Personal Query

Dear Experts,
I'm searching for a query that makes a report personally. For example: I made a absence report, now my college needs to look how many days she has left, but she is not authorised to see the absence days of there/my other colleges.
So a dropdown menu is not possible, It would be great if the information popup of the user how’s logged on.
Is this possible by a query or is there another solution?
Thanks
SAP Version: SAP 8.82 PL10

Hi,
Yes possible by means of "Alert"
1. Assign created query in Alert management
2. Add required user to get an alert
3. Set frequency as per your need.

  • How to define a JPA "Entity" used to query multiple database tables

    While using JPA to access database, I have a need to define a generic "Entity" class to use for query different tables. The reason is I have a lot of non-business tables (reference tables) I need to query. I intend to use Native SQL to do the query. Most query will only return 1 - 3 columns. It is tedious to define many JPA entities only to use them sparsely.
    For example, if I have two Native query, and define a JavaBean that has 3 properties, how do I implement this in JPA?
    Thanks for your help.
    query 1:
    select LASTNAME as f1, AGE as f2 from PERSON
    query 2:
    select zipcode as f1 from LOCATION
    package model.uti;
    public class SimpleBean {
    private String f1;
    private String f2;
    private String f3;
    public SimpleBean() {
    public void setF1(String f1) {
    this.f1 = f1;
    public String getF1() {
    return f1;
    public void setF2(String f2) {
    this.f2 = f2;
    public String getF2() {
    return f2;
    public void setF3(String f3) {
    this.f3 = f3;
    public String getF3() {
    return f3;
    }

    An @Entity is mapped to a specific table. You can't fill it with totally random data from a collection of tables.
    If you want to access data from multiple tables within the one entity, then the JPA spec defines an annotation @SecondaryTable, which allows you to specify a
    second table and the join condition.
    http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/api/javax/persistence/SecondaryTable.html
    The JPA spec talks about this as do most good EJB/JPA books.

  • Bad SQL for JDO query

    Kodo JDO EE 2.3 RC1 (with InstantDB on JBoss 3.0 on JDK 1.3.1 on Mac
    OS X 10.1.5) generates wrong SQL for a JDO query with a parameter.
    Essentially (unimportant details omitted) I have the following:
    2 associated persistence-capable classes
    public class Person
         private String name;
    public class Issue
         private int id;
         private Person owner;
    both with application-managed identity (Person by name, Issue by id),
    both in the same package. I want to search the database for all Issues
    owned by a certain Person. My code looks like this:
    @pre p is persistent
    Collection findByOwner(Person p){
         // pm is the PersistenceManager
         //TODO pm.newQuery(Issue.class, filter) does not work with Kodo 2.3 RC1
         Extent extent = pm.getExtent(Issue.class, true);
         Query query = pm.newQuery(extent, "owner==person");
         query.setClass(Issue.class);
         query.setIgnoreCache(true);
         query.declareParameters(Person.class.getName() + " person");
         return (Collection)query.execute(p);
    and produces the following SQL statement
    SELECT t0.IDX, t0.JDOCLASSX, t0.JDOLOCKX, t0.NAME_OWNERX FROM ISSUEX
    t0, PERSONX t1 WHERE (t1.NAMEX = NULL AND t0.NAME_OWNERX = t1.NAMEX)
    which is wrong because the actual p.name, which is definitely not nil,
    got lost, and is even rejected by the database*, probably because
    NAMEX is the primary key and cannot be NULL.
    I am pretty sure that this used to work correctly with Kodo 2.2.4. Can
    anyone tell me what I could be doing wrong? I will provide the full
    source code at request.
    Thanks,
    Jakob
    * SQLException:
    Don't understand SQL after: "WHERE"
    Expected: "{" found: "NULL"

    This issue has been resolved in internal builds.
    Some tangential notes about the code below:
    - in our latest version, we no longer require extents when executing
    queries (the candidate class is sufficient).
    - I'm a little concerned about where the 'pm' variable came from in
    Issue.findByOwner(). If that's a member variable, you'd be better off
    doing 'JDOHelper.getPersistenceManager (this)' instead of caching it on
    your own -- this way, you'll avoid any potential issues with somehow
    using the wrong PM or something.
    - Given that all the info is stored in the database already, I'd suggest
    making the relation a bidirectional one, so that you can just traverse
    from Issue to Person without needing to do a query. This will be faster,
    as we will be able to leverage our PM and PMF caches rather than needing
    to execute a query against the data store.

  • Linkage of SO, PR and PO

    Hi
    In Back 2 Back Order -- sales order, purchase requisition and purchase order are interlinked. Is there any link/number visible on Frontend which can show the linkage to User.
    I understand that in Sales Order -> tools --> scheduling --> reservation details will show the linked PR and PO at different stages. But once item is received, no longer the linkage is shown in the form as it in INVENTORY. Qstn is How will the Sales Order User know what was the PR and PO created to get the stock from the supplier?
    Also, in PR I can see the Sales Order Number in Note to Buyer field, but in PO how do i see the Sales Order Number? And when receipt is done, how will the receiving person query based on Sales Order Number and when receiving the Goods can see the SO Headerand SO Line Number ? In PO, for drop ship we have separate Tab at Shipment, is there any other field which captures the Sales Order Number so that the PO User can see the linkage of PO Line to Sales Order Line?
    We are in 11.5.10.2
    Any help would be highly appreciated?
    Thanks

    We had similar issues in the past. We solved them by doing a mini customization.
    The customization created an short-text attachment of the type "Note to receiver" at the PR level. The attachment included the Sales order # and line#.
    This attachment flows from the PR to PO and is also available to the receiving clerk during receipt.
    However, once the PO is received, we did not transfer the information to onhand. I don't think one can unless the item was serialized or lot controlled.
    Hope this helps,

  • Error : CONNECT BY loop in user data

    Getting CONNECT BY loop in user data:
    Table X  (sample data actually have 35K rows)

    now I need to order this data comparing row values of old_id to new_id for each of the combinations of code, person, case
    need output like below
    Table X
    CODE             CASE              OLD_ID                NEW_ID            PERSON       AUTH

    to get this I am using:
    --Query--
    select * from table_x
    start with old_id not in(
                                      select new_id
                                      from table_x
    CONNECT BY old_id = PRIOR new_id
           AND   code   = PRIOR code
           AND   case   = PRIOR case
           AND   person = PRIOR person
    --Query--
    runs fine with sample data but the problem is when excute it with actual table that has 35K records..
    Cause: The condition specified in a CONNECT BY clause caused a loop in the query, where the next record to be selected is a descendent of itself. When this happens, there can be no end to the query.
    Action: Check the CONNECT BY clause and remove the circular reference.
    Thanks,
    AK

    Hi,
    CONNECT_BY_ISCYCLE is a pseudo-column that you can use in a CONNECT BY NOCYCLE query.  It's separate from the CONNECT BY clause.
    Try this:
    select  code, "CASE", person
    ,       SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH (old_id, '/') AS path
    from    table_x
    where   CONNECT_BY_ISCYCLE = 1
    start with  old_id not in (
                                      select new_id
                                      from table_x
    CONNECT BY NOCYCLE old_id = PRIOR new_id
            AND        code   = PRIOR code
            AND        "CASE" = PRIOR "CASE"
            AND        person = PRIOR person
    I hope this answers your question.
    If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only), and also post the results you want from that data.
    Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
    Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0).

  • Need help further tuning view source for outer join

    I have been working on tuning views for use in Discoverer for some time, and I have greatly improved upon what was there, but it is still not where I need it to be. There are 2 views the users join together in Discoverer - one for contract lines, and one for contract flexfields. Run as a 1 to 1 join on contract number, performance is great. However, as soon as I have an outer join on flexfields, the performance is awful. We are talking a difference of under a minute to hours and hours. I have to be able to perform an outer join because there can be contracts without flexfields. Can anyone suggest an alternative method to get the data or further tuning? I will paste both the contract lines and contract flexfields source - I have tuned the flexfields but have done nothing to date with the lines.

    I am afraid slow performance is a built in feature of this database design, not much you can do in queries.
    You could possibly create the views as materialized views and query those instead.
    Quote from the linked article
    But, how does it perform? Miserably, terribly, horribly. A simple "select
    first_name, last_name from person" query is transformed into a 3-table join with
    aggregates and all. Further, if the attributes are "NULLABLE" - that is, there
    might not be a row in OBJECT_ATTRIBUTES for some attributes, you may have to
    outer join instead of just joining which in some cases can remove more optimal
    query plans from consideration.
    Writing queries might look pretty straightforward, but it's impossible to do in
    a performant fashion.

  • Execute Web Template without personalization for the current User

    Hi,
    I executed a BI Web Template, on SAP Enterprise Portal, which has been provided as a Portal content on the detailed navigation section.
    Then, I navigate within the template, and I saved a personalized query view (the status of navigation of the report - applied filters, selected characteristics and key figures), through the button "Save Personalization" (standard command "SAVE_PERSONALIZATION")
    Now, each time the same User executes the same BI query from the detailed navigation,
    he get, as result, the personalized views.
    How to reset the Portal Content to the original query which has been built on Query Designer? (meanings, as it was before pressing the "Save Personalization" button)
    Moreover, is there a standard command for WT buttons like "Back to Start" (which not apply on this), to reset the original state of the query.
    Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hi,
    try useing parameter
    &USE_PERSONALIZATION=false
    when calling the WebTemplate

  • JTA Transaction and CUrrent Session

    We have the following problem. We configured hibernate with
    jta and when we execute a simple code that performs some hibernate
    queries we get the following error:
    "org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException: could not
    initialize proxy - the owning Session was closed"
    We discovered that if we leave the session opened the error
    disapears, but on the long run this crashes the server throwing a
    JDBC connection error.
    We tried to use getCurrentSession() instead of opening the
    session manualy but in this case we get the following error:
    "org.hibernate.HibernateException : Unable to locate current
    UserTransaction"
    This its quite strange because the current session should be
    bound to the current user transaction and its seems to us that our
    hibernate cfg file its ok.
    I´am posting part of my hibernate cfg file and the code

    The scenario you described is typical ... "If a client calls m1" ... there are 2 cases:
    (1) the client is already in a trans
    (2) not (1)
    Let (1). This is the case of a Client Controlled Transaction ... etc ... when s1 is called it begins a transaction in the client transactional context ... hence s1 can't call a kind of roolback but can force the rollback of the global transaction marking EJBContext.setRollbackOnly() ... s2 uses the same transactional context ... anayway the client is the only one that can commit. This happens because of "transaction required" as the transaction attribute, that in this case forces a flat transaction model. Different is the case if you uses "requiredNew" --> nested trans model ...
    (2) is the same of (1) except that the trans starts at application tier.
    "I still have one doubt. Wouldn't the stateless session bean loose the transaction context once I exit the second stateles session bean's method? Isn't that what stateless means? "
    No:
    stateless doesn't stay for the transaction context but for the conversational state with the client ... that is serializable ... it makes the beans more poolable ... that the stateful session bean has

  • Resource Availability Summary ASCP Bench 11.5.9

    In this form from ASCP I can only get the following columns: Org, Dept./Line, Resource, From Date, To Date, UOM and Total Available. I know on the MRP bench there is additional data like Net Available. Is there a profile that needs to be set or is it that we don't run to a constrained plan?

    Michael,
    Raja is correct. In the ASCP Planners workbench, utilize the 'view by' selection. Select 'Resources', query up your specific resource and right click to select 'horizontal plan'.
    If you were using 11.5.10, you could navigate more quickly by using a personal query. But the above method will work.
    The horizontal plan provides different views of information, depending on which entity you have selected (a supply/demand record, a supplier, a resource). You can select which columns to view by setting your user preferences. Navigate by selecting "tools" from the top menu, then "preferences". In this case, you are selecting the rows to display for the "resource" view.

  • Minimize SQL round trips

    We want to minimize SQL roun trips:
    1. We have 3 object types: parcel, folder and document
         object schema:
              parcel - contains one or more folders          folder - contains one or
    more documents
    document - belong to one folder
         db schema contains these as 3 tables.
         use case: show all documents belong to all folders of a parcel.
         objective: minimize number of SQLs issued. Want to avoid[minimize]:
              1. one SQL to get collection of folders
              2. iterate thru folder collection, and issue separate SQL to get
    documents belong to one folder.
    If we have 50 folders, we will issue 51 SQL statements.
         possibility:
              Is there a way to be able to performa a "join" of folder and document to
    obtain the collection via one SQL?? mapping? extension?

    Stephen,
    Just to clarify, here is simple example.
    Did you mean something like this?
    public class Person {
    long id;
    String name;
    List addresses=new ArrayList();
    public long getId() {
    return id;
    public void setId(long id) {
    this.id = id;
    public String getName() {
    return name;
    public void setName(String name) {
    this.name = name;
    public List getAddresses() {
    return addresses;
    public void setAddresses(List addresses) {
    this.addresses = addresses;
    public class Address {
    long id;
    String street;
    Person person;
    public long getId() {
    return id;
    public void setId(long id) {
    this.id = id;
    public String getStreet() {
    return street;
    public void setStreet(String street) {
    this.street = street;
    public Person getPerson() {
    return person;
    public void setPerson(Person person) {
    this.person = person;
    Query q = pm.newQuery();
    q.setCandidates(pm.getExtent(Person.class,true));
    q.setFilter("id>0");
    List persons = (List)q.execute();
    q=pm.newQuery();
    q.setCandidates(pm.getExtent(Address.class, true));
    q.declareParameters("java.util.Collection persons");
    q.declareVariables("Person p");
    q.setFilter("persons.contains(p) && p==person");
    outputPersonsByIteratingOverAddressList((List)q.execute(persons));
    when I am iterating over list of Addresses and doing .getPerson() there is
    no additional select statement to load Person, so in this way it works,
    but it would not work if I would be iterating over Person list and doing
    getAddresses(), then additional select statement is executed per every
    call regardless, what I kind of can understand (jdo needs to know which
    Address instances belongs to this Person...)

    As I recall, in 2.5+ you may be able specify a Collection parameter in
    which you could pass the document instances:
    pm.newQuery (Folder.class, "paramFolders.contains (folder)")
    Though I haven't tested this at all and may not work.

    The problem is in way FCO are loaded, once I have collection of documents
    and I am trying to access folder fields for that document, for every
    document in collection additional SQL statement to load folder (assuming
    that every document is in different folder) is executed.

  • SAP SD or CRM

    Greetings,
    I have a 3 months of SAP SD end user experience and I have skimmed the Text “Implementing SAP R/3  sales and distribution by Glynn C.Williams
    I have collated the material for the SD certification and also intended to do the training at SAP Institute.
    My mate who is working as an XI consultant with SAP, says its better off to get into CRM rather going for SD and later CRM.
    I am hesitant about this because I know nothing about CRM and would be a fresh start; with SD at least I have the basic understanding of how the sales process works as I have a 3 month end user experience.
    Kindly advise do I stick with SD or move into CRM?

    Dear Rasiq,
    Let me elaborate you on your query. The query is not why not CRM.
    The answer is:
    1) You are equipped to take the challenges in SD ( trust me there are enough challenges).
    2) There is no issue of plenty of SD consultants. If there are plenty of consultants, it means the module is doing good and requires lot more people who can contribute in this module.
    3) You have invested some amount of time and money in this module, so better stick to it and decide yourself if you are able to contibute in this module.
    You can mail me for any personal query through the email id which is there in my business card. Communicating through any other mode is not encouraged in this forum.
    Hope this helps you.
    Regards,
    Rakesh
