Phone Browser Error

In several applications, I am getting a "Phone Browser Error" message, generally when using 'open' 'save as' or 'search'. I have uninstalled PC Suite and the cable driver, but the message persists. How do I get the thing to go away? I'm guessing that it is something to do with the registry, but I can't find it.

PC Suite: I'm not sure now, since I have uninstalled it to try to get this message to go away. It was a version I installed in July or August this year, but is not the newest (November 2006) version.
I have Windows XP Home, Service Pack 2, and have it set to automatic update, so I have all current updates, including all optional updates.
The phone is a 6630.
I use MS Office 2003, and this glitch seems to occur with most if not all of the applications within this package. I'm not sure if it affects other applications. Typically, the error message seems to be triggered when I use the pull-down list to select a drive or folder to save or obtain a file. It also occurs when I search from 'My Computer'.
The message is as follows:
'Some of the application components could not be located. Phone Browser will be unregistered. Please reinstall PC Suite.' I click on 'OK' and the message goes away until the trigger is repeated.

    Good news friends!!! I have managed to get my PC suite to work! YAY! I can see all my folders in phone browser including my saved messages folders which did not appear previously.
    One hiccup though... everything is running really slow and i cannot open my MMS files in "view multimedia".
    Anyway here is what i did, i hope it works for you guys too:
    I uninstalled PC suite in add/remove programs. I then downloaded PC Suite Cleaner and ran the "Clean my computer" option. After restarting my PC i ran PC suite cleaner again this time using the "Problem usuing PC Suite" option. I restarted again and then reinstalled PC suite from the web. After that everything worked fine, except for those hiccups i mentioned earlier.
    If anyone knows how i can view and save MMS please let me know. Some others saved well and i was able to view them..i dont know what's wrong.Message Edited by arturis19 on 16-Feb-2007

    This error code means that the specified path couldn't be found.
    To fix this issue, I suggest we try following steps and try to reinstall again:
    Step 1: Clean update temp files:
    1. Press Windows key + R, type service.msc and press enter. 
     2. Stop Windows update service.
    3. Run following command lines one by one to clear update temp files:
    cd %windir%
    ren SoftwareDistribution SDTemp
    exit
    4.  Restart Windows update service.
    Step 2: Clear windows store catch:
    Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run dialog.
    Type WSReset.exe, and click/tap on OK.
    The Store will now open, and state the following: The cache for the store was cleared. You can now browse the store for apps
    Then, please try to update Windows 8.1 again.

  • 6230-Phone Browser Problem

    Hi,I have noticed that when I updated PC suite, there was a new function available for my 6230, which is in My Computer. It just says Nokia 6230(NOT IN NOKIA PHONE BROWSER) and when I click on it, it works just like Windows Explorer, I can see thumbnails for pictures and transfer rate is higher, bu then the next day I tried it, the icon with 6230 written on it wasn't there, but it was in Nokia Phone Browser. I can use Nokia Phone Browser to access my files, but as i like to take a lot of photos, it isn't really convenient as I can't see the thumbnails like I can in Windows Explorer.
    What can I do to resolve this problem?

    Problem Description: The specification of my PC is as follows:
    - HP pavilion w5160in
    - product Number PY073AA

    - My mobile is Nokia N93
    When I tab the 'To' field forfinding out the contacts (by connecting the mobile by USB to my computer) , I get a error message. > The error signature is as fillows:

  • Bridge Brower cannot open ANY website...but Phone Browser opens up all webstes...

    Running OS 6.0.0.534 on my BB9700 and Bridge is connected to Playbook (.1710). Mail, calendar, todo, memos work fine; but I cannot open up ANY website on the Bridge Browser. The phone browser works fine for all websites.
    Error Message: "Not authorized to open Http://www.google.com".

    I got the "not authorized to open" too, but then checked my RF signal on my Torch and realized that I turned it off the same time when I disabled the WiFi signal. Doh!
    But that being said.  It connected to Google, takes frigging forever to link to the search page, then I gave up connecting to any sites with the search links. 
    Phone Browser worked.  So it must be the blue tooth bridge slowing it down.

    Hi friends, I have a Nokia N72 mobile and am using PC suite 6.81.13.0. My problem is that I can't see the folders within my phone memory or memory card using nokia phone browser. As soon as it shows connected, I click on file manager and the error appears. Although it shows Nokia N72 connected I get a message that says "Could not connect to the phone" even though it is definitely connected. Windows explorer eventually opens and although Nokia N72 is visible no folders/files below this are. Only the synchronization option is working fine. This problem is same both with data cable and bluetooth dongle. I have also installed the latest version of nokia pc suite but of no use. Plzz help me out as it is very urgent...Hoping for early response... Thanx in advance...

    Also experiencing the Cannot connect to OVI Account Server issue.
    I turned off my firewall; confirmed correct account information and Internet connectivity via account sign in on ovi.com website. Can not update MfE or Music player on my 5800 XpressMusic (RM-428) via Ovi Suite as a result of this account server connectivity issue.
    I was able to perform the updates via NSU 3.0.223.
    I echoed this posting to the "Give Us Feddback" section of Ovi Suite.

    in your situation i would try the following:
    1) delete every single message in your inbox, if it is possible
    2) power off the phone and switch it on again
    3) delete the remaining messages on your phone (without connecting to pc suite
    4) power off the phone and switch it on again
    i did not find a way to store sms / mms on the simcard either, but you could open a new thread and ask that question.

    Hi manta, thanks for responding so quickly - appreciate it. The error occured when I click on "Messages" - this attempts to open the phone browser to the Inbox. I also use the Synchronise and it goes through the motions as if successful but goes very quickly and has 0 changes when I know I have just updated some contacts in Outlook. The error message also popped up when opening the file manager which usually opens the phone browser to the phone and card memory. There was also some weird behaviour with the Image Store in that it would say "Getting information about new images and video..." and stay there.
    I am using the WIDCOMM bluetooth software and a DLink DBT-122 adaptor - worked very well for 2 months. As I drove into my driveway I could see my phone start synchronising - and my wife would know I was home. Very cool.
    An hour ago I solved the problem - I was using v6.80.20 of the PC Suite. I found, downloaded and installed v6.80.21 and now it is all working again.

  • Browser error on APEX Login Page

    - APEX 3.1.1
    - Database 11.1.0.6.0
    - Application Server: 10.1.3
    I'm using the APACHE install on my APP server to connect to APEX.
    When I connect to the APEX_ADMIN login page, after filling in the blanks, I get a browser error message, not an APEX error. The "caution" icon pops up on the status bar at the bottom of the browser window. When I look at the message, it says:
    Line: 34
    Char: 1
    Error: Object expected
    Code: 0
    URL: http://<myservername>:7778/pls/apex/f?p=4550:10:7817059686490562
    That URL, of course is the login page.
    When I checked the status, the install completed successfully. I am listening on port 7778 mainly because those that came before me configured the app server's http.conf with 7778.
    What am I missing?

    I do not really know much about this kind of problem, but i may be your internet connection.
    If you are on your own #G network then:
    Go to Settings > then enable "Airplane Mode". Count to 10 and then disable it.
    Then wait patiently until you get a good connection and then try again.
    If you are on a nearby Wi-Fi connection then:
    Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > then disable then enable after counting to 10. Make sure that you are connected and then try again.
    If all else fails, then you need to contact your provider for assistance.

    Did you try to connect in recovery mode again? iOS: Unable to update or restore

    If I try to open this pdf file manually then its works.
    The Error comes if I try to open Big Files or some else Files in the Browser.
    This Error was not comming with Adobe 8.

    To uninstall Adobe Reader, make sure (using Task Manager's Processes tab) that Adobe Reader is not running.  Browser windows should also be closed.
    If you still cannot proceed, try in Safe Mode, or use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.
    P.S. Adobe AIR and Acrobat.com are not directly related to Adobe Reader, and can be uninstalled independently.

  • Phone browser contacts do not update

    Hi,
    I'm using Nokia PC Suite 6.83.14.1 on Windows XP professional SP2 and Outlook 2003 SP2.
    I've noticed that the phone browser contact synchonisation does not work correctly. More specifically, when I update or add a contact in outlook, then synchronize with pc synch, everything is synchronized fine with my phone. But when I go to the phone browser and look at the contacts, no updates have been done. If i refresh the phone browser contacts at that point, the changes I made in outlook (and synched to the phone) get overwritten.
    I've already tried deleting the phone browser db and then the contacts are displaying exactly like on the phone (since the db is rebuilt) but when I do a new edit in outlook and synch that, the same problem occurs in the phone browser. To me, it looks like the phone browser does not know how to deal with edits done outside of it.
    Anyone have any idea how to solve this?

    Right, that would potentially solve the problem on my XP pc, but I want to keep everything synchronized between my cell phone and my 2 computers.
    Also, shouldn't the most recent version of a software normally have more functionality instead of less. I think this is some kind of bug in the latest version of PC suite.

  • Using file manager and phone browser without email...

    I have nokia 6021, PC suite version 6.5.12 and windows xp home SP2 and I connect the phone to PC via bluetooth.
    I just want to be able to view my phone "contacts" (just names and phone numbers) on my PC, edit my "contacts" on the PC and then load them back to the phone, but I do not want to synch with my email program because that is full of other contacts stuff that I do not want to clutter the phone memory with.
    The bluetooth connection seems to work fine, but......
    When I set up PC suite it wanted me to synch with an email program, but I just by-passed that. However, I cannot see my contacts files on the PC using file manager and phone browser. Is the only way to do this to actually synch with another email program that I use purely for the phone contacts?

    I just do a firmware update on my phone, though the firmware version was the same one, yet it's now able to back it up..
