PDF files load on the web, quicktime doesn't and flash doesn't

I am amazed pdf files load but not quicktime video.
Even apples own website has some streaming video and it will not load.
Flash sites don't seem to load either.
But PDF files.
At least they got that right.

I have a number of QT Videos on my website that I converted to "iPod Video" using Compressor2. Oddly, most will play on iPhone but some refuse! The embedded video frame shows the QT logo and a "play" icon when it think it can play, otherwise it show a greyed "play" icon with a line through it. And I thought all the videos were the same!
I'd give out the web page in question, but the last thing I need is 700,000 hits from curious iPhone owners. Send me an email if you're curious and I'll be happy to share.

sorry incase i missed the obvious, but so far i couldn't find any infos on that topic:
is it possible to hand over dde commands over the web?
eg, instead of having a standard pdf link, hand over some ddes with it?

Firefox 33 doesn't display a pdf file when using the response object

Firefox 33.0.2 does not display pdf files when using the code below from an asp.net program, which works for previous versions of Firefox, and also works with IE. I'm using the built-in pdf viewer. All of my plugins are disabled.

Thanks cor-el. You pointed me in the right direction. It appears to me that a reported Firefox 33 bug with the handling of compression (Transfer-Encoding: chunked) is the culprit (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1026743). I was able to find a work-around by specifying the file size and buffering. Downloading pdf files with firefox 6.0.2 doesn't always work but pdf files do download with IE

for example the home page for the web site kerrville.org has several items to download and most are pdf files using firefox version 6.0.2 the download seems to start but never completes . If I use IE version 8 at the same web site I'm able to download any and all of the pdf files. I have tried this several times and get the same results each time.

I would just get rid of the create PDF 1.1 and go with CutePDF instead. It's a much better program, it's free, and it doesn't create all the issues that the Adobe software does.

PDF files used to open with a "save" option, and I have Acrobat 9 Pro installed on my system (running Windows 7). Now, that icon is gone and I can't save. Is there another way to configure the plug-in or is Firefox preventing this or what? THANK YOU.

this is a new problem. Running Windows 7, latest update of Firefox 3.6.13. Under "Applications", I'm set to "open Adobe Acrobat inside Firefox" (which is what I have always done, then if I wanted to, I saved the PDF file elsewhere). should I/ can I open the PDFs outside Firefox, with my Adobe 9 Pro program?

1. Create New Flex Project in Trial Flash Builder 4.5.

Just tried this out on an IIS server with Flash player 10.3.181.14 - it worked.
Are you using the release version of Flash Builder 4.5 with the release version of Flex SDK (not a prior SDK build)?
The URL you mentioned gives me a 403 forbidden error.

I have seen this issue fixed for some users by modifying the following registry key:
The key is "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" MoveImages
Set the key to 1 instead of 0 then reboot the machine.
In case you still face the issue try the following registry key change:
The only thing you have to do is rename the following key at the REGEDIT, and everything will be fine !!
BEFORE:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe
AFTER:

After reinstalling the software, I initially didn't encounter this problem but on my second and third attempts to convert files to .pdf format, this error message reappeared. Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.

You can remove the assembly tree by doing a roundtrip in 3D Toolkit, here's how:
- start Acrobat 3D
- drag & drop a CAD file
- click on 3D Annot to activate
- right-click on 3D
- select 'Edit in 3D Toolkit'
- 3D Toolkit launches
- click in 'Scene Tree' panel
- right-click on top assembly name
- select 'Tools->Collapse Hierarchy'
- select 'File->Save'
- select 'File->Exit'

If you are using Acrobat you can try the suggestions mentioned above.
Are you using the Create PDF service from within Reader to create pdf?
If yes then please check if you are able to login to: https://cloud.acrobat.com/convertpdf with your Adobe ID and able to convert the document to pdf.
If yes then within Reader you can try the following:
Choose Edit > Preferences (Win)
Click 'Online Services' or 'Adobe Online Services' on the left-hand side
Sign out of your Adobe ID and sign back in.
