PeopleSoft Upgrade(DB2 8.46 to Oracle 8.49)

Hello,
We are trying to change database platform from DB2 to Oracle and tools release from 8.46 to 8.49 so far we are following Oracle Testmove methodology but the mail issue here is that we are spending lot of time doing this and so planning for altenate methodology of cloning the already created testmove instance but the main problem how to get the latest production data from DB2 to Oracle, we can move application tables using datamover but we are having trouble identifying the Tools tables that need to exported from 8.46 to 8.49 Oracle cloned instance can someone help me identify the tools tables that should not be exported and tables which needs to be exported so that we can have the cloned copy latest.
I really appreciate if some one throws light on this issue.
Thanks & Regards

Whenever you try to do Upgrade including with migration from one database to another , it is always advisable to follow that in 2 steps.
1. Migrate your DB first (in production itself)
2. Then go for your PS related Upgrade.
if you have not done this, then everytime that you want to do any Test Moves, you even for Test move to Prod, you would spend lot of time for migration effort.
if your DB size is very small (less than 5 GB), then you can try to export all PT and Functional tables and import it back using Data Mover at PT 8.46;
The Datamover process might be painful sometimes to convert the data.
Hope this helps

I have restarted the servers and machines as well but still the same error.
    Kindly help me ?

I agree with Hakan, sounds like your problem is getting to the proxy.
Is the SES server on the same network as PS?  Or is it really somewhere else? Is this some kind of home setup since you are running PS on Win 7?  If SES is on the same network as PS, I would drop the proxy config and test that way first.  Get it working without the extra complexity, then add in Proxy.  You can test connectivity from PS to SES with telnet or just browsing to SES.
    Thanks for the response RCC.
The PS is a Demo Instance being used for study purpose. Both the machines are on the same network.
I tried the ping after removing the entries in integrationGateway.properties files for proxy server and it worked.
Ping, Test Login and Validate are successful.
I get the following error when I check Proxy Login.
Proxy login failed : Invalid credentials for the federation entity (262,1317) (262,1318)
I have created Federation Trusted Entity key by the name HCM92 on Oracle SES side and am using the same ID and password in the Query Service Credentials on the Search Instance Properties Page.
I was not getting any error in any log file related to this.
    Kindly help.

  • Is there any manual about using DB2 as storage of Oracle BPEL Manager?

    Hi
thank you for reading my post
Is there any manual about using DB2 as database of ORACLE BPEL manager ?
any one tried to port and test the system on DB2?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
as you can read in the manual:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28980/overview.htm#sthref26
Oracle Database Lite, if you use the SOA Suite Basic installation option
Oracle Database Lite is configured to support Unicode. DB_CHAR_ENCODING is defaulted to UTF8 in the polite.ini file.
    Oracle9i Database Server
    Oracle Database 10g
The BPEL schema includes PL/SQL packages. They will not run on DB2...
The datasources are configured to Oracle. You will have to change them to DB2...
and it is not supported ;-)

  • DB2 8.1 to Oracle 11g with SQL Developer 3.0

    Hi,
I started migrating my DB2 8.1 to Oracle 11g, with SQL Developer 3.0
Basically, I need to migrate TABLES.
    I followed these steps:
    1) I created a new Oracle database, tablespaces, users, etc.
    2) Then, I created both (DB2 and Oracle) connections into SQL Developer 3.0. All works fine.
    3) I start capturing one table with the "Copy to Oracle" feature. Done with no errors.
But when I compare the table structure, I see the following problems in Oracle:
    a) All fields are NULLABLE = YES. SQL Developer show this field property correctly in DB2: NULLABLE = NO, but not migrated the same!
SOLUTION: All I want is that SQL Developer simply migrating the same value who I have in the DB2. But how?
    b) In DB2 I have one field property called COLUM DEFAULT. In Oracle this property is called DATA_DEFAULT. The SQL Developer show this field property correctly for the DB2 tables (for example: 0.0, ' ', etc), but don't migrated the same value! All fields are configured to DATA_DEFAULT = NULL.
SOLUTION: I think this occurs because NULLABLE is migrated with the value YES. Well, all I need is the same above...
NOTE: I tested the SWISSQL DATA MIGRATION software, and it works fine. All tables, field properties and data are migrated sucessfull. But this program is trial version!
Well, I think all of this are BUGS into SQL Developer.
    Please, anyone to help me?
    Regards,
    Ylram

    Welcome to the forum!

I just did right click in the procedure body and found [Debug, Compile for Debug, Compile, Run].
    >
You listed a bunch of things but you didn't say what steps you actually performed and what the result was.
Did you 'Compile'the procedure? until you compile the procedure you can't debug it.
I just created a new procedure and when I select the body it displays in the 'Code' window on the right. But the 'Debug' icon is not enabled because the procedure was not compiled for debug.
When I compile it for debug the 'Debug' icon is now enabled.

  • Is it possible ?Change data capture from VSAM , DB2 , SQL Server  to Oracle

    Dear Professionals ,
We plan to build a warehouse project.Source systems are
    * VSAM files in zOS
    * SQL Server
    * DB2
    Warehouse database is Oracle .
Every night the changes in the source systems will be applied to Oracle warehouse DB.
But only the changes will be applied . Exporting VSAM files to flat file and load to oracle and find the data differences in Oracle is not accepted. Or moving the entire tables to oracle and finding the changes in oracle is not accepted.Only the changes will pass through the network .
Is "Oracle Connect" and "VSAM adaptor" capable of this ?
Is there a solution for SQL Server and DB2 change data capture ?
Is it Possible ? If possible is it a headache or a simple install and forget process?
    Thank you
    Bunyamin..

    Bunyamin,
I do not know about VSAM, but I heard/read that Oracle Data Integrator is able to do change data capture on several databases. It uses the source database mechanism to do CDC. So maybe give it a try at the fusion middleware forum where ODI is being discussed

  • Rolling Upgrade 9i - 10g - Shareplex or Oracle Streams

Does anyone have any experience using any of these two for the above upgrade?
    Good or bad..?
    Pros and Cons
    (Also posted in General forum)

    Hi Davey,
Does anyone have any experience using any of these two for the above upgrade?I do about one a week, and I use many methods, depending on the system. Beware, MetaLink says that in some cases, using shareplax can make you unsupported:
    http://dba.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=1059
If you are staying on the same server, you can upgrade from 9i to 10g with about 5 minutes of downtime.
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_rolling_upgrades.htm
To do this, you will be using transportable tablespaces. The only requirement is that all your tablespaces are locally managed. The idea is simple.
    1) Install Oracle 10g to a separate Oracle Home on the same server
    2) Create a 10g database with only the base tablespaces: SYSTEM, SYSAUX, UNDO, and TEMP
    3) On the 9i database, put all your tablespaces into read only mode (write downtime begins)
    4) Perform a transportable tablespace export of all non-system tablespaces (as a sysdba user)
    5) Shut down the 9i database (true downtime begins)
    6) Start up the 10g database
    7) Perform a transportable tablespace import into the 10g database (end true downtime)
    8) Make all your tablespaces read/write (end write downtime)
Here are my minimum downtime upgrade methods:
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_mimimizing_downtime_release_upgrades.htm
Of course, there are an infinit numbers of ways to do it.
Also, make sure to check these notes for "gotchas" after to get to 10g:
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_slow_performance_after_upgrade.htm
    Hope this helps. . .

  • Upgrade DB2 z/os to 9.7 version fixpack

    Hi folks,
I am too confuse about upgrading DB2 z/os.
I need to upgrade DB2 z/os database to 9.7 version under SAP AIX system. My doubt is : what OS shoud I run the upgrade installer software?
I could sound too easy but It never work with DB2 z/os system.
    Tks a lot

    Hi,
    1. We used Datamover to export from DB2 z/OS
    2. Created a Database in DB2 LUW with same tablespace structure like DB2 z/OS
    3. Imported Data using Datamover in LUW
    4. Ran DDD, SYS audit after import.
    5. Ran UPGCOUNT to validate the number of rows.
