I've been working on the simulation of a modulation / demodulation PCM simulating the information signal (no data acquisition). But I am a beginner in programming in Labview, modulation and binary code assignment is made but I could not graph the PCM signal, I mean in stages, neither the demodulator. I attached the file I hope you can help me.
I appreciate your prompt response.

  • (V8.1.7) OPS : PCM LOCK과 NON-PCM LOCK에 대한 정리

    제품 : ORACLE SERVER
    작성날짜 : 2004-08-13
    (V7.3 ~ V8.1.7) OPS : PCM LOCK과 NON-PCM LOCK에 대한 정리
    =========================================================
    PURPOSE
    OPS 환경에서는 single instance와는 구별되어 PCM lock이라는 것이 존재한다.
    이것이 Non-PCM Lock과 어떻게 다르며, 어떤 방식으로 할당되는지에 대하여
    Oracle 8i(8.1.7) 버젼을 기준으로, 관련된 GC_* 파라미터에 대한 설명과 함
    께 소개하고자 한다.
    오라클 OPS 환경에서는 PCM lock 관련 파라미터를 어떻게 설정하느냐에 따라
    system 전체의 성능에 많은 영향을 미친다.
    SCOPE
    Oracle Parallel Server(OPS) Option은 8~9i Standard Edition에서는
    지원하지 않는다.
    Explanation
    1. Instance Lock
    Instance Lock에는 PCM Lock과 Non-PCM Lock 두가지가 존재한다.
    PCM(Parallel Cache Management) Lock은 Buffer cache 내의 block의 lock
    에 관련된 부분이고, Non-PCM Lock은 그 이외의 Lock이다.
    Non-PCM Lock에는 DFS enqueue lock과 DFS Lock 두가지가 있다.
    Instance Lock은 동기화에 필요한 cost가 굉장히 높으며, OPS 환경에서는
    PCM Lock의 갯수가 Non-PCM Lock의 갯수보다 훨씬 많다.
    이 PCM Lock의 갯수를 적절하게 잘 설정해야만 DLM을 적절하게 잘 구성했
    다 라고 말할 수 있다.
    2. PCM Lock
    1) PCM Lock은 X$LE 또는 GV$LOCK_ELEMENT 내에 기술된 lock element
    block class에 internal하게 mapping된다.
    2) lock element라고 불리우는 data structure 내에 state 정보를 저장한다.
    3) 다음과 같이 두 가지 방법으로 구현된다.
    1:1 or 1:n releasable locks
    1:1 or 1:n fixed locks
    3. Fixed Locking
    1) Oracle7에서는 default로 fixed locking 방법을 사용한다.
    2) DBA(data block address)에 hashing 알고리즘을 적용하여 data file
    block에 instance lock을 할당한다.
    3) Fixed locking 기법은 instance startup 시에 block에 hash 알고리즘
    을 이용하여 정적으로 할당이 된다.
    4) Fixed locking 기법은 보통 여러개의 data block을 cover한다.
    각 data file마다 고정된 수의 PCM lock이 할당되고, 한 datafile 당
    block 수가 몇 개인가에 따라 한 PCM lock이 관할하는 data block의 수
    가 결정이 된다.
    4. GC_FILES_TO_LOCKS
    각 datafile 당 PCM Lock의 갯수를 정하기 위하여 위 파라미터를
    initSID.ora 화일에 셋팅한다. 만약, 이 파라미터가 지정되어 있지 않으
    면, Oracle 7에서는 hashing 알고리즘에 근거하여 fixed하게 lock이
    assign되지만, Oracle 8부터는 releasable lock이 사용된다.
    해당 instance의 총 lock의 갯수를 지정하는 GC_DB_LOCKS 파라미터는
    Oracle 8부터 없어졌다.
    GC_FILES_TO_LOCKS = "{file_list=lock_count[!blocks][R][each]}:..."
    syntax는 위와 같다. 아래에 각각에 대한 설명을 추가한다.
    file_list : datafile 하나 또는 여러개를 set으로 지정 가능
    lock_count : file_list에 나타난 datafile에 대한 PCM lock의 갯수
    !blocks : cover할 연속된 block의 갯수
    R : 지정한 lock에 대해서는 releasable하다는 의미
    each : file_list에 지정한 각 datafile에 대해 할당된 lock의 갯수
    Example
    1=1000!25R
    1-3=500EACH
    1=300:2=100
    5. Instance Lock : FILE_LOCK view
    Oracle 7.3부터 제공되는 view로서 각 datafile에 대하여 PCM Lock이 얼마
    나 많이 할당되었는지 확인하는 view이다.
    select file_id, file_name, ts_name, start_lk, nlocks, blocking
    from file_lock;
    file_id : datafile number
    file_name : datafile name
    ts_name : tablespace name the file belongs to
    start_lk : first lock corresponding to the datafile
    nlocks : number of PCM locks allocated to the datafile
    blocking : number of blocks protected by a PCM lock on the file
    6. 1:1 Releasable Locking
    1) 1:1 releasable locking이 Oracle 8부터는 default이다.
    2) Releasable locking은 dynamic하게 PCM lock을 block에 assign한다.
    3) Lock은 필요할 때 assign되고 release된다.
    4) Block이 release되고 나면 PCM lock 또한 release된다.
    5) Lock element name은 Lock element가 reuse될 때마다 변한다.
    6) Instance startup하는 데 걸리는 시간이 더 빠르다. 그러나, request
    시에 DLM resource를 allocate하는 데 요구되는 시간이 더 많이 든다.
    7. Non-PCM Locks
    1) Non-PCM Lock은 dynamic하게 할당되고, PCM lock에 비해서 그 갯수는
    훨씬 적다. (시스템 전체 Lock의 5 ~ 10% 에 불과)
    2) Non-PCM Lock의 갯수를 직접 조절할 수 있는 초기화 파라미터는 없다.
    (except DML_LOCKS)
    3) Non-PCM Lock은 data block을 protect하지는 않는다. 그것은 PCM Lock
    의 job이다.
    4) 다음과 같은 역할을 하는 많은 type의 Non-PCM Lock이 있다.
    - Control access to data and control files
    - Control library and dictionary caches
    - Provide communication between instances
    5) Non-PCM Lock의 space를 조절하는 parameter들.
    DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS, DB_FILES, DML_LOCKS, PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS,
    PROCESSES, SESSIONS, TRANSACTIONS
    6) DML_LOCKS = 0 으로 설정하고 운영하는 것이 OPS에서는 일반적이다.
    OPS에서는 block level lock이 우선이므로, table lock이 자주 걸리는
    것이 바람직하지 않다. CREATE 또는 ALTER와 같은 작업을 할 경우에만
    이 파라미터 값을 0이 아닌 다른 값으로 설정하고, 그렇지 않은 경우에
    는 두 instance 모두 0으로 설정한다. 두 instance 모두 같은 값이어
    야 할 필요는 없으나, 0으로 설정할 경우에는 양쪽 모두 0으로 설정해
    야 한다.
    8. PCM Lock을 할당하기 위한 몇 가지 tips
    1) Always set GC_FILES_TO_LOCKS
    2) The value for GC_FILES_TO_LOCKS must be the same on all instances
    3) Do not assign locks to undo segment files
    4) No locks needed for temporary/sort blocks
    5) Group read-only objects together and allocate 1 hashed lock to
    the file
    6) Make tablespaces read-only, (no PCM locks used)
    7) Never assign DBA locking to read-only or mostly read only data
    8) If excessive pinging on undo blocks (down converts: X->SSX),
    increase GC_ROLLBACK_LOCKS
    Example
    none

  • PCM Data Dictionary

    Hi,
    I would like to know  if its possible to have the data dictionary of PCM. To help us understand the PCM database structure.
    Thank you!

    If you are looking for the database schema/tables-joins, you may want to look in the Oracle Knowledgebase here:

  • Premiere Pro CS4 PCM export with 5.1 channels possible?

    Due to the missing SurCode DD 5.1 codec in CS4 I wonder if Premiere Pro CS4 or Encore CS4 can export or create a Blu-Ray disc with 5.1 PCM audio?
    I only can choose PCM stereo or DD stereo so far.

    I've a question. So far I could not export 5.1 channels with Premiere Pro CS4.
    Even I could not Master in 5.1. I hav same 5.1Master, but I could not change the (final) Master settings to 5.1. Can this be changed? Or maybe the probleme is that I don't have a driver or a plug-in, or can this be solved with puuting a 5.1 or 7.1 audiocard in the PC?
    Thanks forward!
    Oh I'd forgot. I only export to .avi, .mpg, .mp4. I don't use the other formats. Can this be somhow the probleme?

  • Problem in WEBI Report with PCM OLAP Universe (PCM MDX Connector)

    We need to create reports in Web Intelligence from our PCM Models (Business Objects Profitability and Cost Management). We are able to create the olap universe using PCM MDX Connector and we have no problems creating the reports in webi. The problem is when we execute the report (run query): all the data from PCM model is loaded correctly (dimensions, levels, etc.), except the Measures. I mean, the values of all the measures are always zero (0). No matter the way we change the query (adding filters, adding or chopping dimensions, drilling levels, etc.) the value for every measure is zero.
    We've checked the aggretation method of each measure in BO universe designer and are all correctly configured.
    The model in PCM is calculated and even when we run the queries in PCM Model Builder tool directly to the model, the results are retrieved Ok and the measures have correct values (Revenue, lineitem values, etc.).
    Any ideas of what is going on?

    Hi Henry… thanks for your answer…
    The reports we are creating of PCM are not from BW universes, but PCM OLAP Universes. PCM have its own cube OLAP files, and BO universes for those OLAP models use the Business Objects PCM MDX Driver.
    Nevertheless I will try to catch the MDX statement, as you suggest, and see if something is wrong with it.
    The versions we have are: “Business Objects Enterprise 12.3 build 601” and “Business Objects Profitability and Cost Management (PCM) 7.5.11”
    Thanks again.
    Vladimir.

  • AVI movie - Cinepak & PCM codecs - Audio compatible with QT?

    Hi.
    I have an AVI movie made with Cinepak video codec and PCM audio "codec".
    PCM is really more of a standard uncompressed audio format than an actual "codec".
    In default configuration, QT fully supports AVI/Cinepak. I know that it also supports the ADPCM audio codec.
    But my vid is PCM, not ADPCM.
    My question - will PCM play on QT on a Mac that has only the standard codec set that came from the factory (ie, no need to require Mac viewers to find and install a codec to before they can play the vid)?
    THANKS!

    Change the video format into MOV with applications like MPEG Streamclip. You may find this VTC helpful.
    That bitrate is too high for MOV, so you may have to re-encode it. iMovie does not read all video codecs, so you may have to re-encode it anyway. I have never imported MPEG-4 Part 2 video into iMovie, which I don't use often. At least, I know that it reads MPEG-4 Part 10 (H.164).

  • Can JMF support 13 bit uniform PCM ?

    Hi everyone,
    I want to play AMR RTP stream in JMF, now, I got 13bit uniform PCM in a short array after using amr decoder, but seems Jmf can't play this 13 bit uniform PCM directly. so , I tried converting these PCM to U law PCM ,and tried A law PCM also, but the sounds still cann't play well? Doesn't someone know how to play these 13 bit uniform PCM in JMF ?
    Thank you very much!

    @? In answer to my own question, and I think I had known this a while back, SPDIF standard only supports transmission of either 2 channel PCM (uncompressed) stereo with up to 24 bit resolution per channel and up to as much as 92 kHz sampling frequency, or compressed (DD or DTS) multichannel audio up to 5..
    Since each frame of SPDF is 64 bits in length (with a single sample of L and R channels plus extra bits of status in each frame), at 92 kHz max sampling rate, this translates to about 3 Mbits/sec bit rate. However most SPDF don't support the 92 kHz rate (which for 24 bit would be the stereo rate for DVD-Audio) for various copyright protection reasons.
    Here is short demonstration of SPDIF transmission of 24bit/96 kHz between two sound cards with and without "bit accurate for playback" enabled:

  • BO PCM - BI Interface

    Hello Friends,
    Has anybody worked on developing an interface for Business Objects Profitability and Cost Analysis (PCM) from BI.
    I am looking for some documentation that shows how the data should be prepared in BI for creating models in PCM data builder.
    Please note we don't have databridge.
    Thanks!

    The PCM documentation provides table layouts for the PCM input tables.  They require understanding how the application uses them, but the layouts are well documented there.  In addition, we have developed excel xml sheets for importing & exporting key table data to/from PCM, which helps in the intial model build process.

  • Can I modulate with fsk and qpsk without modulation toolkit?

    I'm developing didactic modules related to fsk and qpsk modulation learning for begineer students in labview, my question is: ¿Can I make VI's involving fsk and qpsk modulations but using only labview?
    I don't have the modulation toolkit and the examples I found use that

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    yes sastry you're right.
    I found examples like this http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5115
    I searched in Help/Find examples too, but in a computer with the MT license and all of those examples start with MT and I couldn't open it in my computer because I think they need the MT so I have to do it that way you say, it's a good option, I hadn't thought that but needs more work, . Do you know any examples of fsk, qpsk or pcm modulations made only in Labview?
    Thanks for your answer, it really helped to me.

  • [Solved] Issue setting HDMI audio to default

    Hoping I'm not overlooking something very simple here.
    I have a Radeon HD4650 in my HTPC which I'm trying to run the audio through the HDMI output. I've set the kernel parameter "radeon.audio=1" and am able to hear sound through HDMI when I specify it manually within each application (for example XBMC or VLC going to Audio->Audio Device->HD-Audio Generic, HDMI 0 HDMI Audio Output).
    From there I tried to set the HDMI audio as default by following the wiki here:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Al … sound_card
    And here:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Al … s_not_work
    I've tried several combinations within my .asoundrc and asound.conf including:
    pcm.!default {
    type plug
    slave.pcm {
    @func getenv
    vars [ ALSAPCM ]
    default "hw:0,3"
    defaults.pcm.card 0
    defaults.pcm.device 3
    defaults.ctl.card 0
    pcm.!default "plughw:0,3"
    ctl.!default "plughw:0,3"
    pcm.dmixer {
    type dmix
    ipc_key 2048
    slave {
    pcm "hw:0,3"
    period_size 512
    buffer_size 4096
    rate 48000
    format S16_LE
    bindings {
    0 0
    1 1
    pcm.!default {
    type plug
    slave.pcm dmixer
    pcm:iec958 {
    type plug
    slave.pcm dmixer
    pcm.!default {
    type plug
    slave {
    pcm "hw:0,3"
    ctl.!default {
    type hw
    card 0
    Most of these I just copied from the wiki or various forum posts I found and edited the proper device in. These appear to work, as the HDMI card shows up as default in alsamixer (I've made sure everything is unmuted here), but selecting the default channel in VLC still results in no sound, not even from the built in audio (I can change the output to the HDMI option and it works fine).
    I've also tried this which results in no sound:
    aplay -D plughw:0,3 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
    Is there something I'm missing here?
    Here's my aplay -l:
    **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
    card 0: Generic [HD-Audio Generic], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
    Subdevices: 1/1
    Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
    card 1: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC1200 Analog [ALC1200 Analog]
    Subdevices: 1/1
    Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
    card 1: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: ALC1200 Digital [ALC1200 Digital]
    Subdevices: 1/1
    Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
    A quick note here: I set this option in /etc/modprobe.d/:
    options snd_hda_intel index=-2
    This moved the HDMI card up to device 0 instead of 1. I've tried everything above as well with plughw:1,3 when that was the HDMI device.
    aplay -L:

    I seemed to have solved this by following the advice in the Gentoo wiki:
    https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Radeon#Audio_over_HDMI
    pcm.!default {
    type plug
    slave.pcm "hdmi"
    Those four lines in my /etc/asound.conf work. I'm not sure what the difference is between specifying "hdmi" vs the hardware device "hw:0,3".
    I still get no sound with `aplay -D plughw:0,3 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav` however, `aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav` works now. `aplay -D hdmi /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav` results in an error/warning:
    Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 48000 Hz, Mono

    Well, commected those lines out and restarted Pulse... Amarok still crashes when hitting Play and mpd also refuses to work with pulse-output... Alsa Output still works fine tho...
    This is what amarok gives me:

  • Thinkpad T61 kernel panics

    I'm having some trouble with random kernel panics on a thinkpad T61. Sometimes they occur just after boot yet other times I can be using my laptop for hours with absolutely no problems before it decides to panic. I've attached a picture of the error message I get and the output of some commands I thought would be relevant.

    Sorry to ressurect an old thread, but recently I've been getting random kernel panics on my t61 as well. I believe the root cause is the wireless card. I have an intel 4965 card just like you.

  • Unable to get upmixing to work with USB 5.1 sound card

    Hello!
    I'm having some trouble with an USB 7.1 sound-card that I want to use for my 5.1 sound system.
    The sound-card is connected to my Lenovo Thinkpad T400 via docking staton on USB.

    So I put this into /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf:
    options snd_slots=snd_usb_audio,snd_hda_intel
    options snd_usb_audio index=0

    to always get a correct sound device order.
    When I then - after reboot - play music, It works only on the two front-speakers. All other speakers - rear and center - are dead.
    But when I invoke speaker-test with
    $ speaker-test -c6 -D surround51
    speaker-test 1.0.27.2
    Playback device is surround51
    Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 6 channels
    Using 16 octaves of pink noise
    Rate set to 48000Hz (requested 48000Hz)
    Buffer size range from 96 to 87381
    Period size range from 48 to 43690

    1 - Front Right
    3 - Rear Right
    2 - Rear Left
    5 - LFE
    Time per period = 14.569581
    all speakers make a noise when they are shown during the test correctly.
    In the wiki, I tried some examples on the configuration of ~/.asoundrc as described, but none of them worked - everything I specify there is effectles, even after reboot.
    What I've tried so far in ~/.asoundrc (without success):
    pcm.dsp {
    type plug
    slave.pcm "dmix"
    pcm.upmix51 {
    type upmix
    slave.pcm "surround51"

    pcm.dmix6 {

    ipc_key 567829
    slave {
    pcm "hw:0,0"
    channels 6
    pcm.!default "plug:dmix6"
    So what am I doing wrong?

    Hello there!
    In the german forum, I found some more help.
    This configuration now got 5.1 sound mixing to work via ALSA (without using PulseAudio).
    $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
    options snd_hda_intel index=-2
    options snd_usb_audio index=-1
    $ cat /etc/asound.conf
    pcm.!default
    type plug
    slave.pcm "surround51"
    slave.channels 6
    route_policy duplicate
    $ cat /proc/asound/cards
    0 [Device ]: USB-Audio - USB Sound Device
    USB Sound Device at usb-0000:00:1a.7-5.4, full speed
    1 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
    HDA Intel at 0xfc620000 irq 47
    4 [ThinkPadEC ]: ThinkPad EC - ThinkPad Console Audio Control
    ThinkPad Console Audio Control at EC reg 0x30, fw 7VHT12WW-1.01
    But this doesn't solve all my problems.
    I'm still searching for a way of how to use the internal intel sound card as default PCM device if the USB sound is unplugged or not available during boot.
    Any ideas?
