Permissions Keep Getting Screwed up: WHY?

I upgraded my MacMini from 10.4.11, which I'd used for years, to 10.5.8 recently. In the final analysis, I shouldn't have. Although more and more applications I want to run seem to now require at least 10.5, I should've forgone the desire to use them.
Aside from the fact that my MacMini simply does not have enough horsepower to handle 10.5, I've had nothing but problems with 10.5 that I never had with 10.4.
For one, the permissions are ALWAYS screwing up on their own. Why the heck do the permissions for Front Row.app (which I've never used) in Core Services always get messed up? Every time I run Disk Warrior, I get a looong page of repaired permissions, from the IOUSB Family.kext extensions to the aforementioned Front Row, to AppleShare, to Spotlight, JavaPlugIn, XQuery, the list goes on. It's ridiculous.
It's not like I'm digging into my System or Library folders, or running dozens of applications at once. My handicapped hardware keeps me from doing that.
I can understand needing to run "Repair Permissions" occasionally, like after doing a System Update or some other major upgrade, but to find this cr*p happening a couple of times a week? What's going on?

Using 'should be -rw-r--r-- , they are lrw-r--r--' as an example, you will see the that the permissions are not changed, but the | indicates a different location. This is because an update to Leopard changed the location of a number of system components.
As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.

Until recently when I have had some computer problems, I'd repair permissions and when the message read that they had been I did not give it a second thought. But during the recent "troubles" I decided to reclick repair permissions and the same corrections were needed. I noticed this on both m y iBook and G4 Quicksilver both running Panther 10.3.9. Sometimes if I run repairs 3 or 4 times, the errors are cleared up, but if they aren't after 4 I jsut get on with it. I have done hardware checks, disk verification and all seems well. The sample below is what showed up on my G4 but it is typical of my iBook. It does not seem to matter if I boot from the CD or use DU from the desktop. I wonder how long has this been going on and is it typical or a symptom of (gasp! I can't take it!) ANOTHER problem (after replacing a hard drive and memory, how much more can a person take?)
No apparent problems - some complex charts are a little slow to reload after a change in InDesign but I am temporarily short on RAM as I am getting a module replaced.

The repeated permission repairs you are seeing are referred to here as "spurious permission repairs" and can be safely ignored.

Cannot use program, not supported by architecture? I have a MacBook running 10.5 and have a Snow Leopard upgrade disk to 10.6.3, and that is the error message that I keep getting as to why my update won't install.

I have a MacBook that I am trying to upgrade to Snow Leopard so that I may upgrade it then to Lion to make better use of my iPad and some of the n we tools that Apple has made available in Lion. I have checked and double checked that my MacBook meets the hardware expectations, and it does exceed the ones for Snow Leopard. however, every time that I try to run the install disk it tells me that the program is not supported by the current architecture. I have even tried to backend the processes by opening the install folder with "View Package Contents" option, but it still gives the same error message! Someone please help!

Obtain one of these Snow Leopard DVDs instead. They are not expensive.

Redirect keeps getting screwed up

          I have a JSP "myfolder/temp.jsp" that redirects to "next.jsp"
          through the Java call
          response.redirect("next.jsp");
          Unfortunately, the resulting page is not "myfolder/next.jsp", but
          "servlets/myfolder/next.jsp". I don't know where this "servlets"
          prefix came from, but I'm figuring its some kind of weblogic setting
          that I haven't adjusted.

The browser itself knows the "current directory" based on the last URL
          submitted. That's a result of using sub-folders ... probably nothing to do
          with WebLogic.

Why do I keep getting alerts for shared calendars?

I have a calendar set up in Calendar, it syncs with iCloud.
My wife has a clanedar set up in Calendar, it syncs with iCloud.
Both calendars are shared, so we can see what the others availability is on a given day at a given time.
But why do I keep getting alerts on my iPhone (and only on my iPhone) for my WIFE's events? I've turned off the "show shared calendar events" button in the calendar preferences on my iPhone, but I'm *still* getting alerts for all her events. I don't need this, I don't want this, I turned it off... why is it still happening?
My iCloud calendar is defaulted to my calendar. I do not get alerts on my iMac for her events, only on the iphone. Can anyone help? I never want to see her events unless I manually go and look at them on my calendars or in iCloud calendar.

Your System Details list shows that you use a Firefox 31.0 release.
That is not the current release.
The current release is Firefox 34.0.5.
If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Why do you want to delete those? What have you done so far to do that?
I doubt that Mac has a virus. On the other hand, your attempts to deleted those folders may have caused corruption.
Two other comments:
1) Is there a reason that Mac hasn't been updated to OS X 10.5.8?

Try #5.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I keep getting the following message "some items (meaning all of them) were not transferred because iTunes match is enabled." when I try to drag and drop a playlist, song, or album to my iPhone. This was NEVER a problem before iTunes match or the last iOS update. So what is the deal? Why can't i just add music to my phone from the mac? There is space on the phone. The only way I have found to get the music i want to the phone is to have it download from the phone. This is not something i want to have to do: go through and manually add every album and recreate a playlist on the phone when its there on the mac. And, even more irritating, since the new update, when the phone is plugged into the mac i can't actually view from the mac what music is on the phone. This is incredibly frustrating and any help would be much appreciated in managing my music libraries for each device.

You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.
