Peak Detection and Display of TDMS file of 4 channels

The Peak Detection and Display sample VI in the NI Example finder is exactly what I am looking for but I would like to use a recoded TDMS file as its input. The TDMS file is a 4 channel data file.
Does someone have an example code on how to do this?

Block Peak Detection and Display

I am doing a project on a spike check automation program in Labview. I am trying to detect the peaks and valleys from a probe test on a wafer.The probes are attached to the wafer and connect to an oscilloscope. Right now finding the peaks and valleys are done manually but take a lot of time from one pin.
My program has to optimally run for 20 seconds and, at every interval, of let’s say 20microseconds, has to take the worst case scenario for the peaks and take the screenshot from the oscilloscope and save it until the worst case scenario in the next block on 20 microseconds until the 30 seconds are up.
I am using LV 2010 and I don’t have experience with LV before. I have researched and found a VI called waveform peak detector which seems helpful but I am not sure how to save a screenshot at each interval or block.
I am also unsure on what to put in a loop so my program can run continuously for 30 seconds without stopping. I also have the instrument drivers for my particular oscilloscope so I can control the scope from my computer and LV program.
Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance for your assistance.

I want to open a new browser window and display the html file in local drive. The below html applet work in local system successfully. But i deploy the same in web server (Tomcat) and try the same in client machine it does not work. Please help.
Note:
The class below fileopen.FileOpen.class i make it as a jar and put it in jre\ext folder at the client machine.

The best audience for applets is people off the internet. 'People off the internet' might be using a computer that has no (what was it?) 'open.html' in the root of the C: drive. In fact (shock horror) they may not even be running Windows, and would therefore probably have no 'C:' drive at all.
If you do not intend to distribute this to people off the web, an application makes a lot more sense, but even then, you cannot rely on the document being there unless you 'put it there' (during installation, for instance).
As the other poster intimated, applets can load documents off the local disk as long as they are trusted. Here is an example*, but note that it is not so rash as to presume any particular path or file, and instead leaves it to the user to choose the document to display.

I am pretty sure showDocument() in an applet off the internet will work with an URL pointing to a foreign (not its own) server, but it will not be able to load documents off the end user's local disks.
I suggest a couple of things.
- Try to express this problem in terms of what feature it is that you want to offer the end user. Your question jumps directly to a bad strategy for achieving ..who knows what? An example of a feature is "Shows the applet 'help' files on pressing F1".
- A good way to indicate interest in a solution is to offer [Duke stars|http://wikis.sun.com/display/SunForums/Duke+Stars+Program+Overview] to match that interest.

Solution
Assuming a fresh "Complete" install of Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2,
here are steps to get a small test form running, using WebUtil 1.06.
Note: [OraHome] is used as an alias for your real oDS ORACLE_HOME.
Feel free to copy this note to a text editor, and do a global find/replace on
[OraHome] with your actual value (no trailing slash). Then it is easy to
copy/paste actual commands to be executed from the note copy.
1) Download http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jacob-project/jacob_18.zip
and extract to a temporary staging area. Do not attempt to use 1.7 or 1.9.
2) Copy or move jacob.jar and jacob.dll
[JacobStage] is the folder where you extracted Jacob, and will end in ...\jacob_18
     cd [JacobStage]
     copy jacob.jar [OraHome]\forms\java\.
     copy jacob.dll [OraHome]\forms\webutil\.
The Jacob staging area is no longer needed, and may be deleted.
3) Sign frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar
Open a DOS command prompt.
Add [OraHome]\jdk\bin to the PATH:
     set PATH=[OraHome]\jdk\bin;%PATH%
Sign the files, and check the output for success:
     [OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar
     [OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\jacob.jar
4) If you already have a schema in your RDBMS which contains the WebUtil stored code,
you may skip this step. Otherwise,
Create a schema to hold the WebUtil stored code, and privileges needed to
connect and create a stored package. Schema name "WEBUTIL" is recommended
for no reason other than consistency over the user base.
Open [OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql in a text editor, and delete or comment
out the EXIT statement, to be able to see whether the objects were created witout
errors.
Start SQL*Plus as SYSTEM, and issue:
     CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY [password]
     DEFAULT TABLESPACE users
     TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
     GRANT CONNECT, CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO webutil;

5) Modify [OraHome]\forms\server\default.env, and append [OraHome]\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar
to the CLASSPATH entry.
6) Start the OC4J instance
7) Start Forms Builder and connect to a schema in the RDBMS used in step (4).
Open webutil.pll, do a "Compile ALL" (shift-Control-K), and generate to PLX (Control-T).
It is important to generate the PLX, to avoid the FRM-40039 discussed in
Note 303682.1
If the PLX is not generated, the Webutil.pll library would have to be attached with
full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is NOT recommended.
8) Create a new FMB.
Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the Webutil object to the form.
There is no need to Subclass the WebutilConfig object.
Attach the Webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
Add an ON-LOGON trigger with the code
         NULL;
to avoid having to connect to an RDBMS (optional).
Create a new button on a new canvas, with the code
         show_webutil_information (TRUE);
in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
Compile the FMB to FMX, after doing a Compile-All (Shift-Control-K).
9) Under Edit->Preferences->Runtime in Forms Builder, click on "Reset to Default" if
the "Application Server URL" is empty.
Then append "?config=webutil" at the end, so you end up with a URL of the form
      http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil

It is possible to embed a Xcelsius model into an SAP WebTemplate (Anil promised to write a blog about this very soon). After that you can include the WebTemplate in the GUI menu, Role menu or Portal.

Write to measurement file Express VI - TDMS file has separate "channels" for each data point

Im trying to write a VI to measure and record thermocouple data from an Advantech T/C DAQ. Using the "DAQNavi" express VI provided by them, connected to the Write to Measurement File express VI, I have managed to read in the data and create a TDMS file. However, when I open the TDMS file, each time step of temperature data is entered as a separate channel, instead of all of the channel data going into one tab. Obviously this is a huge problem as it creates hundreds of tabs after just a few seconds. Any thoughts as to what causes this?

How did you configure the Write to Measurement Express VI? Please select "one header only".
If you have your own timestamps to write, please merge your timestamp channel and measurement channels with "Merge Signals" before passing them to the Write to Measurement.

How to fetch and display arbitrary log files from a managed host?

We are creating a small management portal for a custom application and need a way to display, in a browser, the contents of an arbitrary log file located on an EM managed host. The effect we are looking for is similar to what you get when you show the contents of a database alert log using EM.
I want to extend the EM agent to get the log and display the contents, but see two problems: (1) it seems like we would have to schedule the fetch of the log contents to happen on a regular basis and would not be able to do it on demand and (2) storing the results in the EM repository seems like it could consume a pile of storage, even if it only stores the logs for 24 hours.
I am pretty sure we can bypass the repository somehow because I think the "show database alert log" EM process does so. Of course, I can't really be sure how this code is getting the alert log, but it seems reasonable to assume it is using the management agent.
Is there some API for the EM Agent that I am missing?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

From within OEM it doesnt look possible. User defined metrics (UDM) can only return number or a string. The alertlog fetch is done via alertlogViewer.pl while being passed a couple of parameters.
OEM does have a preliminary/rough api available at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/oem/emx/index.html but I havent seen anyone make use of it yet.
If you use just a web connection then you will probably run into security issues as a web server can usually only view/access stuff under their htmldoc dir.
Seems like some non-OEM very custom code is what you seek..

Reading and displaying from a file

I want my program to be able to read from a file stored on disk and display the contents of the file to a terminal window. I use blueJ if that makes any difference. Can anyone help me with the code to do that please.

Look at the java.io package.
In particular the FileReader, BufferedReader, PrintWriter, and OutputStreamWriter classes.

Include text file and display from text file

Ok. I'm found the site with the monkey on the the flash thing and all it shows is a name, email and something else and I used it and it works by including a txt file and displaying text from that file as putting down this information

and I can't find the site anymore to get help.
I want to know how to include a PHP script that shows this information like this
text=something I need&username=My Name&email=[email protected]
I want to show this stuff on the flash but every time I execute by using it as localhost/test.php, it will show a sentax error.
This is really stressing me out and I need a lot of help on this stuff.

ok. let me describe something else.
there's 3 text boxes that is dynamic text.
one of them is called name
the other one is called email
and last one is called location
in the text file, it shows this for importing to the flash file

When viewing the flash file that you created, it shows the name, it shows the email, and it shows location.
When I do it on my own even with a text file, it keeps on saying that there is an error on line 1.
I found a site that shows how to do it and it shows what to put in a text file, and it shows the action script. On the FLA file that he shows me has a monkey on the flash file and it has 3 text boxes that I described above. As well as the text file, it is the same. I used the example and it worked but I can't find the example again. I don't know what happened to the website and I don't know what happened to the download I had but it is not downloaded any more. I have adanced systemcare pro so it clears out my recent web searches and my recent downloads so I can't find it. I did a google search on anything about action scripts. I even did a monkey action script search and I couldn't find it.
It's making me mad and I don't know what to do. This is stressing me out way more than you think.

hi i need to do some validation! actually in my program the delivering country and the import code works as the key. so i need to check that the delivering country and the import code is present in a table t604.(i am updating data from presentation server to an internal table)
and also i need to check that whether the country of origin is in the table t005 or not.
if the validations are success then put those into a log file and dsiplay otherwise put the error record in a log file and display and also the total; no of error records and the no of records!!

2 Channel peak detection and value look up

Hi all,
I have 2 different sin waves going into channel 1 and channel 2 of an oscilloscope. What I'm trying to do is:
1. From Channel 1's input determine the time when peak values occur and save them to an array
2. Then find out what channel 2's voltage output is at times determined from step 1.
I started doing this project by only using 1 channel where I was able to extract the y data as well as plug it into peak detection.vi.
However after I merge the two channels together and proceed like I did with 1 channel labview shows disconnected wires due to data incompatability.
Any help would be greately appreciated on how I can locate channel 1's peak times and plug those time values to determine output values for channel 2.

The VI is broken because you are connecting an array of waveforms with VI's that are asking for a single waveform. You need to use Index Array to break out one or the other waveform to feed to the other VI's.

Peak Detection and Integration

I have been trying to design a reliable way to detect and integrate seven reactor zone temperature profiles. First, I tried to modify the peak 3.0 example to suit my needs, but alas, it does not work as envisioned (i.e it never detects the correct baseline with my data but it works with the peak 3.0 data set). Does anyone know of a reliable way to detect and integrate peaks of varying length in Labview? I will attach a copy of my vi in hopes of a solution. I attached a Savinsky-Golay smoothed experimental data set of one reactor zone. Thanks for your time!

In general, I've found working with either the 1st or 2nd derivatives to be more reliable when doing peak searches.

I found out, how it was going wrong.
When the applet started, it didn't start with the method init(), as it should do, it started with the constructor. Because there was no document the method childCount() throws a exception. After this, the method init() startet reading the file and started the constructor again, but the results were not shown.
After knowing this I decided to write the Applet again and now it's working fine.

Script to auto zero channels in a TDM file with multiple channel groups

Hi friends,
I am trying to process some data but am having trouble modifying a script to autozero channels across multiple channel groups. The following script works to zero channels across one group. I use this script to process data in a TDM file with only one channel group. I need to be able to zero channels across multiple groups (5 groups). But the amount of groups I will have may change so I might need an option to enter the amount of groups or have the script determine the amount of groups in my TDM file.

Yes i am connecting through client side(TOAD).
When i continously execute the query then there is no problem. But problem occurs when i sits idle more than approx. 2 minutes.
Listner is properly running at server side.
Also while connecting though toad
1st Error is

Then it connects.
What is the problem?
Where i can look into?
