Pbook 15" 1.67ghz what memory make does it use ?

My replacement Pbook get's here this weekend and I would like to know what brand ie: samsung , kensington etc. it is as my pc2700 1gb will likely not work with the standard ram that is in there "512mb pc4200 ddr2 "
I see at tigerdirect I can get 1GB pc4200 ddr2 for $100 and 2gb pc4200 ddr2 for $170 +/- .
Now finally I can watch Benny Hill "naughty early years" again.

You can use any brand as long as you keep to that spec PC4200 DDR2. Also i think Apple use samsung officially at least thats what i had when i used to use the Hi-Res powerbooks

By what time zone does Verizon use to log data usage?  When I checked my current usage, there is data used logged in at early morning times and I don't have anyone else who is up at these times.  I also have 1.8+ GB charged to my allowance that I don't understand at all how it is mine because the highest I've ever logged at any given time has been barely 0.5 GB.  I'm cruising along at .04-.07 GB and all of a sudden appears a 1.8+ GB deduction/usage and it makes me wonder what the ???? is going on.  Is Verizon posting fraudulent usage amounts just to drive up my usage so I have to buy more Gigs?

The time is not the time of actual use, but the time a tower reports the use. The data would have been used anytime prior to that time. Usually, but no always, the usage happened between the time prior and the time reported.
    For example:
    9:00 AM   1.23 MB
    7:05 AM   0.01 MB
    1:15 AM  350.03 MB
    8:00 PM   23.89 MB
This does not indicate 350 MB was used at 1:15 AM. It really tell you 350 MB was used sometime between 8:00 PM and 1:15 AM.
The times are local time zone as far as I can tell.

  • What system properties does JavaFX use?

What system properties does JavaFX use, what are their value options and what do they do?
Do system properties used by JavaFX vary across platforms?
Will the JavaFX system properties continue to work in future JavaFX versions?
    Example properties are => -Dprism.lcdtext=false, -Dprism.order=j2d
I'm only interested in properties specific to JavaFX, not generic to the Java environment or JDK/JVM implementation.
If there is some documentation I missed, please just point me to a link to that.

:-) The one about lcdtext I found in JIRA. No idea if that continues to be supported... but I sure hope so.

  • What memory modules does the HP G60-441US Notebook (3GB) ship with?

I have 3 of these laptops and want to upgrade to 4 GB. I am thinking it must be a 1GB and a 2GB module. I can't find the specific information in any of the manuals. Does any one know the specs? Thanks in advance for your comments.

I concur that the unit ships with a 1Gb and a 2GB module. When sellecting your replacement ram, be sure to choose the 800Mhz units (DDR2-6400). HP Partsurfer identifies your mainboard as a GM45 chipset, which will will have reduced graphics performance if you use 667Mhz modules with a 800Mhz processor. (500Mhz render clock vs. 533Mhz.)
The installed modules should have the speed rating printed upon them, so it should be simple enough to match your existing 2Gb module to obtain 4GB.
    Hope this helps.

  • What "rich black" does AI use?

If I set my prefs to "Output All Blacks as Rich Blacks" what is the CMYK breakdown of this black? I usually make my own rich black, based on what kind of printing I'm doing (and set the pref to output accurately), but I was just curious what AI uses and why.

    @Bernie X:
Here's some "fact", not "theory". Your printer is not printing Registration… guaranteed. They fix it and don't tell you (and don't bother calling the sales guy since he would NEVER tell you the truth of it… another guarantee.)
The interactions of ink on paper dictate a specific total ink coverage and there is not a combination (though there could be some hyper-substrate I've never seen, though unlikely - definitely not just "coated stock") that would properly withstand this level of ink saturation. Ink would be offsetting on the other sheets like mad! Even if you dried between press passes (which would add days to your print job - not economically feasible and no printer in their right mind would do it regularly) and added driers and whatnot, at a certain point ink is not going to trap properly (and I'm talking about ink-to-ink trapping).
And since you want to toss around credentials, I've been doing Prepress (conventional and electronic), running many different presses (web, offset, flexo, etc), and even bindery for 23 years,  and commercial art for 30 years. I'm the guy that fixes the files people like you send in - and as a pressman I would have kicked those plates back to PrePress the minute I saw them (if they happened to get through, and as any knowledgeable pressman would do).
Just an FYI, the ISO standard for Rich Black is 50c 40m 40y 100k. This is also accepted in the GraCol7 standard though there is some anecdotal evidence that sub-Dmax Black values (ie. 93-97% Black) may actually visually appear darker in print.
PS: Your PDF can prove nothing. It's the apple, not an orange. It is a distant cousin to the plates that were on press when your job was printed. And BTW, opening your PDF it's immediately obvious that the file needs to be fixed.

  • FCP Motion round trip-what render settings does FCP use? Motions or FCPs?

FCP's sequence set to 8 bit SD uncompressed (not 10 bit YUV-although the clips are 10 bit uncomp, this is how the facility house wants it).
Do Motion's render settings matter if the clip arrives back in FCP as a .motn? For instance doMotion's view menu (options field rendering (altF) & draft/normal/best) and the Motion project settings(8 bit/float etc) make any difference or does FCP 8 bit sequence video processing setting override?
    \Many thanks

and additionally, why do luma levels come back from Motion clipped? As I understand it, Motion will convert to RGB and clip levels above 100%, but its done it to everything by about -10%. Strange, think I'll stick to QT exports in future, you know exactly where you stand

  • What directory names does Dovecot use to name mailboxes?

Over the New Years' weekend I migrated our mail server from a PPC-based Xserve G4 running OS X Server 10.5.8 to a new Intel Mac Mini running OS X Server 10.6.5. Overall, the migration was fairly straightforward, but we did have a mail glitch. Apple’s migration script run by Server Assistant (System/Library/ServerSetup/MigrationExtras/65mailmigrator.pl) created mailboxes at /var/spool/imap/dovecot/mail, as it should, but named the folders containing the migrated mail according to actual user names: like “bert” and “joe” and so on. When we actually fired up the mail server and watched what happened as new mail arrived or users logged in via POP / IMAP, we discovered that Dovecot was creating mail folders in /var/spool/imap/dovecot/mail named according to the users' GUIDs, such as A7FC2F6C-86C3-4119-B9C9-58B9B60E2066. So an entirely new set of mailboxes was being created, and the migrated mail wasn’t seen by our users at all.
Which is correct? Should the Dovecot mailboxes be named according to GUIDs or user names? We’re puzzled by the fact that Apple’s migration script created folders based on the users name whereas Dovecot appears to want to create folders based on GUID. I was able to manually copy over the contents of the migrated mail (bert/cur/*, joe/cur/*, and so on) to their proper locations, initially by hand for two users and then I wrote a small script to automate the copy for the remaining mailboxes. As a result, everyone received their migrated mail, though somewhat delayed and in some cases appearing more than once in their InBox as a result.
Our mail server, both in Leopard and SL form, is an Open Directory replica slaved off an Open Directory master. We had some fairly major corruptions present in the Leopard Server-based OD database we’d been using, so I made the decision to manually rekey a fresh OD database in from scratch using Workgroup Manager. I preserved user’s long and short names, UIDs, and group memberships but of course this new OD database had entirely new GUIDs for users. At first I thought the reason that Dovecot was using GUIDs to identify users it might have to do with the fact that the OD database had been rekeyed, and all the GUIDs had changed. Since then, however, I’ve brought up an experimental SL Server, also an OD replica of the same master. After enabling mail service on the experimental SL Server I’m seeing that Dovecot is also creating folders named by GUIDs as new mail arrives, and this server never knew what the original Leopard GUIDs were, so I must assume this is normal behavior.
…so the bottom line is which is correct: GUIDs or user names for Dovecot's mailboxes at /var/spool/imap/dovecot/mail? Assuming the answer is GUIDs then I have a bit of cleanup to delete all the folders that Dovecot isn’t using: right now it’s a bit of a mess. If it is supposed to be GUIDs, then the next question is why did Apple‘s migration script create folders based on user names and not GUIDs?
    …Any help would be appreciated.

R Bryan Harrison mentioned that Dovecot on his SL Servers name directories within /var/imap/dovecot/mail with GUIDs, not user names, as I noticed on a test server I built (a sandbox server). So it looks like our production mail system is doing the right thing.

  • When using Icloud service for windows to synchronize with outlook, what outlook profile does it use - is there a way to specify which one?

After loading  - iCloud Control Panel for Windows v1.1 and logging in icloud
I have options to synchronize several Outlook Items with icloud.
    Mail, contacts, calendar, etc.
The questions is to what outlook profile icloud control panel will connect to synchronize.
I am asking because on this PC, I have 3 profiles -> all with differnt contacts, and calendar items.
Each profile has a different name.
iCloud Control Panel simply says "contacts" -> Outlook ==> which profile in outlook.
    Thank you

Under "tools", "Options" , "applications" on my computer there isn't a "mailto". so these instructions don't work. Any other ideas?

  • What tag format does iTunes use?

I'm still uploading my library. I've gotten to my compilation albums. These are old. Like, 15 years old. The track reads album/song name/artist/year. When I import these the title stays the same; iTunes isn't sorting the information into its different fields. Since Sony's Walkman did, I'm guessing that the tags that iTunes can read is different.
I did a search for tag converters and found a whole bunch of stuff but I'm apprehensive about downloading something without knowing its reputation. Can someone suggest a tag converter or at the very least tell me which tag to convert to (so I make a better formed decision).
    Thanks,
    sws

For MP3 files, iTunes writes tags in ID3v2.2 using UCS-2 encoding by default, but converting them to ID3v2.3 (UCS-2 encoding) and ID3v2.4 (which uses UTF-8 encoding) is possible via its "Advanced" > "Convert ID3 Tags" toolbar menu. If both ID3v2.x and ID3v1.x tags are in a file, iTunes ignores the ID3v1.x tags.
I've used both ID3v2.2 and 2.3 and they both work.
I've just switched from PC (Windows) to Mac so I haven't yet tested any mp3 tag editors.
My advice is for you to test one or two to see how they work.

What exact steps did you take to be able to open your ROME file within Illustrator?
