PDF-stacks on Android and web viewer?

When is Android Viewer going to support PDF-stacks? When it happens, the ipad-folios can be recycled on Android-tabs, and the iphone-folios on android phones.
And what about the web viewer? We would love using the sharing-functionality, but the lack of pdf-support will force us to use png instead of pdf.
Any chanche of solving this soon?

The unavailabilty of PDF support in Android is the only reason we do not publish to Android devices. Most of our customers are not ready to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to re-author a print layout for a digital device. Makes a lot more commercial sense to just publish the print layout to digital for now. That works fine on iOS because we can publish as PDF and readers can Pan & Zoom the content. With no DPS PDF support for Android you end up with an un-zoomable page which is frankly unreadable.

I use Firefox browser and each time I go to open an email attachment in gmail I have to save it and then click on it again to view it. The view button goes directly to SAVE AS. How can I disable save as and use view?

I was running FF 7.0.1, & having the Same problem - I Solved it...
I loaded 8.0 (Beta 2), then 3.6.23... problem persisted. I use "PDF-XChange Viewer"... I Uninstalled it, then Installed the newest version (2.5.199.0). That Solved the problem in all 3 of the above versions of FF. I believe it has something to do with the "Viewer" Plug-In being contained within the install file.
Mozilla Help refers to this procedure, but they refer to "Acrobat" specifically. Evidently it works with more than just Acrobat.
Hope this helps someone else, so they need not spend as much time on it as I did.

PDF stored in database and to view the PDF when clicking on a link

Is it possible to save a PDF document in the database as a blob column and to retrieve the PDF when clicking on the link
Example

This Upload and Download Files is very useful feature in APEX.
However, is there a way of displaying PDF files first in the report by clicking the corresponding link
in the table?
I mean, is it possible to view PDF files first by clicking the link before deciding to download them?
As we see, this approach is used by most websites and after opening and viewing a PDF file, we can save them.

Link to local PDF-file / or html (not web-view)

i posted this in the prerelease-forum and got no answear so i thought i give it a try and post here.
i see it is possible to link to a local pdf file with the webview function.
but i want to show a local pdf-file in the app-browser. the one in which linked websites are shown and where i can click "done" to close the window.
i've seen it f.e. in the "new yorker" app where f.e. the cartoon gallery is shown in this browser, so it has to be possible.
does anybody know how this could work?

Adobe Edge generated animations won't play on Android Devices (PDF Stack animation only iOS)

Hi,
I'm was using Adobe Edge 1.0.1.204.X (Windows 7 64bit) to generate a simple animation in order to export it as OML and place it in Adobe Indesign CS6 (Windows 7 64bit).
The animation is as follows:
Backgroundpicture (1024x768) fades in
Three textboxes fade in one-after-one
Then I exported the Edge-Project as .OML and placed (CTRL-D) it on my Indesign Folio. When I try to test the Folio locally on my Windows machine it throws the following error: PDF-Stack only supported by iOS Devices. Then I tried it on my Android Phone and it threw the same error. Does Adobe plan to integrate the PDF-Stacks into Windows and/or Android Viewer?

PDF format is not supported on Android, save your folio as jpg or png.
By the way everything you describe can be easily done in DPS, andy reason to be doing it in Edge Animate? just curious :-)

PDF fast web view option don't work like the specification Acrobat Reader suggest...

I have an optimized/linear PDF file for support fast web viewing option.
My issue is about the plugin comportment. In the Adobe specification, when the plugin receive a large optimized PDF file, he suppose to be began to read and show the PDF file after the first page received from the web server.
In my case it's not worked properly. The plugin show me the PDF file after the download finish.
When I check the Acrobat Reader 8.1 internet settings, all fast web view options are checked properly.
If I look the PDF file properties the fast web view value is yes.
I don't know what is wrong in my setup.
Some help will be appreciate.

When I try ti read à published folio that i export from FOLIO PRODUCER.
I try to read the FOLIO format on my CONTENT VIEWER
UNTREATED PDF STACK in the PREVIEWER - content viewer on MACINTOSH
Is it because i have not the good Subscription for that ?

Related to this, is there a document which specifically and clearly explains the restrictions of the Desktop Content Viewer?
I.e.:
- Not able to display PDF format Folios
- Not able to play video formats .xyz and .xyy
- Not able to play audio formats .xyz and .xyy
etc
I've looked, but not been able to find a document that provides this information yet.
If it exists could you please provide a link?

Fast web view & Tagged PDF

when we right click on PDF and go to Document Property and then
I found that in Description tab at botton side is
their are two Line
1st is Tagged PDF : Yes
2nd is Fast Web View : Yes
how to set then Yes or Enable them?

Enable Fast Web View using ODC

Please guide me how to enable "Fast Web View" Property to PDF which generated using Oracle Document Capture.
Fast Web View:
Fast Web View restructures a PDF document for page-at-a-time downloading (byte-serving) from web servers. With Fast Web View, the web server sends only the requested page, rather than the entire PDF. This is especially important with large documents that can take a long time to download from a server.
Verify that an existing PDF is enabled for Fast Web View:
Do one of the following:
■Open the PDF in Acrobat, and choose File > Properties. Look in the lower right area of the Description panel of the dialog box for the Fast Web View setting (Yes or No).
■(Windows only) In Windows Explorer, right-click the PDF file icon and choose Properties. Click the PDF tab and look near the bottom of the panel for the Fast Web View setting (Yes or No).

Hi Nikhil,
From fast Web View do you mean that your PDF is taking time in opening? If this is the case, then generally it depends on the amount of data you are displaying on the form, if your form has large number of drop downs with huge data then it will take time in displaying the form.
Other problem may be the version of the form, Adobe 8.0.1 takes more time in opening, SAP Note 1104060 can help you if you are on version 8.

Currently, Adobe Reader for Android does not provide an option to disable auto-save.
In the Reader home screen (where your files are displayed), you can make a copy of the original PDF document, open the copy (instead of opening the original document), make changes to the copy. Once you email the copy, you can delete it.
For more information, please see Help > How To... > Copy, edit, delete, manage.
Although it is not the most convenient way to accomplish the task, that's the only feasible workaround that is available in Adobe Reader for Android right now.

Problems with fast web view and really large PDF files.

If "allow speculative downloads in background" is set then the Fast Web view becomes nonfunctional. Reader is makeing the HTTP Byte range requests but will ask for almost the entire PDF file in one range (180 MB of the 182 MB file).
If "allow speculative downloads in background" is not set then Fast Web view is working fine, Reader is making more HTTP Byte range requests but the larges ones are still small 20K or so.
Is this behavior being experianced by anyone else?
What are the disadvantages, if any, of having "allow speculative downloads in background" turned off?
My environment:
182 MB pdf file (Optimized) around 41,000 pages. I have also seen this with 42 MB and 25 MB pdf files.
IE 6
Reader 9.2
Apache webservers (On Solaris Apache 1.3.20 and Linux Apache 2.0)

Hi,
The signing tool use Capicom (Library from .NET) to generate attached digital signature. I also tried signing with .net class SignedCms but the result is the same. What I don't understand is why some PDFs are working and others are not.
For example, I uploaded here a signed PDF which can be opened up succesfully: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/104591126/PDFs/Signed_Dummy1.pdf (it is the same PDF but I didn't enable the fast web view)
Can you suggest other signing method?

If I have an interactive PDF form on Android, is there any way to make a form field that will open the camera and insert the photo in the field?
