PCD Filter using RFC call

does any body has done PCD filtering by reading filter attribute using RFC?
I have created one CountryFilter that read country information from RFC. I am using Java connector Framework to connect to RFC. It is working fine but my concern is about performance. I have put some debug message in R/3 function module. and what I have noticed is that RFC is called 7 times to filter one page
_Does any body have any idea that what is the good practice? Is it really good idea to use RFC call in Filtering PCD content.?_
My code looks like below
java code looks like below
class CountryFilterFactory
method getObjectInstance()
calling RFC and getting Country value from R/3 system
return filterexpression
I have also put debug message in getObjectInstance method of factory class. and I also noticed that getObjectInstance() method is also called several times.
Thanks
Chetan Patel.

HI AVIK SANYAL
I don't understand what you want to say. I have made seperate java clas to call RFC. But as getObjectInstance is calling so many time so RFC .....I don't know anything about storing the value in session. Can you please tell me in detail how to do that
Thanks
Chetan.

    ->IDataUtil.getIDataArray function (can't work properly using RFC CALL)( I think it's the source of problem)
    I use the SAP Business Connector Developer(4.7) to get data from db2.
    and I create a JAVA service in th BC named writeData,
    the most important snippet shown below.
      // Get IDataCursor to manipulate pipeline
      IDataCursor idcPipeline = pipeline.getCursor();
      // If the value is not an IData[], returns null.
      IData[] recordListIn = IDataUtil.getIDataArray( idcPipeline, "ORICONTENT" );
      idcPipeline.first( "CHECKEDDATE" );
      String checkedDate  = (String) idcPipeline.getValue();
      idcPipeline.first( "CPYCOD" );
      String cpycod= (String) idcPipeline.getValue();
       /* if ( recordListIn == null )
              errMsg += "No Input Data";
              recLen=0;
      }else{
            recLen= recordListIn.length;
      try{
         recLen= recordListIn.length;
      catch(Exception ed){
         errMsg += "\r\nExceptionIn: " + ed.getMessage();
         recLen=0;
      In BC, the variable recLen can get the record list length normally, but if i call the function in the SAP,
    the system throw an exception, the ed.getMessage() return value NULL.
      I think the problem which the rfc can't work properly is that the method IDataUtil.getIDataArray execute unnormal.
      I have set value to ORICONTENT(record list) in SAP, and it can return the record that i have set to the SAP System,
    and in the java service,  I have return another record list creating using the following spippet, It can work normally.
    com.wm.app.b2b.server.DBConnection db
            =new com.wm.app.b2b.server.JDBCConnection(driverString,userName,
                    userPwd);
              com.wm.util.Values ida= db.execSQL(selectSql);
              idcPipeline.insertAfter("OUTDATAREC", ida );
              db.close();
    I have tried some adjustments, but nothing can work.
    The reason That I use one jave service instead of standard flow services is I have to transfer data to more than two db2 servers, and I have to keep the consistency.
    Attached please find the SAP test page (using se37) and the java service code.
    May you kindly help me to solve this problem, I don't know the real reason, and which is very emergent, but i can't changed Priority(If I changed it ,the page is unuseful).
    Additional,I have added some code shown below,
    idcPipeline.first( "ORICONTENT" );
    java.lang.Object curObj = idcPipeline.getValue();
    if (curObj == null)
    errMsg +=" object is null ";
    else{
    errMsg +=" object isnt null ";
    try{
    recordListIn=(IData[])curObj;
    } catch(Exception ed){
    errMsg += " ExceptionOBj: " + ed.getMessage();
    recLen=0;
    In BC, everything is ok. but call the function in the sap, Show the following informatin:
    Object isnt null
    ExceptionOBj: com.wm.util.Table

    Hi, Mei Xie
    you mentioned 'In BC, everything is ok. but call the function in the sap, Show the following informatin: ....', I think the return value of RFC is null.
    have you tried to add a try catch around the RFC call, like following:
    try {
      IDataCursor idcPipeline = pipeline.getCursor();
    } catch (Exception ...)
    I'm not familiar with jave, only worked on C#, but I think try to catch the exception on RFC call is worth doing. Maybe it will descript some information around the problem.
    By the way, can you tell me which RFC/BAPI you are calling?
    I don't know what 'In BC, everything is ok.' mean. I have no experience on BC, only used dotnet connector. So can you explain how you use BC for me?
    thanks

  • RFC call  - issue

    Hi all,
        I have a issue in makeing RFC call to a function module . The scenario is , i have a custom built transactions which in turn call few standard transactions in one server(A) and i want to open these transactions from another server(B) using RFC calls and hence i made a remote enabled function module in server(A) and i called this function module from server(B) using destination. But the transaction that i call inturn call another standard transaction in  its code which in turn call another standard transaction using the statement "LEAVE TO TRANSACTION" . Because of this the RFC connectivity is getting disconnected.
       Hence i made a asynchronous call by using the statement
       call function "xxxx" destination 'd' performing new task 't1' .
       This worked fine & i was able to execute the transaction. But this asynchronous call has destroyed the 2EE server process on the ITS . But with other normal RFc calls everything is running fine .
       What should i do now coz this asynchronous call is killing the performance and server. Can anyone suggest me anyother approach.
    Thanks & regards,
    Rajbarath

    Hi,
    In SM59 Check if Radio button for Trusted System is YES (Selected). Then it should not ask even after that if it asks then provide the password in Logon details in Logon and Security Tab available in SM59 for your Destination System.
    Thanks,

  • Invoke MII Transaction thru RFC Call from SAP

    Hi,
    We want to get the data from Oracle DB table thru MII (12.0.2).
    We need to use RFC call from SAP to MII.
    Is it possible to invoke the MII transaction thru RFC by setting in Message Listener?
    We have used iDoc messages but not tried with RFC.
    How to do that?
    Regards,
    Senthil

    I feel MII doesn't have anything equivalent to RFC in ECC. You may try web services in an ABAP program
    Hope the article below helps you

  • Credit Card Encryption through RFC calls to third party software

    Dear All,
       I am working on credit card encryption in CRM. At our firm, we have SAP R/3 which is integrated with third party server for performing credit card encryption using RFC calls. We want to perform similar thing in SAP CRM. I was looking into SAP standard mechanism to perform encryption and it seems they use class CL_PCA_SECURITY -> External Encryption to encrypt credit card. Are there any BADIs available for me to change behaviour of this call and call our listeners (for third party server) instead of what standard SAP is calling. Here is what in the code:
    call C function 'SSFENVELOPE'
      CALL 'SSF_ABAP_SERVICE'                                 "#EC CI_CCALL
           ID 'OPCODE'             FIELD   SSF_OPCODES-ENVELOPE
           ID 'SECTOOLKIT'         FIELD   SSFTOOLKIT
           ID 'STRFORMAT'          FIELD   STR_FORMAT
           ID 'STRFORMATL'         FIELD   STR_FORMAT_L
           ID 'BINENC'             FIELD   B_INENC
           ID 'IOSPEC'             FIELD   IO_SPEC
           ID 'OSTRINPUTDATAL'     FIELD   OSTR_INPUT_DATA_L
           ID 'STRPAB'             FIELD   STR_PAB
           ID 'STRPABL'            FIELD   STR_PAB_L
           ID 'STRPABPASSWORD'     FIELD   STR_PAB_PASSWORD
           ID 'STRPABPASSWORDL'    FIELD   STR_PAB_PASSWORD_L
           ID 'OSTRENVELOPEDDATAL' FIELD   OSTR_ENVELOPED_DATA_L
           ID 'CRC'                FIELD   CRC
           ID 'OSTRINPUTDATA'      FIELD   OSTR_INPUT_DATA-SYS
           ID 'RECIPIENTLIST'      FIELD   RCPTAB-SYS
           ID 'OSTRENVELOPEDDATA'  FIELD   OSTR_ENVELOPED_DATA-SYS
           ID 'STRSYMENCRALG'      FIELD   STR_SYM_ENCR_ALG
           ID 'STRSYMENCRALGL'     FIELD   STR_SYM_ENCR_ALG_L.

    Vivek,
    While it may be technically possible to accomplish what you are suggesting (leveraging the encryption functionality provided by your third-party server) I would recommend strongly that you consider a token-based solution instead.  You can learn more about tokenization on this [blog|/people/eric.bushman4/blog/2009/01/02/tokenization-as-a-means-of-securing-credit-card-numbers ].
    There are many reasons why a token-based solution is superior to using application specific encryption (as outlined in the blog), but specifically in the case you describe where an SAP CRM and SAP R/3 are involved there is one specific reason to consider:
    When order data is replicated between SAP CRM and SAP R/3 the systems will attempt to decrypt the credit card numbers prior to passing the data and therefore the RAW card number will be stored in the middleware logs.  This is especially true when using SAP's native credit card encryption logic in the CRM and R/3-ECC applications.
    For example, let's say a user enters a credit card as the form of payment during Order Creation in CRM.  At Order Save the system will send the credit card information to your third-party server for an authorization attempt and the results will be returned to CRM.  As the Order is saved and committed to the CRM database the standard SAP encryption functionality can be leveraged to encrypt the card data.  Based on your middleware configuration, eventually the Order data (including the credit card details) will be sent to the R/3 or ECC system.  In order to do so the CRM system will first decrypt the card number meaning that the CRM middleware logs will contain RAW card numbers.  When the Order is created in R/3 or ECC the native credit card encryption functionality in R/3 or ECC could be used to encrypt the card number prior to the Order being stored in the database.
    Should you choose to use a third-party server you may find, depending on how the third-party vendor's logic works in SAP, that you must utilize a BADI to decrypt the card number in CRM so that the CRM middleware has a RAW card and so that when the Orders is saved in the R/3 or ECC system it can be encrypted again with the third-party vendor solution.  In either case the RAW card number is present in all systems for some period of time and potentially stored in logs thus exposing your systems to risk and greater PCI audit scrutiny.

  • Call remote function on a satellite system using RFC target sys option

    Hi all,
    I am on the Java stack and I would like to call the ABAP stack of a statellite system. I can create a JCo connection on this system directly but for security reason I am not allowed to do that. I would like to call this system through the ABAP stack of my machine (I am in dual stack environment).
    - How can I use RFC target sys (available in SE37 for Remote-Enabled functions) with my JCo connection?
    - Or, is there a generic function which can call all other functions on a remote system (still using RFC target sys)?
    Many thanks,
    Stephan

    Siddhesh - thank you for the link; the blogs by Thomas are required reading as far as I am concerned.
    Hi Raja;
    <i> do you mean another ABAP system (was6.40)?
    and from here using another FM you call the 4.6c
    system RFC ?</i>
    Yes, that is what we are doing.  We are calling a web service from an Intranet form to the 6.40 system that, in turn will call the 4.6C system and pass the data back to the Intranet form (through 6.40)
    <i> may be you could pass the RFC destination as import
    parameter to the 6.40 RFC and use the same will the
    call to 4.6C RFC from the 6.40 RFC</i>
    That would work, but it would be more beneficial to just use the function module on the 6.40 system as a proxy to the function on 4.6c and not have to enter code in it each time.
    I had thought of writing just one function module in the 6.40 system that could dynamically call any different function module in 4.6c (based on the input parameters), but since were are trying to accomplish SOA, we need visiblity to each web service (ergo function module).
    If it's not possible, that is OK I am just hoping someone had found a way to pull this off.
    Thanks!
    John

  • Problem passing a table parameter in rfc call using the function control

    I try to pass a Table as parameter to a Function Module using the SAP.Functions library (part of SAP frontend controls) from a Visual Basic (VBA) program.
    The function module has been verified to work when invoked from SAP FrontEnd Function Builder.
    The SAP RFC Control is created with
    Set sapFunctions=CreateObject("SAP.Functions")
    Following code snippet shows how I attempt to set exports and add a table row before calling the function module:
    sapFunctions.Connection = sapConnection
    Set sapMaterialUpd = sapFunctions.Add("Z_SD_BAPI_SALES_DATA_UPD")
    With sapMaterialUpd
    <i>'set exports</i>
         .Exports("PA_GLPUPDLEVEL") = "S"
         .Exports("PA_VKORG") = "FI14"
    <i>'append table row</i>
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD").AppendRow
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "VKORG") = "FI14"
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "MATNR") = "W_3100"
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "DATBI") = "99991231"
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "DATAB") = "20041231"
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "KBETR") = "2222"
         .Tables("IT_SALES_DATA_UPD")(1, "KONWA") = "EUR"
    End With
    <i>'call the function module</i>
    If sapMaterialUpd.Call() = True Then
        <i>'do something with the return tables here...</i>Else
        Debug.Print sapMaterialUpd.Exception
    End If
    The Call() returns <b>FALSE</b> and the exception is <b>"SYSTEM_FAILURE"</b>. The connection also resets.
    The local logfile that the control generates shows that an exception occurs at the point of the call:

    Seen next code snippet. If the Table object is not touched, the function call goes through without any problems:
    sapFunctions.Connection = sapConnection
    Set sapMaterialUpd = sapFunctions.Add("Z_SD_BAPI_SALES_DATA_UPD")
    With sapMaterialUpd
    'set exports
        .Exports("PA_GLPUPDLEVEL") = "S"
        .Exports("PA_VKORG") = "FI14"
        'do <b>not</b> append a table row, for testing only ;-)</b>
    End With
    <i>'call the function module</i>
    If sapMaterialUpd.Call() = True Then
    <i>    'do something with the return tables here...</i>
    Else
        Debug.Print sapMaterialUpd.Exception
    End If
    This code works perfectly when calling the function. It returns TRUE and behaves normally. The function module returns descriptive response text in a table telling that the table was empty, according to the BAPI implementation.
    So is there something special needed here <i>after</i> appending the table row and <i>before</i> making the Call to properly attach the table as a parameter for the function module?
    Can this be a bug in the SAP RFC Control? The version of the wdtfuncs.ocx is 6206.6.45.54.
    Any hints are welcome!

  • Trigger an RFC call to ECC from PI using BPM

    HEllo Experts,
    This is my first time in ccBPM and require your expertise in gaining some insights onto calling an RFC FM using ccBPM.
    I am typically implementing the scenario as it is mentioned in this blog: /people/mitesh.parekh/blog/2008/12/01/receiving-aleaud-as-acknowledgment-in-ccbpm in order to generate acknowledgements from ECC.
    I have created the IR and ID and I am successfully able to exceute the BPM till step2. Step 3 is the ABAP mapping part for which i have specified teh required properties and Operation mapping too.
    My concern is that how do i proceed from Step 4 i,e how do i trigger this RFC call to ECC and receive it in BPM again?
    Thanks in advance,
    Elizabeth.

    I am developing a scenario which looks like this MDM ->PI ( BPM)  -> ECC.
    Now the Integration process that I am developing is with reference to blog http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/12249. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
    I am posting MATMAS from MDM which is received in first step(receive step) of this BPM.
    2nd step (Send step - BPM) will send this MATMAS05 Idoc to ECC and Pi will have a message id generated for this message.
    3rd step of BPM (ABAP mapping) - which will read the actual PI Idoc number from system tables based on the message id from step 2.
    4th step: Idoc number retrieved is to be sent in the requset message of RFC ZALEAUD4XI.
    5th step: Response of ZALEAUD4XI RFC is to be received in PI and sent for further processing.
    Do i need a mapping between the requset output of ABAP mapping and the input RFC requset message of step4?
    Thanks,
    Elizabeth

  • How to Use synchronous RFC calls during test run for remote accesses

    there is a Setting for the usage of RFC accesses from a tested system
    using eCATT.
    'X' - Use asynchronous RFC calls during test run for remote accesses
    ' ' - Use synchronous RFC calls during test run for remote accesses
    I developed an eCATT as following :
      SAPGUI ( SAPGUI_1 , Target_system_1 ).
      SAPGUI ( SAPGUI_2 , Target_system_2 ).
    My question is how to run the eCATT in a synchronous RFC calls
    PS: I do not want to change the Target_system to the same one in the
    above script of ecatt.Because I need to run it in 2 different Target
    systems sometime.
    for example, I give a Target_system_3 when run this eCATT
    I want the SAPGUI_1 and SAPGUI_2 run the Target_system_3 but not the

    This is the standard option value. Asynchronous are not the standard way and used only for very special purposes.

    The commands will be executed in sequence. So each call will be synchronously replayed against TS1 and TS2.
    What is you issue with this standard procedure?

    If it is at sender side, you can call the rfc function module in UPADTE task .
    Sample Code:
    CALL FUNCTION <FM Name> IN UPDATE TASK EXPORTING ......
    If it is at receiver side, you can specify the QoS as EO(Exactly once in the sender adapter)

  • To call webmethods using RFC(Remote Function Module)

    Hi Sap Group.
    i have got a situation on how to call the webmethods using Remote Function Module ,i know that there should be rfc destination created in sm59 already,so can i use the  same existing rfc destination which was used to call webmethods with another scenario in my interface.
    can anybody help me in this.
    regards.
    Varma

    Hi Naina,
    Normally RFC are synchronous, they do have return parameter as export parameter.
    If return parameter is missing then , you can create Wrapper RFC.
    Wrapper RFC:
    It is nothing but you just  create BAPI in SE37 transaction with Return parameter as export parameter and make it remote enabled by clicking on Radio button.
    Under source code, CALL BAPI which XI has to call.
    Thats it!
    I hope this helps.
    Let me know if any help required.

  • Can a report in ERP called from CRM system using RFCs??

    Hi All,
    Please let me know if this is possible, if so , how?
    Can a report in ERP called from CRM system using RFCs??
    Thanks
    Siva

    Yes, you should make an RFC function in ERP and inside the
    function you can call the report with a SUBMIT. Then in CRM you can call the RFC function...

  • Locking tables using a RFC Call

    Hello,
    I am trying to lock a Table in R/3 from BW by calling a Enqueue Function Module which is remote enabled in R/3. The BW Call to R/3 is successful but the table is not getting locked. I wanted to know if this is something that can be done.
    I have an assumption once the locking is done in R/3 the connection in R/3 is closed and its getting unlocked automatically.
    Please Post  your answers if you guys have faced a similar situation.
    Rajeev

    I have an assumption once the locking is done in R/3 the connection in R/3 is closed and its getting unlocked automatically.
    Your probably right, when making an RFC call, the locking done within, would only last during the execution of that call.

  • Data is not getting updated in table using RFC

    Hi Experts,
    In my scenario, I am calling one RFC using RFC receiver channel. After running scenario, channel is showing status that RFC executed successfully. But when I am checking tables in R/3 system, data is not getting updated.
    Moreover , when we tried to execute the RFC manually in R/3 system, that time data uploaded into table successfully.
    Could anybody tell me what would the reason that data not uploading into table when we send it through XI.
    Regards,
    Sari

    HI Sari,
    as you have scenario with RFC receiver.. and as you mentioned that it not updating tables when run through PI but when you execute RFC manually tables got updates.. then following are the options you can check..
    -- if you check RFC communication channel and if everything ok on then.. this means that your RFC is getting triggered successfully..but as you said tables are not updated.. for this you can go to SXMB_MONI and check the log take payload after mapping.. and compare it with the input when you try to execute it manually.. I think the input when you try manually and input to RFC when you try through PI is different and that is causing the Problem.. you will be able to see the difference in input then check.. I think the problem is data and not RFC communication channel..so by using this you will come to know difference
    -- else if possible configure your ID in PI in RFC Receiver and then check and put breakpoint on ABAP side.. so that when PI will hit RFC you will get it in debug mode and able to see what is going wrong..
    Thanks,
    Bhupesh
