Persistance of the Parent attribute

Hi - I have a 8 applications (appxxx.ear)in OC4J (9.0.3) and uses the parent attribute between them.
However - redeployment of .ear file with Enterprise Manager removes the parent attribute and changes the sequence of applications in server.xml
How do I keep this attribute without re-applying it everytime after redeployment.

See what happens when ya don't read the spec's backing the API's ya use? I haven't read that spec in over 2 years, and apparently it didn't jump out at me at that time as importand and/or major. Guess it all depends on what you're looking for when you read something.
Thanks for the quick help; I'm off to implement my own personal version...erm...vision of versioning...um...anyway, back to it.
Thanks again!

  • HOWTO: Specify the parent application attribute during deployment

    Hi all,
    I wonder how can I specify the "parent application" attribute in order to deploy my application correctly
    (I am trying to deploy a BPEL application and I am needing to specify the "-parent orabpel" option in the admin.jar execution... but I didn't also find how to solve this problem in a general way...)
    Thank you in advance for your help

    I am very sorry with you, but I decided to put this question here, because the problem IS NOT BPEL related... (as I mentioned in my original post)
    If I build an application... for example "App1", and I deployed in the Oracle AS 10g, and then I want to deploy from my JDeveloper the "App2", but I want to specify that "App1" is parent application of "App2".... How can I do it from JDeveloper without using the admin.jar utility or using the EM console from my App Server?
    In my humble opinion (I am not an ACE member)... is a general problem of the IDE more than specific to BPEL
    Thank you again if someone can give me a real clue on this issue...

  • Get the Values of the components inside the region onto the Parent Page

    Hi All,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.5.
    I just wanted to know that my use case can be fitted to contextual events or should i use the #{data.pageDef.Attribute.inputValue} to get the values.
    I have a bounded taskflow "ChildTF.xml" with fragment say "child.jsff".Now i have dragged the ChildTF.xml on the other page say "Parent.jspx" as a region.In the child.jsff page i had input form having 20 fields and all the 20 fields are dragged from a View Object so i don't have the field values binded to the Managed Bean and on the parent page "Parent.jspx" i have a button. Now on click of button i need to get the values of those 20 fields of "child.jsff" page.
    How can i achieve this?
    Thanks
    Shah

    Hi Timo,
    Thanks .
    For sharing the data control i should follow this :-
    In the Property Inspector for the called task flow i.e ChildTF.xml, select Behavior.
    In the data-control-scope list, select shared.
    Is there anything else do i need to do ??
    I mean do i need to add the iterator to the parent page also. ?
    Kindly Suggest!!

  • Error while changing the Display Attribute into Navigational Attribute

    Hi all.. Gud Mrng.
    I was changed the attribute (product) from display attribute into navigational attribute and while save and activating the info object it is not getting activated and it is throwing the below error message.
    Error Message: u201CThe Info object is being used in several data targetsu201D
    My Questions:
    i)     Do I need to delete the data from all the data targets (where this info object is using)??
    ii)     Do I need to delete data only from the main info object (Zmaterial)? Is this single action enough?
    Please suggest me which action I need to follow & What are the precautions need to take while changing the Display Attribute (product) into Navigational attribute of info object (Zmaterial).
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks & Regards,
    B Venugopal

    Hi Garima
    Only in case of key figures we cannot change it from display to navigational.
    If the info object is a characteristics then in the General tab of the info object if you select 'attribute only' then the iobj would be a display attribute only. If you leave it unmarked then you can use the iobj as a navigational atribute.
    I am sure you know that these settings only mean if a IOBJ can be used as display or navigational.  To  use it as a navigational within another object you will have to change the settings from 'DIS' to 'NAV' for the said info object in the 'Attributes' tab of its parent info object.
    Further if you use the parent info object in any data target / infio provider you will have to further mark the info object as 'navigational' while defining the attrbute of the said data target / info provider. The info object gets displayed in the data target / info provider attribute properties as 'parent IOBJ_info object'

  • Problem refreshing the parent page when closing a modal window.

    I have page that opens a modal window from a report link column. In the modal window I want to be able to make my changes and press an Apply button so that the modal window is closed and the parent page is refreshed to show the modified details in the report. In Firefox all works well but in IE I get the error message ‘Window.opener.location is null or not an object’ .
    When I comment out window.opener.location.href=window.opener.location.href; the modal window closes without error but I want to refresh the parent page with changes made in the modal window.
    I’m afraid my java script is very limited (the code is based on other peoples examples.)
    Parent Page I call this function from a report link column to display a modal window. Sets the hidden SAVE_STATUS field in destination page to ‘N’
    function modalWin(pshow)
    var url;
    url='f?p=&APP_ID.:'+pshow+':&SESSION.::::SAVE_STATUS:N';
    if (window.showModalDialog) {
    window.showModalDialog(url,"name","dialogWidth:650px;dialogHeight:700px"); }
    else {
    window.open(url,"name","height=700,width=650,toolbar=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=no ,modal=yes");
    Destination page (modal window)
    HTML Header.
    The function closeWindow should refresh the parent page and close the modal window.
    <base target=_self>
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    htmldb_delete_message='"DELETE_CONFIRM_MSG"';
    function closeWindow() {
    if ( document.getElementById("SAVE_STATUS").value == 'Y' )
    window.opener.location.href=window.opener.location.href;
    window.close();
    //-->
    </script>
    Html Body attribute.
    onLoad="closeWindow();"
    P_UPDATE_DATE process called from the Apply changes button. Sets the SAVE_STATUS flag to ‘Y’ for the onload in the html body.
    UPDATE event
    SET event_date = :P5001_EVENT_DATE
    WHERE contract_reference = :P330_EVD_CONTRACT
    AND event_number = :P330_EVD_EVENT_NUMBER;
    :SAVE_STATUS := 'Y';
    Thanks in advance, I will have a look when back in the office on Monday.
    Cheers Pete

    Hi Chris,
    Thanks for your help. I think I've sorted it using your first suggestion doing a refresh in the parent page, I just didn't know how at the time.
    What I've got in the parent window after the call to the modal window is the reload window.location.reload(); and in the modal window I close it using window.close(); The down side being the refresh happens if I use my 'Apply changes' or 'Cancel' button but I can live with that for now.
    It seems to work in IE and firefox but as I say most of what I'm doing is cobbling together using other peoples code without really understanding exactly what it does. Anyway thanks for your help, sound like I should look into JQUERY when I have time.
    Thanks Pete
    Parent window call to modal
    function modalWin(pshow)
    var url;
    url='f?p=&APP_ID.:'+pshow+':&SESSION.::::SAVE_STATUS:N';
    if (window.showModalDialog) {  window.showModalDialog(url,"name","dialogWidth:650px;dialogHeight:700px");                                          }
    else {
    window.open(url,"name","height=700,width=650,toolbar=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=no ,modal=yes");
    window.location.reload();
    Modal Window Close.

  • Problem with Persistent Object as Reference Attribute of Persistent Object

    Hello All,
    I have a problem with a persistent class that contains a reference attribute to another persistent class.  I can write the reference object attribute to the DB but when I read the reference attribute back from the DB the object is null.  Allow me to explain...
    I have two tables; one is a data table with one key field of type OS_GUID, the second is a mapping table with several business key fields and two further fields; an instance GUID and a class identifier GUID.  The data table is used to contain all the data for an object.  The mapping table is used to hold a relationship between the GUID assigned in the data table and the business key.  The mapping table has been structured in this way by following the help here:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/df/e785a9e87111d4b2eb0050dadfb92b/frameset.htm
    and the field mapping in persistent class for the mapping table has been mapped following the help here:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/06/f23c33638d11d4966d00a0c94260a5/frameset.htm
    The code I use to create entries in the data and mapping table is:
    <-snip->
      DATA:
        gv_blank_data_guid TYPE REF TO zcl_ps_data,
        gv_data_guid       TYPE        os_guid,
        go_data_ps         TYPE REF TO zcl_ps_data,
        go_data_agent      TYPE REF TO zca_ps_data,
        go_data_map_ps     TYPE REF TO zcl_ps_data_map,
        go_data_map_agent  TYPE REF TO zca_ps_data_map,
        go_exc             TYPE REF TO cx_root.
      go_data_agent = zca_ps_data=>agent.
      go_data_map_agent = zca_ps_data_map=>agent.
      TRY.
    Check if there's already data with the business key on the DB
          go_data_map_ps = go_data_map_agent->get_persistent(
                             i_data_ref     = iv_data_ref
                             i_action       = iv_action ).
    ... if there is then exit.
          EXIT.
        CATCH cx_root INTO go_exc.
      ENDTRY.
      TRY.
    Create the data...
          go_data_ps = go_data_agent->create_persistent(
                           i_root_guid = gv_blank_data_guid
                           i_req_date  = iv_req_date ).
          TRY.
    ... finally, write the new data to the data business key map table
              go_data_map_ps = go_data_map_agent->create_persistent(
                                 i_data_ref     = iv_data_ref
                                 i_action       = iv_action
                                 i_data_guid    = go_data_ps ).    "note1
            CATCH cx_root INTO go_exc.
          ENDTRY.
        CATCH cx_os_object_not_found.
      ENDTRY.
      COMMIT WORK.
    <-snip->
    The fact that it is possible to pass the object GO_DATA_PS in the call to GO_DATA_MAP_AGENT (the line that I've put the comment "note1" on) indicates to me that the reference to the data persistent object can be written to the DB by the mapping persistent object.  After executing the above code the mapping table object and class identifier fields are populated.  Also, if multiple entries are written to the tables then the class identifier field in the mapping table is always the same and the object ID is different as expected.
    However, the problem I have is if I read an object from the DB using the business key with the following code:
    <-snip->
      DATA:
        gv_req_date        type        datum,
        gv_data_guid       TYPE        os_guid,
        go_data_ps         TYPE REF TO zcl_ps_data,
        go_data_agent      TYPE REF TO zca_ps_data,
        go_data_map_ps     TYPE REF TO zcl_ps_data_map,
        go_data_map_agent  TYPE REF TO zca_ps_data_map,
        go_exc             TYPE REF TO cx_root.
      go_data_agent = zca_ps_data=>agent.
      go_data_map_agent = zca_ps_data_map=>agent.
      TRY.
    Read data mapping with the business key
          go_data_map_ps = go_data_map_agent->get_persistent(
                             i_data_ref     = iv_data_ref
                             i_action       = iv_action ).
    ... then read the data.
          TRY.
              CALL METHOD go_data_map_ps->get_data_guid
                RECEIVING
                  result = go_data_ps.
            CATCH cx_os_object_not_found.
          ENDTRY.
        CATCH cx_root INTO go_exc.
      ENDTRY.
    <-snip->
    At no point during this code are the attributes of the object of the persistent class for the data table populated with the contents of the fields of the data table referenced as the attribute of the mapping table.  To clarify, when viewing the object in the debugger all the attributes of the mapping object that are simple table fields are populated with the values of the fields of in the mapping table, however, the attributes of the object that represents the persistent class for the data table are not populated with the fields of the data table.  I had hoped that by reading the mapping table object the data object would automatically be populated.  Is there another step I need to perform to populate the data object?
    I'm sorry if the above is hard to follow.  Without being able to provide screenshots it's difficult to explain.
    If someone has managed to store references to persistent objects in a table and then read the references back could you list the steps you went through to create the persistent classes and include the code that reads the objects please?  The code I have almost works, I must be just missing some subtle point...
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve.

    Hi Andrea,
    The iObject being replicated at item level for Service Complaints is the SAP standard behaviour.
    Generally we raise complaint refering to some sales or service issues. In your scenario you are trying to create a complaint based on an iObject, then you have to mention the corresponding product details. I dont see any business requirement not to copy the iObject product at the item level.
    If you want it then I think only you have to write a Z program for it.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do I populate a popup window with data from the parent window

    I am brand new to JSF so please help me. I have a JSF page where users enter some search criteria and it displays the results in a matrix table. I need to have a PRINT button or link on this page that pops up a new window that displays the same data but in a printer-friendly format.
    The parent page is already created and works fine. Now, what is the best way to populate the same data in the popup? The data is stored in a hashmap and retrived by a managed bean with session scope. Below is the XHTML code for displaying the table in the parent page.

  • How to determine the Parent process information in Oracle BPMS 10g

    Hi ,
    I am trying to retrieve the parent process information given the instanceId and Process Id of an instance of a process from a different process.
    I am getting the instanceId of the instance in workspace using the Fuego.Papi.ProcessService and by creating the Filter.
    I tried using the ProcessInstance.parent but it needs to be instantiated using the instance details of my referred instance, which i am not able to do.
    Can some one shed some light on how to get the parent process details from the referred instance.
    Thanks,
    shravan.

    Hi,
    If you mean to increase the request timeout i.e the time when a request is submitted to the server and the response is sent by the server it can be done in httpd.conf file located in $OracleHome/Apache/Apache/conf directory.
    The attribute to be used for setting timeout is "Timeout". By default teh value is 600 seconds i.e 5 minutes.
    After making these changes , run command dcmctl updateConfig -ct OHS and restart the HTTP Server. Please note these commands need to be run only if the httpd.conf changes are done through text editor.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi ,
    You cannot  access the controller attribute instead create an instance of the controller class and access the attribute in the set method
    OR create a static method X in the controller class and store the value in that method. and you can access the attribute by
    Call method class=>X
    OR if the attribute is static you can access by classname=>attribute.

  • Reporting the parent node of InfoObject in a report having the info Object

    Hello Gurus,
    Can I populate a column with a Parent node of an InfoObject1 in the hierarchy just like if it was an attribute of that InfoObject.
    Eg: Lets take ZXXXX which is in a hierachy HXXXX at the child level1 and the Parent is PXXX.
    PXXX is not an attribute of ZXXXXX.
    In a Query QXXXX, I am pulling ZXXXX. Can I Pull PXXXX as well in the report thro the hierarchy.
    Please suggest how?
    Thanks a lot in Advance.
    -Simmi

    Hi Simmi,
           When you create the Hierarchy, you can include the characteristic PXXX in the External Characteristics tab of the Hierarchy maintenance screen. Then you'll be able to specify values for this characteristic in the Hierarchy and use them in the Query.

  • Expression Language to get the navigation model of the parent space

    Hello,
    I am hoping someone can help me with this.
    Scenario: I need my sub-space to use the same navigation model as the parent.
    Reason: Take a space(P) has a navigation model that queries the pages and sub_spaces(S1,S2...) in a space. Using this navigation, if we navigate to a page of a sub_space(S1) of the space, the navigation model for that sub_space(S1) will now query its pages and its sub_spaces. Instead, I want the navigation to still query the pages of the parent space(P) and the sub_spaces(S1,S2) of the parent. Effectively, the navigation contents should not change.
    So, I am thinking of using an EL expression that queries the navigation model of a parent(P) to set the navigation model of the sub_space(S1).
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Pradyumna Nandavanam

    Hi.
    You can define customAttributes for your group spaces like: parentModelPath
    Access it with EL Expression: #{spaceContext.currentSpace.metadata.customAttributes[attributeName]} where attribute name is +'parentModelPath'+
    And with next EL Expression: #{navigationContext.navigationModel['model_path']} you can replace 'model_path' with your customAttribute value.
    Kind Regards.

  • Parent-child repeating frame display parent-attributes

    I have the following object-structure
    M-D-DD-DDD
    so, the tree would look something like
    M1
    --D1
    ----DD1
    ------DDD1
    ------DDD2
    ----DD2
    ------DDD3
    ----DD3
    ------DDD4
    --D2
    ----DD4
    ------DDD4
    I need to display parent's attribute on each page ie
    M1-D1-DD1-DDD1
    M1-D1-DD1-DDD2
    (there would be total five combinations)
    Now, I changed the settings of DD, 'Print Object On'->All pages and 'Base Printing on'->enclosing object,
    but this caused only two records to be displayed in the entire report
    M1-D1-DD1-DDD1 and M1-D2-DD4-DDD4
    so, i changed the settings of all the parent frames and ended up with only one record
    M1-D1-DD1-DDD1
    I cant figure out whats happening.
    Response appreciated.

    Hi Chirag,
    I would say that you try to build a test report with 2 or 3 levels of grouping. For example, an employee report with first level group on Department, and second level group on Manager. Use the Report Wizard to create this report, and choose "Group Above" style.
    Now take a look at the resulting paper layout. The top level group (department) as well as second level group (manager) will appear at the top of every page. Try to use the same settings for "Print object on" and "Base Printing on" as used in this test report.
    Navneet.
