PDF printing: Need specific data

Hi experts,
I have a smartform that currently prints out 6 pages. Every alternate page is a page that contains the "Terms and conditions". This is working fine when printing out the form. But I would like to convert it to a PDF document too. Now, this too is coming out fine except for now the user wants only the odd pages + last page in the pdf.
Any one faced this scenario before? Any suggestions as to how to proceed?
If there any way that we can manipulate the OTF data after it is returned from the FM? Or maybe change the parameters while converting the OTF into a PDF? Or maybe even change the Binary file after it has been created?

PDF Printing, need some advice

Senario: I have created a small application which my business people use for printing file folder labels. The users enter the data they want, hit a button "Print Report". This fires an Oracle Report which spits out a PDF file with the labels on it. The user prints the PDF and applies the labels to the file folders.
The physical labels do not have much leeway; if one field on the report is rendered inaccurately as much as 1/32 of an inch, the error will amplify on each progressive label until the last few labels on the print job are completely fubar. So the first label will be ok, the second one will be a little off, #3 will be even more so, etc.
Problem: Oracle Report does not give me enough control over where the fields render. There are ~30 fields on this report. I need programmic control over where the fields on the report render. I also need to programmically rotate the fields on the report, so that they appear "tilted" 90 degrees.
I have had very limited success doing this in Oracle Reports. I can do this using the GUI tools but it always comes down to me having to "eyeball" it, then try to adjust the properties. This is extremely tedious, and very error-prone. I am looking at doing this in PL/PDF, however my office's budget is very tight right now.
Question: Will there be PDF printing in APEX v3? If so, how advanced will it be? I understand this may not be a fair question at this point.
If v3 is going to have pretty good PDF reporting and printing capacity I can probably "get by" with what I have in Oracle Reports and wait til v3. However, if v3 will only have rudimentary PDF capability, I will make the case to my boss that we should get PL/PDF and use it.
Feel free to shoot holes in what I'm doing; if you think I should stick it out with Oracle Reports and am just not using the tool correctly let me know.

Basically, yes. I searched Google the other day, looking for a good technique for label printing, and using absolute position through CSS seems the consensus. The real hard work is not creating the CSS but compute all the necessary positions. I looked for a specific Avery template, and was able to find all the label positions. If your label sheet is a standard one, maybe you'll get lucky. If not, you'll need a good ruler.
As for how to do it, I think the best way will be to create a report, based on a "Named Column (row template)" report template. This will give you the flexibility you need. The following can help you with that:

W2 PDF Print - Need to add some custom fields

We are upgrading from 4.7 to ECC 6.0. PDF form HR_F_W2_MULT_07 is working well and good.
But we noticed that some of the custom code in the sapscript didnt get translated into the PDF.
For eg, We need to print a Sequence No. right below Employer information.
Suppose we execute PU19 for 25 employees, the seqno should be ranging from 1 to 25 on the 25 W2 s printed.
-- I modified the form and incorporated a field for the Seqno.
--I am aware that we can modify the structure P10_SHR_F_W2 and in customer Include CI_P10_SHR_F_W2, we can add the field for SeqNo.
-- But as this is a custom field, not derived from any infotype, How the logic for incrementing the Seqno can be incorporated in program RPCTRPUA ?
-- Is there any Badi or User Exit available for this ? Or a SAPMOD is the only option ?
-- Is there any other method of acheiving this result. ?

As far as I am aware the only way to add data is to either customise the view or change the PO_COMMUNICATION_PVT package. Both of these are standard and therefore I suspect that customising them is not supported. But as far as I can tell you don't have much choice if you want to use the java PO print.
Yes I did customise the view definition. Although the additional fields should appear in the XML they won't appear on the output if you are using the seeded XSL-FO template.
I wrote an rtf template and converted it to XSL-FO (standard export option from the desktop version). Then you can include any fields you want to.

I am using standard interface and program to print my PDF forms. The PDF form alone is customised.
I need to format my date as dd-mmm-yyyy. how can i do it?
can i call a subroutine from a Zprogram in the context or interface?

I am using the std prgm RFKORD10_PDF and my customised PDF form. but i am getting an error as "Contradiction in form".

Hi,
Need help with scripting. I'm creating a Menu Page where in I list the PDF files and right beside it put a PRINT BUTTON which of course will print that specific PDF file. Is this doable or not?

Can't create a PDF file from "printing" need help

hey I have Acrobat 8 professional and I used to be able to create PDF files by clicking print, selecting the Adobe PDF printer and so on. Recently it stopped letting me do this by stating that Windows can not print due to current printer setup. I was able to get around it for a while by clicking on save as, create PDF, and chooseing the quick and easy option...very frustrated, I don't know if I need to download a newer version or if it doesn't like my new HP officejet printer (which I removed from my default to try and see if that worked) done with my area of knowledge and need advise

Have you checked to see if the print spooler service is running?
Go to desktop, right click "My Computer" and click "manage",
Open Services and Applications
Click Services
Scroll down to "print spooler" and right click it - does it say "start" or "stop" ?
if it allows you to "start" the printing service, it may be being disabled by something which could be endemic of another problem. HP printer install software is full of mad features these days. Print spooler should start itself automatically on bootup, if it doesn't, that might affect PDF printing.

Acrobat 7, needed with FrameMaker 7: How do I get and install an "Adobe PDF printer instance?"

In FrameMaker, when I try to save a FrameMaker file as a PDF file, I get the following message: "FrameMaker could not find Adobe PDF printer instance, which must be installed to execute "Save as PDF" command". I have a sinking feeling that I deleted that printer instance from my list of printers, thinking I did not need such a printer. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling FrameMaker 7, Acrobat 7 and Reader 9. All reinstalled successfully, EXCEPT still no Adobe PDF printer instance. Thus my question: how do I get and install that Adobe PDF printer instance?
.( I am using a new computer. I still have my old computer available, with the Adobe PDF printer instance on it. If I could find where in the old machine (Windows XP) the files are for it, I could copy them to the new machine).

Using PDF Printer in XP Mode within Windows 7 64-bit (need x86 driver)

I have practically the same question.
My desktop has as Windows 7 64-bit on it, and Adobe Acrobat X installed on it I have an application that I have to run in XP Mode.
How can I install the print driver in both places without buying another license? They are running on the same machine.
I tried to connecting to the shared PDF Printer using a network printer, but Adobe Acrobat only installs the 64-bit driver, and the XP Mode needs the x86 driver installed.
I found that I can go to the printer properties and it has an option to add the X86 driver but asks for the .inf file.
I believe this version of Acrobat came as part of a bundle, but not positive. Can't find a disk anywhere and also looked for a driver on my PC. No luck.
I know this is a fully licensed product. So anyone know where I can find the driver?

How is Acrobat 8 not fully Windows 7 compatible? I see discussions on this Adobe Community saying how Acrobat 8 does work on Windows 7 and with 64-bit. It appears that if Acrobat 8 is updated to the latest version, then this should fix AA8-Win7 issues. And I am at the latest AA8 version, 8.3.1.
And how are Acrobat 8 and Reader XI are not compatible? I have always had Acrobat and Reader installed on the same PC, without ever having any issues. And Adobe allows the installation of one after the other. So apparently Adobe allows them both to exist together. If they are incompatible, then why would Adobe allow them to exist together?
Anyway, I did uninstall the FileOpen Plug-in and the Reader XI, then reinstalled the FileOpen Plug-in. So now Reader is not installed and only Acrobat 8 is installed. I then tried to load the PDF file, but I still get the Acrobat 8 error described above.

Need to know a specific date under history

I am looking for a specific date that I was on a website. It is listed under "show all history" for the month of January, so I know I visited the site this month, but I need to confirm the actual date. How do I do that, as you don't list the date, as Safari does.

You can make extra columns visible in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) via the Views menu (second button on toolbar) or via the right-click context menu of the header in the right pane.

If it is Win 7 or later, the Adobe PDF printer for AA 7 will not install and AcroTray will not function. You will have to install a PS driver from Adobe or maybe an HP color PS printer driver. Then edit the driver properties and change the name to Adobe PDF and the port to FILE. You will always have to do an extra step in creating PDFs by opening the file that is created in Distiller to get the PDF.
If you are talking about Win 8, you may not be successful at all. If you got Acrobat and Distiller to install, then there is a chance.

Hi Yamini,
I think this happens when you look at utf-8 in Windows wiith another character set. I've noticed that the XML file (and hence the PDF output) displays those characters when I preview reports on the BI desktop, but the output from the server is fine, so I don't worry about it.

Thank you Bernd - Explorer will let us change the file name one at a time, however I am creating numerous pdfs at a time, and its a pain to correct them one at a time, or to create a bat file to do this. Does anyone know if the Adobe PDF printer has a feature that will eliminate the file type? thanks

How thick are the magnet sheets? I would expect most printers would have trouble feeding this material.
