PDF shows as a blank form

Created a PDF in reader and now shows as blank after I send in an e-mail; I see other people have the same issue. Can this be rectified through the reader platform or do I need to purchase other adobe products to solve this issue?

Mandeep,
Thank you. When you say "reader extend the form" I am assuming that is nothing more than a click away to allow the recepient of my form to view all content and make changes as well, if need be. I will look for the function that will allow me to "reader extend". Can you guide me to where "reader extend" can be found? I will look for it in the meantime.
Thank you again.

  • Trouble with Adobe Reader Touch on Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 in tablet mode. Pdf shows up as blank pages.

I have a Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 and when I change it to tablet mode and use the Adobe Reader Touch app, my pdf shows up as a blank page. I have installed other pdfs in the past and those show up fine. However, as of three days ago, whatever pdf I install shows up as blank on my screen. Is there a solution to fix this?

Could you please share your test file?

  • PDF show up as blank in iBooks

Does iBooks even support PDF files? I added a PDF file (it's a comic, so it contains a picture on each page) to my iBooks library in iTunes, and on my iPhone it shows up as 213 pages of nothingness. It doesn't seem to be loading (I've waited 5 minutes and not even the first page showed up) either. It views fine on my computer, I mean it's just a PDF file.
Additionally, I can't add book covers for my books either. I browse for a JPG image, it shows up in the artwork tab, I click "accept", and absolutely nothing happens, the book still has no cover and if I open up the artwork tab again it's still blank. Huh?
Finally there is a huge amount of lag on iPhone 3G for iBooks, turning the page of a TEXT-ONLY book takes like 10 seconds, opening the book takes a good 10-20 seconds.
It makes me think that iBooks is not even ready for release at this state...

I was having the same problem, but not with all of my pdfs. I noticed that the one that just wouldn't show up was an old book scan. It didn't even show page previews when I viewed it with Preview on my mac. I was able to fix the problem by opening the pdf in Preview, selecting file->print, and re-saving the document as a new pdf file. This ensured that whatever previews or metadata that were missing from the original pdf file were generated for the new one.
If you're not on a mac, I think you can use Open Office to save as a pdf.
It would be nice if iTunes noticed that an imported pdf file isn't compatible with iBooks and automatically re-generated it. It would be a pain to do this manually for many files.
    Hope this helps

  • When I send a PDF by email the recipient sees only a blank form on the iPhone and iPad. This has only occurred since IOS 7 was updated

When I send a PDF attachment by email the recipient sees only a blank unfilled form. This has only occurred since IOS 7 was updated. The email with the PDF when recieved by my MAC is OK, but my phone and iPad are not!
    Any advise would be appreciated.

I have the same problem.  Sought to insert a pdf into Apple Mail after editing a form pdf and only the blank form shows.  I didn't use Preview to generate the form, just Acrobat.  And, the filled in form inserts perfectly into an email when I use Outlook for Mac.  Problem only with Apple Mail.

  • Firefox will show PDF's but prints blank pages. Other browsers are fine, safe mode has no effect.

Currently on an HP laptop, Win8, printing to a HP Color Laser, no previous problems; all of a sudden, PDF's are printing blank pages. I can see the page fine. Safe mode without any addons has no change. I printed my taxes out and had no problems.
I've used IE (shudder) an been able to print PDF's fine. I have no PDF software itself on the computer, just using the browsers native support. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Searching shows problems loading PDF's, but my problem is printing PDF's. Using version 29 of Firefox. Anyone got any tips or clues how to hunt this down? Really close to introducing my computer to Mr. sledgehammer.

Thanks, appreciate the links for PDF driver add ons, this will be my last resort if nobody else can figure it out. I don't use Acrobat because of all their bloatware and hidden installs. I still would like to know why Firefox started printing blank pages in PDF's, but can still open the PDF's, very frustrating. Seems like a few other people are having the issue as well.

  • My form was created by FormsCentral.  I save as a PDF and emailed it to all of my club members.  When they complete the form, save it, and email it back to me, I get a blank form. Why?

My form was created by FormsCentral.  I save as a PDF and emailed it to all of my club members.  When they complete the form, save it, and email it back to me, I get a blank form. Why?

If you had iCloud backup turned on, and it made a backup - yes.  If you didn't have iCloud backup turned on - but were using iCloud for Contacts, calendars, etc.  You will get the contacts and calendars, etc back.
Purchases made with your appleID can be redownloaded as long as they are still available in the iTunes store.
If you connected your phone to a computer with iTunes, there may be a backup on there as well.

  • Why when I e-mail a PDF form, does the recipient get a blank form?

Why when I e-mail a PDF form, does the recipient get a blank form?

Using Adobe to fill in. I think it may be my browser for e-mail will not support the forms. If I convert to Word or Exel, they send just fine.

  • Show calculate field blank on a fillable form

    Hi
I have created a form with a sum calculation. Does anyone know how to show the total blank before the form is filled in. At the moment the total shows 00.00
This needed so people have the alternative to print it out blank and fill it in by hand.
I'd be glad for any help.
    Thanks
    Mags

Note that for the script to be triggered, that the calculated value of the field that it's attached to has to change. So change one of the dependent fields and then change it back so that the calculated result is zero.
In this case, it looks like a calculated result of zero might be valid. If this is the case, it would be better to use a custom calculation script and only set the calculated result to blank if all of the input fields are blank, and removed the validation script. Post again if you'd need help with this.

  • LiveCycle 8.0 Digital Signature shows Orange Flag ONLY IF Blank Form Has Submit or Email Button

My subject line says it all. After a lot of experimenting, including reinstalling Adobe Designer Standard 8.0, I have found that, in Adobe LiveCycle 8.0.1291.1.339988, my drag-and-dropped Document Signature Field will include a clickable orange flag ONLY IF the blank form I started with includes an E-mail button or Submit button. Strange but true. If you then delete these buttons, the orange clickable flag still appears fine.
    Try it...
In Adobe Designer Standard 8.0 LiveCycle:
    1. File > New.
    2. Select Use a blank form, Next.
    3. Next.
    4. In Form Return Setup dialog box, DEselect Add an Email button and DEselect Add a print button (so that both are NOT checkmarked).
    5. Click Finish.
    6. Drag a Document Signature Field to the blank page.
    7. Click PDF Review tab. Note that no orange clickable flag appears for the user then to be able to use for entering a digital signature.
    Close the page.
Try a variation now that will work (yielding an orange clickable flag):
    1. File > New.
    2. Select Use a blank form, Next.
    3. Next.
    4. In Form Return Setup dialog box, SELECT either the Add an Email button OR the Add a print button (so that either IS checkmarked).
    5. Click Finish.
    6. Drag a Document Signature Field to the blank page.
    7. Click PDF Review tab. Note that an orange clickable flag DOES appear this time for the user then to be able to use for entering a digital signature.
    8. For further test, click the Design View tab and now DELETE the displayed button.
    9. Click PDF Review. The flag is still there.
BOTTOM LINE: It at least looks like it's not just "Distribute forms" that requires that you have a button at Blank Form creation time. Also "Digital Signature" functionality requires that you display a button at Blank Form creation time -- which you can then delete.
A bug? Or do I have some major concept wrong -- maybe I'm mis-interpreting the whole Digital Signature concept and process?

Is this in the wrong forum?  The problem I am having is with Acrobat's Distribution feature.

  • What does it mean when you computer crashes and when you turn it back on it shows you a blank blue screen with a little folder and a question mark in the middle?

What does it mean when you computer crashes and when you turn it back on it shows you a blank blue screen with a little folder and a question mark in the middle? It's a old imac from 1997.

I don't have original discs that it came with.
Then you still can use the second option with the keyboard combo I posted, called "resetting the PRAM."
Also when you way hold the c key down do you mean turn computer off and turn back on holding the c key?
Yes, or you can simply restart. As you don't have the CDs, this isn't on the plate any more.
The internal backup battery is not expensive and, in most iMacs is user-replacable. If yours has a tray-loading optical drive like this one:
it takes a major teardown to replace the internal battery. If this is the case, you'd be better off to leave the computer plugged in all the time; that eliminates the main reason for having a working battery.
If it has a slot-loading optical drive like this one:
things are much easier. The battery is visible through the RAM access door on the bottom of the computer case. The manual:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iMacG3_2000UserManual.PDF
has sketches of how to access the RAM and therefore the backup battery. Unfortunately, the pdf on the manual goes up sideways on-screen and the RAM instructions are pretty deep into the manual. It's probably easier to scroll (for a while) to the section on adding RAM and print the applicable pages.
When you work on the battery, some sort of non-conductive pliers or large tweezer or forceps help unless you have tiny fingers. Make sure to note the polarity of the old battery and install the new one in the same orientation.
The battery itself is readily available. If price is no oblect, you can get it for a small rasom from Radio Shack Store ("Tandy" outside the US) as part number 23-026.
Online, they are dirt-cheap even after adding shipping. I buy backup batteries form this outfit:

  • Answer text not showing up on fillable form

I created a fillable PDF and occasionally when it is returned with filled in information you can't see the text they entered until clicking on that particular line.
Example we ask for the persons name, address etc. When looking at the form it looks completely blank where answers are to be typed. When you click on that line, the answer shows but only on that line. When you click on the next line that answer appears but the previous answer no longer shows.
    Help!!!

As Bernd mentioned, this is most likely caused by the form being used with Preview, which corrupts PDF forms in a number of ways. The best thing you can do now is open the form in Acrobat and export the form data to an FDF/XFDF file. Then open the original blank form and import the data file. The fields will populate with the data in the file and you can save it.
You may have to prepare a special version of the blank file if the form uses JavaScript or other means to show/hide fields, spawn templates, and other types of dynamic behavior. The idea is that all of the fields should be visible so the imported data is shown.

  • 2 questions - I have downloaded the PDF Reader - Annotate, Scan , Fill Forms and Take Notes app to m

When I fill out a form within this app and email it out the recipient receives a blank form, I looked in the manual and it says make sure you complete the saving process, but cannot seem to figure that part out.
Also, these are forms I will be using on a daily basis and do not want to make permanent changes to the form, is this possible? Or will I need to create several copies of the form?
Please help, as this is time sensitive subject.

Can you please tell us what the recipient is using to view the PDF? Many viewers don't support viewing filled PDF forms and the recipient will need to use a PDF viewer like the Adobe Reader to view the form.
You can make a copy of your form like this:
In the file browser under Documents view, you should see an Edit button. Tap the edit button.
Tap the file you want to copy
Tap the duplicate/move button (two small documents at the bottom of the screen)
    Tap Duplicate
That creates a duplicate copy of the document. You can then use the edit button to rename if you would like.

  • Get PDF file from a Portal Form or Report

Hello All and thanks for your help in advance.
I am developing a portal application with a requirement to retrieve from our Oracle iFS document repository PDF a PDF file based on entered forms criteria or as a result from a return from a QBE report.
Will someone please provide guidance on this. It would be most appreciated.

    Hi,
    There are a few options:
You could have a button in the form with the following Javascript
in the Click event have   app.openDoc("/c/temp/myDoc.pdf"); // check Acrobat Javascript reference for full options
I think that there is a security issue with this method and therefore the PDF would need to be certified and the script run in a privileged context.
    OR
You could include the static form on the last page(s) of your dynamic form. Set the presence of these page(s) to hidden in the Object / Field tab. Then within your dynamic form pages have a button "Show Static Form" with the following Javascript:
in the mouseDown event have   form1.pSTATIC.presence = "visible"; //This will make the static page visible
in the Click event have  xfa.host.currentPage = pSTATIC.thisPage.rawValue - 1; //This will jump the user to the static page
Lastly you could have a print button on the static form page, which will only print that page. Place an invisible numericField (called thisPage) on the static page with the following Javascript:in the Layout: Ready event have   this.rawValue = xfa.layout.page(this); //This flags the page number of the static form, which may vary because of the dynamic nature of the form
Then the print button would reference that page number, in the click event have:
    xfa.host.print(1,(thisPage.rawValue -1).toString(), (thisPage.rawValue -1).toString(), 0, 1, 0, 0, 0); //Prints static page only
form1.pSTATIC.presence = "hidden"; //Automatically hides the static page after printing
    xfa.host.currentPage = "0"; //Jumps the user back to page 1
I know the second option may appear more involved. But it does keep both the static and dynamic versions together in one PDF. Also if there are some fields that can be predetermined, then they can be filled in to the static form before printing (or they can be assigned to the corresponding fields in the dynamic form using the global binding).
    Good luck,
    Niall
