PeekByte exception between sunos 5.9 and windows 2000

Hi.
I have a server running on sunos5.9.
When my client, running on windows 2000, tries to read from the server with readObject() I get EOFException.
The client works perfectly when running the server on a windows 2000 machine.
appreciate help or hints

Here is my stacktrace. Thanks by the way for taking time...

Hi all, i can't sync over wifi between my iPhone 4 and Windows 7 64 bit, wifi sync works with the same phone and my Windows 8 machine so the problem seems confined to Windows 7. I've tried solutions from other threads -
Making sure everything is allowed through firewall
    Rebooting phone/laptop/router
    Disabling ipv6
Disabling all networks except the one curently on
    Re-installing iTunes
    Restoring iPhone
No luck with any of those unfortunately so i just thought i'd see if anyone else is still without wifi sync after trying those as well and if you ever found a fix, thanks.

I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

  • Leopard / Bootcamp / Vista / Copy Files Between Mac OS X and Windows

On the apple page it says I can copy files from mac to windows?
"Copy Files Between Mac OS X and Windows
Copy, open, modify, or delete files in Mac OS X that you saved to your Windows partition. Leopard understands the Windows FAT32 disk format."
I tried installing Vista in bootcamp, but it says I cannot install in FAT32? So i format it to NTFS.
So here's my question, Can i still copy files between mac and pc, if I format into NTFS or am using vista?
    Thanks

I am quite a simple soul really and very easily pleased.
All I seek is a partition of some sort that I can save all my created work to - whether in XP Pro or OS X 10.5. But it has to be a large partition - probably a single partition on a large drive.
It would be sweeter still for Spotlight to do what it does (and it does on a FAT partition) and sweeter still for Time Machine to be very user friendly and do what it presently does not do and include created files into the TM.
Now that really would be very pleasant. Very pleasant indeed.

  • Acrobat 3D and Windows 2000

Everyone that has the Windows 2000 operating system has problems with the Acrobat 3D models. The models were created using Windows XP and were tested using Windows XP. I am assuming that Acrobat 3D and Windows 2000 are incompatible. Adobe states Windows 2000 compatibility. Does anyone know why users with Windows 2000 are having problems with my models?
    Thanks

Yes, I have checked the version and they have Reader 7.0.8. I also checked that they have the latest version of DirectX. Of course there are a number of remote Windows2000 users, so I haven't the ability to check the service pack installations, graphics drivers, and so on. Many of these users are schedule to be upgraded to new laptops (with Windows XP installed).
I also have the most recent version of Acrobat 3D and have installed all the updates.
It seems the problems are different among different users, but everyone seems to have some type of problem when using Acrobat 3D and Win2000.

Is there a workaround to either force the device-specific version to work on Win7 of get the 6600 to work with the normal PC Suite?
Sure you can. Install in XP compatibility mode as admin.

  • Can i setup a secure reverse proxy using sun one web proxy server and windows 2000?

I've tried this on IPlanet Proxy 3.6 and, after reading the documentation, realized that SSL is not supported on the Windows platform. So I'm asking if it is supported using Sun One Web Proxy Server

    Hi,
Yes, What you say is right.
"The NT and Windows 2000 versions of iPlanet Web Proxy Server 3.6 do not support SSL".
Sun One Web Proxy Server is as same as iPlanet webproxy server.
May be in future relase of proxy server SSL will be supported in Win2000.

  • Re: Difference between xVM VirtualBox RDP and Windows RDP

    Hi Volker,
There are pros and cons for both, the main advantages are:
    VirtualBox RDP (VRDP)
    * Full Desktop Life Cycle (BIOS -> OS)
    * Supports Windows 2000+,OpenSolaris and Linux OSs
    Windows RDP
    * VDI forwards auth. to Desktop (User only logs in once at Desktop Selector)

What exactly is the issue your seeing?
Using Windows RDP, when a user logs into the Desktop Selector (which queries your LDAP), this username and password will be passed to the Desktop via RDP. If the credentials don't exist on the Desktop Windows will show an error and ask the user to re-enter the username and password.

  • Netbeans and Windows 2000 Server Problems

I've tried to run netbeans on my windows 2000 server OS a few times. It usually doesn't work out and I have to go back to pcGrasp.
Does anyone out there know of any issues between netbeans and this OS. Is it worth it. I'd like to move away from the .net world and learn j2EE but I'd like to move up my IDE. Netbeans seems like the best choice. Does any experienced individuals out there know of a better one?
This was my latest error with netbeans. From just opening a folder??? I also tried to report it - I still have to wait another hour after I registered before I could HOPEFULLY find where exactly I can report it. Maybe thats why there are so many bugs. They make it impossible to report something they tell you to report to help out.
    A java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException exception has occurred.
    Please report this at http://www.netbeans.org/issues.html,
including a copy of your ide.log file as an attachment.
The ide.log file is located in your C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\.netbeans\3.6\system folder.
    Thanks for anything

I use Windows 2000 Professional and have not problems.
    I would suggest,
    - ensure you have all windows updates.
    - ensure you have JDK 1.4.2_04
    - try eclipse which is also free (From IBM) http://www.eclipse.org/

  • Media Sync and Windows 2000

    Hello,
I'm using for few days a BlackBerry Curve 8900 with a PC under Windows 2000.
Did anybody kept the installation package for Media Sync V2, which seems to be compatible with Windows 2000 ?
Only the V3 is available on the BlackBerry site.

    Hello,
Apparently windows 7 and media sync do not currently work together. What I mean by this is that when installing Blackberry Media Sync I receive a message explaining to me that "an unsupported operating system was detected. The following operating systems are supported: Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista." After this, the installation explains that it will now exit without setting up. Is there something that I can do to get around this. I mean obviously I can just remove the SD Card and insert it into my laptop that way to make change but I would much rather be able to make changes to my media through the Desktop Manager.
Thanks for any help in advance.
Hi and welcome to the forums!
You can use a PC to transfer info between the PC and the media card.
Basically you will attach the USB to the BB and the PC. Don't use desktop
manager. Go to "My Computer" on the PC and the BB will show as a flash drive.
Then you can "drag and drop" files to the BB.
Use the following settings in the memory option of the Storm:
    Media card support ON
    Encryption mode NONE
Media transfer protocol ON (Storm and Bold only)
    Mass storage support ON
Auto enable Mass storage support when connected ON
    Thanks,

  • Hanging problems with JRE 1.4.0 and Windows 2000

We have written a Java application which is an editor using Swing components. Most of us happily run it on Windows 2000 PCs with a decent PC spec of 512 Mb RAM and 1 Gb Processors and Java JDK 1.4.0 installed. However, other users with smaller spec PCs of 128 Mb RAM and 450 MHz processors and using only the Java Runtime Environment v1.4.0 keep making the application hang.
I've done plenty of debugging and investigation and am now convinced that this is not our application software that is causing the problems - the hangs are never consistent in their behaviour. I don't think that lack of memory is the problem either as it hangs with no other application running and it only uses a small amount itself.
So what could cause this problem ? Is there a significant difference between using the JDK and JRE ? Could it be PC spec ? Are there some config settings that I should check ?
Any help would be appreciated as the application has become unusable for our users when we seem to be having no problems at all !
    Sarah.

I have been tring to track down a similar problem for quite some time, with no luck as of yet. On 4 out of 6 machines running Windows 2000 Pro, any application that I write using any graphical component AWT or Swing, will hang at run time using JDK 1.4. I have no solution for you but I am hoping this message might spark some more advice.

  • ACS and Windows 2000 user database communication port

Could my Windows 2000 SP4 + ACS v3.23 can install any new Windows 2000 service pack ?
I'm affraid to infect ACS Service.
So, I want to install firewall on this server to block malicious traffic.
However, my ACS used external user database Windows 2000 for authentication.
Who can tell me What protocols or port list they are communication?
I have to avoid these traffic on my firewall.

    Hi cheng
I think you can install any servie pack without problem and the SP4 is the latest one for WIN2000 and you server already has this SP
For your second question you need to specify many protocols according to your active directory config in this link you can find a list of this protocols and the best way is to make debug or logging or use a siniffer to know the exactly protocols flow between your ACS and AD server

  • N86 and Windows 2000

My new N86 8MP came with a CD with OVI Suite software ( a Help file implies version 1.1).  This says it is compatible with Windows XP (SP2) or later.  My own OS is Windows 2000 Pro.
Is there any known software I can download that will permit info exchange and compatibility between the N86 and Microsoft's Windows 2000?  Am I best to try to sell the N86 and try another phone?

    Leonard1900 wrote:

Surely the most sensible option would be to update your computer to an OS that was released in this century?   You'll struggle to find a modern phone that still has full support for that old OS!
Time moves on and eventually support has to end for old products.
Even with an unsupported OS you can still transfer files to the phone using bluetooth (if your PC has bluetooth). You could also try online services for managing your phone such as ovi.com.

  • Will iTunes work with an old IBM Thinkpad and Windows 2000?

I am trying to set up my daughter's old ThinkPad 380XD so she can use it with her new iPod Nano. I have loaded Windows 2000 SP 4, with the latest MS updates. I have tried the iTunes setup that came on the CD with the iPod as well as downloading iTunes from the Apple website.
I have been able to get both iTunes and QuickTime installed and can launch QuickTime ok. When I try to launch iTunes, I get a message that says "iTunes.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created." When I check the event log, I do not find any entries that match the time or description of the iTunes message.
I have looked at previous posts for this problem and do not see a clear solution except to disable firewalls or anti virus programs. I don't have either operating but I do see that I only have 32Meg of RAM and iTunes would like 128Meg. Is this the cause of the problem and would it affect iTunes and not QuickTime? If RAM is the problem, is there any solution other than increasing the physical RAM?
    Thanks in advance.
      Windows 2000

Sorry, no. You would have to have 2000 at least to be compatible.
Also, iTunes will not work without QT, as QT is the playback software used by iTunes.
