Photoshop CS6 doesn't remember window location on second monitor

Hey
I have 2 monitors and I've arranged the panels on one screen and the main ps windows on the second.
I saved it as a new workspace, but now, after I restart photoshop, all the panels and the main window goes back to one monitor.
I've arranged it like this:
but after I close and reopen photoshop, it looks like this:
How can I make photoshop remember the window's location after restart?
Photoshop CS6 13.0.1 x64
Windows 8

Nah, I just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
You're welcome - glad I could help.

  • Installation fails Photoshop CS6 Public beta 64bit windows 7

I tried to install the windows version of Photoshop CS6 Public Beta, the 64bit version failed to install said that it failed to locate folder tokens. I uninstalled it and restart my computer. I tried to reinstall but I still get the same error.
What I have tried, was turn off all none windows services incase there were conflicts, and truned of my virus checker(norton contant guard). I've also tried to created another admin account incase there were some corrupt certificates or permissions. Nothing has worked for me.
I'm running on a upgrade version of Windows 7 Ultimate (originally on home premium) on a HP Pavilion Elite e9180f.

Thanks for your response.  I only find one folder in the Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers folder. It is AdobeInDesign7xIconHandler64 and the file is mod-mul.key so probably doesn't apply.

  • How do I set Firefox to open new windows in my second monitor?

When opening a new window (by right clicking a link and selecting Open in New Window), I would like the window to be opened in my second monitor. Firefox used to do this, but randomly stopped. Now when I open a new window it is opened in my primary monitor. It does not open maximized (just short of being completely maximized). I have tried the fix I used before- moving the un-maximized browser to the second window, closing and re-opening the window. I have also tried moving the un-maximized browser, maximizing, closing and re-opening. Does anyone know how I can restore Firefox to open my new window in the second monitor?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Randomly

Click the orange Firefox button, and click "Options". This will bring up a new window with a "Tabs" tab at the top. Click that. There will be several checked boxes, including one called "Open new windows in a new tab instead" up at the top of the list. Uncheck that box and you should be good to go.
ETA: This should also work if you click "Tools" and "Options" within your version.

  • FCPX. Viewing  timecode and scrolling in the viewer window on a second monitor?

I am an old FCP7 user, learning FCPX. In 7, I liked being able to see timecode and scrolling in the frame of the canvas window. I would move and enlarge the canvas to fill a second monitor. I could still see the timecode and be able to scroll without having to go back and forth with the timeline on the first monitor.
I don't like that in X, the timeline is the only place that shows timecode and scrolling.  So that when my viewer is in a second monitor, I have to go back and forth with the first monitor to view timecode and scroll. I put my script (word doc) on my first monitor which covers the FCP timeline. And makes it very cumbersome to view the script, view the movie in a large format and scroll/ get my orientation in the movie I am editing.
In FCPX, is it possible to view timecode and scrolling in the viewer window on a second monitor?

I don't use dual monitors, so this may not help, but my 1st thought is device driver version

  • Photoshop CS6 doesn't recognize my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M GPU?

I just bought a brand new Alienware M17x R4 with Windows 8 Pro x64 and Photoshop CS6 won't recognize my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M GPU?
I've already updated Windows 8, Photoshop and the Nvidia graphics driver.
Any ideas?  I spent so much on a nice graphics card but now it seems PS CS6 can't even use it.  It's using the Intel HD4000 instead:
    I also tried this:  http://forums.adobe.com/message/4545768#4545768
And deleted the settings but that didn't help.
According to this, my graphics card should work, it's a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M, which is a 600 series GPU:  http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cs6-gpu-faq.html#tested_cards
Tested video cards for Photoshop CS6
Adobe tested the following video cards before the release of Photoshop CS6. This document lists the video card by series. The minimum amount of RAM supported on video cards for Photoshop CS6 is 256 MB. Photoshop 13.1 cannot display 3D features if you have less than 512 MB VRAM on your video card.
Important: This document is updated as newly released cards are tested. However, Adobe cannot test all cards in a timely manner. If a video card is not listed here, but was released after May 2012, you can assume that the card will work with Photoshop CS6.
Adobe tested laptop and desktop versions of the following cards. Be sure to download the latest driver for your specific model. (Laptop and desktop versions have slightly different names.)
    nVidia GeForce 8000, 9000, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 series
I've run out of ideas.  Any suggestions?

    Okay, I figured it out...duh.
    My bad...or rather, Nvidia's bad!
In their app profiler, they set Photoshop to use the "default" settings, which defaults to the integrated graphics.  By changing the profile to make it use the discreet graphics, it worked!
This also fixed my issue of the background flashing / flickering.
    I know that's a known bug with Windows 8 + AMD (http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/image-background-transparent-or-flickers.html)
However, Adobe should look into this same bug occuring with the Intel HD4000 integrated GPU, because this happened with my laptop.
Maybe that bug doesn't occur on systems that only have an integrated GPU, but on systems with Optimus, it's definitely a reproducible issue.
When I switch back to integrated, the issue pops up again.
It's nice that Nvidia provides an option for us to either use the integrated or discreet graphics, however, Adobe needs to follow through and make sure that Photoshop doesn't wig out when we're using the integrated GPU.  Sometimes, your customers need to do work on battery power, so the integrated flickering /flashing /transparent background bug definitely needs to be fixed.
Personally, I can get 6hrs out of this laptop running the integrated GPU, but when I use the discreet, that cuts it down to only 2hrs.

  • InDesign won't remember window location

I'm running InDesign CS3 on a Windows XP system with Service Pack 2.
InDesign and InCopy open maximized, and I want them to open at half-screen so I can work in them side by side. I've saved workspaces, but that doesn't seem to work.

I'm similarly annoyed by the application's apparent inehrent inability to remember window size / configuration / placement on desktop whensuccessively opening the app.
In particular, Win 7 (64-bit FWIW in this instance) and using InDesign CS6, v8.0.1
After creating a shortcut on the desktop, the only options afforded through its Properties, at least as far as I've found, are to Run: Normal Window / Minimized / Maximized. Both Minimized and Maximized work as advertised, but Normal Window isn't behaving like a "normal" window, at least normal in the context of most applications running on Windows.
Is there anyway to get InDesign to remember these settings?
    Thank you very much.

  • Photoshop cs6 install administrator error - Windows 7 64-bit

I have attempted installation of Photoshop CS6 repeatedly following a fresh installation of Windows 7 64-bit.  Initially running into the error stating Administrator Rights is required to run this upgrade image, I forced it to Run as Administrator.
I forced the installer to verify my Adobe ID at the "Sign In Required" page by selecting "Not your Adobe ID?), then entering my email address and password.
Following selection of both Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64Bit) and Adobe Photoshop CS6 (32Bit), and clicking Install, I receive the error:
    Setup.exe - Application Error
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b).  Click OK to close the application
Once I click OK, the persistent Administrator error appears:
"Administrator privileges are required in install.  Please log in as an administrator."  I already am logged in as an administrator on this system.
Any solutions to these errors?  I have successfully installed, and ran, Photoshop CS6 on this system (as recently as 3 days ago, before the need to perform the total system wipe, and Windows 7 reinstall)

  • Photoshop CS6 3D Workaround for Windows

After much searching for a solition to the problem of Photoshop not displaying, well - anything - under Windows (I did this with Windows 7 32bit, Photoshop CS6 Extended 13.0.1.1) I stumbled upon a workaround that will solve the issue at least until Adobe gets around to fixing it. I have the bare minimum system, so this should work wonderfully for those of you with a more robust setup:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit / Windows 8 Pro 32bit dual boot
    4 gigs ram installed
About 2 terabytes disk space (multiple SATA drives)
Asus GTX+ 9800 Dark Knight 512mb graphic card
    Intel Core2Duo 2.83mhz processor
EDIT: The problem is related to what I wrote below - but there is more to it than that. Supposedly this started with a Microsoft update (KB2670838 Platform Update - to "prepare your PC for IE10). Unfortunately, some people - like myself, cannot roll back to before this update was applied. Barring re-installing Windows, the other alternative is to turn off desktop compositing completely, or turn off Aero Glass. I am adding this because Photoshop was not the only application affected - anything using OpenGL is broken with this update! To turn off desktop compositing, either use a non-aero theme, or go to you systems propeties->performance tab and check off "Enable Desktop Compositing" - which will effectively turn off Aero Glass, but you will still have the other functions.  i wonder if Windows 8 has this problem as well?
Below is the original fix - which really doesn't fix the problem:
The solution is simple. Turn off desktop compositing for Photoshop ONLY. Either go to the link or go to the Photoshop.exe, right click, choose "Properties", then choose the "Compatibility" tab; then check Disable desktop compositing". This will disable Aero Glass ONLY when you open Photoshop - and lets face it, do we really need Aero Glass that bad? I think not. So as long as Photoshop is open your theme will be basic, when you close it it will automatically switch to Aero Glass and be al pretty again (well actually basic doesn't look THAT bad, but Aero is definitely cuter). With this workaround I am able to use the advanced option under "Graphic Processor Settings".
It works perfectly for me, with a minimal of inconvenience. If it works for everyone else then there's a bug here. I want credit and free Adobe products  (all of them) for life as payment! Notice I didn't "lol"? I'm not kidding!

  • Thunar not remembering window location

I've reinstalled Arch on a new laptop, and cp'd my root and user directories over (including some hidden files) (and chowning them to the new users as needed). It looks like I may have done something wrong. Thunar doesn't remember the last window location, so each window starts small in the top-left corner. Where is this setting stored? I've looked in .config/Thunar but don't see anything. I don't have this issue with my browser, terminal, or any other programs that I'm aware of.
I am using XFCE4, and LightDM (if that matters).

Looks like everything is stored in the xfconf database, but I don’t know where it is located.
    xfconf-query -c thunar -l
Note that Thunar does not remember its position, however it should remember its size.
Edit: there is the “misc-remember-geometry” value, though… maybe setting this to true would help.

ERROR: DW050: The following payload errors were found during install:
ERROR: DW050:  - Adobe Mini Bridge CS6: Install failed
ERROR: DW050:  - Adobe SwitchBoard 2.0: Install failed
Photoshop started fine and worked fine (only used it a bit) after the "failed" installation but, the Update option in the Help window was grayed out (trial version, just to let you know). Is that a limitation to the trial version? Or is it straight up an error?
My question is, what did the error report mean and what could be wrong with my currently installed version of PS? BTW, I didn't use Mini Bridge yet, although all of its files are present in the Program Files directory for Adobe.
    Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the reply. I will try the steps listed in the document you linked me to. In case any of the procedures works, I will mark your post as "Correct".
