People in group call not hearing voices?

Since a couple days ago, at least one of the people in the group call my friends and I use will not be able to hear anyone in the call, but we can hear them. This happened to me too and I tried everything, uninstalling sykpe, restarting computer, even using skype on my phone and Ipad, and even then I still couldnt hear their voices but they could hear me, and this is what happens to my friends too. Anyone know a solution? Thanks!

Yes, block/ignore function is mandatory in every application which provides some kind of group chat functionality. Especially if these group chats are somewhat persistent like they are in skype. I don't understand why this MOD "Ellie" suggests the things she did in her post. Do you really think that when there is 5-20 people in the group chat, everyone tolerates everyones... "potentially constructive" or "worthwhile postings" like Ellie described the messages. I can answer this myself. The answer is no, people won't tolerate each other and they shouldn't because there should be ignore/block function available also in the group chats. Jeez, why do I have to even explain this stuff... Please, implement ignore/block function to the group chats.

Video Group call not working

Hello! I have recently purchased a laptop with Windows 8.1 with pre-installed Skype application. When When I video-call a single person, everything is working normally, and I am able to see the other person. However, when making a group call, I am the only one that cannot see neither of the parties, though I am able to hear them. I do have the latest Skype application. Also, I cannot recieve pictures. Where is the problem?

Hi there, I am having a similar problem. When I make group video calls (on my PC with Windows 8.1), the people on macs or iphones can only be heard but not seen. And I get a message on my screen that says something like their version doesn't support group video? But I've done everything the forums says:
1) they have the latest iPhone and just downloaded Skype which is the newest version (no older versions here)
2) I'm the one hosting the call, so they're just joining in (because I know iPhone can't host, but they're supposed to be able to join group video chats).
3) I've added their name to my contacts list and dragged their contact into the group call box to initiate the call (so they're not joining in later, they're there at the start of the call).
4) And we tested prior to the group call to make sure that one-on-one video calling is working.
5) Everyone else on the call who are on a PC has the group video chat working fine.
6) Only calling with 3-4 people in a group.
What am I missing? Please help.

It would seem to be a platform/OS issue. I recently got a new webcam to work with my Kubuntu 14.10 desktop. It works fine when in a one on one call but will not handle video in a group call. I could hear all the other parties, but there was no video from that computer in either direction in the grouup call. To test my premise we tried it on my Android tablet as well. It did, however, work fine on my laptop running Windows 8.1.

I have the same problem on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, also if I will move soon to 14.04 LTS 64bit.
But the reason stay in the supported platforms.
When group video calls feature will be implemented also for Linux platforms?

I can't see other people I'm group calls on my mobile device and they can't see me. Is this just my phone or is it skype.

SPA112 can not hear voice on my android phone with CSipSimple

I configure a SPA112 and between lines 1 and 2 the calls and answers is ok (I receive, attend calls and hear the voice). When my cell phone call for any of the rows, is also okay. The problem is when one of the lines dials to my cell phone. I answer calls and only hear noises in the cell and the line is silent. I've used iptables the, seep show peers (in asterisk 1.8) is ok, etc. ... my dial plan is: (* xx | [3469] 11 | 0 | 00 | [2-9] xxxxxx | 1xxx [2-9] xxxxxxS0 | xxxxxxxxxxxx. )
e.g.: I'm using dyndns ... Does the problem is with RTP port?? Or codec?

It is sould like RTP issue part of RTP is codec. If it is codec issue you can go to:
ATA GUI --> select admin mode in top right site, Select Advanced mode in top right site
select Voice in menu bar,
Line 1:
go to Audio Configuration section
Preferred Codec G711u
Second Preferred Codec G711a
Thired preferred Codec G729a
click Save,
do same setting in your Line 2 because you useing two lines
example: if your ATA IP is 192.168.1.100
go to your router port forrwarding and make rules UDP port 10000 to Port 30000 to your ATA 192.168.1.100
another port forwarding for SIP UDP port 5060 to port 5080 to your ATA 192.168.1.100

Group calls not working

For the last 2 days, group call feature does not work at all. I use this feature every day for my work.. I must have it.
When I add the 2nd caller to the call, it will not dial out if it is a POT, or it will not connect if it is a SKYPE user online.
If I create a group call prior to connecting, the button to initiate the call does not function.
I unstalled skype, delete the app directory, and reinstalled skype.
It still does work.
I am running windows 7 professional 64 bit on a dual processor with 8 GB RAM.

Hi, this morning I noticed my bluetooth radio was on.
I turned it off.
That didn't work.
I went to another machine and signed on there (Windows 7 home premium, QUAD 8 GB). That machine was running 7.3. It allowed the group calls.
I signed out and went back to the first machine running 7.4. It now works!
Hopefully this is resolved.

When receiving or answering phone calls - cannot hear voice unless I turn on the speaker - did not have to do this before

Do you mean put a song as your voicemail message?
If so check with your service provider.
If not, you can't make the people who are calling you hear the ringtone you have put for them (unless of course they are in the same room as you are).

Group calls on Philips TV

We bought very expensive camera for Philips TV just to figure out that we can not have group calls. not even with cameras off. I can see software update on 55PFL6007T from 2012. Does it means there are no plans to update skype on this TV set. Is there some other way how to utilise TV and camera for the group calls. Some other software?Or connecting computer somehow?

Group calls in Skype generally require processing power. Devices that don't host group calls generally lack that processing power making it impossible to do in Skype regardless of updates. The most compatible and up to date solution is to use a dedicated computer/laptop/desktop home media server connected to the TV's video and audio inputs (VGA/HDMI and audio jacks). You would then use a standard mic/camera combo through a powered USB hub (for more cable distance) along with a wireless keyboard and mouse. This essentially gives you more power than any integrated solution.

Joining group call can't hear other people

I have looked over my setting multiple times and I can hear everything else on my computer but I join a group call and I can not hear the other people in it and it happens with other people as in like when other people join after a certain point I guess you just cant hear it anymore and we end up having to restart call like 5 times until everyone is finally able to hear again if anyone has any ideas on how to fix please tell

I am having this issue too. When I initially join the call, everything is fine but if I need to drop out for any reason, when I return, I cannot hear their voices. They can hear me, but it takes a total restart of my computer - not just the Skype application - before I can hear anything on their end.

I can hear people when I'm not in call

When I'm in a call, I can hear people perfectly, everything works fine. However, when I leave a call, I ocassionally hear people from that Skype call. I even tried closing Skype, and still heard people!

If you hear voices when Skype is not running then it isn't originating from Skype. You might be picking up some audio/radio interference over your mic. If you use some 3rd party type of audio/video recording software sometimes that can delay or duplicate audio long after an application stop producing audio due to buffering. Skype itself would not be able to generate audio if it's completely closed.

You will need to return the phone to the US. iPhone warranty is only good in the country of purchase, with the exception of the EU.
