[PERSISTENCE CLASS] CRUD for several records

Hi Gurus !
I was reading several topics regarding the Persistence Class Concept and I had suddenly a question about the management of several records in the database . After few hours, I discovered that there are no generated CRUD implementations by SAP (CRUD = Method Create, Read, Update, Delete).
I would like to know, if I am wrong and I have to continue further my research regarding this point or, there is really no CRUD generated for several records by SAP in persistence class. So have you got any example according this concept ?

But with the Pers.Class ?
You can't
Because Persistence classes consider each row of the DB table as an object, so you can transfer the data to the table en-masse.
May be you'll find the answer you want in Harald's response - Why do we need Persistent Classes ?
Persistence classes aren't meant to be used for mass processing. You can use them when you build a new transaction using ABAP Object Services - Transaction service, Persistence service, Query service.
I am yet to use Persistent classes in productive code, although i know about the concepts for a few years now

I have several web/ejb applications. These applications use some common libraries and should share instances of classes from those libraries.
But applications are being deployed independently thus packaging all them to EAR is not acceptable.
I suppose the problem is that each application uses separate class loader.

You didn't specify which version of the application server you are using, but the config is similar as long as you know what to look for. Basically, you need to change the classloader delegation. Here's how it is done in 8.2

Multiple display formats for several records coming from the same table

Hello all,
I want to create one Crystal Reports XI report to display several records coming from one table, but I need different display format for different records from that one table.
There is a field RecordType and based on that value, the record will be displayed differently on the report page.
Can I have several sections in the report and to define different SQL query in each of them?
Example of the report I need to see on paper:

I can create multiple sections in the report, but I don't know how to split the 20 records that I get back from the database to be displayed in 5 different report sections.
How can I define different SQL statement for each of 5 report sections?
How can I use cross-tabs to display what I need? Can I define SQL statement for each cross-tab and then I could place only RecordType=1 records into cross-tab-1 and all RecordType=2 records into cross-tab-2 ?
In Cognos ReportNet, I defined 2 Queries (SQL statements) and I just placed them in the report one below the other. Query_1 returns 1 record where RecordType value =1. Query_2 returns 5 records where RecordType value =2 and etc. So each record "section" displays record in the way I want it.

Creating several records pr. row in a layout

We are building a BPS solution on an existing BW implementation. In the BPS solution the users will enter adjustments to the data already existing in a BW cube. The adjustments will be stored in a new transactional cube, while keeping the old BW cube.
Our problem is this: We will need to create several records for each row in the layout(s). For example, all entered records should automatically be reversed in the next period.
How can we create additional records? Is an Exit function (ABAP) the only option?

By "automatically reversed" I mean that the amount (the most important, but not the only, key figure) will be negated. That is not possible with a copy function.
But the problem is even more complicated. 'Activity' is a characteristic. Based on an entered record we will need to create one or more derived records with a different activity, but with the activity will be based on the activity of the original record. In some cases we will also need to make calculations on the amount of such derived records.
And both the original record and the derived records will need to be reversed in the next period, i.e. negated amount and period change, which will again double the number of records to write per row in the layout.
The copy function can't both change Activity AND use the Activity of the original record as a condition.
But if we find a way to use the copy function, we would still need to use a FOX formula for changing the amounts (and also some other key figures as well) when necessary. Planning sequences are linear, so I assume it could be difficult for a planning function to execute for several records derived in an earlier step in the same planning sequence.
We have decided to look deeper into the FOX programming language and see if it's flexible enough to solve all of these tasks.

There is no standard report. You can use the inspection report button in QA02/QA03 to generate a report on a single inspectoin lot. You'll want to modify the SAPscript provided by SAP more than likely as the one provided is provided only as an example.

The mappings seem to be alright at a first glance.
Have you tried out un- and redeploying your application? Sometimes values appear to be cached in the server. So if you have deployed the application before you entered DB_BANK as alias this might solve the problem...

Eth0 is being up and down for several time during boot

My wicd doesn't connect to eth0 on the first attempt after boot up. It is configured to eth0 always have a higher priority to connect.
My dmesg shows that eth0 being up and down for several time during boot. I have e1000e in my MODULES list.

If you have moved the Safari application from the Applications folder, move it back.
As far as the cache goes, there's a work around for that when you can't empty the Safari cache from the menu bar.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.aple.Safari.Cache.db. Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

How efficiently we use ABAP code to insert several records in database tab

Here I have a requirement to add several records ( approx 50 thousand) into database tables. We used hr_infotype_operation as standard function module to insert employee info in several infotypes.
I'm looking for a best way that we can call database. I mean database calls should be significantly lower while inserting records.
Can we execute sequence of statements at a time for all employees? Do we have ABAP standard techniques in place?
As per currently process it takes approx more than 1 hr to exact and update infotype tables for all employees ... it's really helpful to reduce the time even in fraction of minutes.

Ofcourse the time will be less if you will use update statements.you will be bypassing a lot of sap's standard code.
But, I and anybody will strongly suggest to use the FM hr_infotype_operation, because it will make sure the integrity of data as if it is entered through PA30, will run all user exit and stuff.
There is a performance factor, but you can make it run faster by initializing the buffer after each call to FM hr_infotype_operation, by calling FM HR_PSBUFFER_INIT

One check for several vendors

Hi Gurus: I am trying to create one payment for several vendors. I tried F-58 and it works fine. I also created a unique payment method to map to a specific account. The business requirement is "How can we pay one check to American Express" for several invoices from several vendors". So I added American Express as an alternative payee to each of the vendors. All works fine except that the client wants the record on the FCHX file that is sent to the bank as well as one check for that vendor. FCHX means that we would need to use F110 & not F-58. However in F110 I cannot group several vendors to be paid by one payee...correct?
Any help with be GREATLY Appreciated!

I'm afraid I don't have an answer but I'd like to highlight the question/thread since we have the same issue.
We have several cases of invoice documents that needs to be posted to different vendors, because we need to report the Accounts Payable on the different vendors' VAT numbers for legal purposes. The payments for several documents might, however, be going to the same payee. I.e. we might have ten invoices booked on ten different vendors but with only one payee.
We are using the alternative payee/permitted payee functionality but the problem is that F110 generates one payment document per vendor. We would like to have one document per payee. This is possible in F-53 or F-58 (where I can manually select several vendors in the same clearing) but we need to use F110 since we are generating both check printouts and DMEE files for these payments. The bank charges us a fee for each payment, so in the example mentioned they would charge us ten fees instead of one. So it is very costly if this cannot be solved.
Any suggestions? The setting mentioned previously in this thread does not help.

Map several records to different elements in the same xml node

Hi,
I am trying to map data from relational tables to elements as per my xml schema. One of my tables has several records that I need to map to different elements in the same xml node.
For example:
Customer_Id | Param_Id |Param_Name
212 | 1 |State
212 | 2 |Country
212 | 3 |ZipCode
I can not change the structure of this existing table and need to work with it.
How do I map the different params for a specific customer to my Customer node in the schema?
One option is to join on the parameters table several times, but there ought to be a better way!

First I question the design that contains/allows 600 attributes on an element. They sound like they really should be elements in the XML.

How to update Record Model for old Records(Personnel Record) in DPF?

i was able to successfully implement Digital Personnel files and Record Management for my scenario, but now question is:
i have created a record for personnel using "SE38--> Report (RPASRCREATEDPF)" or "Tx RPASRCREATEDPF) after a while i decided to add a node to my record model , how can i update my personnel records to new record model?
i need to do it for several staff and this is not logical to change record for every individual staff. Also when i deleted a record and recreated it all of old Archived and Processed Document gone.
Any Idea?

Thank you for your very helpful answer, i tried that report and it has changed my records but problem is, i am using SAP sample record model , i have changed some Nodes Name and it seem name change has not taken effect in my records, those nodes that i added to my record model is correctly transferred, but some changes has not affected my personnel records.

OID: how to store employees who works for several companies

we estimate possible ways how to store employee records into OID. Our OeBs instance serves company group (several companies). If I understand it rigth thees companies should be translated into several 'o'-nodes in terms of LDAP under common 'dc' base node (we use single domain for all).
How to store persons who works for several companies inside our group at the same time?
Should we load such type of employees simultaneously into several appropriate branches of LDAP-tree (an employee will be represented as a number of 'cn' nodes)
or
should we consider some another way to insist on one-to-one relationship between employee and its 'cn' node?

You may go ahead a make the last name as optional in Screen modification for international employees.

They already have your number and/or email address and maybe have sold it several times already to others as well. They also use number generators - software that will automatically create them - some work and some don't, they don't care, they send out millions and a few will fall for it and send them money. The only way to "hide" would be to change both and your password, but then it would happen again at some point.
