Personalization in Advance Table

All,
When I change the value of property "Records Displayed" through personalization for advanced table , it does not get reflected in the UI , where as if I do setting Property value "Record Set Size" is getting reflected in the HGRID UI.
Is this issue with Advanced Table, or are we missing anything on this?

Mukul,
I also had that though that it might be overridden in controller code. But it doesn't look possible on multiple pages and I can't think of a scenario where they have to set it programatically on multiple pages. Makes sense if the bean was created and rendered dynamically but not on all the pages :)

Column not displaying after added by personalization in Advance table

Hi,
I am working in Upgradation project from 11i to R12. I saw that the personalization have alredy migrated in the R12 instance. However these personalization are not displaying in Advance tabel in R12. these are the 4 custom columns which are already present and displaying in 11i. But these are not displaying in R12. I have check Functiona administrator that the personalization are not deactivated. Have checked that rendered property is TRUE for that personalization. I have also checked .xml file from list customization and print document -- jdr_utils...but the files are same in 11i and R12. I have added a custom column by personalizatio but this column also not displaying. Can you please take a light on this issue...I will be highly thankful to you?

Hi Vikram,
Check 4 Custom Attribute is available or not in Translatable Items of Particular Page Via About This Page link.
If attribute available then Please do Re-personalization only in R12 for 4 custom column.
Otherwise You need to do VO Extension Again in R12.

Advanced Table in OAFramework.

Hi,
I am trying to personalize the advanced table in OAFramework to make sure that atleast one row is mandatory. I.e. i have a button to add a row and then enter the values in that row. I also have a delete button to delete the row. I made the row mandatory so that atleast one row should not be empty. But eventhough i make the row mandatory, the user can enter a value and then delete the row.
I tried in several ways using personalization but couldn't stop that. I thought of customizing the page but not sure how to capture the property of the advanced table and make it mandatory so that atleast 1 row is not deleted from the table.
Any help is appreciated.

I did like you said but now it doesn't allow to delete any new row which we create in the table. Basically its not allowing the delete functionality.

Adding a column in advanced table using personalizations

Is it possible to add a column in advanced table using personalizations.
If Yes , then i am not able get "Create Item" Icon on Advanced table Level personalizations . Can some one give reason? or there is any other way to create Item in Adavnce table.

The support for adding an item in advancedTable is supported from 11.5.10 CU3 onwards. But you can manually add an item in the personalization document and upload it and that should work. I had earlier provided the xml tags for doing that in one of threads and you should be able to find that in the forum. If you are not getting it I will search it for you. We supported the same way of addition using personalization in CU3 so manual addition in to the pers document should be fine for this requirement only.

Get Row reference in advanced table to set the value of custom column

Hi,
I have a requirement to add a new column PHP Amount in Manage Charge page which is a entry page where all the charges are entered for a PO. This region is based on Advanced table.
As per requirement, Newly created column should populate the value of the existing column (Amount) or vice verse i.e. value entered in amount column should be set to PHP Amount column for a particular row. and the value entered in PHP amount should be stored in the custom table.
I have added the column via personalization and setting the view attribute in extended controller as this column is not the part of the database table on which the VO is based upon. Also added a PPR event in process request function in controller. And getting the reference of the row in processForm Request's PPR event and invoking the method defined in my custom AM for getting and setting the columns values . Here i can't extend the root AM as the Page have LOV columns so i have created my custom AM and adding it dynamically in controller.

I m not able to set the PHP Amount column value entered in Amount column. But i am able to set the Amount column value to PHP amount column.
I m not getting the Row Reference in case PPR event triggered in PHP Amount column . It is giving Null reference in case of PHP Amount.
I don't know what i m missing ..Can anyone help me here..

but using second way you will not be able to save those record in database, to save in database you have to override setter method also

Want to change the default sort order of a Advanced table

Hi all ,
Hope all of you doing good.
I am trying to change the deafult sort order of a " View Applicants" advanced table on Irecruitment selfservice page , using personalization feature but its not sorting as expected.
The default sort order is asc by the name of the applicants. I wanted to override it by " Date Applied " desc using personalizing the advanced table.
But its not sorting by Date applied and still shows the sort by applicant name.
Any inputs will be greatly helpful

Hey guys m I got the answer for the below question.
Oracle have few Restriction and limitation on such Advanced table in sorting the data,
Few of them are as mentioned below ...
1. Sorting is not allowed for tables that allow inserts.
2. Sorting is not supported for tables containing updateable columns
3. Sorting is disabled when the Select column is checked for a row in a table or when Hide/Show is present in a table.
Because of the above limitations , we cannot sort or override the existing alphabetical name sort order to Date applied sort order on the View Applicant advanced table.
You can observe that , View Applicant page is having an option called "Update Status" which allow us to update applicant’s status or rating in the Advanced table.
On such updatable advanced tables, oracle does not allow us to override the sort order on any of the table columns.
Keeping it in a nutshell , I can say it's does not allow us to change the sort order of the view applicant advanced table ( which is having updateable columns ) to sort them in Date applied instead of Name( which is default ).

How to embed a advance table region in a seeded page

I want to create a advance table region as custom region. CAN IT BE DONE THROUGH PERSONALIZATION?
how to import this region .
does it need apache bounce.

Advance Table Width Formatting

Hi
I have created a shared region having a advance table.
I added the shared region in the page using personalization.
The table width changes as per the data contained in it.
Sometimes, the user has to horizontally scroll on the browser.
I want to data to be displayed in table without the need for horizontal scrolling.
I tried to specify the column width, but it does not work.
Also, the cell No Wrap property is all set to default "False".
is there any way to control the width and cause the data to wrap instead of horizontal scrolling.

No, you can't handle this.
See this note from dev guide:
No matter what value you specify for the table width, if the width is not large enough to accommodate the table content, the value is overridden at display time to take up the minimum amount of necessary space.

1.) U can create a new custom OAAdvanced table under a custom region using JDeveloper.
2.) Create stack layout bean using personalization on the page ,and in extend property of StackLayoutBean mention the complete path of above custom region .

Advanced Table does not refresh after database level action

Hi,
I have a page which has an advanced table. I update the advanced table from the page do some validations, update some DB level columns(also part of advanced table) and see that the changes are saved to the DB but the advanced table does not show the updates done at the DB level.
I tried clearing the VO Cache and re-executing the VO but still it does not refresh the Advanced table data.
This is very critical requirement for the client, any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

This is how I am calling a DB package. the package does updates on the table. once done I am issueing a commit and requerying the data, however the vo is not getting refreshed.... Can someone point out what am I missing... why is the VO not getting refreshed....

Unable to show error message in Advanced Table

I have an requirement to show a pdf ouput when user clicks on image or button in advanced table. You are throwing the message and then catching it yourself, and then printing the stack, which is what java is doing.
So, you need to
remove
}catch(Exception e)
e.printStackTrace();
and you would need to place the try block appropriately, since some methods you have used want exceptions caught.

Records Not Getting Displayed in Advanced Table

Hi All ,
I am rendering an advanced table that displays some records . i have created a VO that is tagged to this Table . The Table was displaying the records satisfactorily initially . Now suddenly the table shows no Search Conducted .
I checked the VO and the AM . I found out that the query gets executed when the executeQuery() Method is called . The records are also fetched . (i verified this using methods like getRowCount() , getFetchedRowCount() , getRowCountInRange )
But the records dont get displayed on the page . What could be the problem . Kindly Help !

Did you make any change to VO later on which might have change the column aliases?
If you are sure of VO returning the rows during page call, then I will suggest to delete the mapping from table and do that again.

Get Total of a Column of Advanced Table and use it in Controller in OAF

I have an advanced table on my custom page. I am calculating total of a column in my footer. I am acheiving this using the standard functionality of advanced table by setting total value property of my column to "TRUE" and displaying the total in the tablefooter components.
In addition to this I want to retreive the total value from my footer and use it in my Controller for further validations but I am not able to acheive this.
I tried some code already present in the Community for the same but nothing turned out right for me.
Can anyone please help me on this.

You can manually add the values of each row of a column and make use of the value obtained in your controller .
Here is the logic ,
1) get the vo instnace attached to that table .
2) Loop through every single row in the table .
3) get the value and sum up the value and use it in your controller .

Question regarding Classic and Advance table

I have classic and advance table. I am populating with VO that brings 100 record. When i render page i see last record being displayed. How can i show my first record by defult on both tables?

By default the first record will be displayed, if you are seeing the last one instead, you probably did a vo.last() in the code.

How to get the value from Advanced table

In the Advanced table have 2 LOV fields, I need LOV field value dynamically in the controller to validate the save button, if iam not selected any value in lov save button will not allow to save the data. In the table i am using 'Add another row'. How to get the lov field value in the process form request??? and how to do this requirement

1. You can specify required property on LOV field to "yes". For events where you wish to disable the client side validations, set the property disable client side validation to "true".
2. If above behavior is not what you are looking for, then you need to handle in AM and not CO.
a. Call an AM method from CO.
b. In that AM method, get handle of VO.
c. Iterate the VO Rows and check for your validation rules.
