Trigger an RFC call to ECC from PI using BPM

HEllo Experts,
This is my first time in ccBPM and require your expertise in gaining some insights onto calling an RFC FM using ccBPM.
I am typically implementing the scenario as it is mentioned in this blog: /people/mitesh.parekh/blog/2008/12/01/receiving-aleaud-as-acknowledgment-in-ccbpm in order to generate acknowledgements from ECC.
I have created the IR and ID and I am successfully able to exceute the BPM till step2. Step 3 is the ABAP mapping part for which i have specified teh required properties and Operation mapping too.
My concern is that how do i proceed from Step 4 i,e how do i trigger this RFC call to ECC and receive it in BPM again?
Thanks in advance,
Elizabeth.

I am developing a scenario which looks like this MDM ->PI ( BPM)  -> ECC.
Now the Integration process that I am developing is with reference to blog http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/12249. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
I am posting MATMAS from MDM which is received in first step(receive step) of this BPM.
2nd step (Send step - BPM) will send this MATMAS05 Idoc to ECC and Pi will have a message id generated for this message.
3rd step of BPM (ABAP mapping) - which will read the actual PI Idoc number from system tables based on the message id from step 2.
4th step: Idoc number retrieved is to be sent in the requset message of RFC ZALEAUD4XI.
5th step: Response of ZALEAUD4XI RFC is to be received in PI and sent for further processing.
Do i need a mapping between the requset output of ABAP mapping and the input RFC requset message of step4?
Thanks,
Elizabeth

  • Optimize the performance of the RFC call between ECC and CRM

    Hi,
We are planning to extract sales orders, sales activites and service orders to dispaly it on the  PDF factsheet of the account.
As of now, the PDF factsheet takes a long time to retrieve the data from ECC to CRM. Can you please suggest us on ways to  optimize the performance of the RFC call between ECC and CRM.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vamsi.

    Hello,
[SAP Note 636906 |https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/636906]is quite useful here.
Many times, the performance is poor due to function module CRM_CCKPT_EXPORTSUMMARY. This function module gets the customer number, the sales organization and the fact sheet view. If in CRM customizing, you use complete view (001), then all the views in ERP including all the info blocks will be retrieved, which will cause performance issue.
To solve the issue, please use a limited view to retrieve the data from ERP - especially a view, which does not contain info block 013.
    Hope it helps

  • Calling Java API from ABAP using JCo (Part 2)

    Hello,
This is an additional question to thread Calling Java API from ABAP using JCo
Has anyone managed to get the input parameter value
    input.getString("REQUTEXT")
that is being passed from ABAP?
If yes, what kind of setting you need to do? Because when I execute, it has no value.
Thus, the below ECHOTEXT parameter returns blank value:
    output.setValue(input.getString("REQUTEXT"),"ECHOTEXT");
When I debug by printing the below line, the input XML is indeed without value:
    System.out.println(input.toXML());
Anybody knows how to pass input variable from ABAP to JAVA using JCo?
    rgs,
    hiroshi

    Hallo Hiroshi,
as far as I can see, you are doing it the right way. The problem might be that the ABAP program does not fill in this parameter because something went wrong in the SAP System.
Have you tried setting a breakpoint (an HTTP session - remote breakpoint) and tried checking step by step if the value is being processed and put into the REQUTEXT field?
    Bye,

  • Trigger a program in ECC from BI using a process chain with out Program

    Hi,
How can we trigger a program which is in ECC system from BI using a process chain with out writing any program.
is it possible? if yes how can we achieve this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Madhu

    Madhu,
Not possible, indeed need event or Remote Function Call using an ABAP program.
Other option would be to use a 3rd party tool like Control-M to run programs/jobs on whatever system in your landscape (but requires investments of course).

  • Can we call brfplus (ecc) from brfplus (crm) ?

    Hi Guys,
We have two brms connectors in brfplus - Netweaver BRM or External
can I use the external one to call brfplus (let's say on ecc) from a brfplus on crm ?
Or should we use a different approach ?
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Michal Krawczyk

When talking about a central BRFplus system you have to distinguish between design time and runtime.
With DSM you have one design time and can deploy decision services to several systems (without transport) which ensures an optimal governance of your business rules in your whole landscape. You don't need to transport the rule systems. But here the generated code is executed in your local systems: ERP, CRM...
Does a central BRFplus system make sense. This is difficult to answer. Usually a decision service is called from an application (SAP standard or custom development) and so the rule system uses the data types of the system and local execution guarantees performance.
But is possible, that a decision service needs input from other systems (data or calculations from otehr decision services). Such scenarios should be seen like SOA scenarios exposing their functionality as a set of services.
So my question is why you want centralization. Do you want a central development, governance and deployment? Then DSM is the answer and established a central source of truth executed on various systems. Or do you have many decision services on various systems working together in a single service call? In this case you tie the systems together in terms of releases, availability and so on. This has its costs and you should have good reasons for it.

  • CALL a report from WDA using SUBMIT to sap-spool

    Hi,
I need to call a report from one of the methods of a WDA application.
The out of this report is a sapscript. I want show it in WDA (PDF).

                         and return.
        if sy-calld eq ''.
          message 'err' type 'E'.
        else.
If i execute this code in WDA, the sy-calld never is equal 'X'.
But if i execute it in program (SE38) the sy-calld is 'X'.
How i can call the program 'hbrcced0' in WDA ?
    Cheers,
    Silvio Galery

    Hi Silvio,
a submit REPORT to spool does work from WDA.
ONLY when "and return" is used.
You have that, so it should work.
Note you had print immediate on, so it will be output on printer,
and not available to read after the call.
(which option was the keep after print?, I would have to check docu)
The sy-calld will be set to X  inside the REPORT when it is running.
After the submit has run back inside WDA it is of course reset to space again.
    Cheers
    Phil.

  • Calling Web Service from CRM using proxy

    Hi all,
I'm facing a problem trying to call a web service from CRM (WAS 620) via XI 3.0. The response that XI recieves from the web service contains SOAP Envelope, and the mapping fails because of it. I built the proxy manually, because if I load WSDL the proxy generation in CRM generates error that sais that external definition coudn't be used.
Is there any way to remove SOAP envelope from the response while mapping?
Is it possible to call web service from WAS 620?
    Thanks!!!!
    Anya.

    Hi Manish,
SOAP adapter does pass the message to XI (this message contains SOAP envelope although XI expects to get message without it), and during the mapping step i get "Runtime Exception in Message-Mapping transformatio~".
I suppose it's because i created proxy manually. I did so because when i imported WSDL, and tried to generate proxy in CRM, i got an error message that said that proxy couldn't be generated because external definitions are only allowed in XI 3. But my XI version is 3.0! And when I generate the same proxy in my R/3 system that is installed on WAS 640, it works.
    What can I do?
    Cheers,
    Anya.

  • Calling stored procedure from VB using OraOLEDB.Oracle

I have a simple stored procedure with two parameters:
    PROCEDURE Test1(
         pOutRecords OUT tCursorRef,
         pIdNumber IN NUMBER);
    where tCursorRef is REF CURSOR.
(This procedure is part of a package with REF CURSOR declared in there)
And I have two database schemas: AppOwner and AppUser.
The above stored procedure is owned by AppOwner, but I have to execute this stored procedure from AppUser schema. I have created a private synonym and granted the neccessary privileges for AppUser schema to execute the package in the AppUser schema.
When I ran the above procedure from VB using ADO and OraOLEDB.Oracle.1 driver, I got the following error when connecting to the AppUser schema:
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'TEST1'
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored
but when I was connecting to the AppOwner schema, everything is running correctly without errors.
Also, when I switch to the microsoft MSDAORA.1 driver, I can execute the above procedure without any problems even when connecting to the AppUser schema.
I got this error only when I am trying to execute a stored procedure with an output parameter. All other procedures with only input parameters have no problems at all.
Do you know the reason for that? Thanks!

    Hi Nilesh,
From the error i think that the error is with the hostname.
Please enter the the Application Server IP/Hostname.
If you are loggin to SAP System "XX1" from SAP GUI. Then click the change Item tab and see Application server name/IP let say "XX2" for hostname or "xx.xx.xx.xx" for IP.
    Replace <i>srv[0] = new Server("gateway","sapgw00","JCOSERVER01",repository);</i>
    with <i>srv[0] = new Server("XX2","sapgw00","JCOSERVER01",repository);</i>
If App Server is IP then replace with
    <i>srv[0] = new Server("xx.xx.xx.xx","sapgw00","JCOSERVER01",repository);</i>
Let me know if it is throwing any error.

    Hi,
We are calling an java/ejb methods from VB using WebLogic JCOM 8.1 SP2. But
using JCOM, we are getting a error Permission denied when called from VB. We think
that we should update pathch jintegra 2.0 or 2.1 in WebLogic 8.1.2 the to solve
this issue, because we faced the same problen "permission denied" when we used
JINTEGRA(third party software). Once we installed the JINTEGRA 2.1 it solved the
    issue.
So, can anyone help on regard to this issue of "Permission denied" in WebLogic
    JCOM 8.1 SP2.
    Thanks & Regards
    Raghu

I too am experiencing the jCOM error: "Run-time error '70': Permission Denied". The problem appears to be related to a Microsoft Security Patch KB835732 (MS04-011 which, as you indicated, has been fixed in J-Integra v2.1 (FYI, jCOM 8.1 is based on J-Integra 1.5.4, see J-Integra/jCOM versions.
Did you ever get a resolution concerning 8.1 SP2? 8.1 SP3 is available now but I don't see any mention of jCOM updates in the WebLogic 8.1 What's New documention. I can't immediately upgrade (trying to stay on same version as a few other developers I work with) but I am hoping it is resolved in SP3.

  • RFC Call - Retracting data from BI/BPS/SEM to ECC

    Hello Gurus,
Since there is no standard retarctors available for SKF and New GL in BPS-SEM we developed a custom retractor.
We call a standard BAPI to post SKF and a BDC to post New G/L.
When we call the RFC function it asks for the user id and password to login into ECC system.
How to handle the SAP log on screen in the program.
Do we pass the userid and password through the ABAp program ?
Please let me know how to handle the logon screen in the foreground and also in the background.
Again this program will be executed in the background .
    Thanks for your help guys

This is a duplicate post. Please close the other one.
You should be able to set up a RFC connection in SM59 with a generic userid and password embedded. Give the userid the authorizations to process this and not much else.

  • RFC Call to ECC system

    Hello Friends,
Need input from you with regards to the Problem/Solution mentioned below:
Our requirement is that during the load of FI data from our Centralised ECC System, we want to retrieve the Billing document details from a new ECC System. Since we need only the Billing Doument and Count of Item data from this new ECC System we dont want to proceed with the regular way of Establising Source System connection and creating new Datasources etc.
The Solution we have thought is to set up a RFC Connection and Execute a Function Module during the Routine execution in BW. Thie Function Module will be executd in the new ECC system and will retrieve the required Billing details.
If you have faced similar situation and implemented any other solution then please let me know.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Regards,
    Nitin S.

    Hi Nitin ,
The solution sounds good . The only problem which i found in this is suppose for any reason your RFC does not work for a day or two . Then the FI data will be loaded without billing information . It will be a difficult task to reload the FI data again for the missing Billing Information .
I assume that your FI postings are happening in Centralized ECC while correspong Billing Docs are in New ECC . So the two ECCs have a RFC conncection between them :
Following approaches can be taken :
    1) As per your solution you are going to call the RFC in BI . Instead of doing it in BI , do the same thing in the enahncement of the FI Datasource i.e make a call from centralized ECC to your new ECC . This will affect the extraction performance , but your loading performance will be improved .
    2) Is there a possibility that you can flow your billing documents to your centralized ECC and then do a datasource enhacement of the FI datasource .
Hope the above reply was helpful.

    Hi all,
    I have found the problem.
The mapping to the RFC request was not creating the correct namespace prefix in the root xml element.
I have downloaded the file rfcnormalizer.jar from SAP note 730870 and used it in my interface mapping.  It solved the problem.
