Phantom device problem with Power Manager in Win7, look at the pics
Hi All,
I found a phantom "Powered Off" device in My Computer, see the following picture:

It's probably related to the Power Manager (version 3.11a), because when i right-click on the device, i see the Launch Power Manager option:

Clicking Power on or Eject does nothing.
There are no devices missing in the Device Manager, and everything is powered and running.
No errors or warnings in Event logs. No issues with Windows at all.
Restarting Windows makes this dissapear.
Any clues on what's this device?

Hi, i have problem with session manager's session files. The problem is: the submitted storage data from firefox which is put between "storage":{ and its matching closing brace } But in some of my session files there is non equal { and } under storage's braces. I need to get storage data but in my case it is very hard to do. My question is there any char put before or after { and } like /{ or \{ to avoid confusion? If there is not such thing, i think there could be different solution but i am not sure: i look couple of my session files; after "storage":{...} there is ,_"formDataSaved" so i can get storage data in this example ... by looking between "storage":{ and ,"_formDataSaved" easily. Well, it seems waiting is not my strong suit..! I renamed a javascript file called recovery to sessionstore. This file was in the folder sessionstore-backups I had copied from mozilla 3 days ago, when my tabs were still in place. I replaced the sessionstore in mozilla's default folder with the renamed file and then started mozilla. And the tabs reappeared as they were 3 days ago!
So there goes the tab problem. But again when I started mozilla the window saying "a script has stopped responding" appeared, this time the script being: chrome//browser/contenttabbrowser.xml2542
If someone knows how to fix this and make firefox launch normally, please reply! Thank you -
Lenovo T60 Strange problems with 'power management/power guage'
Guys
Since doing a system update my battery guage keeps displaying a grey guage with 3 - inside and if you run the mouse of the icon it says "Battery Not Installed" then 1 minute later it goes green with 100%. Its so random all i can imagine is that there is a problem with the power mangement software, but i have uninstalled the new version and installed an older version but this again doesnt work
I have tried to disable the PM driver from device manager and the Atmel TPM device but these do nothing
I have heard that this was quite common but cant find a solution

I have a strange issue. I have a Lenovo T60 laptop and I am experiencing problems with the power management/power guage.
It will often show the battery not installed (power gauge is a greyish-white color with dashed lines) or it shows a red X. It does not matter if I am on AC power or on Battery power, it will show the full range of power, battery level, not installed, or an error.
I have searched Lenovo's site and I seem to remember seeing an FAQ about this, but now that I need it, I cannot find it.
What can I check or do to stop this? While it is annoying, I am not sure if I am having a battery problem or not. I did check my battery on Lenovo's site to see if it was recalled and it is not.
I do appreciate any help that any one can give me.

X60 - Screen flickers and screen shutoff - problem with power management or hardware failure?

this is one of the longest unsolved threads in Lenovo Forum. To keep a summary of the posts for new victims (as suggested by PDG in page 23, edited by me):
Bottom line:
This is a video driver problem
If you have XP and can, roll back to 4450 (I currently run with 4860 in XP without problems)
If you have Vista you are basically screwed. No one has posted any link to a functioning V32 driver.
You can find a link to a backlevel XP driver on p.21 or thereabouts.
{Windows 7, Linux} may or may not help. (no problems for me with Ubuntu 8,9 currently)
LENOVO WILL NOT HELP. Don't waste your time. Lenovo will say its a hardware problem because that's all they know and charge you big bux to do basically nothing when you ship them your PC.

I always stay at the current level of available drivers with System Update.
In the last days the screen starts to flicker / jiggle once in several minutes until suddenly the whole screen turns black and can't be reactivated. I then put the X60 into standby and it wake up right after. The screen is then turned on again...
Its a 1706-AA7...
I rolled back the graphics driver to an earlier version, didn't help. Does it look like some faulty power management? Or a potential HW issue?

UPDATE: this time the screen was totally light blue... same workaround: standby -> wakeup
UPDATE2: I removed the driver completely and installed it manually from the driver matrix page. It took a couple of reboots. In between resolution was down to 640x480 with 4 bit. Not its working again without flickering...
Was this a wrong driver pushed via System Update?

no - 2 video adapters are correct! You should not remove them. Read the Intel FAQ here.
Strange - could it be that it also updated your video driver the same time? When I rolled back the video driver to a very old version, I never experienced the flicker again. No colorful blanks anymore.
The Intel downloadpage offers a backlevel driver for the chipset;

* HDMI Audio: 5.10.0.1030 But I don't know whether I should try. This release doesn't appear in the Thinkpad video driver history. Hopefully the bug will be acknowledged and they work for a fix. Where should bugs be reported, when they are not taken serious by the first level support?

Problems with power manager and saving settings Gnome3
Hi guys,
I installed on my Arch Linux system two desktop environments: xfce4 und gnome-shell. On xfce4 anything is fine, but on gnome-shell some preferences were not saved. Especially the time (I'm living in Germany, and the System always shows local time + 1h) and the startup-applications which I setted with gnome-session-properites are saved but nothing happens on next startup (e.g. guake is in the list and is not started automatically).
An other point is that the desktop folder is not loaded (I setted it with gnome-tweak-tool), but when I manually start nautilus, it is shown.
The last point is the power manager. I'm working on laptop and the battery symbol is not shown. I can watch my battery status with executing 'acpi' but thats very annoying. Other components of the power manager are not working, too. The laptop turns off it's monitor, when nothing is done within approx. 10 minutes (I setted as well in the xfce power manager that the monitor should not be turned off as in the gnome-power-manager). I installed the gnome power manager simply with pacman -S gnome-power-manager. Just for you to know.

no, works fine with startx. you only need to add proper stuff in ~/.xinitrc like explained in the wiki. -
Hi All,
I have two domains, prod.local and test.local. On prod.local, I have a license server living on the connection broker. I have created a two way trust between the domains so that the RDS instance on test.local can use the license server on prod.local.
When I first setup the RDS instance on test.local and point it to use the license server on prod.local everything appears to work, all servers recognize the license server.
However when I log off and back on, and click the RDS dashboard in test.local, the Remote Desktop Services overview states I need to add every server from prod.local to the server pool. This is bothersome because the Remote Desktop Services on test.local
is still functioning, but I am no longer able to manage it. When I add the servers from prod.local to the server pool I am displayed the setup for prod.local instead of test.local
Is there a way around this? Can I use the same RDS license server key multiple times?

Please check the required ports must be opened on firewall.
- To issue RDS Per User CALs to users in other domains, there must be a two-way trust between the domains, and the license server must be a member of the Terminal Server License Servers group in those domains.
- To restrict the issuance of RDS CALs, you can add RDS Host Servers into Terminal Server Computers group on RDS Licensing servers.
- Configure RDS licensing server on all RDS Host Servers in each domain/forest. You can do it through RDS host configuration snap-in or through a group policy.
- Add administrators group of each domain/forest in the local administrators of RDS licensing server. This way, you’ll not get a prompt to enter your credentials when you’ll open RDS host configuration snap-ins in trusted domains/forests.

T430s not entering 30 Day Standby with Power Manager
I have a T430s with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit that is not entering 30 Day Standby like it should. The issue seems to lie with Power Manager.
Inside of Power Manager I have the 30 Day Standby option checked, just like I should, and it is also reflected in the BIOS setup as well. If I change the BIOS transition time for 30 Day Standby to "Immediately" and start Windows, but don't log in, and put the computer to sleep. It almost immediately wakes up and transitions into 30-day standby.
Now I know that Power Manager has a "hard coded" setting of 3 hours, regardless of the BIOS setting. So after 3 hours, Power Manager will automatically wake up the computer like it would to transfer to 30-day standby, but it just goes back to normal sleep.
Today while on battery, it did this twice (according to the Windows Event Log) Wake up, and go back to Sleep / Standby (S3). In the logs, the wake source is listed as "Unknown" when it goes back to sleep 10 or so seconds later is listed as "Application API".
Like I said, I was running on battery, and I also went into device manager and unchecked anything I could think of that would have an option of "Allow this device to wake the computer". I also disabled the Wake-on-LAN option for the LAN card. Plus I had all USB devices unplugged, as well as no Ethernet cable in the LAN port anyway. Plus it does transition to the 30-Day standby if I force the computer to sleep at the login screen before Power Manager is loaded.
If anyone could help me get this resolved I'd really appreciate it!!
EDIT: I just wanted to add I should have all driver / software updates as of Dec. 1 or so. I'm running Power Manager 6.63.1 and Power Management Driver 1.67.4.4.

T430s

Windows 7 64-bit

Power Manager 6.63.1
I'm not sure what could cause this on your computer, but I would try the following things:
Load BIOS default settings (enter BIOS F1 Setup, press F9 to load defaults, F10 to save & exit)
Toggle the setting for 30 Day Standby in Power Manager. Turn if off, reboot the computer, turn it on, reboot the computer.
By the way, you can actually change the 3-hour timer by modifying registry. There just isn't any option for it in the Power Manager GUI.

There's a value called "S3TimerForIFFS". This is the number of minutes until 30 Day Standby Deep Sleep starts. The default value is 180. You can change it to any value 1 or greater. This timer is not exact but should be within a few minutes. -

Oracle has changed the Enterprise Manager from version 1.5 to 2.0 .
With the new Oracle8i dataase server another service has been added.
If you want to user the OEM you have to install The Managment Server.
The Managment server has its own user and privileges and is recommended when using OEM. -
Problem with discovering Managed Servers

I got problem with discovering managed servers, when I restart only administration
server while managed servers are running. During restart of admin server everything
seems to be ok (the directive: Starting discovery of managed server... appears
on the screen).
However when I start admin console through http, I cannot monitor performance,
browse logs etc. I can only shutdown managed server and I can see in a server
tag that particular managed servers are running.
I'm looking forward for any clues

to start those server but they are running. In logging tab when I want to browse
the log the message that probably this server is not running appear. However in
the tab when all servers are listened there is a message that they are running

LENOVO G50-45my BIOS is up to date and I updated my power management system just yesterday. The battery also drains very quickly , just 90 minutes. You should check your startup drive as a starting point, if programs are crashing regularly. That's obviously not "normal." Run +Repair Disk Permissions+ in Disk Utility while started up normally. Then, start up from another disc and run Disk Utility to use the +Repair Disk+ on the startup drive, to look for disk directory issues (you can startup from the Mac OS X installation disc to run Disk Utility).
When this happens, Force Quit doesn't do anything. Any other options?
You can start the Activity Monitor program and quit processes that look relevant to the app. Sometimes, force quit does not work to quit an app because an underlying process keeps running. Sometimes, the Mac is not able to restart or shutdown normally because an app refuses to quit, due to this problem. It is often difficult to know if you should kill a process, so after doing it to make an app quit, it would be a good idea to restart. -

My HP Notepad 6730b has a problem with power. I can't power into the laptop. I have checked the power adapter and it works fine. No lights flash when i plug it into power. Can any one please help??IPad bought on May 29. This is the first attempt to use. I also bought the screen protector and apparently the problem started after I installed the shield and the battery charged, which was low.

Weird problem with power shut down msi nforce 4 platinum
recently i have flashed the latest bios 1.9 of msi nforce 4 u platinum, everything work fine untill yesterday.some stanges happened......
my power doesnt have a on and off button on it ,every time i turn off the pc , i have to turn off the power button of a socket near by the pc.everytime it works fine, but yesterday when i turn on the power on button of that socket , the pc automatic start, i didint turn on the power button of pc, what a weird problem.. also when i go into os , the system time also changed, although i can turn them back to correct one in bios and os, but when i turn the pc off , it changed again... could any one help me out , what is teh real problem of my pc. some virus ?thanks a lot.

i take the old battery t o a saler , there they massure it with voltmeter, it shows only 0.97v, but in bios 1.6 it shows 1.82v, so waht is the real meaning of that reading num in bios for battery?it cant be the real voltage of the battery. i buy a new one ,this one is maxcell 2032 hitachi, the old one is shi t panansonic 2032 .the new one shows 3.17v with voltmeter, then i come back , installed the new battery , in bios this time it shows 2.3v in bios 1.6. so the reading num in bios for battery is definitely is not a real reading for your battery.
i will keep my pc in 24/7 using , and i will look if the battery is sable or not , cos untilll now no one come out for a real explain for this stupid battery problem of msi nofroce 4 platinum.i dont want change battery every 2 or 3month, what a real sick of this!!!! -

iTunes imposes a 90 day wait period before a device can be associated with a different ID. If iTunes support only removed all devices associated with your ID, this does not override the 90-day wait period. From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627:
"Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90 day timer. The timer must complete 90 days from the day the device was associated before it can be associated to another Apple ID."
Unless iTune support can override the wait period for you, you have no choice but to wait if you want to download it from iCloud. If your purchases music is on any of your iOS deivces, you can transfer it to the iTunes library on your computer by authorizing your computer for the Apple ID(s) used to purchase the music (in iTunes, Store>Authorize This Computer), then connecting your device to your computer, opening iTunes, and going to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases. -
I have a problem with ( AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found ) The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be locate in the dynamic link library SWLite3.dll.
With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Reboot and see if all is well
In case that your OS is Windows 7 (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Paste file "SQLite3.dll" to the location.
5. Reboot your computer, it should not display that message, it should be clear.
