Performance query issue

Hi guys,
I need sales averages from a COPA table, the problem is that the query that reads the averages is in a loop for each employee that get comission from sales (500).
So the programs runs in 4 or 5 hours.
Here is the code.
loop at ti_pa0001.
  SELECT SUM( erlos ) SUM( vv010 ) SUM( absmg )
    INTO (vtas20, marg20, v_pza20)
    FROM ce1pisa
    WHERE vrgar = 'F'
    AND perio IN r_periodo
    AND plikz = '0'
    AND bzirk  IN r_zonav
    AND kndnr  IN r_cliente
    AND kmmakl IN r_linea
    AND kmvkgr IN r_territorio
    AND vkorg  IN r_vkorg " ogr de ventas.
    AND bukrs  IN r_sociedad
    AND vtweg  = '20'. "hospitales
endloop.
the filters are in range, because can change from employee to employee.
any ideas?
tks in advance

Actually the code is like
loop at ti_pa0001.
SELECT SUM( erlos ) SUM( vv010 ) SUM( absmg )
    INTO (vtas20, marg20, v_pza20)
    FROM ce1pisa
    WHERE vrgar = 'F'
    AND perio IN r_periodo
    AND plikz = '0'
    AND bzirk  IN r_zonav
    AND kndnr  IN r_cliente
    AND kmmakl IN r_linea
    AND kmvkgr IN r_territorio
    AND vkorg  IN r_vkorg " ogr de ventas.
    AND bukrs  IN r_sociedad
    AND vtweg  = '20'. "hospitales
  IF sy-subrc = 0.
    sum_vtas20 = vtas20  + sum_vtas20.
    sum_marg20 = marg20  + sum_marg20.
    sum_vpza20 = v_pza20 + sum_vpza20.
  ENDIF.
*NE 020
  SELECT SUM( erlos ) SUM( vv010 ) SUM( absmg )
    INTO (vtas, marg, v_pza)
    FROM ce1pisa
   FOR ALL ENTRIES IN r_zonav
    WHERE vrgar = 'F'
    AND perio IN r_periodo
    AND plikz = '0'
    AND bzirk  IN r_zonav
    AND kndnr  IN r_cliente
    AND kmmakl IN r_linea
    AND kmvkgr IN r_territorio
    AND vkorg  IN r_vkorg " ogr de ventas.
    AND bukrs  IN r_sociedad
    AND vtweg  NE '20'. " ne 20
  IF sy-subrc = 0.
    sum_vtas_ot = vtas + sum_vtas_ot.
    sum_marg_ot = marg + sum_marg_ot.
    sum_vpza_ot = v_pza + sum_vpza_ot.
  ENDIF.
Endloop.
and the table is 480 000, and grows 40,000 each month.

  • Physical query issued by Obiee when cache is on is different and slow

    When the same report runs in OBIEE 10g and cache is OFF it takes less then 1min to get results. If cache is turned ON physical query issued by Obiee is totally different and it takes 2h to get results. Has anyone experienced this with having cache on that some queries are performing poorly.
    Thanks,
    Tatjana

    We are using BI Apps Order Management and Fulfillment Analytics and all tables are cached anyway. Dimensions used are not that huge up to 40K rows. What should I check when it comes to DB query? As I said is different than one generated when cache is disabled although both have the almost the explain plan.

    Hello, Wendy.
    I prepared a very empty sample report for you to demonstrate the problem - with this report, i hope, there is no place to discuss the shrinking of time data retrieval.
    There is one dataset, one parameter and one lookup function. The query is executed twice.

  • Frm-40505:ORACLE error: unable to perform query in oracle forms 10g

    Hi,
    I get error frm-40505:ORACLE error: unable to perform query on oracle form in 10g environment, but the same form works properly in 6i.
    Please let me know what do i need to do to correct this problem.
    Regards,
    Priya

    Hi everyone,
    I have block created on view V_LE_USID_1L (which gives the error frm-40505) . We don't need any updation on this block, so the property 'updateallowed' is set to 'NO'.
    To fix this error I modified 'Keymode' property, set it to 'updatable' from 'automatic'. This change solved the problem with frm-40505 but it leads one more problem.
    The datablock v_le_usid_1l allows user to enter the text (i.e. updated the field), when the data is saved, no message is shown. When the data is refreshed on the screen, the change done previously on the block will not be seen (this is because the block updateallowed is set to NO), how do we stop the fields of the block being editable?
    We don't want to go ahead with this solution as, we might find several similar screens nad its diff to modify each one of them individually. When they work properly in 6i, what it doesn't in 10g? does it require any registry setting?
    Regards,
    Priya

  • Web Query issues

    Hi All,
    I have created a web query and assigned it to a role. I have moved the role, web templete and the query from dev to QA was able run the query fine without issues.
    The problem I am having is when I make changes to the query and transport it to QA...when I run the query from the role menu it still shows the old query instead of the changed query.
    Can someone please explain what are the steps I need to take when I make changes to exsisting web query in dev and move to QA and be able to see the changes. What are all the objects I need to collect. Also would like to know if there are any settings on the role menu or web templete that need to be changed and also any buffers that I need to cleared??
    Any help is appriciated and will give max points.

    can u plz tell me how to slove this
    regards

    Dear Raju,
    In the query, for the Calculated Key Figure (Amount)
       Select properties, enhanced and change to:
                          "BEFORE AGGREGATION"
    It seems to be doing after aggregation, which is  default.
    it is aggregating:
        price = 5+10 = 15
        qty   = 5+5 = 10
        Amount = 15 * 10 = 150
    Good luck, BB

    So, about a week ago my macbook pro started having lots of issues: wifi connectivity, slow performance, sound issues, spotlight wasn't working. After going through the issues with apple support, they decided the best course of action was to erase the hard drive and do a reinstall. Since I have a recent backup this seemed like a good enough option. They were kind enough to send me a copy of the snow leopard disk to do the install since we couldn't get it to complete through the disk utility. Not sure why, since it says we are fully connected, it just never completed.
    Anyway, so now that you have the background here is the new issue. The macbook pro keeps spitting out the disk I'm trying to install from. Disk utility and using the 'Startup Disk' function from the apple menu doesn't read the disk.
    Can anyone suggest a solution to this vexing problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Jeremy.Laurin,
    have you tried agb76’s approach here?

    You don't need to build the default_where at run time. Just hard-code the WHERE Clause property as:
        column_x = :PARAMETER.X
    But, if for some compelling reason, you MUST do it at run time this should work:
        Set_block_property('MYBLOCK',Default_where,
            'COLUMN_X=:PARAMETER.X');
    Note that there are NO quotes except for first and last. If you get some sort of error when you query, you should actually see :Parameter.X replaced with :1 when you do Help, Display Error.

  • How to take care of Performance related issue in DRM?

    How we can optimize or take care of performance related issues when we have huge data in DRM application? especially when comes to Imports and Exports.
    Thanks
    -Ramesh

    Hi Ramesh,
    Below some suggestion from my side.
    1-Try to keep Current version open at the time of export and automator run.
    2-At extreme use derived property , else manage with somehow if you can
    3-If you are creating any derived property make sure you are restricting to related hier
    4-In case you are creating derived property check performance to take big hier with derived property node name and description ,if performance not seems to you satisfactory go with some other logic.
    5-Don’t use much looking property like Nodeinhier, hiernodepropvalue etc , if need then only use these
    6-Tack care of validation if you can do better with verification then don’t put validation in that case
    7-I do see some problem while loading data from DRM to DB try to avoid and use some workaround if possible ( like Sql loader)
    Not sure how much useful will be for you these points above.
    Thanks!

  • Query Performance Related Issue

    Hi all,
    We have a problem when we are executing the Query in BI 7.0. that is
    When we are executing the query first time it will take 2 minutes time .
    when we are executing the same query second time ( With out logoff the query designer ) it will take 5seconds.
    please give me some inputs how it is taking more time at the first time ?
    How to reduce the query execution time for the first time?
    Already we have tried all the Query performance options.
    Thanks & regards,
    Kiran Manyam.

    Hi Kiran,
    As the others pointed, when you have executed the query for the 2nd time, it might have read from the cache.
    Do the following to investigate the performance issue:
    1) Go to RSRT and run your query in "Execute in debug mode"
    2) Select "Display Statistics Data", check "Do not use cache"
    3) After running the query, press the back button. The system will show a the statistics summary.
    4) Analyze what activity has the highest run time.
    5) If Data Manager time is >= than 30% of the query time and the if the ratio of number of records selected VS the number of records transfered is > 10% then, build an aggregate to help the query run time. This sacrifices data load time but will improve query execution time.
    To know what aggregate will help, run the query in debug mode again and choose the option "Display aggregates found". If the query did not hit an aggregate, the names of the cubes will appear. Use the data in the suggestions column (maked with S: ) as a basis for your aggregate.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle Sql Query issue Running on Different DB Version

    Hello All,
    I have come into situation where we are pruning sql queries on different DB version of Oracle and have performance issue. Let me tell you in brief and i really appreciate for your prompt response as its very imperative stuff.
    I have a query which is running on a DB of version 7.3.4 and it takes around 30 mins where as the same query when run on 8i it takes 15sec., its a huge difference. I have run the statistics to analyze on 7.3 and its comparatively very high. Question here is, the sql query trys to select data from same schema table and 2 tables from another DB using DB link and 2 other tables from another DB using DB link.So,how can we optimize this stuff and achieve this run as same time as 8i DB in 7.3. Hope i am clear about my question, Eagerly waiting for your replies.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Difficult to be sure without any more detailed information, but I suspect that O7 is in effect copying the remote tables to local temp space, then joining; 8i is factoring out a better query to send to the remote DBs, which does as much work as possible on the remote DB before shipping remaining rows back to local.
    You should be able to use EXPLAIN PLAN to identify what SQL is being shipped to the remote DB, If you can't (and it's been quite a while since I tried DB links or O7) then get the remote DBs to yourself, and set SQL_TRACE on for the remote instances. Execute the query and then examine the remote trace files, And don't forget to turn off the tracing when you're done.
    Of course it could just be that the CBO got better,,,
    HTH - if not, post your query and plans for the local db, and the remote queries.

  • DBUri query issues

    Hi all,
    I am using URI XPath queries on 9i. I do not have permission on the
    database or database server to create any Stored Procedures, Servlets
    or anything else that I could possibly use to help me. I have firewall
    access on ports 80 and 8080 ONLY. I am connecting on a 100Mbit LAN
    with very little extra traffic. The Oracle server is on a Sun box
    which is a dev replica of a high-performance production server.
    I have a couple issues to resolve:
    1. The response speed is currently extremely slow. I am connecting and
    retrieving data via a C# .NET component using:
    HttpWebRequest req = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(strURIQuery);
    req.Method = "GET";
    req.Credentials = new NetworkCredential(strUser, strPass); // Oracle
    log-in
    // Get the stream from the response
    StreamReader stream = new
    StreamReader(req.GetResponse().GetResponseStream());
    However, the timings are the same when I simply paste the query into a
    browser and get a response, even without applying a stylesheet
    transformation.
    I have been fishing the internet/NGs for some optimization hints but
    it seems like almost no-one is using this Oracle feature. Does
    anyone on this NG have experience with speeding up URI queries?
    Any query, regardless of complexity, seems to take between 1.5 and 3
    seconds to return with XML. I am doing simple select statements on a
    single table with multiple "or" statements, but the classic test:
    http://myservername:8080/oradb/SCOTT/EMP/ROW[EMPNO=7369]/ENAME
    ... is just as slow!
    2. There is a limit to the number of characters I can use in a query
    (it appears to be 420 chars inside the [] predicate). Slightly over
    this limit and I get:
    <ERROR>
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17114], [0x2703F690], [],
    </ERROR>
    Way over this limit and Oracle can't even return an error message! I
    get a 500 back from Apache.
    Does anyone know if this size limit is configurable? Alternatively, is
    there a way of using a more concise XPath syntax to perform a query
    with multiple "or" statements?. The queries I am doing are similar to
    the one below, only with even more "or" statements:
    http://myservername:8080/oradb/SCOTT/RLR/ROW[NGC='SW37331083' or
    NGC='SW37332471' or NGC='SW37332591' or NGC='SW37332965' or
    NGC='SW37333078' or NGC='SW37333395' or NGC='SW37335398' or
    NGC='SW37340233' or NGC='SW37340351' or NGC='SW37340811' or
    NGC='SW37341521' or NGC='SW37341909' or NGC='SW37342828' or
    NGC='SW37343418' or NGC='SW37343605' or NGC='SW37343728' or
    NGC='SW37344528' or NGC='SW37344707']?rowsettag=Data
    TIA,

    Apologies if this is the wrong forum for the question above. Could anyone suggest a more suitable one?
    Thanks,

  • Query Performance - Query not using proper plan

    Hello,
    I am experiencing a performance issue with queries that span multiple partitions/tablespaces. Specifically, a query utilizing a stored procedure does not use the indices, rather, full table scans are being done resulting in the query taking 30+ minutes to complete. The same query, when removed from the SP, returns results in milliseconds.
    In an attempt to correct the issue, table stats were updated, the stored procedure was re-compiled as well packages that may have been affected after the table stats update. In addition, the database was bounced (shutdown, restarted) but no noticable performance increase was acheived.
    I'm looking for any insight on how to correct this issue.
    I can provide additional information if required.
    Thanks,
    Scott.

    Post the query, the stored procedure, and the table structure. My first quess here is that the stored procedure is binding an incorrect datatype, but I need to see the requested info to be certain.
