PDF forms setup

Hi
I want to do some development related to PDF forms. I have downloaded Adobe Live Cycle Designer from Adobe Site but not able to integrate it with SAP. So can anyone please tell me what are the steps to configure the same with SAP?

Can anyone still provide me way to do this? I want to know which plugin I am suppose to add on system in order to enable this. Because my server is enabled with ADS service but not able to work on PDF forms on my system.

If you created it in Forms Central, you have to edit it there. I believe Forms Central is similar to LiveCycle Designer in that the form created is no longer able to be edited in Acrobat. I might be wrong, but that is my understanding. You add the submit button in Forms Central. Within Acrobat, you should be able to go to the forms menu and Manage Data to save the data to an Excel file. Others better with forms should be by to clarify things, but this should get you started. In the future you might find it better to post a forms question in the forms discussions.

How do I change the order of the fields in my pdf form?

I am using pdf. form I made in Acrobat and distributing with Adobe FormsCentral. We use a table format for our teachers to fill out their field trip schedules and therefore use many different fields.
How can I change the order of the fields (not for tabbing, we figured that out)...so that when we receive our notification email, I can see the inforamtion in a specific order (Date, Time, School, Program, etc).
We would also like this same order to appear in the "View Responses" table. I know you can drag and drop the order in the table but we have over 100 fields and that is going to take a really long time.
Please help???

What do you mean by the "order they appear in the pdf structure"? What is the "Pdf structure"?
thank you for your help... this is really upsetting, as I thought we finally found a solution with Adobe Forms : (
We really need the fields to report back in a specific order and wouldn't have time to rearrange over 100 fields with every form that is submitted. We receive about 10-20 different forms a day (same form layout, just some of the fields will have to be prefilled depending on school/teacher reservation... so we have to name each form a different name, for each school).
Thank you again and maybe one day they will change that. Is there anyway to set it up in the web verison of Adobe FormsCentral to look similar to the table we have created?

I have a project that entails tax forms from the IRS -- I know everyone's favorite stuff.
1)I need to setup a form that asks the webusers questions regarding their personal tax information -
2) then validate/massage that data/information and determine what PDF form template to output this data to. (possibly output to 4 forms determined by users response)
3) output the data collected in step 1 to the correct PDF template/form example template= http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040.pdf - applying the data to the correct fields - bascially filling out the users name, address, calculations etc.
4)allow the user to save/print/download the produced form in step 3
I know I am not the first person to need this functionality. Can you please simply answer my question - can this be done? Does it require software from other companies, or is this something that can be accomplished with just adobe products? If so, can you point me to some tutorials that show me the necessary process to do this?
I very much appreciate any support you can provide me - I need to start on this project yesterday.

An automated second page.

There are two approaches.
If you wish to use AcroForm technology, then you would need to write a bunch of JavaScript to enable this. It has been done, but it’s not trivial.
If you wish to use XFA technology, then it can be setup to happen automatically.
Be aware that in both cases, even though both technologies are part of the PDF standard, that the forms will only be usable in this manner in Adobe’s viewers as many others don’t support JavaScript or XFA.

Is it possible to designate stapling when printing a PDF form?

I am using Adobe Lifecycle Designer (ver. 10.0.1029120306.1.870331) to set up a new report for an SAP application. I can certainly designate duplex printing from within the form by using Form Properties and the PDF Print Options, but no stapling option can be found. Is this possible? Is there a way to set this up from within the PDF form? If not within the form, what have others found to work for their environment? We are using Xerox GPD PS printers here and they certainly offer the stapling feature.

OK...it has been a wild ride, but between our Basis team and the Server team (which handles our printer drivers), here is what they came up with to enable this feature. They really put in the time to figure this out. References to PRD in this document is a reference to our production machine. ZPMLOCL is a printer type used by our users for printing these work order forms. A lot of effort was also given to make sure the driver on the printer supported the stapling feature (most do anymore). This effort is to not only allow stapling, but to also eliminate the pesky banner page which can suddenly start printing with these changes. We are using Xerox printers in our evironment.
Steps for Basis Portion of PRD change on the - Standard Work Order Form - shop paper document
(STMS) Transport device type ZPMHPLJ4 to PRD with Transport
SPAD
Change device type of printer ZPMLOCL from SAPWIN to ZPMHPLJ4.
Click on access method tab and change access method to G: (Front End Printing with Control Tech).
Confirm the "No device Selection at frontend" checkbox is selected.
Hit the Save button.
Copy zpmhppcl5e.xdc file from AD1 to ADS, in the location below.
4. SA38/SE38* run program RSPO0022 on PRD and Check to see if transport from step 1 moves the assignment below.
If not create assignment the same as in the red box below.
5. Finally, stop and then start the XML Form Module Java Service in ADS.
I have no other notes on this setup. I hope this helps you in your efforts to get the stapling feature up and running on your system.

Information is missing when I save responses as PDF forms

When I save a response as PDF, I only get 3 pages from the filled in response. While it should be 9 pages. One of the tables doe not continue on the next page. How can download the response exactly in the format form the design? Now I'm missing to much information.

I am pretty sure that what you need to do for all of the content to fit properly in PDF is to use the "Page View" setting/mode on the Design tab (default view is "Web View" for web forms) and edit the content in that view to "fit". The "Page View" view mode is to design/tweak the form to work in PDF, the changes made in "Web View" are still there including all features not supported in a PDF, but any Page Breaks added in either view are unique to that view, if you add a Page Break in Web View you will not see that in the PDF or Page View, if you add a Page Break in Page View it is only used in the PDF.
If you were to have used the "Save Submission Enabled PDF" button on the Distribute tab you would have seen an error that the content does not fit and it would have taken you into "Page View" on the Design tab where it would show you the content that would be cropped in a PDF. We'll address the issue that this error does not come up when saving the response as a PDF form.
The view drop down selector is in the bottom right corner in the Design tab:
There are a few things you can do in Page View to get the content to work in PDF but not change the HTML/web form too much. You can of course add page breaks, and you can break up large form fields, but you can also simply change the font size to get things to fit sometimes, or go into "File" - "Form Setup" and change the page size which will only affect the PDF and not the web form, a larger page will fit more content.

Using importdata to import xml data into dynamic PDF form

Hi again,
Me and my colleagues have a problem using the importData service to import some xml data into an empty PDF form (represented as an XFA input variable).
In the server log I get the error that Only XDP data is supported for XFA forms, however I only have the xml data and not the entire xdp available.
Is this really not possible to to (like importing xml data to a form is possible in the Designer when creating forms).

Hi again, I have been experimenting a little with both the renderPDFForm and importData services. However I don't seem to be ble to make them work as I need them to. My scenario is simple, I have one (call it a template xdp/PDF form) and lots of data in xml files (around 1000), that I need to import into the template. Therefore I have set up a "Watched Folder" to take the xml as a document (I guess this is a requirement) and then I need either the renderPDF or importData services to import the xml data into the template. I would like to know how I should setup the services to make this work. PDF Form to XML. How to handle invoice detail lines

I am using LC Designer 7.x on a PDF form that has a submit button that loads a ColdFusion MX7 page that will save the XML in a MS SQL 2005 XML field.
My source of confusion is how to handle the invoice detail lines on the PDF invoice form.
The XML that I want is
    5 All Season Tires
    400.02
    A car with 5 wheels
    20400.00
My question is how do I setup the form fields to do this.
What I did prior to XML was have fields whose name included the line number and store them as FDF.
eg
    description01 amount01 description02 amount02
But that will not work, or I dont know how to translate that to the desired XML.
Any thoughts you might have would be appreciated.

You want to create a subform called "invoiceLine" which you've set to repeat for each data item using the Binding tab of the Object palette. This subform must be contained within another (e.g. "invoiceLines") whose content is set to be "Flowed" on the Subform tab of the Object palette. So your object hierarchy looks like:
invoiceLines = subform with flowed content
    invoiceLine = subform repeated for each data item
      description
      amount

Save PDF form to SharePoint

Hello Experts,
This is my 1st question in this forum (& regarding Acrobat as well).
Here's the scenario;
We have SharePoint 2013 environment which is used for lot of things around documents, workflows, projects etc. In one of the projects, we have a requirement to use PDF Forms. These forms will be provisioned as part of the Document Set (inside document set), we are able to convert word/excel forms in to pdf & setup the columns, validations etc and all is well so far.
Here's the Problem:
When the user opens the pdf form > fills in information > click on save > Points to local machine documents folder VS. we prefer to set it up in such a way where the form holds on to the link from where it was opened and saves it back to the same location. Of course, user may get a prompt that the file already exists and thats completely fine.
I have been trying to get around this since last week and haven't made any progress and finally thought of asking the experts for help.
Please help, your time and efforts are highly appreciated. Kindly let me know if there are any questions.

SharePoint Integration was introduced in Acrobat X. So the signers will have to be on Acrobat X (latest patch 10.1.4) and above, to be able to check out the form from SharePoint and sign it. Just saving the form to SharePoint server and checking out from there should solve your purpose with Acrobat/Reader 10.1.4.You dont need to even distribute it.

Mapping Master/Detail type of information in a PDF form

I have a Web Dynpro Application and I am experiencing some difficulties in mapping the Web Dynpro Context to the PDF form to get the desired result. I hope you smart people can help me.
In the Web Dynpro Context I have the following structure:
- DataSource
Customer (0..n)
Name
Address (0..1)
some attributes like Street, City, etc.
Orders (0..n)
some attributes like description, amount, etc
On the PDF form I want to generate 1 PDF that displays all the order details for all the customers.
In other words a high-level layout for the PDF would be:
Heading
Customer 1
-- Name and Address
-- All Orders
Customer 2
-- Name and Address
-- All Orders
Customer n
-- Name and Address
-- All Orders
By using a SubForm and binding the context I can easily repeat the display of all Customers, but I cannot manage to display all the orders for just a specific Customer.
I believe that I am just not finding how to setup the binding for the PDF elements correctly. If I just drag-n-drop the Order elements onto the form I get a binding in the PDF form of $record.Customer[].Orders[].amount. This does not seem to be correct.
Can any one help me with a solution to my problem? Any advice or a more advanced tutorial than the ones I've found will be much appreciated.

Unfortunately I get an exception on the Orders Subform when I try that.
The error message is "The SOM expression 'Orders[*]' for the dataRef specified on field 'Orders', resolved to an incompatible node value of 'dataValue'.
I followed the tutorial "Unit: Interactive Forms Integration into Web Dynpro for
Java, Topic: Dynamically generated forms" that suggested nesting Subforms. The structure I currently have:
Customer SubForm -> Type: Flow Content, Flow Direction: Table
|--- Customer Row SubForm -> Type: Position Content, Binding: $record.Customer[*], Repeat for Each Data Item
Up to here it works and it repeats for all Customers, but the next subform is the problem. After your reply I set it up as follows:
 |--- Orders Subform -> Type: Position Content, Binding: Orders[*]
 |--- Description -> Binding: Description
But I then get the exception above. Any ideas?

Reading Data into a PDF form with cfpdfform and cfpdfformparam

I have been trying to read data from a query into a PDF form. I have the application setup to generate a new pdf file for every record in the database table which is working perfectly, but when I try to have the application pre-populate the form fields in the pdf form they remain empty. I have included a snippet of the code that creates the PDF documents. I am using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0 to create the PDF form.
Snippet Example:

I'm just glad I might be of any help.
First, make sure the image is embeded as a base64 encoded string in the xml structure you're working with on your form you've built in LiveCycle Designer.
I do this by reading the image file and outputing its content as a base64 string:

Your PDF form should be bound to this 'img' field from your xml structure in LiveCycle Designer.
This works perfectly and the image from the xml is indeed displayed in the PDF form generated with cfpdf.
BUT, from the moment you convert the pdf form to static pdf document, the image will be gone - the dynamic text remains.
Note: I never further investigated why the image disapears once the pdf form is converted to 'static' pdf. Thinking about it now, it might have been an incoding issue. The toBase64() function in ColdFusion has an optional "Encoding" argument, may be by playing with the encoding the image might finally 'survive' the conversion to static pdf.

How to email PDF form as an attachment?

I have developed online interactive form app(dynamic).
When user clicks the submit button after entered the data,
I want to email the PDF form as an attachment to some users.
Could anyone please explain the steps or give me some sample code?
