PCK without backend connection makes sense?

Hi folks,
I’m preparing to start a new project with a scenario like this:
Web services <-> XI <-internet-> PCK (R/3 out of our landscape)
Initially, the aim of this project it was only to do the developments between web services and XI, the other part (XI <-> PCK+R/3) is intended to be done after by a customer consultant. The reason is because we don’t know which entities will adhere to our B2B scenario; in the future every entity will speak with our XI.
But now the things changed a little bit, my customer wants a PCK without R/3 connection only for tests proposes. I never worked with PCK and I don’t know if it makes sense a PCK without a backend system.
Can I emulate an import of RFCs structures to test my scenario? Or either, the PCK has any “test message” like XI has in RWB?
Thanks in advance,
Ricardo.

Two more things:
PCK supports IDoc? I guess not because is a J2EE standalone and no ABAP satck is available.
Can I use rooting rules (Xpath) like we do with XI Receiver Determination?
Once again, thanks for the help
Ricardo.

  • How to sleep, without sleeping?  make sense?

So i just bought a macbook pro and used to have a dell with windows xp. I know in xp you can log off or shut your laptop and remain on the programs you were before. example: logged onto aim with a away message and you shut your laptop and come back later to check messages. How would i do this on my macbook pro? If i shut it, it closes all my programs. Same with sleep and log off. HELP!

Normally the functionality you're talking about is actually a combination of a few things. First, the display is turned off, and second you're no longer automatically logged in when you wake the computer up.
Easy way to do this without extra hardware is to simply turn off auto-login and have a password come up when you come back from sleeping or the screen saver. Then, for those times you want to turn your Mac laptop's display off, press ControlShiftEject. This turns it off automatically but everything else is still running.
However this doesn't let you close the lid and if someone comes back before your screensaver shows up they can jump on without it logging in.
Though, if you are mostly talking about so you can switch from user to user, enable fast user switching.

    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router

  • How much it makes sense AIA FP without AIA Error Handlers?

If we decide not to use AIA Error Handling, how much do you rate AIA FP out of 5?
How much it makes sense AIA FP without AIA Err Handler?
And should we go ahead without AIA Error Handling?
Our requirement is litle tricky (can be achieved with some word arounds) to be achieved using AIA EH so we decided to use our own Email handler BPEL to send Error Mails. what challenged we may face going ahead and what things we should keep in mind designing the custom BPEL. Also If we use AIA EH
Please suggest me the best way you think...
We are using SOA Suite 11g
Edited by: panks on Jul 12, 2011 6:18 PM

I even feel the same AIA EH is significant part of AIA.
Here we faced some issues which obviously can be overcame by some changes in prebuilt solution..
    1. AIA EH sents Text mail no HTML template I was able to find
    2. Role is not role in 11g. it is user :( This is very dis appointing if we want to assign multiple people to a same role. I will have to put them into a dist Mail List. Migration from one instance of Web logic to another for UI messaging(notification channel) is also a challenge. In 10g It was more easy by putting all these in Jazn. I have no Idea same can be achived here in 11g.
    3. Error code/Err Msg/Corrective Action: we want customized Error codes and Error messages even when we trigger the CompositeJavaAction from Fault Policy. It was Over riding the values of Fault notification in Composite Java action and Mail is sent. We have no control of customising the Error codes/ Error Message if triggered from Java Action. I will have to write again our own Java Action for this.
I got some where in Doc that some codes and custom texts can be stored in a Resource Class. but again this is overhead to decompile the class file update it and again compile it :) . I have no Idea what led them to put these Texts in a Class :) they have DVM, AIA Config Xref still they used Class for storing hardcoded values which they say are configurable (but how? decompile -> change ->compile??)..

  • Play iTunes purchased content without internet connection on Apple TV

I have this issue, If I am not connected to the internet, I can play my purchased content into iTunes on my Mac, but I cannot play it on my apple TV. as soon as I try that it attempts to connect to the internet and eventually it tells me the device is not authorized to play content. Now the apple TV is authorized to play the content just fine when I have internet, but for some reason it doesn't when I am not connected to the internet. Again this is content shared through Home sharing from my iTunes library.
As well I have only tried it with movies and music that I have purchased, not with rented content. So It would only make sense for me to be able to play my purchased content from my iTunes library regardless wether or not I am connected to the internet.
    Any ideas?

Sep 11 2014: No one replied to this (or posted a response to any of the similar queries) and I would like to have had this information earlier this week so I am posting for all future inquiries.
History: Internet not available for two days (switching providers). I tried to stream from my MacBook Pro through appleTV to my home television; and I received a "not authorized" error message for any iTunes PURCHASED content.  Also tried to AirPlay from the laptop to the TV and content is not viewable.  Spoke with the always helpful and amenable apple support tech and...
You CANNOT stream from/through appleTV or airplay from your computer to a home TV (or any unauthorizable device) without an internet connection.  Period.
Apple has determined that it's okay to view iTunes-purchased content on your 17" laptop or 21.5" iMac or iPad or iPhone or any device not connected to the internet (e.g. on a plane, etc.) BUT viewing on a 21.5" 3rd party television would be a problem.  It does not make sense of course.  And is especially vexing since the old appleTV also STORED content which meant you could watch without an internet connection.  And I trust that apple will quickly resolve this software/programming "problem" since some day the internet will crash for long enough for apple to be bombarded with a LOT of very angry customers who will not understand why they cannot play the movies they purchased on their home televisions.  apple, what are you trying to prevent?  I can take my laptop to a local bar and screen RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK on the bar's 105" monitor (as long as I can connect to the internet) but I cannot watch the film at home?

    Hi There!
The camera is a Panasonic Lumix. I don't have a USB card reader. I did try and different port although not a different cable.
I did remember one additional thing. I plugged my camera in at work to a PC. It was after that, when I came home, that the iPhoto wasn't working when I connected my camera to our iMac/iPhoto at home. I think this may have caused the problem.

  • GW2012 move: Does it make sense to move users to a new PO?

Moving from GW8 on OES-NW to GW2012 on OES11: Does it make sense to create new post office and move users?
We have a medium size GroupWise 8 system with a single post office holding less than 600 user accounts, 128 resources and 77 distribution lists.
Due to politics we also have a non-GroupWise external domain that contains a non-GroupWise external post office with a large number of "users".
The post office is on the primary domain.
3 secondary domains hold a GWIA and two web access agents.
I've never been real clear where the external stuff exists...
One of the web access gateways resides on an OES11 server.
The other webaccess agent and the GWIA are on OES-NW servers.
    All reside in NSS volumes.
Given the lack support for NSS volumes on Linux servers by most backup applications (including mine), I've pretty much determined that it makes sense to move my GW system to EXT3 volumes.
Even if I change backup software and stick with NSS, and even though all my data is stored on SAN arrays, from what I've read on the forums and from Danita's books, it's preferable to copy your GW system files to a new NSS volume, as opposed to just re-attaching the OES-NW LUN to the new OES11 server.
Point being, whatever I do will involve copying the entire system via dbcopy and at some point, will also involve shutting down the existing domain and PO for the last phase of the copying process.
So..., I'm contemplating the following scenario:
Create a new OES11 server with EXT3 volumes sufficient for holding my GroupWise system.
Create new GroupWise 8 domain on the server.
Promote the new domain to primary and upgrade this new domain to GroupWise 2012.
Once the new domain is upgraded, create new GW2012 post office on new server/primary domain and migrate the users, resources and distribution lists to the new post office.
In the past I've had an additional post office and had migrated a about 20-25 users to that post office.
It wasn't a terrible process, and fortunately, I didn't run into any problems with the migration of those users.
When I re-consolidated my system, moving them back was also problem free
    On the pro side:
    No downtime of entire system
    Relatively simple
Any issues in the migration process would be user-specific and would not effect the entire system.
    On the con side:
Process could take far longer, since you can't move a lot of users simultaneously.
In addition, we have a small group of users with anywhere from 40,000 to 80,000 email in their account, so I'd have to factor that into haw many users I migrate at one time.
The chance of running into a stalled migration, for whatever reason, is probably much higher than running into a problem with moving the domain and PO via dbcopy.
The unknown factors for me and my level of experience:
It's been a while since I've had multiple post offices, so I don't recall what changes the users might see with regard to distribution lists, web access or external email.

Is there any reason you think that warrants to do so?
If the system is performing normally I'd opt to stick to upgrading the current setup as is.
I'm also curious, are you intending to upgrade to 2014 after the 2012 upgrade?

Ok, that setup makes the upgrade easier. As you will start the upgrade with the primary holding the PO's... the PO's can be upgraded right after or during the domain upgrade (depending on if the MTA and POA are running on the same server).
That means you don't have to think about upgraded webaccess/GWIA connectivity issues with a lower PO version.
The external stuff are simply configurations found in the existing GroupWise domain databases. Or do you mean where those connected systems actually run?

    All reside in NSS volumes.
And the primary Domain and PO are also still on NetWare (version 6.5 SP8 I presume), correct?

Which backup application is that? With GroupWise op Linux not much NSS support is needed IMO.... as long as the files get backed up properly other metadata (rights, ownerships, etc) is irrelevant.
As for EXT3 vs NSS, when dealing with OES I always choose NSS. But that's me.
Another option could be to use XFS instead of ext3. That does perform much better, but has to be noted that it is more prone to file corruption in unexpected power loss situations.
With ext3, watch out for the scheduled filesystem check cycles at boot, that is one thing I really dislike about ext3 as disabling that check completely is not recommended and it means at least once a year the system will take an extensive amount of time to complete a (re)boot due to the check running on the ext3 filesystem. That usually pops up on you when you are not counting on it and "just quickly" want to reboot the server in a patching routine or other.

Yes, it's always good if you can start with a clean volume when transitioning from NetWare to OES.
Depending on how long you can afford to have the system down during upgrade, you can also choose the route of moving the NetWare LUN to the new OES server. Adding a second new LUN to the OES server with the needed size and initializing it with a new NSS volume and then just simply do a volume to volume copy using the cp of rsync command. As it's on the same server that can go quite quickly within an acceptable maintenance window to complete all move/upgrade steps.

Sure, though you don't necessarily have to use dbcopy... depending on what you are planning to do. An offline copy won't require it for example.
How much data are we talking about (in GB's)?

If you really want to move users.... sure. I'd again opt for upgrading the existing system.
Also, it's a good rule to have the PO's running the same GroupWise version and patchlevel before commencing user moves. Moves between PO's with a different GroupWise version can lead to issues.

If you would want to move users, for whatever reason, I'd opt to first upgrade to the latest version first, then move. There have been many enhancements and bugfixes made in the move procedure over these last couple of years.

I prefer a system upgrade over moving users. The process of moving when dealing with 100+ users, requires more effort and there are always things that need attention for a portion of the users. Also things like mobile devices can require some extra attention after having moved an account for example.
True, problems during a system upgrade can potentially affect all users. That is a factor. From the many upgrades I've done that's rarely really been an issue and problems encountered during an upgrade did not cause too much delay. Just make sure you always have a good full backup handy so you can reverse the upgrade if ever needed.

If by this you are referring to user moves and address book visibility between PO's, that should not be different to what users are seeing now. At least, the default is that within a GroupWise system all is visible throughout the system. If you have specifically set GroupWise objects to Postoffice visibility... then that would be something to check.

  • Makes sense try to combine Imac 24 inh wit G4 to work with Final Cut HD.??

Hi. I'm editing with Final Cut Express HD in my Imac 24 inch that I purchased 6 months ago. Someone offers me a G4 ( Just the desktop, not monitor), as second unit and I was thinking to buy the G4 as second unit. First thing. It makes sense to buy a G4 The Questions is: Can I run the G4 in the screen of my Imac at the same time the Imac is rendering or doing something else?. I want to see both computers running on the same screen or maybe better, sharing files and videos mostly. The reason I ask this is because the Imac is always overwhelmed by endless QTM/WMV renders and I want to have a second unit to save time and do more editing and run other programs as well. Also I wonder what I should change on the G4 (if needed) to run with FCP Pro HD express (The latest one) or work together sharing everything. Thank you very much for your suggestions and ideas.
    Julian.

Can I run the G4 in the screen of my Imac at the same time the Imac is rendering or doing something else?
Not without a second monitor to set up a tool such as ScreenRecycler.

On your Macs open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Documents & Data, then reselect that box then restart your Macs.
On the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud. Switch Documents & Data off then back on then reset the iPhone.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
See if you can open the files now without opening on the iPhone first.

  • Proxy to JMS Scenario: switch from sync to async proxy, does it makes sense?

    Hi @all,
i've implemented a sync proxy to JMS scenario that works well. Backend is ECC 6.0 and Middleware is PI 7.1.
Business Case: Run a request with a number and get a response back with a corresponding entry for the number. That means, there is always a response expected.
Now the following thing appears: the receiver system could not handle many calls at one time (200 calls are planned at each run), the calls reduces the performance. Now gys at receiver system likes to develope a buffer of 10 seconds between the requests to handle some kind of load balancing with that. That means for the request that it the response takes +10 seconds back to backend. It is also possible to handle that in SAP backend with a waiting-statement in coding, so there is no need to go from sync to async - but the customer requested us to implement this scenario in async.
JMS is always async, I know. But the Service Interfaces for Inbound and Outbound are of mode sync - so I can call my outbound Interface class in backend with Importing Output and Exporting Input.
My question is: makes it sense to go from sync to an async scenario?
And how looks the coding in backend for the response? I guess that it only makes sense to switch to async when no response entry is needed (example: for write operations).
    Thanks in Advance,
    Stefan

    > But in case of switching, what is the best way?
    > Should I implement 2 senarios? Or is it ok to switch the Inbound and Outbound Service Interface from sync to async?
I don't think you need 2 scenarios for this. Just one is enough with different RDs.
Over all in this case you have to re-create/modify the service interfaces and also you have to create 2 interface mappings. You have to also create the new inbound and outbound proxies since service interface mode will be changed. For outbound proxy the code can be reused and for inbound proxy also logic and code can be taken from your old code.

  • Trying to make sense of div tags and css

i know that i am a few years late here, but i am looking ot make the migration from using tables and switching over to div tags and css. i have watched a few tutorials on you tube and am trying to understand everything.
please tell me if this is correct.  a div tag is basically a table and css is what is used to style that div tag to meet your needs, is this a correct assumption??
if you go to my current site www.tankinz.com you can clearly see that the site is made up of tables, basically these boxes or tables contain a different item or package that a customer can click on and buy.  by using div tags and css would each of these boxes, or tables be their own div?
sorry for sounding a bit moronic but i am trying to make sense of all of this.
    please help!

Markup (html) contains elements, such as html, body, h1, h2, p, span, div and so forth. Hence a <div>-tag is part of an element; the other part being the </div>-tag.
The element structure of many web sites is basically (using HTML5 element names)
    html
         head
         body
              header
              nav
              aside
              article
              footer
These elements can be positioned and styled using style rules (css). Depending on the style rules, the above structure can take on many different styles, without ever touching the markup.
Have a look here for a simple two-column layout using the same structure as above http://www.456bereastreet.com/lab/developing_with_web_standards/csslayout/2-col/

Connect time capsule via ethernet to Mac for back-up only. Is it possible without internet connection ?

    Hi Bob,
I'm not certain the post I sent was posted correctly, as I added it as a reply to a 3-year old thread. Since this is a recently-active thread, though not specific to the issue at hand, I thought I'd post again:
Three years ago you helped me set up a roaming wireless network in my home. It's been rock-steady and I'm forever grateful to you for the time and guidance you gave me. I'd now like to swap out my AirPort Extreme base station for a time capsule. As I understand it, I should be able to unplug the base station and replace it with the TC without problem, so long as I use all the same settings on my TC... network name, security protocol, password, etc. Given the complexity of my network, I thought I should check with you first for any advice you might have. I don't want to set up a new network or make any changes to the existing one-- with the exception of using the TC in place of the AE. I'm already using Time Machine for backups. As a refresher, my current setup has the AE as base station and 3 expresses hard-wired with Ethernet connections elsewhere in my home. I have a 4th express set up wirelessly to use with my stereo system at the front of the house. All AXs are 'n's and are set up, as per your instructions, in Bridge mode to extend the existing network. I'm running the most updated version of Mavericks on my MBPro. Any suggestions you might have will be, as always, very much appreciated! Sincerely, Phyllis Sommers

  • Labwiew 8 won't start without internet connection

I have Labview 8.0 installed on a NI PXI-1050 chasis with Windows XP and Service Pack 2 installed.  The problem is that Labview will not load up (it locks up at finishing initialization) if I do not have the chasis connected to the internet via ethernet connection.  When I connect to the internet and reboot the computer, Labview is able to start fine.  The chasis is installed in a mobile vechicle and cannot always be connected to the internet.  I've read that Labview 8 needs to connect to the internet to make sure the copy it is running is legitimate?  Is this copy protection messing me up?  Is there a way to run Labview 8 without internet connection?
    Thanks.

    biqbal wrote:

Where did you read this? There's an initial activation that you do when you first install LabVIEW. but there's no "phone home" each time you launch LabVIEW. I can start up LabVIEW without an internet connection.
More than likely what's causing it are services that run and/or MAX. Software firewalls installed on a computer can block this communication even it's happening on a loopback, but you said that the problem goes away once you connect to the internet, so it's likely not a firewall issue. Is the PXI chassis normally connected directly to the internet through a modem, or is it connected to a router (when it's connected)? Are you using a static IP address on your PXI chassis?

First af all the choice of the "Grave accent", which isn't present itself on the Mac keyboard, is somewhat strange in my opinion.
So, according to my keyboard viewer, to get grave accent I have to use alt-\ or alt-9, which is itslef too complicated.... Couldn't they program a simple modifier key (alt, or command, or ctrl...)?
Anyway, in both cases I get strange behaviours.
Infact I get alert sound, which meanes something strange is happening, and the behaviours are not what I want...
    Any help?
    Thanks

You can set that key to something else that suits you better.
(just as you can customize keyboard shortcuts all over the application, changing and adding shortcuts as you wish).
The name for this command is "Override connections".
Go to  Final Cut Pro->Commands. This will open the "Command Editor".
In order to not mess with the default set of commands, first make a copy by selecting "Duplicate..." in the popup menu at the top left of Command Editor. Call this something meaningful (or leave it as "Copy of default").
Enter "Override connections" (without the quotes) into the search box at the top right. Now you can enter an appropriate keyboard shortcut for it.
(Note: if you choose something that is already assigned to a different function, you'll get a warning dialog box)
