Periodic report on the classification of discussion

Hi,
I was just wondering if some sort of a report be published periodically on the nature of problems discussed in various forums. As discussed previously in one of the posts of ABAP Development Forum, a subclassification of the nature of problem will certainly help in searching and, at a later point, reporting on the nature of problems discussed most actively. Then, gurus like Thomas Jung can take some time out of their busy schedule and write a weblog on that category so as to help newbies as well as experts.
For the rest of us, still trying to learn and surely enjoyingSAP, we will have an idea about what the rest of the world is stumbling across and perhaps share our modest knowledge with the rest of the community.

There are quite a few posts on the subject on the forums.
Basically you can do one of these things:
1) Run an 'application summary' report - typically the count of 'flow out' calls will be the number of calls sent to your 1800 number, if this is the only non-CSQ destination that your script sends calls to (e.g. if there are no other external numbers, voicemail, or internal DNs that you send the calls to other than via a CSQ).
2) Run a 'custom call variables' report and then count up the number of rows that have the info that you set on 'set enterprise call info' when the call was routed externally
3) If those aren't good enough, then you can produce a custom report to show the data in the format the customer wants. This would require some good SQL and Crystal skills...

Stock report with the field... last stock changed at certain date?

Hi people,
I want to know why MBEWH have not any material stock information for period when doesn´t exist any inventory movement for some materials, for example I have a case in 12.2006 period the material A have stock quantity 100 and value 1000 and the next period 01.2007 no stock movements were done for this reason the MBEWH had to had the same values stock 100 and value 1000 in 01.2007 period, but in MBEWH is missing, there is not any information for material A in this period.
Anybody knows about this problem?

Posting Period coming into the rows at the query runtime & couldn't drop it

Hi All,
We have a query on an InfoCube that we have copied to the Multiprovider containing two cubes, exact copies of the original cubes.
Two cubes are one for the previous years and one for the current year.
Now, the query is copied from original cube to the MultiCube.
The query looks exactly the same in the Query Designer. But when run in Analyzer or on Web, Posting Period is coming into the rows automatically and in Analyzer, when I double click on the Posting Period to take it away from the report, it doesn't go away. Similarly in web, I do not have a option 'Remove Drilldown from rows', against posting period. I have identified posting period in both the cubes in the MultiCube configuration.

hmm, we have now something interesting....
but this means that you have two structures defined in your query right?
Is your query cell based? It looks to me that this is the case; you have elements using created using the posting period thus it can be moved to the free chars and must be included in the drilldown.
Remove the posting period again and perform a check before saving the query; this may give the element defined with your posting period.

Hi all,
We are using the following platform:-
OS: Solaris Operating System (SPARC 32-bit)
Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition / Product Version: 9.2.0.5.0
We encountered the following problem:-
There is Ora-07445 reported in the alert log file.
"ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [kgghash()+308] [SIGSEGV] [Address not mapped to object] [0x3222
000] [] []reported in the database."
These errors are signaled in more than 3 independent, unexplained, occurrences every day.
When this error occurred while User was accessing the application system, by right the case will be shown on the system, but they were no case found.

Help needed on balance sheet plan report for the current year

Hi BW gurus,
I have a problem with reporting.
I need to get Balance-Sheet Plan Reports for the Planned year and for the current year.
To get the report for the planned year its straight forward just by restricting 0balance by the version to 1 and the valuetype 20.
But I have a problem with the current year report.
I have fiscal year and the company code as the variables.
The report should be like this.
If we need the report as of today(July 26 2006),we may input 2006 for the fiscal year variable.
And the 0balance for the twelve fiscal periods should be as follows
From jan 2006 to june 2006(fiscal periods) it should have only the actuals
From july 2006 to dec 2006(fiscal periods) it should have only the plan
I have already built a query by having two restricted keyfigures on 0balance.
One by restricting version and valuetype 0 and 10 , and the other with 1 and 20.
But in the report I am getting two columns of data for each fiscal period for 12 periods.0balance with actuals and 0balance with plan.
But I need to get 0balance with actuals from jan to june(individually for each fiscal period columnwise),and 0balance with plan from july to dec(individually for each fiscal period columnwise).
Hope you people can visualize my report.
Please help me ASAP.

ABST2 - How to take the report for the previous fiscal year

Hi,
For FI-AA reconciliation, my scenario is this: The current fiscal year is 2009 and the system (server) date is 16-Apr-2009. My fiscal year period is: Mar-Apr. In ABST2, it does not accept Fiscal year. When I take the report, it displays for fiscal year 2009, which I don't want because I want it for the fiscal year 2008 to reconcile between FI and AA. The fiscal year 2008 is not yet closed in both FI and AA, so I want the report for 2008 only. But ABST2 always gives the report for the current fiscl year. Is there any way out to get the report for 2008?.

This report is based on the actual values. In the past this report was used for EURO conversions to see if the values are in line. When not it was not possible to do the euro conversion.
Normal it is a part from the fiscal year closing

[Extend DBI] specify the drill-down report for the custom report column

Hi,
I realized two custom reports by using the extend DBI tools:
1st report displays the sum of invoices amounts grouped by Operating Units.
2nd report display the details of invoices for all Operating Units
In the 1st report I specified a link on the column Operating Units to drill-down at 2nd report.
The problem is how specified the drill-down link so that the 2nd report display only the detail of invoices for the selected Operating Unit?

Adding the time dimenstions like Year, Quarter, Period, Week is quite possible.
Steps would be:
1. make sure your data source (Table/View has these columns). If you don't have them you can generate them by joining the date of the data table with FIII_TIME_DAY.
2. Map these new columns to appropriate Dimesnions. (Lile Enterprise Year, Enterprise Quarter etc.)
Once you have done these two your report will work for the Time Dimensions.
I dont think its possible to get the Prior Period functionality unless you use a generated datasource.

Urgent Please: Cannot publish Reports to the Sharepoint Integrated - Reporting Services Login

Sharepoint 2010 / SQL Server 2008 R2
The user I am using in BIDS to deploy the reports has Admin permission to the site collection and databases.
Reporting Services Login prompt all times and I can´t go ahead to publish the reports.
I ve reviewed my deployment properties -

The same test works to my dedicated server (Sharepoint and SQL Server in the same machine) but not to the enviorement bellow:
Server 1 - SSED, SSAS, SSRS, Sharepoint Web Front (minimal installation)
Server 2 - Sharepoint Server 2010 (SSRS Sharepoint Integration Mode)
I´ve read all the discussions and articles I couldn´t find anything conclusive.
Please, any clues?!

Here's the scenario:
I have a Web Front End (WFE) server, and an Application Server (AS) in a Sharepoint 2010 Farm. The configuration database, content database, etc.. are located on a clustered SQL 2008 R2 instance on another set of machines. I have installed SQL
2008 R2 Reporting Services w SP1 on the AS. I have installed the SQL 2008 Reporting Services Add-In for Sharepoint 2010 on the WFE. I have gone through all the configuraiton settings, set the SPNs for the service accounts, etc... The Excel Services
with external data, for example, is working fine.
When the reporting services integration is set to "Trusted Account", I can deploy reports to the server with no problem, EXCEPT that I can't deploy data sources that use "Windows Authentication" as their credentials, which is desirable for our implementation.
When I switch the reporting services instance to "Windows Authentication", I can no longer deploy projects to the report server. When I go to deploy the reports, I continually get a "Reporting Services Login" prompt, showing the server it is being deployed
to, and requesting a username and password. No combination of username and password works.
Here's a fun little bit for you too, if I continue to try to login to the server, I will eventually (after hitting the GPO threshold) lock out my account from Active Directory. This I found out after nearly creating a set of tracks down my scalp all
day today trying to figure out what was happening to my sharepoint sites while I was debugging this....
So it seems that it is trying to authenticate my login credentials through BIDS, but is unable to do so.
Also, when I attempt to "Manage Datasource" directly through the Sharepoint interface I am getting 401 errors.
I appreciate any assistance.

How to post prior period depreciation into the current period

We accidentally missed a depreciation run in a prior month and so cannot move ahead until this is posted. We do not reopen prior periods once the GL is closed. Is there a way to post the prior month's depreciation into the current month? We are on ECC so I understand depreciation no longer posts via SM35. I have seen other posts that discuss similar issues but haven't seen this exact issue. I've been told there is no way to do this, our only option is to reopen the periods. Hoping that is not the case. Thanks.

Hello,
Since the depreciation didn't run in the previous month, the depreciantion of last month and current month to be booked in current period is possible. For example period 06 was the previous month, then in current month depreciation run AFAB > select 'Unplanned posting run' in the 'Reason for posting run' only for current month for e.g. period 07. From next month onwards, select 'Planned posting run' as normal.

About the developemnt of the report in the alv........can any one help me..

Here is the requirement for a new Z report that lists customer addresses in an ALV display for customers with activity over a certain period.
Use database table VBRK - the billing document header and customer master table KNA1.

I'm having the same issue. Haven't found a workaround. I use a main TimeCapsule as my main router, also have another TimeCapsule that extends the network, three Airport Express and an AppleTV. For whatever reason, the two AirportExpress that I have in a different rooms cut out. I only have 600 square foot apartment so it's not that big, the signal should be strong enough. Airport Utilitiy reports the signal strength to be strong on all devices.
I'm using all new equipment, a new MacPro for my music, new TimeCapsules, new Airport Express, new everything with the latest Yosemite software. Very frustrating. My Airplay used to work very nice and now I'm constantly having issues and restarting my network. I did a fresh install of all my software on my MacPro when I got it in January so it's not as if it's an old machine with old software, everything is new within the last 6 months.
The only workaround I found so far is to unplug the devices and to plug them back in. Since upgrading to Yosemite, I'm restarting my Airport Express at least twice a week. Very annoying.

Vista reporting of the amount of memory

Under vista my macbook shows 3048GB of memory while under lepeord it shows the full 4gb? Anybody else running vista that gets funny memory size reported? The machine has 4GB in it.

Stefan thanks for the update. I did some more investigation and found the fact is that Vista 32 supports 4GB but the memory for other devices is reserved in the contingous memory space. See Microsoft article below:

SYMPTOMS
If a computer has 4 gigabytes (GB) of random-access memory (RAM) installed, the system memory that is reported in the System Information dialog box in Windows Vista is less than you expect. For example, the System Information dialog box may report 3,120 megabytes (MB) of system memory on a computer that has 4 GB of memory installed (4,096 MB).
Note You can access the System Information dialog box in the following ways:• Click Start, type System in the Search box, and then click System under Programs.
• Double-click System in Control Panel.
• Click Start, right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
• Click Show more details in the Windows Vista Welcome Center window.

CAUSE
This behavior is the expected result of certain hardware and software factors.
Various devices in a typical computer require memory-mapped access. This is known as memory-mapped I/O (MMIO). For the MMIO space to be available to 32-bit operating systems, the MMIO space must reside within the first 4 GB of address space.
For example, if you have a video card that has 256 MB of onboard memory, that memory must be mapped within the first 4 GB of address space. If 4 GB of system memory is already installed, part of that address space must be reserved by the graphics memory mapping. Graphics memory mapping overwrites a part of the system memory. These conditions reduce the total amount of system memory that is available to the operating system.
The reduction in available system memory depends on the devices that are installed in the computer. However, to avoid potential driver compatibility issues, the 32-bit versions of Windows Vista limit the total available memory to 3.12 GB. See the "More information" section for information about potential driver compatibility issues.
If a computer has many installed devices, the available memory may be reduced to 3 GB or less. However, the maximum memory available in 32-bit versions of Windows Vista is typically 3.12 GB.

WORKAROUND
For Windows Vista to use all 4 GB of memory on a computer that has 4 GB of memory installed, the computer must meet the following requirements: • The chipset must support at least 8 GB of address space. Chipsets that have this capability include the following:• Intel 975X
• Intel P965
• Intel 955X on Socket 775
• Chipsets that support AMD processors that use socket F, socket 940, socket 939, or socket AM2. These chipsets include any AMD socket and CPU combination in which the memory controller resides in the CPU.
• The CPU must support the x64 instruction set. The AMD64 CPU and the Intel EM64T CPU support this instruction set.
• The BIOS must support the memory remapping feature. The memory remapping feature allows for the segment of system memory that was previously overwritten by the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) configuration space to be remapped above the 4 GB address line. This feature must be enabled in the BIOS configuration utility on the computer. View your computer product documentation for instructions that explain how to enable this feature. Many consumer-oriented computers may not support the memory remapping feature. No standard terminology is used in documentation or in BIOS configuration utilities for this feature. Therefore, you may have to read the descriptions of the various BIOS configuration settings that are available to determine whether any of the settings enable the memory remapping feature.
• An x64 (64-bit) version of Windows Vista must be used.
Contact the computer vendor to determine whether your computer meets these requirements.
Note When the physical RAM that is installed on a computer equals the address space that is supported by the chipset, the total system memory that is available to the operating system is always less than the physical RAM that is installed. For example, consider a computer that has an Intel 975X chipset that supports 8 GB of address space. If you install 8 GB of RAM, the system memory that is available to the operating system will be reduced by the PCI configuration requirements. In this scenario, PCI configuration requirements reduce the memory that is available to the operating system by an amount that is between approximately 200 MB and approximately 1 GB. The reduction depends on the configuration.

PAE-mode-induced driver compatibility issues
Driver compatibility issues that are related to Data Execution Prevention (DEP) are typically physical address extension (PAE) mode-induced compatibility issues.
Note PAE is required only on computers that have processors that support hardware-enforced DEP.
DEP may cause compatibility issues with any driver that performs code generation or that uses other techniques to generate executable code in real time. Many drivers that experienced these issues have been fixed. Because DEP is always on for drivers that are on 64-bit versions of Windows, these drivers typically experienced compatibility issues. However, there is no guarantee that all drivers have been updated to fix PAE-mode-induced compatibility issues. However, there are few drivers that use these techniques. DEP alone does not typically cause driver compatibility issues.
The primary driver compatibility issues that you may experience occur when you run PAE mode on 32-bit computers. PAE mode enables processors to use more than 4 GB of memory. The primary difference between PAE memory paging schemes and non-PAE memory paging schemes is the additional level of paging that is required in PAE mode. PAE mode requires three levels of paging instead of two levels of paging.
Some drivers might not load if PAE mode is enabled because the device might be unable to perform 64-bit addressing. Or, the drivers might be written with the assumption that PAE mode requires more than 4 GB of memory. Such drivers are written with the expectation that the drivers will always receive 64-bit addresses in PAE mode and that the driver or the device cannot interpret the address.
Other drivers might load in PAE mode but cause system instability by directly modifying system page table entries (PTE). These drivers expect 32-bit page table entries but receive 64-bit PTEs in PAE mode instead.
The most common PAE compatibility issue for drivers involves direct memory access (DMA) transfers and map register allocation. Many devices that support DMA, typically 32-bit adapters, cannot perform 64-bit physical addressing. When these devices run in 32-bit mode, the devices can address all physical address space. In PAE mode, data can be present at a physical address that is larger than 4 GB. To enable devices that have these constraints to function in this scenario, Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and later versions of Windows provide double-buffering for the DMA transaction. Windows 2000 Server and later versions of Windows do this by providing a 32-bit address that is indicated by a map register. The device can perform the DMA transaction to the 32-bit address. The kernel copies the memory to the 64-bit address that is provided to the driver. When the computer runs with PAE mode disabled, drivers for 32-bit devices do not require that system memory be allocated to their map registers. This means that double-buffering is not required because all devices and all drivers are contained within the 32-bit address space. Tests of drivers for 32-bit devices on 64-bit processor–based computers have demonstrated that DMA-capable drivers that are client tested typically expect unlimited map registers.

I want to use spiceworks to report on the status of bitlocker across multiple customer sites and domains, I didn't want to use MBAM as it is complicated and I just wanted to report if bitlocker was enabled or not.
There have been a lot of discussions but I was looking for some thoughts and experiences that were concise on the whole process ie how to implement spiceworks across multiple sites, and then into the reporting. Or is that too much to ask in one discussion?
