Photomerge 360 Pano stitch

I want to make a 360 degree (circular) panorama shot to convert to the QTVR. I have no trouble getting shots with sufficient overlap and using Photomerge to make a long panoramic shot, but what do I use to merge the "2 ends" together to make a 360 degree loop?
I was looking at cubiconverter to format the QTVR http://www.clickheredesign.com.au/.
But there is a missing link in my understanding of how this works and I'd appreciate your help.

  • 360 pano edit with 3D layer

    Hi,
    I am having a little "problem" with 360 pano image and 3D layer. I need to edit stitched image, so I convert it to 3D spherical panorama, which allows me to view the whole image as a tour and I can easily edit for example bottom of the image and remove tripod. It goes fine so far. I edit the image as I need but the problem is I have no idea how to save it back to 2D layer to get back whole stitched pano image. If I use "Rasterize", it saves only the current view of the image not the whole thing. Does anyone know how to do it or I won't be able to?
    Thanks a lot
    Karl

    Double-click the Diffuse texture sub-layer in your layers palette. It represents the smart object used for storing the terxture. Once opened as a separate file, you can save it however you see fit.

  • IPhone development - 360 panos

    Looking into develpment of app that showcases 360 panos, any ideas for running flash-based 360 panos on iPhone?

    Hi IO90,
    Sorry, wrong forum.
    For iPhone you need to find support on Apple.com.
    A significant deficiency of iPhone (and iPad) is they currently are the only major mobile devices unable to support Flash Player.  I think Steve Jobs said that the hardware on Apple.com devices is inferior to Android devices (or something along those lines  ;-)
    I know that Mac does panos, but iPhone and iPad don't run Mac OS either.
    Best of luck with your iPhone efforts.
    Best regards,

  • Implementing a 360 pano in Edge Animate

    Hi folks!!
    My collegues made a a 360 pano with Pano2Vr and I need to implement direclty in Edge Animate.
    The Html syntax to implement a Pano (via Krpano) is very simple:
    http://krpano.com/docu/html/#embedpano
    In my case:
    <body>
      <script src="swfobject/swfkrpano.js"></script>
          <div id="Pano" style="height:100%;">
            <script>
              embedpano({target:"Pano", xml:"index.xml"});
            </script>
    All ok!
    But when I try to "translate" this code in Edge Animate, I get (in console) this error:
    TypeError: 'null' is not an object (evaluating 'n.innerHTML=this.getSWFHTML()')
    This is my EdgeCode (in CompositionReady):
    $("<link rel='stylesheet' type='text/css' href='style.css'>").appendTo("#Stage");
    yepnope(
    nope:[
    'swfkrpano.js'
    complete: init
    function init (){
    embedpano({target:"Pano", xml:"index.xml"});
    style.css code:
    #Stage_Pano {
              width: 100%;
              height: 100%;
    Obviously, on the Stage I've created a rectangle-shaped element called "Pano" (as a Div)
    It seems to me that the parameter target:"Pano" in embedpano() function can't recognize the Div "Pano" created in Edge Stage? Maybe I have to translate the JQuery object in the Dom object? But how?
    Anyone can help?
    Here the complete project's files:

    THANKS in advance for your help!

    Hi Tim!!!!
    Im' very SORRY to anwser so lately but I was busy with job! :-(
    THANKS, your hint is correct!!! Nothing actually happens 'cause the pano is wrong and has to be made again!
    Still thanks!

  • Any chance on HDR and pano stitching in future versions?

    I did a search on this as a possible feature and didn't see anything. Thanks.

    I don't have any inside information, but I doubt it. Panorama images and HDR images require multiple layers rather than metadata information. I don't think that is the direction Lightroom is heading. I do my initial editing in Lightroom so that I can match the individual images for a panorama as closely as possible, and then I pass them to Photoshop CS3 to create the panorama. It works very well.

  • Multi-Row panorama with Photomerge ...

    Hi,
    does somebody has experiences with stitching multi-row panoramas with CS4's photomerge?
    I always ended up with a very strange viewpoint somewhere into the sky instead of a straight horizont. It's somehow understandable - where should Photomerge know the horizont and the desired viewpoint from.
    So, are there any tutorials or hints how to create multi row panoramas with Photomerge - I searched a lot but didn't find any usable. Or do I have to use another tool like PTGui?
    Thanks a lot
    Konrad

    Yes, the first row are image in the orthognal plane around the vertical axis. Stitching them together result in a normal horizontal 360 pano.
    But I've a second row above the first one from the upper parts of the sourrounding. And using Photomerge they are not merged together in a way that places the first row in front of the horizont is still the same as for the first row - what's clear, because PS does known nothing about those semantics.

  • LR2.1  Feature Req.  Pano and HDR support

    Currently using WinVista with 4GB memory. No problems,but would like to have ability to do Pano stitching and compositing for 2 or 3 overlaid images to compensate for high dynamic range lighting in outdoor photos within LR2. Don't want to learn or move images to Elements or CS4 just for these processes.

  • Photomerge isn't working

    When i try merging three images together in photomerge the program stitches the last two images together and then places the first image below the two images. Why is this happening. I have used photomerge before and they merged perfectly into one panoramic.

    There may not be enough overlap between the right-hand side of the first image and the left-hand side of the second.
    There could be other reasons, of course; but you haven't provided any sensible, detailed information for anyone to tell.

  • Camera Raw synchronizes highlights and shadows not exactly

    I use Camera Raw 8.1 to prepare various NEF-files for stitching to a panorama. It will become multirowpanoramas. Some of these files have a 80 percent of very light sky and some have 0 percent of sky. All files have been exposed manually and equally. Then I open all NEF-Files for one panorama together in Camera raw and select them all.
    When I use shadows slider (= Tiefen in German) the effect on the files varies. In the files with much sky the dark earth is lightend considerabely. In the files with no sky the earth is lightened only very moderately.  Using highlights-slider (= Hoehen in German) I get a similar problem.
    This becomes a big problem, when I stitch these files together!
    Why does that happen, and how can I avoid this problem?

    The problem is not when I do slight adjustments in ACR but only when I do considerable adjustments. As you propose I save the developed NEF-files as 16-bit Tifs. Then I use Autopano pro to create LDR-Panos. I'm not interested in 360° Panos. If you want to see, what kind of panos I create look here: http://www.martinfranz-muenster.de/index-e.htmhttp:// You can imagine that I have to make sometimes considerable adjustments in ACR before stitching. I am a bit old-fashioned therefore I still avoid HDR-processing.
    But I found out something very interesting this morning playing around with ACR: When I use the gradient curve (2nd window, in German: Gradationskurven) instead of the first window with an aperture as icon (in German: Grundeinstellungen):
    Modifying these curve in a series of pictures with and without sky (as described above) results in linear adjustments or at least much more liner adjustments! That is what I was looking for!
    So I will modify my workflow slightly: I do the first strong adjustments in ACR with the "gradient curve" and minor alterations in a second step with "basic settings" (Grundeinstellungen).

  • GoPro Camera Raw Lens Profile settings not working for image sequence in Photoshop/AE/Premiere CS6

    Hey Everyone,
    I'm in need of assistance in either Photoshop CS6, After Effects CS6, or Premiere Pro CS6.  I just installed the trials after seeing Russell Brown demo the GoPro Lens Profile correction feature in Camera Raw.  Basically what I'm looking to do is make adjustments (in Adobe Camera Raw) to a series of still images (shot with the time-lapse mode on the GoPro) and then either export those stills through Photoshop or Bridge to a temporary movie file that will be imported into a timeline (with other video clips), or import the JPG files (with Camera Raw settings) directly into After Effects or Premiere as an image sequence.  The latter would be preferable as it'd avoid the extra step of having to render the intermediate/temporary movie file.
    Right now, my current workflow for GoPro time-lapses is:
              - use Bridge CS4 to do basic color correction on the still images
              - save those as TIF files
              - run the TIF files through a custom script to have Hugin 2012.0.0 (open source pano stitcher) remove the fisheye distortion
              - open the new TIF image sequence into QuickTime Player 7 (Pro)
              - export the image sequence as a QuickTime movie file
              - import the movie file into Premiere Elements 10 to place on a timeline with other video clips (as Premiere Elements can't handle the sequence(s) of thousands of still images without crashing)
    If I can go directly from Bridge to a timeline, it'd save a lot of processing time (and it'd be much nicer to preview the images in Bridge without the fisheye distortion)!
    I can prepare the GoPro JPG files through Adobe Camera Raw in Bridge CS6, though when I go to import the JPEG image sequence into Premiere Pro CS6 or After Effects CS6, none of the Camera Raw settings are applied.  If I export the Camera Raw files in Bridge CS6 as DNG files (a step I'd really prefer to avoid) and then import the DNG image sequence into After Effects CS6, the Camera Raw settings are applied except for the Lens Profile settings -- I can pick other cameras but not the GoPro lens profiles when the DNG image sequence loads in After Effects.  It also appears that once I open the DNG files in After Effects CS6, I can no longer access the GoPro Lens Profile in Adobe Bridge CS6 -- the list changes to the same list I get in After Effects.  Premiere Pro CS6 doesn't let me import the DNG files at all.  I've also tried to import the JPG files (as well as the converted DNG files) into an image sequence in Photoshop CS6, though it doesn't allow me to do so (the Image Sequence checkbox is grayed out after I apply the Camera Raw settings in Bridge).
    There could be an issue going on with different Camera Raw versions.  I didn't have Premiere Pro CS6 installed during my initial testing, though now do notice that the Camera Raw dialog in Bridge CS6 only lets me choose compatibility up to "Camera Raw 7.1 and later" when I choose to export the files as DNG.  I thought Camera Raw 8.2 was an option there a couple days ago when I only had installed Photoshop CS6 and After Effects CS6 (though am not 100% certain).
    Please let me know if there is some workaround to get the GoPro lens profile Camera Raw corrections applied in an image sequence in one of the Adobe CS6 products (without having to export the files as temporary TIF or JPG files out of Camera Raw).  I'd greatly prefer to shorten my current workflow for these files.  (I just updated the CS6 trials and have tested all three programs again though I still get the same results described above.)
    Does Lightroom 5 have any option to export Camera Raw image sequences as movie files (or any other feature that might help in simplifying my current workflow)?  I can't install the trial right now as it's not compatible with OS X 10.6.8.  I'd consider upgrading OS X if I knew Lightroom 5 would do what I need, though am waiting for any potential color profile issues to be resolved in OS X 10.9.
    I can open the image sequence in Photoshop CS6 if no Camera Raw settings are applied and then use the Lens Correction Filter to apply the GoPro Lens Profile settings, though I really prefer the Camera Raw interface in Bridge for tweaking image settings.  As soon as I apply Camera Raw settings to the first image, Photoshop CS6 grays out the image sequence checkbox.
    If there isn't a way to take Camera Raw files straight from Adobe Bridge to a timeline, I may stick with my current workflow using CS4 and see what I can do to better automate some of the steps as the TIF export in Bridge, fisheye distortion removal in Hugin, and render in QuickTime Player all take quite a while.  I won't mind waiting for all the processing if I can set it and check back on it in later the next day when it's fully complete.  Is there a way to have Adobe ExtendScript execute an external shell command (i.e.: a command I could type into the bash shell in Terminal in OS X)?  If not, is there a way to call/run an ExtendScript script from the command line and pass a parameter to it that my custom script could use?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mark

    Can you zip up a few of your GoPro images, upload them to dropbox.com and post a share link, here, so others can experiment with them, or do you mean this issue is global to all camera models?

  • Lift and stamp white balance broken?

    Hi everybody,
    I'm using the 3.0.3 with the latest ProKit and Core Image rendering update, and I'm working with Canon 5d2 images. Today I was working on arranging a set of shots for a pano stitch in another tool, and I noticed that my camera's AWB choices varied across the sequence.
    Thinking this would be easy to fix, I went to the image with the best color, put a check in the White Balance brick to "turn it on", and then lifted the WB adjustment. I stamped that adjustment onto the other 5 pictures, and the previews updated instantly to reflect the new color. However, the moment I move off and back onto any of the other images, the original (and varying) AWB settings are back in effect.
    (After fiddling with it for a few minutes, I eventually gave up and just manually typed in the temperature and tint values into each picture's brick because I needed to get going on this stitch.)
    Can anyone else confirm this bug?
    Thanks,
    Ben

    Thanks for your effort. I am stunned. Would be edifying to know what is happening! I thought it might be okay as I sometimes turn my image black after applying some change, but the black is only a temporary display problem as the image is correct the next time I go to use it; perhaps in my situation Aperture was busy generating new previews for presentation of the changes. Your white is certainly a different issue. Glad it's only an isolated incident and not happening for you on the other images.

  • Camera raw plug-in conflict

    Lightroom asking me to update Camera Raw plug-in version 7.2.  Photoshop states I have the latest plug-in: version 6.7.0.339.  Help please.

    CS5 / CS5 Extended work the same way - can use ACR 6.x but not ACR 7.x.
    But: if you update ACR to version 6.7 specifically, then this can include all your LR 4 adjustments correctly into Photoshop, "silently" providing the same compability that ACR 7.x would have done. The option to have LR render the adjustments instead of ACR, applies with earlier versions only..
    Not only does "Edit in PS" then work smoothly, for a single image - Edit in PS as Layers / for HDR / for pano stitching all start to work properly too, for multiple highlighted images.
    ACR 6.x does not include the right controls for reading, interacting with and then saving LR4 / ACR7 settings using the ACR window. That means you cannot open an image compatibly into ACR direct from disk or out of an embedded Smart Object. To do that you would need ACR 7 and CS6.
    But the lack of these controls in ACR 6.7 does not seem to affect its ability to do a straight-through conversion at LR4's instigation.

  • Lightroom 4.1 exported JPEG files are not recognized by Apple Preview App

    I just started using Lightroom 4.1 Trial version (coming from Aperture). I exported JPEG versions of some images using an ICC profile. On my iMac running Lion 10.7.5 the pictures do not show a thumbnail, the file on the desktop just shows "JPEG". I could not open the file with the Preview App, but I am able to open it with DPP (Canon software)? Also the file shows that it has 0 x 0 dimentions when I click Get Info even though it is about 25 Megs in size?
    The message I get is
    "The file “Edit-739820120223Canon EOS 7D.jpg” could not be opened.
    It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."
    Does anyone know why this is hapening?
    Is it a know issue between Adobe and Apple?
    Is there a fix for this?
    Thanks for help in advance.

    25MB is quite a large filesize for a JPG, and this might be either quite a lot of pixels saved at a very "high" quality (not very much compressed), or it may be an extremely large number of pixels saved with medium compression.
    While the technical spec of the JPG format imposes an absolute limit on maximum width and height pixel dimensions, some software employs a lower limit above which it considers the file to be invalid. Different programs, different limits, sometimes.
    I have encountered this (for example) with pano stitched images using the full resolution of a large number of component shots - where JPG output could not be made, or if made, could not even be viewed as a whole by my standard image viewer (though TIFF was still OK even at still larger sizes).
    If Lightroom has been set to a large printed size AND to a high ppi resolution, it is easy to get into very high numbers and very large output files. One should IMO at least question the utility and benefit of using very high ratios of upsampling from a standard digital photo - which may happen in some cases as a result of using the same output settings regardless, when spreading the same data across both small and large scales. If the file that was imported into LR really does provide an unusually high number of pixels expressing lots of detail, then that will better deserve such a capacious output file. Otherwise, each part of the file may merely show a very highly detailed representation, of a very blurry nothing-much-in-particular.
    If the JPG has exceeded the viewer's size limits, a reported width and height of 0 may represent an error message, in effect - not actual reality.
    regards, RP
