  • Crystral reports viewer activex control 11.5 - export to pdf - misaligned

    good morning
    i have been advised to post here for a better response
    i have a slight issue im trying to get an answer for with crystral reports viewer activex control 11.5
    when exporting data from the report on screen to pdf, everything is mostly ok except for some lines which are not correctly aligned with everything else
    when i do a print instead to software such as primopdf, the alignment is fine, its exactly as it looks on the onscreen report, howeverm primopdf is unable to print the whole report due to a control error & it also takes far too long exporting the data out of crystal reports
    obviously, getting the activex control export to pdf working is the preferred option, else why bother using it
    has anyone else had similar issues & what did you do to resolve?
    i wouldnt be suprised if the answer is simply to update to the latest version

    Well, perhaps not the latest version, but certainly the latest Service Pack would be the place to start. For CR XI r2 (11.5), the latest SP can be downloaded from here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006255422008E/crxir2_sp4_inc.exe
    If that does not help, have a look at [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_boj_erq/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d3639373635463644364636343635334433393339333832363639373635463733363137303645364637343635373335] kbase.
    Now, the above was created for CR 10.2, so the registry for CR XI r2 is:
    HKLMsoftware usiness objectssuite 11.5crystal reports.
    You may have to create the "Export" folder and PDF folder so that this looks as:
    HKLMsoftware usiness objectssuite 11.5crystal reportsexportpdf
    Now, Right-click the pdf sub key and click New > DWORD Value. Name the DWORD value "ForceLargerFonts" and set it to the value of 1.
    Restart IIS, and try the application again.
    If this does not help, let me know if this is a web or a win app.

    Update:
    IIS is7.5, AppPool is Integrated.
    I have tried below, none of them works:
    1) Add it only to system.web\httpHanders. Changed AppPool to classic, still got hidden error.
    2) Add it only to system.webServer\handlers. Integrated mode,still got hidden error.
    3) Add both to both element. Integrated mode, still got hidden error.

    Hi Kingofwebguru,
    According to your description, when you use reportviewer control, you got the error message: The Report Viewer Web Control HTTP Handler has not been registered in the application's web.config file.
    To troubleshoot the problem, please refer to the following steps:
    Click Start, click Run, then type InetMgr.exe and click OK.
    Click plus sign next to server name to expand it.
    Click Application Pools in left pane.
    In Application Pools list, click DefaultAppPool.
    In the Actions pane, in Edit Application Pool section, click Edit Settings to check the Pipeline mode.
    Configuration settings for the HTTP handlers are specified in the system.web/httpHandlers element and the system.webServer/handlers element. of your application Web.config file. The handler specified in system.web/httpHandler is used by Internet Information
    Services (IIS) 6.0 or IIS 7.0 in Classic mode, whereas the handler specified in system.webServer/handlers is used by IIS 7.0 in Integrated mode. To use IIS 7.0 in Integrated mode, you must remove the HTTP handler in system.web/httpHandlers. Otherwise, IIS
    will not run the application, but will display an error message instead.
    For more information about Web.config Settings for ReportViewer, please refer to the following document:

  • Report Viewer Configuration Error

    Hi,
    I manage a TFS 2010 Server that makes heavy use of Reporting Services, and I have a user that reported the following error
    when attempting to open a report in the Microsoft Visual Studio Report Viewer:
    Report Viewer Configuration Error
    The Report Viewer Web Control HTTP Handler has not been registered in the application's web.config file. Add <add verb="*" path="Resevred.ReportViewerWebControl.xsd" type = "Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, ReportingServicesWebServer,
    Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=################" /> to the system.web/httpHandlers section of the web.config file, or add <add name="ReportViewerWebControlHandler" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="*"
    path="Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd" type="Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, ReportingServicesWebServer, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=################" /> to the system.webServer/handlers section for
    Internet Information Services 7 or later.
    Has anyone seen this error before, or have any advice on finding a solution?
    Thank you.

    Hi HealthServices3300,
    You can try to install "Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 Redistributable Package" on your server to check if it works for you.
    For the web.config info, it's for web application. And I'd like to know how did you create the report, and whether the report is for a web app or reporting service. From the error message and report, seems it's not a TFS issue. If it's SSRS project
    issue, please post this issue to
    this forum. If it's a report viewer control issue, you can post this issue in
    this forum for a professional response. After that, please update this thread with the new thread link. Thanks for your understanding.

    Hi
    I am having problem on using Crystal Report Viewer on one of my windows application.
    I am not sure how to put the Crystal Report Viewer 11 Control onto the tool box.
    I could found a Crystal Report Viewer control on my computer, but it is version 8.5.
    I have also found another one which is Called Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, i don't think it is the one I can use. As when I try to load a dummy report on to the Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, It return an error. "specified type is not valid"
    Please see the Code sample below.
    private sub loadReport()
         Dim r as New ReportDocument
         'v is the name of the Crystal ActiveX Report Viewer Control
         r.Load("C:\Report1.rtp")
         v.ReportSource(r) <---It throw error on this line.
    End Sub
    Could you give me some advice about what have I done wrong, How to check if I have set up the Crystal Report Component correctly in my Visual Studio 2005 Standard edition.
    Thanks in advances.
    Many thanks
    Chi

    VS 2005 Standard and Express editions do not come with Crystal Reports; only the Professional and higher editions will have CR bundled. However, I believe you can purchase CR XI R2 Developer and it will give you the components you need to create a VS .NET 2005 application using the Standard edition.

  • How to hide the preview section in the crystal report viewer activex cntrl.

    Dear All,
    I am using the Crystal report viewer ActiveX to display the Crystal report. When the report opens in the Crystal report viewer ActiveX control, a preview section comes at the left hand side of the panel. How can I hide the preview section from the Report viewer control.Is it possible to customize the the report viewer control.  Awaiting for your suggestions.
    Thank you.

    Just to get the terminology correct. I believe you are meaning the Group Tree(?).
    Vb Code:
    CrystalActiveXReportViewer1.DisplayGroupTree = False.
    Also, do consult the developer help file;

  • Export to PDF fails for some reports, but report viewer works

    Hi all
    Our application produces several different reports.
    - Report A can successfully be viewed in the ASP.NET report viewer control and can be exported to PDF
    - Reports B and C can successfully be viewed in the ASP.NET report viewer (all pages),  but export to PDF fails with a very unclear error message. The stack trace is attached below.
    Two days ago, reports B and C have fully worked, and I'm sure by 100% that the report templates haven't been modified since then.
    Can anyone explain what is going wrong? Is there some internal logging inside Crystal Reports that can be investigated to find out about the reasons of the error?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks
    Kuno
    PS.: The Crystal Libraries under investigation are quite old. In fact, it is a very old application that still runs under .NET 1.0.

    You say it is data dependent. Could you be a bit more specific. What data work or do not work ?
    As a good test pls see if our samples reports work. They come with a default installation. If you do not have them any more - get them from [here|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100005852352008E/cr_xi_xtreme_rep_smpl_en.zip].

  • Print SSRS Server Report in landscape or portrait mode directly(without report viewer control)

    Hello,
    .Net 4.0\VS2010\C#\ssrs 2008 on Sql Server 2008R2
    Having a problem printing a Server report while controlling the orientation and the size of the emf rendered to the physical page.
    I have the report cutting off in both landscape and portrait modes. I'm passing the following deviceinfo to the render function:
    string DeviceInfo =
    @"<DeviceInfo>
    <OutputFormat>EMF</OutputFormat>
    <PageWidth>8.5in</PageWidth>
    <PageHeight>11in</PageHeight>
    <MarginTop>0.25in</MarginTop>
    <MarginLeft>0.25in</MarginLeft>
    <MarginRight>0.25in</MarginRight>
    <MarginBottom>0.25in</MarginBottom>
    </DeviceInfo>";
    return DeviceInfo;
    string mimeType;            string fileExtension;            Stream pageStream = serverReport.Render("IMAGE",  deviceInfo, firstPageParameters, out mimeType, out fileExtension);
    No other settings seem to have an affect on controlling the output to printer or pdf.  i.e. The deviceinfo params fed to server report's render function are all you get.  I think my original code comes from an MSDN or CodeProject example. I'm not
    inventing anything new here.
    Links below indicate similar problems but they are looking at the issue from just landscape mode. Seems like I ought to be able to squash or expand the image to whatever size I specify, separate from the 'page' size.  Please let me know what i need
    to know to make these reports print without bleeding onto 2 pages or slicing off the right side of the document image.

    Thanks!

     Hi
    FraterJoanni,
    Thanks for posting in MSDN forum.
    I am not expert in SSRS. You should get better response in SQL Server > SQL
    Server Reporting Services, Power View forum.
    After take a look at the similar threads links as you posted above.
    The conclusion is we needn’t tell the program o this report is landscape not portrait. If the width is larger than the height, the report will be printed in landscape; otherwise, it will be printed in portrait.
    >>Links below indicate similar problems but they are looking at the issue from just landscape mode.
    But in C# forum, we only from the point of code, code looks OK to me.
    A similar blog talking about this
    Controlling Page Size in a Reporting Services Report

  • Is there a report viewer control for html5 using javascript?

    VS 2005,2008,2010,2012
    SSRS-2008,2012
    I want to be able to create a simple report viewer that will run on ios, android, and win8 devices.
    I believe that the solution lay with the concept of HTML5 and javascript.
    If I use aspx and vb also HTML5, then don't I run the risk of the target device not having the required .net lbrary?
    Is that correct? Or does the server alone need the library? what about printing or saving as PDF options on the client side?
    So is there a SSRS report viewer control that I can use to create a report that runs on any device that supports HTML5? I want it to look professional.
    Or any technique or tutorial that I can look at to accomplish this goal?
    Thanks
    Jerry C

    Hi Jerry,
    To work around this issue, you can write .aspx pages using html 5 and use ReportViewer control or iframe to display the report. For more information, please see:
    http://www.hanselman.com/blog/AnnouncingTheWebStandardsUpdateHTML5SupportForTheVisualStudio2010Editor.aspx.
    Since the ReportViewer itself uses Ajax, if the mobile device doesn't support that, you're better use some type of front end code to pull data from a web service and render it.
    Besides, according to the document
    View Reporting Services Reports on Microsoft Surface Devices and Apple iOS Devices, to view and interact with a report on iPad device or Microsoft Surface device, there are several methods:
    from Email subscription
    from Windows Azure portal
    from Report Server
    from Report Manager
    from a SharePoint document library
    from SharePoint web part
    So, it seems impossible to view report through Report Viewer control on mobile devices.

    Hope this helps.

  • Can Grow Vertical Alignment Error in Embedded Report View, but not in .PDF

    Hello,
    I have seen postings about this issue before, but have yet to find a solution.
    I am using Visual Studio 2008 w/ the basic version of Crystal Reports that is included.
    I have a simple report that displays results of a stored procedure as rows across the report.  One field can be of variable length, anywhere from 0 to 100 characters.  Usually it's something reasonable (less than 40 chars), and so I have only given it so much width in the report.  For when it is longer than that, I turned the "Can Grow" property ON, and set the Maximum Number of Lines property to 0.
    When the report displays embedded in my Web Form, and this field's data is wider than the space I have allowed, it breaks the data down into multiple lines of the same correct width, as you'd expect, but those lines end up displaced vertically upward several rows, and print directly on top of other data from the above rows, make the report unreadable in that area (and quite ugly overall!).
    If I export this report to a .PDF, it displays perfectly, without the vertical displacement error.
    Anyone know what the official work is on this?  Is there a fix or is this a bug?
    If there is no fix, does anyone know how to direct the report to the .PDF file viewer, so the embedded report remains invisible (and thus hides the ugly error), but the user has the .PDF version to see?  My client ultimately wants to export the report to .PDF, which I have already coded, but it does not open the .PDF Viewer, just saves the report to disk.  However, if I use the Crystal built-in Export button, it first displays a pop-up asking which format to export to, then if .PDF is chosen and okay is clicked, the pop-up switches to contain the .PDF Viewer, and opens the report.  In my user-defined export code, the .PDF is correctly created, but I am missing the step on how to open the .PDF Viewer.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the responses.
    Jonathan, moving the field in question to its own details section (details B) did not fix the issue.  The field in question is moved slightly down as its in a new details section with sits slightly lower than details A, but when it has to be broken up into multiple lines, the same issue arises, the field text is displaced vertically upward and sits on top of other data.
    Ludek, I wanted to send the report to a .PDF Viewer in a new browser, and keep the original browser intact.  I'm using code very similar to yours.  To launch the new broswer I added this code to the Page_Load of my main browser:
    btnViewReport.Attributes.Add("onclick", "window.open(Page.aspx', """", """", 'height=200,width=400')")
    When the button is clicked the report is exported, and the new browser opens Page.aspx.
    I use this code in Page_Load of Page.aspx:
            Dim webClient As System.Net.WebClient = New System.Net.WebClient()
            Dim buffer As Byte() = webClient.DownloadData("C:\Reports\Report.pdf")
            If Not buffer.Length.Equals(0) Then
                Response.ContentType = "application/pdf"
                Response.AddHeader("content-length", buffer.Length.ToString())
                Response.BinaryWrite(buffer)
            End If
    Any other ideas on the original vertical displacement issue when using Can Grow, I'd still appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Crystal Report/STRUTS: Error (404) when clicking on Control Buttons (Print, Export, Next, Previous, etc...) on report viewer

    Post Author: jwenny
    CA Forum: Deployment
    Need help badly!!!
    We are using the crystal reports plugin for STRUTS.
    We are able to display the report in the crystal report viewer.  However, when we click any control buttons (print, export, etc...), then we get:
    JSPG0036E:  Failed to find resource /Report-viewer.jsp
    We then moved Report-viewer.jsp to the WebContents folder (root directory) and got a different error when we clicked any control button:
    Error:  400 page not found
    Does anyone know how to solve this problem?  For instance, is there a setting or parameter that needs to be set?
    Greatly appreciate any help!

    HI,
    Whenever we print the viewer does an auto postback, I believe due to this some of the values are getting missed. Moreover we are referring to the viewer and reportdocument object, it seems. So can you try this simple code in an application to see if it helps:
    ReportDocument rdoc = new ReportDocument();
    rdoc.Load("C:\TASKECrystalReports\Intraday.rpt");
    rdoc.SetDatabaseLogon("uid","pwd");
    rdoc.SetParameterValues("parameter name","value");
    CrystalReportViewer.ReportSource = rdoc;
    Helps?
    Thanks.

    i have a question to a Crystal Report document. The situation is, that i have a document in InfoView. If i open the Crystal document, it will be launch the Crystal Report viewer in the IE. The next step is to use the export function, to create a PDF Document.
    Now, i would like to open a PDF Document directly, without the Crystal Report Viewer. How can i configuration that?
    Thanks for help.

    You could always schedule the report to PDF format, then when you clicked to view the Latest Instance, it would come up in PDF format.
