Persistent Cookie mode

Hi,
I have configured a portal server with gateway to be able to be accessed as an authlessanonymous portal. Now I want the login channel to remember my username and password. In DSAME I found the option persistant cookie mode in the Core authentication module and login channel. I switched the persistent cookie mode on in both places.
After switching on the persistent cookie mode I get a checkbox on the login channel of the authlessanonymous desktop, with the text remember my username and password. But when I check this box and login, the username and password are not rembembered if I close my browser and open a new one. It does not matter if I access the authelessanonymous desktop through the gateway or not.
Has anyone found a way to get this working?
regards, Misja.

There has not been a solution offered and I am experiencing the same problem.

  • Portal Login & persistent cookie

    V 6.2
    I had done the following on the IS to enable the persistent cookie for Portal session
    1. Under the service config, checked the 'Persistent Cookie Mode' and gave the max allowed value in the Core Authentication template.
    2. Did the same under the Org (have just one org).
    I login to the Portal as http://machine.example.com/portal/dt?iPSPCookie=YES, close the browser and come back to the same URL but am being challenged for re-authentication.
    Did I miss any configuration to make this happen? Any pointers would be helpful.
    TIA

    What happens if you go to http://machine.example.com/amserver instead, after restarting the browser?

  • Issues with sessionId and persistent cookie in WL6.1

              I am using WL6.1 and I discovered the following from a brief experiment using a
              JSP which sets persistent cookies. The results are the same when I use IE browser
              or the HDML emulator.
              The name of the weblogic session cookie (weblogic.xml) is "_ses".
              Steps below. The server logs are included:
              1. Delete the persistent cookies relevant to the server.
              2. Access the jsp. SessionId is generated, say 12345.
              3. Close browser. My_Cookie1=blah is saved on client.
              4. Access server again. The cookie My_Cookie1=blah sent
              5. The server sets the SessionId to Cookie1=blah. The sessionId is set from the
              persistent cookie. Also, the String after the first underscore is the sessionId.
              When I change the name of the weblogic session cookie (weblogic.xml) to something
              without an underscore, such as "JSESSIONID" or "someCookieName", and repeat the
              steps, the sessionId is not attempted to be read from the persistent cookie.
              Why is this so?
              Thanks,
              Niranjan

    Issue 1 is a know "feature" with Macs using an optical output.
    Issue 2 is still unresolved. Why can't Front Row act as a video jukebox just as well as it can for audio.
    Issue 3 is still unresolved. If I select a libray that has both audio and video files, Front Row will only play the audio and not the video. Seems like it should be smart enough to "switch" to play that video.
    Issue 4 seems to be resolved. I run visualizer all the time now and my TV does not switch out of 1080i any more.
    Issue 5 seems to be resolved. I think the trick is that the TV show name has to be filled in for the system to recognize it as a TV show. Guess Apple didn't orginally figure people would add TV shows not purchsed through the iTunes store.
    Issue 6 was realted to using files that are copy protected. But why iTunes XML file can't just keep the name that I want in it's directory rather than the name that is embedded in the file is still a mystery to me.

  • A bug with persistent cookie?

    Hi
    I have opensso 8, apache 2.0.x, Agent 3 for Apache 2.x, installed in my laptop (XP) with persistent cookie disabled (by default).
    However, I found something weird here ....
    1. I launched firefox/IE, logged to opensso, access protected resource on Apache
    2. I launched another firefox/IE instance (using start-->firefox/IE), the newly launched firefox/IE can display protected resource without authentication.
    Is this a bug?
    Thanks
    JXXE

    Nerver mind ..... Looks like the XP in my laptop is somehow screwed. I observed the same behavior when I access other public applications (without cookie persistence) from my laptop. However, the browsers from other computer just work fine in terms of cookie persistence
    I am not sure the real reason ..... but guess that the XP forces different instances of browser to share the same memory space for browser profile, when too many stuff running in my laptop.

  • I set cookie permissions for a domain to "Allow for session" and at a later time it has changed to "Allow first party only" and now allows persistent cookies.

    As it says above, I have cookies set to always ask. I go to a domain (i.e. google) and it asks and I allow for session only. Some time later it will change to "first party only" and start to allow persistent cookies for the domain.

    Hello,
    Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
    Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
    To clear cache and cookies do the following:
    #Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], choose History, and then Clear Recent History....
    #Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
    #Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
    #From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
    #Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
    Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
    Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Non-persistent cookies

    You are having trouble because the path they provided is not what you need.

  • Can I remove persistent cookies in Safari?

    In Safari V.7.1 (9537.85.10.17.1) I have to remove some cookies twice in Preferences/Privacy. Is there an extension that alerts me about persistent cookies and LSOs? Thank you.

    There is not an Apple extension that does that...you might try the App Store and see if anyone has such...but I would be highly suspicious.  You might also check Thomas Reed's site, http://www.thesafemac.com and his AdwareMedic and see what he has available.

  • FedAuth Cookie intermittently set as persistent cookie

    I have a following situation. Have a Sharepoint 2013 farm with 8 Front end servers with 2 of them allocated for Central
    Adimin. I have to setup the fedAuth cookie as session cookie to ensure, the session get removed when the user closes the browser.
    Ran the following PS script to configure session cookies.
    $sts = Get-SPSecurityTokenServiceConfig
    $sts.UseSessionCookies = $true
    $sts.Update()
    iisreset
    Even after this configuration, I see FedAuth is being set as Persistent cookie with an expiration date. FedAuth cookie
    is setup as Persistent cookie intermittently. Any insight on this intermittent behavior will be very helpful.

    Hi moothi_na,
    i hope this explanation can be help to understand
    "The default behavior of SharePoint is to store this persistent cookie on the user’s disk, with fixed expiration date"
    as Inderjeet Singh Jaggi posted before, you may need to set addtitional requirements steps to fix this expiration date as you need.

  • Persistent cookie for login

    I have a client who would like to have a persistent cookie set so that the user would not need to login to their portal each time they access it from a new browser window. If the user goes to another client or the cookie expires, then the standard login would naturally apply. Any ideas on how I can implement this requirement? Any approaches or alternatives would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Jay

    We also have the same requirement. I haven't found any Portal documentation on how to implement the persistent login and remembering the password.

  • Help on session & persistent cookie

    Hi,
    I know the diff betw session and persistent cookie but i didn't understand how do i create session and persistent cookies...
    What is the code to create session cookie and persistent cookie ....
    Please can any one help to me ...
    Example of Session cookie:
    Cookie myCookie = new Cookie("mycookie", "myvalue");
    myCookie.setPath("/path");
    myCookie.setMaxAge(60 * 24 * 3600);
    response.addCookie(myCookie);
    How do i create persistent cookie?
    Thanks.

    A persistent cookie is stored on the hard drive while a session ccokie goes away when the browser is closed. How a cookie is stored is determined bythe setMaxAge method.
    A positive value indicates that the cookie will expire after that many seconds have passed. Note that the value is the maximum age when the cookie will expire, not the cookie's current age.
    A negative value means that the cookie is not stored persistently and will be deleted when the Web browser exits. A zero value causes the cookie to be deleted.
    Example of persistent cookie:
    Cookie myCookie = new Cookie("mycookie", "myvalue");
    myCookie.setPath("/path");
    myCookie.setMaxAge(60 * 24 * 3600);
    response.addCookie(myCookie);
    Example of session cookie:
    Cookie myCookie = new Cookie("mycookie", "myvalue");
    myCookie.setPath("/path");
    myCookie.setMaxAge(-1);
    response.addCookie(myCookie);

  • Persistent cookies not staying persistent!

    I'm a web developer and I use cookies on some of my sites to add to the functionality, for example: In an e-commerce site remembering to display only [User selected amount] of products instead of [All the products ] at once, depending on what the user has chosen. However I've been noticing that cookies set to be persistent are being deleted or removed like if they were temporary cookies, even when Firefox’s settings are not set to do that. This is a troubling issue and I'm starting to feel it may be a bug? IE, Safari, and Opera work completely fine with the given example and to the best of my ability Firefox (3.6) is set up to be saving these type of cookies. I've only noticed this issue after updating to the newest version of Firefox so is this a known bug?

    It probably takes less than a second to restore them because those cookies are opt-out cookies that are created by the TACO extension. Such cookies can only be removed if you uninstall that extension.
    Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out (TACO): https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/11073
    <blockquote>TACO with Abine prevents over 100 different online advertising networks (including Google, Microsoft and Yahoo) from displaying highly targeted advertisements using the detailed information on your web surfing habits. TACO disables most behavioral advertising by setting 100+ permanent, generic, non personally identifiable "opt-out" cookies directly into the browser.<br>
    <br>
    Unlike other opt-out solutions, this tool will make the opt out cookies completely persistent. That is, clearing the browser's cookies will delete all other installed cookies, except these.
    </blockquote>

  • How can I quickly and easily delete persistent cookies? Is there something special about them?

    Yes, I realize you delete cookies by going to Preferences/Privacy/Details if you don't want to mass-delete all of them (which you usually don't want to do). But it seems cookies from some sites take 3, 4, sometimes 5 select/deletes to finally get rid of them.
    Is there something unusual about some cookies that makes them so difficult to get rid of? Is there anything you can do about it, other than multiple deletions?

    Yes, some cookies appear to be more persistent than others.  Then again, there are different types of cookies, basic, flash, databases.  Some require a different approach.
    Take a look at this app.  I have used it for some time.
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cookie/id415585910?mt=12
    PS.   Is you profile up to date?
