PayPal Field Selection from a From

Using Windows7, if a Form has many Fields within it, when I go to the PayPal activation Tab... and try to assign Form Fields to the PayPal presentation/calculation, the Dropdown List of Form Fields 'stops' vertically when it fills the screen (if there are more Fields on the Form than fit in the vertical space of the dropdown)... and doesn't allow scrolling down or arrowing down or paging down to view/pick Fields that are further down the list.
Is there a solution for this?

Hi Butch,
The only work-around that I can think of would be to temporarily move the payment fields closer to the top of the form such that they become accessible in the drop-down list. Once configured as payment fields, you would move them back to the correct position.

Okay. I found the solution to this.
Now, along with this single reference, we also wish to bring the values of some more joined fields from the other record type in the Opportunities screen.
We were hoping that the Default value, and using fx, we should be able to achieve this using "joinedfieldvalue". However, it's not bringing back any value. Our expression is -
JoinFieldValue('<CustomObject3>',[<CustomObject3Id>],'<stState_ITAG>')
Please help if you have done this before.

Field selection for Material Type

Hi,
When we create the material type we are assigning a field ref. in Define Material attributes screen, and when we are creating the industry sector there also we are assigning a field screen reference.
No when we creat a materail with MM01, and if Field ref. is different in Industry sector and material type then which system will follow when we create the material it will be ref. to field selection in Material type or industry sector.

When you talkout Material type is basically controls the properties of a Material like important control fucntions and attributes.
That is inturn, like Field selection, Special material type, Type of Procurement, Stock (Qty &Value) updation, User departments and Price control. But,
where as Field selection is control key which consits of some setoff fields which are subjected to a perticular Industry sector like, Plant &Construction, Mechanical Industry, Pharmacuetical Industry, Chemical Industry, etc. In this case field selection is different from Industry to Industry, but in some cases field selection is common for the similar kind of Industries or Industry sectors.
And the Field selection is subjected to the Material type as well, that means each material type can have their own Field selection (it is named with a field selection key 3 char sap code for field selection).
Comming to the Creation of Material master record : using MM01 ( create material -general)
here, you need to select the material type and industry sector --> then you need to choose the relevent user departments and subsequently plant, sloc.etc.
Note: when you are creating the material in the above fasion, you need to enter the relevent data which is w.r.to the user departments which you have choosen, and those inturn reflect from this control data ( attributes and important control functions as I said is the definition of Material type).
And this is how a material is created, wether it can be a Raw material, Semi finished Product or Finished Product, etc.
Note: There is an option to create your own Material Types, but SAP suggests to use standard Material type when you create material master record, unless otherwise a special requirement comes from your client is from Specific Industry sector or if running a special kind of business which is not yet dragged into the SAP R/3 system.

Restrict the field selection

Hi,
i would like to restrict the field selection upto 20 from left to right pane in the field choice popup.
when the user cliks on the push button in selction screen, pop up will come for field selection for sorting order. now user will have a facility to move the fields from left box to right box, where we have to restrict only 20. if it exceeds, need to pass a message.
Could some one help on this.

I'm fairly new to this, but I think it has to do with the way you have the drop downs named. Did you copy one then keep pasting it in each field? If so, that is the problem. You should rename each one with a different number: Dropdown1, Dropdown2, etc. I think that might solve the issue.

Select a field having some content from a table

Hi Friends,
I had a requiremen where I need to fetch the field(having some content).
I need to select FISTL field which is having some value (not space) from table BSIS into my internal table, so that I need to update this field value for all the line items with the same BELNR(doc number).
My Approach:
SELECT SINGLE FISTL FROM BSIS INTO WA_FINAL-FISTL WHERE FISTL IS NOT NULL AND
BELNR = WA_BSIS-BELNR.
But here if the first occurance of FISTL value in BSIS table in space, it is picking the spaces and updating my itab which means that a space value is not null.
Please suggest me how to put condition so that I can select FISTL field having some value in it.
Tried with read keyword also. But it is not accepting "IS INITIAL" in where clause.
Please look into this.

You should try
FISTL NE space
instead of IS NOT NULL.
As you might be aware ABAP data objects don't have 'NULL' values defined. You can use the 'NULL' values in Native SQL, but in case of Open SQL SAP says,
"When reading with the Open SQL statement SELECT, null values can be created by aggregate functions or an outer join, but they are converted to initial values of the correct type when passed to data objects."
Source: SAP documentation for NULL value.

[ADF-UIX] updating some fields after selecting an item from messageChoice

I'll try and keep it short and simple.
How do I do the following: I have 2 ViewObjects: department - employees, they
have a 1 - many relationship. But there's no master-detail in my ViewObjects
(no link between my view objects)
On my UIX page I have a input form for Employees, with a messageChoice for
choosing a department. And I show an extra label department_description, which
comes from Department view. How can I update this label after selecting an item
from the messageChoice?
Is is possible?
I tried searching this forum, but didnt find anything, hard define search
parameters for this :)

Hi,
I tried it in another page, one with a read-only form for courses.
There it kinda works for the first 2 out of 3 items in the messageChoice,
but not the last option.
It does give me an error in JDev during runtime though

Can it be because CourseView has 2 EntityObjects, course and course_codes.
and I have a course_codeView, with just 1 EntityObject, course_codes
So when im building the uix page I have 2 options where to pull the longname
from, CourseView and course_codeView. I tried both btw, and only the longname
from CourseView changes. I would expect the other one to change.
Oh well, im kinda lost now, perhaps I'll drop this feature and think of an
otherway to implement my screen.

How to create a multi column list item and select these values from a LOV

My requirements are:
1) create an LOV which holds the productno, productname and productprice fields (this is working)
2) at run time, select one record from LOV and populate the list/grid with this selected record values of productno, productname and productprice fields, so we are showing them on the form in the form of a table/grid (not working)
3) be able to select multiple records from LOV and be able to populate the list item with multiple records (not working)
4) have two more columns in the list/grid, for productquatity and total price (not wokring)
Please help me.

If you use a list item to display multiple columns then you'll need to use a fixed-width font. You can achieve a similar look with proportional fonts by using a normal block and setting the fields' bevel to 'None'.
Each column in the LOV has a Return Item property (under Column Mapping Properties). Set this to a :block.item reference for each column to bring the data back into those referenced fields.
You can't select multiple records from an LOV. For this you will need to create your own form. Check the help for system.mouse_button_modifiers to see how to respond to Ctrl+click and Shift+click.
To add columns just modify the LOV's record group's query.

Yes, once you select a person from your Contacts app, you either need to select more from the '+' button or you can tap in the 'to:' field and type in the first few letters of a contact and select from the list. Kinda bummer but gotta make do.

Select sales orders from a list of order type

I have about 20 customed order types, Z001 to Z020, and I want to select about 8-9 out of the 20 order types.
Currently, I am using

INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE IT_SO

Is there any better ways (considering performance) except builing an index to write the above SQL statement?

From performance side,
I think that best way is index creation.
But, if you are not want index creation,
another condition must be added to WHERE clause.
Currently, VBAK have two indexes.
VBAK-AUDAT - order date
VBAK-ERDAT - ordet entry date.
so, you can try the followings.
WHERE erdat between '20050101' and '20051231'
AND auart IN ....

I have dropdownbyindex UI elements in my Views, I get values from BAPI. When click records in a table, It goes to another view to display full record. Here i have dropdownbyIndexes So it should select one of appropriate value in dropdownbyindex based on record(Value) in table.

Let suppose, context node for Status is, StatusNode.

Based on this statement from you:

I have one additional solution which is the "text box" approach IF the 'id counter' mentioned above is a numeric data type.
If so, use an SQL function to get the highest value of ID_COUNTER.
Then simply add one to it to produce a new, unique, higher-order primary key.
See below:
data: l_id_counter like ztable-id_counter.
data: new_id_counter like ztable-id_counter.
select max( ID_COUNTER ) from ztable into l_id_counter.
new_id_counter = l_i_counter + 1.
Now new_id_counter will be the unique, primary key IF this is the only field in ZTABLE's primary key.
This will also GUARANTEE that your new record is built correctly.
