I selected the color, it looked good in the box in the tools window, but then when I went up to the fill command and chose fill ( which was set at 100%). I filled the selection, but it was not the color I chose that is in box, it was a grayed and lightened version of the one that I chose. I checked the layers setting and the opacity and fill were at 100%, as was the fill setting. I can't figure out what is making it not fill in the color that is chosen in the tools color window. Does anyone on this forum have an idea of what might be happening and how to fix it?

  • Background fill floating fields?

    Is there a way to background specific text within a text object? I'm trying to shade my floating fields. It looks like the background fill
    only applies like borders, so it only applies to the entire text object.
    I know you can change the color of words within a text object. Seems like the ability to background fill particular words should be a basic feature.
    Thanks

    I figured this out. When you create the static text object at design time, make sure that it has a word with a different colour or font or something. That will ensure that its value property contains an exData object with contentType="text/html". Now you can change the contents at run time with (I've replaced the angle brackets with {}):
    var theXML = "{body xmlns=\"http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml\" xmlns:xfa=\"http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/\" xfa:APIVersion=\"2.5.6290.0\"}{p style=\"text-decoration:none\"}The{span style=\"xfa-spacerun:yes\"} {/span}{span style=\"color:#ff0000\"}quick{/span} brown fox.{/p}{/body}";
    StaticText1.value.exData.loadXML(theXML,true);

  • Button background fill "Linear - to top" not showing after save.

    I've made the proper edits to make these buttons look very "cool" having the background filled to a gradient look which is called "Linear to top", but once I save this form and open the PDF the button color is solid rather then gradient or "linear to top"
    Any explination?

    If you have done the changes to your your button background color at the design time, it should retain the changes anywhere you open it.
    If you have done the changes to your button background color through Script, then you may need set the Save changes automatically.
    If your issue is not resolved, by changing the settings, you can post the form to [email protected], so I can have a look..

  • Paragraph background fill also applies character background fill

    This is what I want and see in iBooks Author:
    This is what I get and see in iBooks on an iPad 1:
    Note the difference in the last line of text and the grey background: "expensive: satellites worth $370M were lost." acts as if there's a character background fill when I only have a parapgraph background fill applied. This seems like a bug either in iBooks Author or iBooks 2. Has anyone run into this? Any suggestions for a fix?

    You may have inadvertantly selected background character fill. You want a text box object that contains this text and then you want to select background fill for the whole text box.
    TIP
    I noticed that some text boxes can have a different background fills depending on the mode vertical or portrait. So I choose both views to check to see if I am getting what I want. I simply fill the background in both views.
    One has to be careful that only the text box is selected otherwise you will end up filling the background for selected text. In your example turn on invisibles and check to see if a few were included in your fill producing the effect you have displayed.
    Check both views in IA.

  • Background Fills Behind Text Support with IceBrowser

    Hello,
    I was wondering if background fills is support by the supplied oracle help browser?
    I can open the htm file that I create with a different browser such as Mozilla and it works/
    Using the same file within oracle help I do not see the background fill.
    Thanks

    Hi, Darren:
    If the text lines are in a single paragraph that wraps within the frame, you can use a nested style that applies named character styles by line number (new in CS4) so you can have line1 apply a character style that applies an offset green underline thick enough to back up the text, and line2 use a yellow, etc. You can also set the sequence of nested styles to repeat the previous x-number of styles (also new in CS4.)

  • Background fill scale to fit scroll motion issue. Please help...

    I am having an issue with the background fill. I am using an image at least 2500px wide. It seems that when I have scrolling checked, the image scales to fit the browser normally when I preview the page. However, if I turn scrolling off, when previewing the page, the background image shrinks from 30-50% and no longer scales to fit. As soon as I go back, check scrolling again, it then scales to fit as normal.  This also happens if I have scrolling checked and then set initial and final motion to 0. It again shrinks the background image and stops scaling to fit. As soon as I put any value in the initial and final motion, it again shrinks the image.
    When doing the above same thing on a master page, using the same image, even with scrolling checked, the image doesn't scale to fit.
    This brings me to a second issue. The custom scrolling on the background isn't working. No matter what I set the values to, the browser always scrolls the back ground image up, even if I change the rate or direction, it stays at 1 and in the up motion.
    How can I fix this??
    Thank you!

    This is due to the fact of image size and scroll setup with fill, Please check this post which includes a similar discussion :

  • How to add background fill to ColumnChart created without MXML?

    I'm trying to create ColumnCharts on-the-fly, without using MXML. To my surprise, I've had good luck with this so far, and have managed to figure most things out by blind guesswork, since I can't find any documentation or sample code anywhere for this.
    For example, I'm trying to turn this:
        <mx:ColumnChart id="overallSpendingChart" dataProvider="{spendingDataList}" showDataTips="true" paddingLeft="10" paddingRight="10" height="30%" width="100%" >

            <mx:series>
                <mx:ColumnSeries id="organizationTypeSpending" yField="Amount" xField="OrganizationTypeName" displayName="Organization Type [??]" showDataEffect="slideIn" />
            </mx:series>
        </mx:ColumnChart>
    into this:
            // Test to see if we can fake up a chart without using </mx:ColumnChart> resources.

                var centerOR:LatLng = stateCenters['OR'];
                testingChartAddToGoogleMap(testChart, centerOR);
            private function testingChartAddToGoogleMap(theChart:ColumnChart, theLatLong:LatLng):void
                var options:MarkerOptions = new MarkerOptions();
                options.icon = theChart;
                options.iconAlignment = MarkerOptions.ALIGN_HORIZONTAL_CENTER + MarkerOptions.ALIGN_VERTICAL_CENTER;
                options.iconOffset = new Point(0, 0);
                options.hasShadow = false;

                var theMarker:Marker = new Marker(theLatLong, options);
                map.addOverlay(theMarker);
    As you can see I'm fumbling through it. The above does seem to work, except I have not been able to blunder through how to set a background fill, both to set column colors and to set background colors for the whole graph.
    For example, how do I the ActionScript equivalent of these <mx:fill> tags:
         <mx:ColumnChart id="myChart" dataProvider="{expenses}" showDataTips="true">
            <mx:horizontalAxis>
               <mx:CategoryAxis
                    dataProvider="{expenses}"
                    categoryField="Month"
               />
            </mx:horizontalAxis>
            <mx:series>
               <mx:ColumnSeries
                    xField="Month"
                    yField="Profit"
                    displayName="Profit"
               >
                   <mx:fill>
                        <mx:SolidColor color="0x336699"/>
                   </mx:fill>
               </mx:ColumnSeries>
               <mx:ColumnSeries
                    xField="Month"
                    yField="Expenses"
                    displayName="Expenses"
               >
                <mx:fill>
                    <mx:SolidColor color="0xFF99FF"/>
                </mx:fill>
               </mx:ColumnSeries>
            </mx:series>
         </mx:ColumnChart>
    (If there is documentation on this type of technique, I'd appreciate a pointer. What I'd really love is source output from the MXML compiler, sigh.)

    Keying is not an option according to the information you are providing.
    The project, for better or worse, was created with a transparent background. In an art installation I > projected this movie onto a screen made of blueprints...
    If you really did create it with a transparent background, using an alpha and the Animation codec, we're off to an easy solution. However, you did not use the Animation file in live playback. You created a QT movie that had a black background, possibly super-black. With little or no light coming through the black areas, it looked transparent. But there's no way to project transparency and the Animation codec cannot be played back in realtime without hardware support.
    I now have a photo of the blueprint screen and want to composite it with the movie so the "new"
    movie documents the installation view - ie where the movie is lighter, the screen shows through
    more. I've tried everything I know (which is obviously not enough!) and would appreciate your
    expertise on this.
    About all you can do is experiment with multiple copies of your layer with different filters and composite modes applied to them till you get something you think you want to use. The problem is that when you use composite modes, you can only get 100% white when you add or combine underlying pixels so the illusion of a projection is a suggestion at best. That is, white photos projected on your white blueprint should be bright but they can't be brighter than the white from either source.
    An additive dissolve filter will help you envision some possibilities but, unfortunately, it can't be keyframed in FCP.
