Performance problem in Mapping Designer using UDF with external imports

we do have a big performance problem in developing (not in execution) graphical Mappings as far as we use "user defined functions" (UDF) with include-entries referencing to jar files which are imported as "imported archives".
For example the execution of invice mapping with a little bit bigger test file in the Mapping designer:
- after opening, not in change mod: 6 seconds
- after switching to change mod: 37 seconds (that's clear, now everything is compiled first)
- after adding "com.seeburger.functions.permstore.CounterFactory;" into the "import" field of one UDF, no other change: 227 seconds
- after saving and submiting the changlist (no longer in change mode): 6 seconds
- after switching to change mode: 227 seconds
So execution speed of testing (and also when watching queues) only increases in changemod more then three minutes when using UDF with imports, referencing to external JAR files. It doesn't depend on Seeburger functions (we are using XI also for EDIFACT, so we also use some Seeburger functions), I can reproduce it with any other JAR file which is used from a UDF.
Using java included functions like "java.text.NumberFormat;" in "Import" doesn't slow down the testing.
Can anybody reproduce this? We are using XI 3.0 SP19 on a AIX machine, so we also have to use the Java version from IBM.

Problem in mapping while using Do not Use SOAP Envelope

This is wrt my thread 'Removing and adding SOAP Envelope'
I am currently working on SOAP-XI-Proxy Scenario.
For some un avoiadable reason, I had to use the option 'DO not use SOAP Envelope' .So the SOAP Envelope came withen the payload and in the pipeline, I can see the payload prefixed by '<?xml version="1.0" ?>' .
Now my payload looks like

But I am facing problem in mapping the values to the target structure (which is a flat structure),
as the payload doesnot start with ' ns1: ' notation any more . Even XSLT mapping is not working.
When I am pasting the payload in the Testing Mapping Editor, the Source Node are correctly
formed, but all come in RED . But as the root node , ie 'ns0' is not there, the value
from child nodes are not getting mapped to the target fields.

Hi Joel,
SAP says, when we use the option 'DO Not Use SOAP Envelope', the payload also contains the SOAP
Envelope. So it is obvious that the payload wont start with 'ns0' notation.
So I am searching for a solution, when we use that option.

Forms performance problem on the web, using webutil.

When starting the webutil-demoform on the Application Server,
webutils eight javabeans is loaded in 1 second.
I'm using &WebUtilLogging=Console&WebUtilLoggingDetail=Detailed for logging this.
When starting the same form from client the beans is loaded in ~30-40seconds.
Any suggestions to figure out why?

Problem in changing PR using BAPI With Error User already processing PR

Hello Experts,
When i am using BAPI_PR_CHANGE, to change PR . Since i have many number of PRs to be changed in , i am running the program in background . Issue now is that i am getting already PR is been changed (processed) by User(myself), so changes cannot be made and stooping the process of change. I am using BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT with WAIT also. but i coukd not change the PR in background. How can i over come this problem? How the lock entries shall be removed fast so that next PR is changed.
Please help me out experts.

Hi,
What you can do is through yur program ENQUEUE the pr then used bapi (along with commit)and then DEQUEUE the PR.
This way yur locking problem will not come.

Performance issue in linux while using set with URL object

Hi,
I am facing performance issue while using Set(HashSet) with URL object on linux. But it is running perfectly on windows.
I am using
set.contains(urlObject)
Above particular statement is taking 40 sec on Linux, and only a fraction of ms on windows.
I have checked the jre version on both OS. It is the same version (jre6)
on both the OS.
Could anyone please tell me what is the exact reason, why the same statement is taking more time on linux than windows.

Problems syncing a previously-used Z22 with a Mac OS 10.4 iBook

I want to remove the User name that originally was entered in the Z22 and replace it with a new User name to match up with the User name in my iBook and thus allow the file data in my iBook to sync over to the Z22. However, I haven't found any instructions for doing this, either on the Z22 or in the Palm Desktop software on my iBook.
Is it possible to change the User name on the Z22? ... and if so, how?

Perform a Hard Reset on the Z22 to blank it out, and place it back into the "out of the box" condition.
When you next HotSync, Palm Desktop will recognize it as a blank device and will ask you to either "Create a new account?" or "Use an existing one?".
Choose "Existing one" and pick your original device's name.

Problem Address already in use: JVM_Bind with HSQLDB

hi im using NetBeans5.0 and hsqldb1.8 with jdk1.4. after starting the database server frm code when my application launches and try to acess database it gives me error below. i tried using command "netstat" so that i can findout the alreasy used port and make it free for my application. but port im usiing oening port-8084 and shutdown port 9081, both are free. but still m getting this error.

Did you try the suggestion to put a log statement just before you start the server? Or put a breakpoint at that line and see how often it is reached.

Whats up with the system lockups just frustrated as to why. I could be checking mail, surfing the web or using PS Elements 9. Makes no difference what I am doing it occationaly locks up and requires a cold boot (windows talk).

I don't think so, Lion with the latest updates is running fine for most of us.
Post the log for your next lockup or the previous one if you can isolate the timeframe.

Performance problems processing big volumes using ABAP-proxy framework

We have a custom application ABAP program running on a ECC50 ( WAS640 ) box - that reads change pointer information based on a Z* msg type and generates proxy messages - sending them to XI. Now in every run, this ABAP program pushes out 5000 to 10,000 messages ( one /customer change ) to XI using a proxy framework.
I find that the Z* abap takes very little time to read the change pointer information and generate the outbound messages out of the ECC50 box. The messages are queued in the ECC50 integration engine layer for a long time before they go out to XI. We even got a HTTP_RESP_STATUS_CODE_NOT_OK error for one of the outgoing messages since there is a long list of messages trying to go out to XI.
1) Is the above error because of the timeout in the http connection between ECC50 and the XI box - where do we increase the timeout settings for this ?
2)What are the tuning parameters that need to be set in such a scenario on the integration engine ( ECC50 ) and the XI box ( Integration server ).
We are using QOS as EO when the messages are sent out.
I set EO_INBOUND_PARALLEL and EO_OUTBOUND_PARALLEL tuning params in both of the boxes to 10 . Are these parameters enough - is there something else to be set to improve the performance ?( we have atleast two CPUs each on the WAS boxes ).
Please share your experiences / thoughts on handling such a high volume situation.

But just one suggestion-
In this scenario, is your target is File or something else?
If it is a file, you can write your proxy in such a way that, for each proxy call only 100 messages will be pushed into XI, and in XI, you can collect these messages using BPM and get the one message at the end of the process.

It sounds as if the Key Figure that you added to your query has been defined underlying RDBMS (e.g. Oracle) for your BW system as an alphanumeric (VARCHAR) and since the data isn't defined as being numeric, it can't sum the data. This might also be caused by an known problem the BW application and there may be an OSS Note, or more than one, that resolves this issue.

Used the add on helper for clipboard and it did not resolve my issue with the problem that I cannot use clipboard with emails.

Problem in mapping dropdown list values with the queries

I am building a simple applicaittion of currency conversion.
The scenario :
I have a input form with a dropdown list and a input field to enter the amount
I have created the drop down list with the respective details
Value   Desc
1          dollarToeuro
2          euroTodollar
when the user selects the first option in the drop down list and then enters the value and gives a submit -> the conversion takes place
but evrytime i select the second option --> the application hangs..
i have given a guard condition in the submit action for each if the query as LIKE(@option,"1") OR LIKE(@option,"2") for the respective queries.
Please can someone tell me where i am going wrong???

Need advise for best practice when using Toplink with external transaction

Our project is trying to switch from Toplink control transaction to using External transaction so we can make database operation and JMS operation within a single transaction.
Some of our team try out the Toplink support for external transaction and come up with the following initial recommendation.
Since we are not familar with using external transaction, I would like member of this forum and experts, to help comment on whether these recommendation are indeed valid or in line with the best practice. And for folks that have done this in their project, what did you do ?
Any help will be most appreciated.
Data Access Objects must be enhanced to support reading from a TOPLink unit of work when using an external transaction controller. Developers must consider what impact a global transaction will have on the methods in their data access objects (DAOs).
The following findSomeObject method is representative of a finder in the current implementation of our DAOs. It is not especially designed to execute in the context of a global transaction, nor read from a unit of work.

When getting the TOPLink client session and reading from the unit of work in the context of a global transaction, new objects need to be cached.

As it generally is with this sort of question there is no exact answer.
The only required update when working with an External Transaction is that getActiveUnitOfWork() is called instead of acquireUnitOfWork() other than that the semantics of the calls and when you use a UnitOfWork is still dependant on the requirements of your application. For instance I noticed that originally the findSomeObject method did not perform a transactional read (no UnitOfWork). Has the requirements for this method changed? If they have not then there is still no need to perform a transactional read, and the method would not need to change.
As for the requirement that new object be cached this is only required if you are not conforming the transactional queries and adds a slight performance boost for find by primary key queries. In order to use this however, objects must be assigned primary keys by the application before they are registered in the UnitOfWork.
